2 Page Display

I use the free version of Adobe Reader X, then, trying to change it to 2 page display, I do Edit>Preferences>Page Display>and change "Automatic" to "Two Up Continuous" but no change takes place, and it is still one page at a time, one above the other.
Do I have to reboot to get changes to Apply?
[I have trouble re-establishing my Internet connection whenever I reboot].

You don't have to reboot the system to get changes to be applied.
The only thing required is to close Adobe Reader and any PDF opened in browser and then on opening the PDF again, it will display two pages at a time.
If this doesn't work even then, then there could be two reasons behind it:
1. Go to Edit->Preferences->Documents-> UNCHECK the option: Restore last view settings when reopening documents.
2. The PDF was created with a default page display option rather than automatic. To override it go to Edit-Preferences-Accessibility- CHECK the option: Always use page layout style and select the layout.

2-Page display in Acrobat 9.1.2

I have a document created in ID CS4, of multiple facing pages, and exported to PDF. But when I open it in Acrobat 9.1.2, and switch to 2-Page view, it displays with page one (a right-hand page) moved to the left of the screen, and page 2 (a left-hand page) to its right on the same screen. From then on, all the RH pages display on the leftt in Acrobat, and the next LH pages display to their right.
Is there no way to get Acrobat to display a single RH page, and then display each 2-page spread as they actually appear in the document?

It's a bit annoying that Acrobat reverts to single-page view each time the file is closed. Can't this setting be sticky?
Also, the option you've pointed out seems oddly worded, which I guess is why I couldn't find it in the online Help -- the first page is part of the document, so I wouldn't have thought to call it a "Cover Page". But it only works if you select this option *after* selecting Two-page mode, so it doesn't seem very obvious to me.
But I guess not all menu phrases can seem immediately clear to everyone who reads them. Tricky business, UIs.

How to populate a table in JDeveloper 9i on page display?

Can anybody help me out regarding this issue.
The issue is i want to populate a table on displaying a page in OAF using JDeveloper.
The methods which i know are populating on clicking button,etc.
But how to populate on first time page display.

It would be easier to answer in case you have provided more details of what you are doing currently.
Anyway, assuming that you are trying to show data from some DB table on an OA page and you have the mapping done on your OA table columns, all you need is call executeQuery on the VO attached to the table in the processRequest of the page controller.

Problem Description: If we had loaded youtube.com video url in a view stack and navigate to other index of stack or away from we UI screen within the same native window video or embeded tag of flash player or any other embed object will be displayed on top of all screens layer in same position of where the object should be placed in side of html loader only.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) go to http://get.straweb.com/StraWebBrowser/StraWebBrowser.air download and install
2) load 2 tabs and in the 3 tab load video player of youtube.com which will a sample video
before completing the load of 3 tab which trying to load video from youtube.com, navigate to other tabs 1 or 2 in few second once the flash player of youtube.com video player is load it will display in the current tab or UI screen.
3) Try navigating to other tabs than youtube.com loaded tab you see the flash player is on top it stable.
4) navigate to 3 tab and try to navigate to other tab you can observe that so how it will not show that flash player and only visible in that 3 tab which is fine.
Actual Result: Embedded tag of html page displaying on top of all layers of Adobe air application native window
Expected Result: Embedded tag of html page should only displayed in side htmlloader
This you can replicate in any adobe air plugin update and on any Hardware and Environment.
Applicable to all sdk versions of adobe air.

Since upgrading to FF5, i get the following xml error on local development server (IIS 7 Windows 7): XML Parsing Error: no element found, Line Number 1, Column 1. The pages display fine when uploaded to hosting server. How do i resolve it

All aspx pages running locally via IIS or Visual studio inbuilt server can not be displayed in FF5. This problem has only occured since upgrading to FF5. The same sites/code worked fine with the previous version of FF.
When uploaded onto a hosting server the pages display fine. Pages all display ok on local IIS on IE, chrome, opera etc.
I do go through a proxy server, but so do the other browsers.
All this means i can't develop locally on FF. Help please!

