2 new Slice batteries killed by X220T??

This is a mystery I need help to solve
Issue  New Slice Battery for  X220T    ( Serial xxxxxxx)  
A new Slice battery   ( FRU p/n 42t4976) arrived Monday 19th
I attached it to my X220 and plugged the charger into the battery direct.
At  the end of the boot a warning came up  - a reminder really that the charger should be attached to the slice battery and not the computer in order to charge both batteries .. ( but I had already done so
I checked the battery meter charging indicator on the left of the Slice.   No lights were lit so I left it in charge for an hour.  It didn't improve 
I pointed at the battery meter on the task bar.   Battery 1 was showing 36% and battery 2 was showing an error 
I noticed that even with the slice battery attached and the 90W charger attached to the slice the battery level was falling ( rapidly)
I phoned Lenovo support  and Mr C used remote access to look at Lenovo Solutions Power Manager / Battery.  It showed battery error, and no information such as battery serial number could be retrieved.
We tried several things like reboot, update drivers etc.   Every time the reminder alert would pop up  ( plug charger into slice to charge both batteries)
I tried plugging in the slice battery stand alone  - connected to nothing but the charger   The charging lights would not show even after an hour.
It was decided that this battery was just DOA and replacement battery sent.
Wednesday 21st
The new battery arrived.    
This time I checked the battery gauge before connecting it to the x220.  It showed nothing so I put it directly on a charger for an hour and it went up to 5 bars – 100%
I disconnected chargers, shut down my x220T and connected the battery, connected charger again ( direct to slice) and rebooted
The reminder popped up at the end of the reboot ( connect charger direct to slice to charge both batteries)
In no other way was the slice battery recognized.   Not on the task bar ( Battery 2 :  error) an not on the Power Manager.  This was exactly the same as the first battery   and no I didn't’t get them mixed up
I tried reboots, checking drivers  etc/
I took the slice battery off and tried the battery Gauge  - all black, no lights.
I tried charging the slice battery – stand alone .   Nothing.  It should have been 100%    This second battery was now essentially dead.   Call cost 27 minutes
Discussion:    The second slice charged and behaved normally until it was connected to the x220t.    Is seems as of the X220T  is killing slice batteries.    Is that possible?
Is this battery the wrong part number and it is being fried by the x220 ?    The fit is perfect.
The first women I spoke with failed miserably to listen and analyse.    She asked me if I was having time date issues  - I said definitely not.   She didn't’t listen  - because her solution was to send out a tech with a new CMOS battery.   When I pointed how that was illogical – she hung up on me.  That wasted 30 minutes.
I called back and got the same helpful Guy from Monday. ( Mr C)    This guy in Lenovo tech Support has searched, and run out of ideas.       The call cost me another 42 minutes.
He is sending a tech with a mother board and battery  - for no good reason other than he has to try 3 things before he is allowed to upgrade the problem to Lenovo Care.
So far there is no actual cause that make sense.   So we are not close to a solution.
Does anyone have an  ideas?   Or a logical set of tests to perform?

I was interested in your post because I bought a second hand x220t with both the regular and slice batteries. The whole thing was very lightly used. The slice battery had less than 10 cycle on it. But get the intermittant message "Battery 2 is bad" until a reboot clears that then all is well for a few days/weeks. I am loath to replace the slice as its so new...seems much more likely to be a software or system issue. Would be interested to hear if you got yours resolved and how.

    that's completly normal because rechargables don't work the same way as batteries do. 75% is a good value in my experience.
    besides that, you might also notice that the % jump around a little and that the last 20% or so drain very fast

    Marc: An offer that sounds too good to be true probably is. If you seriously consider ordering one of these cheapoes, be sure to get the warranty in writing, and check to see that the vendor has been around a while before you sign on the dotted line.
    By the way, although the "Buy it now!" price is $65, the actual selling prices have been $35-$40. That suggests to me that the seller's cost is way too low for him to have obtained these batteries through legitimate channels, and that in turn suggests that he probably doesn't really know any more about their age or their history than you or I do. My guess is they're falsely-labeled Chinese knockoffs — the $5 Rolexes of the laptop battery world.

    Its looking that you are trying to create/work on Matching/Mismatch of Intercompany through reports.
    These match and mismatch reports can be created in "Reporting" section in HFM itself.
    Here in two different sections, you can mention the ICP accounts/combination and also mention their matching Account/combinations.
    The two sections are matched against each other.

  • Two new replacement batteries, neither will charge

    I've gotten a new charger and two different replacement batteries for my macbook pro (early 2008). I just put in the newest one, one light on the battery turned green and then went off. The charger is orange.

    Yes, this is the one that just came in the mail today. I ordered it from FastMac.
    I just put in the other battery (which I've had for a while, don't remember where it's from and it has never worked either). There are no lights on the battery and the charger light is green.

