I bought my Iphone 4 32gb last month from Apple, i signed with 02, transferred my number from Vodafone but have same number. Now i have a number of problems, when i facetime someone, a different number comes up. This happens most of the time, secondly when people try to call me the call dosen't go through. I keep having to register my voicemail as it keeps changing, this is really annoying and i do not want to change numbers. What do i do, thanks

Contacts with multiple mobile numbers

Hello all,
This is my first post here, so please be patient with me. I searched through previous threads, but did not find an sufficient answer to the problem I am having. To set the stage, I will give you what I am working with
g-mail account with close to 500 contacts
iPhone 5, latest version 6.1.3
MacBook Air, latest version 10.8.3
I have my g-mail account linked to my iPhone as an Exchange connection so that I can view the contacts. I have my computer contacts program connected with Google as well. The problem I am having is that most of these 500 contacts have multiple mobile phone numbers. I am able to create this contact easily in g-mail and can relabel the phone types to match what they are. Let's say for instance:
Name: John Smith
Home: 111-111-1111
Mobile: 222-222-2222
Mobile:333-333-3333
etc.
I have done quite a bit of testing and found that the computer contacts matches up perfectly with whatever I put in there, including multiple mobile numbers. My iPhone on the other hand, does not show the second Mobile number. It will recognize multiple home, work, and pager numbers, but not multiple mobiles (it only shows the first one on the list). Why would it allow multiple numbers of the other types and not mobile numbers?
Is there something I am doing incorrectly, or has Apple overlooked a simple, important function? The things I do not want to do are:
create custom phone labels for my contacts as in mobile1, mobile2 - there are too many and this is an inefficient solution.
change all of the cell numbers to be work numbers - same as above, and what if someone else is updating g-mail contacts and does not follow the rule?
unlink the Google tie I have on the computer - this seems to be the only one of the two that works, and I do not want to have to constantly remember to download an updated contact list. The list changes constantly, and I know I would eventually forget ( I am looking for a poka-yoke here).
Any ideas about solutions?

I have no prblem syncing multiple mobile numbers so I don't think it's a universal issue with iOS. The only difference I see is I am using CardDav instead of using the Exchange option. Have you tried it that way? You can urn off contacts in the Exchange account and add the CardDav account separately.

when i have a contact in iphone and i add more mobile numbers than just one, they do not pass through to outlook 2007. i realize this is because there is no room in outlook for more than 2 (if i remember correct) mobile numbers,but is there a workaround?

I've got the same problem but with a "4 number" limit. Many of my outlook contacts have more than 4 numbers associated with them but the iPhone contacts app only shows/syncs 4 numbers. Any way to increase this limit on the iphone?

IMessage issues on contacts associated with two different mobile numbers

Hello together,
currently i am facing the following issue:
I have a contact "Max Mustermann" associated with to different mobile numbers. Number 1 is a number belonging to his business mobile phone which is an iPhone. Number 2 belongs to his private Android device.
Since I updated to iOS 7.0.2 my iPhones sends every message (new message, answers) to the iPhone, regadless if he sends me a text message from his Android device. During my throubleshooting I tried to delete his business number from contacts, deleted every mail adress associated with his contact, recreate the contact with the same name and just the private number. As for now I completely deleted his contact on my iPhone and tried to send the text message directly to the mobile number of his Android device. But still the same: Message is send as iMessage to his business mobile phone...
Anybody faced this issue before and can me help with his?

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

Okay , you should only delete EMPTY DUPLICATED folders, not preview folders or any others. I would put them all back. Then just delete any DUPLICATED EMPTY folders, do not disturb any other folders. On iOS switch off DOCUMENTS AND DATA under ICLOUD in SETTINGS. Do this on all iOS devices not just the one. Once deleted DUPLICATE FOLDERS on the mac in MOBILE FOLDERS then exit the LIBRARY. Open PAGES on your MAC and view folders on icloud. Check everything is all there as expected. If okay then DELETE and re-install PAGES app on iOS - THEN switch on DATA and DOCUMENTS in ICLOUD. Now open PAGES. If you have Time Machine on you can recover any 'lost' doc files and restore them from your mac from pages application. Try the process again and do not disturb any folders other than ones I mentioned as this is the system files LIBRARY. It is not a place to be over zealous in moving, altering and deleting folders and files. Take care please.