Why is login page (to register to use this forum) and other pages displaying foreign characters (e.g., বাংলা (বাংলাদেশ) when am using English (U.S.) versions of IE6 & Opera 10.6 to contact you (as FF4 hanging computer)?

FF4 hanging badly, so used IE6 & Opera 10.63 to register with & access Mozilla support site. Some words on those pages displayed in a foreign language (Arabic script?? )-- example, বাংলা (বাংলাদেশ)
Foreign characters on initial Support registration page, were in lieu of English words asking to select UserID & Password. (Page not entirely in foreign language--only parts. Request to repeat password choice, enter email, were in English).
I registered (guessing what to enter). Went to Support page [support.mozilla.com/bn-BD/kb/ask]. Greeted by statement: "Our volunteers haven't translated this article into বাংলা (বাংলাদেশ) yet."
No idea what language that is, or why u think I can read it. Presently logged in from U.S.

That is Bengali ([http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html]). Firefox 4 no longer has the language setting in the user agent and in your case it doesn't seem to work to detect the language.
You can change the bn-BD in the link(s) to en-US on the Mozilla sites.

How to publish a web page displaying a JFX app ?

I'd like to create a web page displaying a JavaFX application.
When I launch the html file generated by NetBeans in the dist folder, It works perfectly, but when I put the same files (.html and .jar) on a webserver, the app never starts... I only get the Java image-loading spinner.
Is there something else to do to plubish a web page displaying a JFX application ?

One page displays incorrectly on my Mac

Hi, I have a 6 page site hosted on Mac.com. All pages display correctly on various devices but on the Mac I used to create it, one page displays as plain text (in Safari) in Firefox it is fine. I suspect the file may be being read from a cache somewhere on my Mac but cannot find where. Have tried resetting Safari and emptying cache etc. Tried deleting the page and publishing and it doesn't appear but when I paste the page back into iweb and publish again the fault is still there. Just odd why it works on all other Macs using same OS and Safari, but not on the machine that created it. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

To answer my own question - in case it helps anyone else. Just tried duplicating the offending page and renaming and relinking and it seems to work. Not sure why exactly but it now seems OK.

Adobe plugin cannot set Page Display Preferences

I have a lot of scanned documents and read them within IE 6.0 through a web interface using a custom solution. I have to use IE 6.0 so I can't just upgrade or use another browser, unfortunately. The issue is that now, all of a sudden, the documents open up in Fit Page view instead of Fit Width view. I have set preferences in the Adobe Reader application and tried to change them in the plugin window, but it never keeps it's settings. I have tried Adobe reader versions 6, 8, & 9 and they all do the same thing. I have tried changing the setting in the plugin then closeing everything and rebooting, but it still doesn't keep the settings. Is there a configuration file or a registry setting for the plugin that I can force a value? I've been working on this for weeks now and I can't think of anything else I can try.

Adding Page Display options to the Toolbar (Tool Sets)

I'm not seeing how to add page displays to the Tool Sets. Is there a way to do this?
Ditto for returning to beginning or end of Document, or even returning to previous position. These were available in Acr. X

I'm assuming, since you said, "These were available in Acr. X," that you're asking about Acrobat XI.
The easiest way is to right-click (or Control-click) on the toolbar, and choose the tools from the menus shown below:

Web pages displaying incorrectly e.g. no Wonga slidebar though sliders still visible and workable

I've had this problem for the last few weeks - i.e. on Firefox 8 and 9 which I changed to today in the hope it might fix it. It didn't. No pages display as they should. E.G. on the top of this page where you see 'user name', 'sign out', 'inbox', 'other applications', these are surrounded on three sides by thin lines only. The background is white. Sign in boxes on various sites consist of two slightly misaligned text box frames that make reading the word difficult. They still work though! Sorry if I'm not describing this very well. Hopefully you get the gist. I've tried emptying the cache in options and made sure my add ons etc are up-to-date as per the advice for incorrectly displaying web pages. Any help much appreciated. (its probably something silly I've done but I just can't fix it.) BTW pages display properly for the other user on this laptop (i.e. on their side!)