  • How to close instance of Firefox launched via File/New Window without killing all Firefox instances?

    Prior to the latest Firefox update, running on Ubuntu if it makes a difference, I was able to select Close from the File menu (and if memory serves also by clicking the x on the last tab) to exit an instance of Firefox opened via File New Window.
    With the 9.x update this no longer seems to be possible. If I choose file quite from an instance that was launched via New Window all Firefox instances go away!
    This is annoying as I have to leave any instances that were launched.
    I tried the Close Last Tab add on, and it lets me close the content of the last tab but still leaves the instance running with a blank tab.
    Is there a configuration setting somewhere that I have missed to restore the previous mode of operation for exiting additional instances of Firefox without killing all of them?

    Each window should have its own Close button (big X in the right hand corner.)
    But this is dependent on the "Theme" you are using in Ubuntu. This big X chould be a Round Dot when you hover over the color changes. It could be on the Left site instead of the right.

    CTRL+SHIFT+W will close the Active window.
    CTRL+W will close the Active Tab.

  • New Prob. iTunes kills browser functionality. Have to reboot sat. modem.

    When I start iTunes, my browser functionality is killed in both Firefox and IE. Pages start to load and then say, 'done'. Blank browser screen. Email and IM still function normally. I have to close browsers and then reboot my satellite modem before browser function returns. Any clues? I love iTunes and have committed my entire library to it, but I'm at my wits end. Life without music? Thanks.

    Turn off the sharing functionality (both the "look for shared music" as well as the "share my music") and the functionality that lets it look for and find remote speakers. That will most likely prevent it from freezing your satellite modem when you start iTunes.
    Also, look into a software or firmware upgrade for your satellite modem, since it obviously has some kind of bug internally as well.

  • The new facebook application killed my pearl Dx other apps no longer working..

    Ok, it's not completely dead but I just downloaded the new upgrade and as it was downloading I received SMS messages.
    I let it complete the download, with the uninstalling and rebooting of the old version but then I couldn't find my new messages and the layout was weird and now I can no longer even access my SMS to check them old messages or send new ones and if  I try to click on the SMS/MMS icon my cell freezes up.  
    Is it possible the new application is causing a glitch on my phone?
    I can only assume it came from the update as the phone is barely 2 weeks old and I've never had a problem with it. Also the new facebook application runs extremely slowly.. I was wondering if there was a way to downgrade back to the older version? In hopes that maybe my Pearl will start working properly again.

    leave everything empty except :
    Search type: Local
    Include Encrypted messages: Yes
    Service: All Services
    Folder: All Folders
    Show: Sent and Received
    Type: All
    menu >> search
    you will see messages. Mark them as read or delete them.

  • New iMovie has killed my project!!

    HELP!!
    I've been working on an iMovie project for days, cropping clips, adding transitions, text, the works! You couldn't save on the old iMovie, so it just stayed as a project until you "finalised" it.
    Now I've stupidly let my Mac update to Mavericks and the *NEW*, *beautiful* iMovie and my project has become a dump of video files in a lost folder!!! And I click on the Project file and iMovie says it "can't open these types of files".
    How do I restore my project?? Do I have to do it all over again?!

    The old version of iMovie is still availabe in your applications folder!! You should be able to open it with the old version just as you did before! I'm also shocked about the loss of so many cool features! And to be honest, I don't like the editing interface neither ... What did they do?!

  • MacBook Pro (Shiny New) I've killed some apps!

    Dear all,
    I deleted some files from "search items", why not? I thought, despite OSX suggesting it might not be a good idea. Imagine my surprise when, "Facetime", "Ical", "System Preferences", died...on attempting to run the message "app may be incomplete or corrupted"..after a few restarts (no effect), "mail", Garageband and iphoto died too. The app picture vanishes to be replaced by a question mark or in some cases a circle barred symbol.
    So 1 week old and broken, im hoping a reinstall wil fix, anyone seen this before?

    Fortunately, 10.6 has the new feature which will install "in place". Just run the installer from your DVD and it should re-install all system software without touching your settings or data. That said you should always have a good TM backup or clone.

  • New Airport Extreme kills LAN!!!

    Just got my airport extreme tonight, followed the setup but every time I plug it into my LAN it kills the LAN. The LAN becomes extremely busy and NOTHING will get through.
    I have tried using both the WAN port and a LAN port on the back. Any ideas on what could be going on? It has a good signal. My MBP finds it just fine.
    But ALL LAN connection are dead when it is plugged. IE even hard wired connections don't work.

    How have you configured the base station (AEBSn)?
    I am assuming you already have a router, and you wish to use the AEBSn as a wireless bridge?
    This should be configured to not distribute IP addresses and connected to your LAN via a LAN port.