IMessage won't activate glo Nigeria mobile numbers

i recently discovered that apple iphone users using Glo nigeria mobile numbers cant activate imessage on their numbers. it only works wits apple id. other networks activate within 1 hour. but with glo lines, it keeps charging for sms every hour and stays on waiting for activation.
Can anyone explain why other gsm networks in Nigeria activates imessage succesfully while Glo wont work. It was working initially before it stopped.

Ios 7 upgrade will not let me send text to certain mobile numbers. Apple allows you to create your own custom label for a phone number. In my case, I have a number of landline and mobile numbers connected to a business that I call constantly. There are a number of businesses set up this way in my Iphone. I have changed the name of the contacts in these businesses, be it landline or mobile. But now it seems that I cannot send a text to Mobiles that I have changed the name of, from MOBILE to the persons name. Even changing it to the persons name and then mobile beside it .
Anyone got any way around this

Hi Just got home and am sending you a screenshot of one f the contacts in my Ipone 4s with the ios 7 upgrade. Ive deleted a few of the numbers but you can see there are two of the mobiles on there. One has a persons name and one is just called mobile.
the one with the persons name no longer has the text box beside it which would normally allow me to text that person.
I did edit this contact and changed it back to "Mobile". I was then able to send a text as the text box was available for use

Can I open a Dropbox file in Numbers on an iPhone?

I want to work on a file with Numbers, sometimes on my iPhone and sometimes on my desktop Mac. I want just one copy of the file. it's experimental data and i want to be able to work on it from either platform.
I've got the file in a Dropbox folder, but when I open it on the iPhone under the Dropbox app, it opens only for viewing. Somehow I'd like to open that file with Numbers on the iPhone.

Yes, you can. But not with Layers, obviously. :~)
However, you have to go through the File menu in Photoshop:
File > Open
Then, in the Open dialog box, go to the bottom-LEFT button and select Camera Raw.
Do NOT select "Photoshop Raw" ! You want Camera Raw.

Check this post, the dial assist is part of the iOS 7.1, according to page 49 of the iphone_user_guide
Make calls to your contacts and favorites while traveling abroad. (GSM) Go to Settings > Phone and turn on Dial Assist. Dial Assist automatically adds the prefix or country code for calls to the U.S.
This user had a similar problem and solved it by switching off the dial assist feature in Settings/Phone/Dial Assist

Is there a way of automatically synching an Excel document with Numbers on an iPhone?

I have Numbers on my iPhone.   I have placed a couple of Excel files into the File Sharing window for Numbers in iTunes. I sync the iPhone and then I can open up and view the files on the phone.
Now, what I can't figure out is how to have Numbers automatically update the files when I've changed them on my MacBook Pro.
Is that even possible?

No, that is not possible at this time (at least from my own experience). Currently, you can make changes on your iPhone, but in order for you to make changes to the same document on your Mac, you first have to:
     -1) Download the file from your iCloud account
     -2) Make the changes from Excel or Numbers app on Mac
     -3) Save the document in Excel or Numbers
     -4) Then, go back to your iCloud account online (on your Mac), and drag & drop the updated file to iCloud
I know I just said a mouthful, but I agree, that is a lot of extra steps for making a document sync on both your Mac and iPhone.... Hopefully Apple will have a solution for this in the future (where, for instance, a document can be accessed via iCloud directly from an iWork application (like Pages, Numbers, Keynote), and then we are able to make changes to the document, and as changes are made, it automatically updates in iCloud without us making any additional steps, if this makes any sense)....

You could get a Google voice account and have it forwarded to your iPhone (and other phones). This would effectively give your iPhone the capability of receiving calls to 2 different numbers and making calls from 2 different numbers. Although the Google voice capabilities on iPhone are somewhat awkward.

iTunes does not backup any contact information. Contact information is sync'd with your contacts program on your computer. On a Mac, that would be the Contacts program, which iTunes will sync the content with between your iPhone and the computer. On a Windows PC, people often use outlook, and their contacts are sync'd with its contacts.
You can also sync contacts with iCloud.
Do you still have the previous iPhones? If so, just sync them with whatever contacts program you use on your computer, then sync those to the new iPhone.