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

Set zoom and page display on open

Thought I would be able to set zoom (90%) and page display (Continuous) in Acrobat Pro Properties/Initial View before distributing my LiveCycle form, but realize now I can't.
What scripting would I use in LCD ES2 9.0 document targetted for 8.0 or later to set that?

Page display based on count of records

Hi All,
i have one report requirement in BIP.
my report should contains 3 pages only.
Fist page contains first contact information.
Second page should contain Second contact inforamtion.
Third page should contain comparing of first contact age and second contact age.
if we select first contact record it should display first page contact info only no need to display compare page.
if we select two contacts then it should display first contact page, second contact page and compare contact age page also. (here first contact and second contact columuns should match. example address, country but age not required to match)
if we select three or more contacts they should get a message please select two contact records only message.
Now my question is regarding to page displays, how can we count records then display first page, otherwise display all pages, else message. Here i want to generate report with sub template logic.

Page Display Resolution

Windows 7. Illustrator CS5. Acroabt Pro X
An artist created a document in Illustrator which has embedded screenshots. Screenshots are 72 ppi and not scaled.
He sent me the AI file and I saved it from Illustrator as a PDF and then viewed in Acrobat.
At 100% zoom, the page shows larger in PDF than in Illustrator. Making the screenshots look rather blurry.
After some exploring I found a setting for Page Display Resolution. It was set to custom (I cant remember the ppi, but perhaps 110?). My other choice was system setting (96 ppi). That was too be as well. So I changed it to 72 and now its fine.
So I kinda understand where they are going with it. However, this is a Program setting, right? Not a document setting. Is there any way to set something like this so that anyone who gets this PDF will see the images at the right resolution at 100% zoom?
Maybe there is something else going on here that I dont get...

You should be able to set that in the creation process. There is a display resolution in the Adobe PDF printer properties under the Advanced button. The default is 1200 dpi.

The answer from SAP:
The maximum size of request URI is hard coded in kernel, and it cannot be configured by a parameter. The maximum size of PATH is 4096, and the maximum size of query string is 4096 as well.
If the request is a post request, you have to ask the calling side to move some name value pairs from query string to the POST body.
If it is a GET request, you have to ask the calling side to change it to POST and move value pairs to the POST body.

Page display resolution setting

Many or all CS5 apps would benefit from the same kind of Page Display preferences that Acrobat Pro provides. It allows you to set page display resolution at the pixels per inch setting that will display content at true actual size (100pct viewing). By that I mean an 8.5x11 page on screen is the same size as an 8.5x11 page in your hand. It may be that Acrobat's default "Use system setting" figure (81ppi on my display) is all that's needed to get reasonably close, but InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc., don't have this ability. And Acrobat can be setting to any ppi that gets the job done. Print designers, especially, need true actual size to have a better feel for the scale of the physical piece and design elements on it, notably including type.

That's a fair answer to a load of nonsense ...
1. The original poster was not concerned about pixels, and in fact showed by his very feature request that he was acutely aware of the difference between pixels and real, actual, physical dimensions. The OP did not ask for, nor does he want, measurement in pixels -- in fact, he wants the exact opposite.
2. There is no measurement unit called "pixel". A "pixel" is not a defined distance, and there are no online conversion tools to convert between picas or inches and pixels. If there are, they are a load of nonsense as well.
3. Good news is that CS5 has, yeah!, "pixels" as measurement units. But ... since the pixel is not a really existing unit of measure, it's of no use at all and you might as well pretend (in your mind) what CS5 pretends on the screen: one pixel equals one point.
