Make sure your computer is authorized to play the music you purchased on your computer (Store > Authorize this computer)

Simply click the Redeem link that can be found on the right hand side of theiTunes Store home page in iTunes on your computer, tap the redeem button at the bottom of the featured tab.
Once you’re on the Redeem page, paste the promo code into the field provided and click Redeem.

  • Video podcasts suddenly regarded as music in iTunes: how can I fix this?

    Hi everyone,
OK I've looked around for some time now, but the answer does not seem to be out there.
After a recent iTunes upgrade, all my video podcasts were treated by iTunes as music podcasts.
    What I mean by that:
    - TV icon is missing next to the file in iTunes
    - Right click says "mark as played" instead of "mark as watched"
    - Available Media Kinds are "Music, Podcast, iTunes U, Audiobook & Voice Memo" instead of "Music Video, TV Programe, Film, Podcast & iTunes U"
    - "Part of gapless album" ticking box is not greyed
    - Those files are absent from the "Video Playlists" on my iPod classic
However, video podcasts downloaded after the upgrade behave normally! See image below: first video podcast is fine, the others are not.
This is puzzling me because the old files all have "MPEG-4 video file" as "Kind" and "Podcast" as "Media Kind", just like the new ones.
Anyone knows what's wrong here? and how to fix it?
Thanks a lot for your help
    Romain

Are you talking about using iTunes music for a slide show?  If so you need to go to iTunes, file, library, reorganize files and then it will work.

  • Importing Audiobooks to iTunes-how to get them into "Audiobooks" library?

I own a lot of audio books I want to import into iTunes instead of lugging around the hardware anymore. If I insert a disc, it imports it as a music album, not in the "Audiobooks" section in the Library. I want to import in smallest mp3 size (fidelity is not an issue with audiobooks) and be able to access the files as Audiobooks rather than titled music albums. How do I do this? I can scan the covers, etc, as I do with Music when iTunes doesn't have the right cover art, but still don't know how to access the Audiobooks section in Library.
    Dan Viele, Santa Rosa, Ca.

The definition of what is an Audiobook and what isn't is in the encoding of the tracks - I recall that files with m4a, mp4 or mp3 file extensions are tracks and not audiobook files.
Only files with .m4b can be audiobook files but that still isn't enough - the file properties also have to have their file type set to be audiobook and not music tracks.
Its a PITA but the encoding from aCD has these issues whereas the purchased audiobooks I have from iTunes, come in the right format and end up in the right place.

  • No logical order to Chinese songs in ITunes, how to organize them?

Hi, I have a lot of Chinese songs on my Itunes, and I've noticed that Itunes does not put them into any discernible order. If they are organized, it's at least not by stroke order (characters with fewer strokes before those with more strokes)
I don't know if it's because some names are in simplified Chinese and others are in traditional, or if it's because the characters don't all use the same formatting or something. It's very annoying to try and find a song on my Iphone like this, because the songs are completely disorganized. Any help would be appreciated.

I am having now the same problem Wei343 was having back then. Unfortunately your suggestion did not help me because although it fixed the lists on my computer it does not sync the change into my iPhone, where all the Chinese songs are still in complete disarray, and I AM going insane trying to find songs this way. Is there a way to set the order for sorted lists in the iPhone? Thanks.

  • When I add music to iTunes how can I automatically get the latest songs I've downloaded onto my iPhone when I connect the wire?

I don't know how to do this so I have to currently add the music one by one which is time consuming, Thanks

Hi, next time you do connect your iPhone
CLick on name of iPhone under Devices left column in iTunes   (if no left column showing click on View -Menu Bar>>Show Sidebar)
IF you are adding songs one by one you may have it set to Manually Manage Music change that under Options from Summary Page
From  Summary page for iPhone Sync Settings >>select Music   below Apple top center of iTunes window
Check   Sync Music    select Selected Albums, Artists, Genres and Playlists be sure to have Recents selected under playlists. This will assure that all new music added will sync to iPhone. even better you can always create a new playlist that you manage in iTunes to include only what you want from your iTunes library and have that playlist selected in sync settings for iPhone music.

  • Moving old music into itunes - How??

I have some music on my computer that I've had for a long long time, I want to put it into iTunes so I can have it on my iPad. How do I move it in? I've tried moving the files into iTunes, but they don't show up in my music list.
I saw something on the net saying to go to itunes preferences and to change something in there, but I can't open that either

In iTunes - File>Add to Library.

  • How do I remove music from itunes library but keep them in a separate folder on my mac?

I also wouldn't mind understanding which specific folders the itunes library imports my music from. Does it search my whole computer and automatically add any music files or does it search only a specific folder? Is there a way to tell it which folder to use? Basically I'd like to keep two folders, one that itunes imports and one that is just on my computer and doesn't go to itunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can't.  The reason is because the actual photos are all in the camera roll.  The albums only contain links to these photos, not duplicate photos.  (Albums work like music playlists.  Music playlists also don't contain duplicate songs either; they only contain links to the songs in your music library.)

  • Multiple iphones same apple id, how to seperate them

i have multiple accounts on one apple id, how do I create another and seperate them

if it's a family situtation where you want to all share app and music purchases, you can stay signed into the same apple id in the app store (lots of people do), but you need to sign out of the apple id in imessage and facetime so messages don't get crossed over
you can either create a new apple id at appleid.apple.com, or you can do it on the phone after you've signed out of an apple id. when you tap 'sign in' anywhere that requires an apple id, it should give you the option to create a new apple id

  • HT201269 My Apple ID and icloud ID are being used on 2 different iphones. I can't figure out how to seperate them completely. Can someone help me with this?

I have somehow linked my Apple ID and icloud ID to 2 different iphones. I need help on how to disconnect one of the iphones from my ID and give it a new one. Hopefully without losing all of the saved information on the phone (contacts, pictures, etc)
Can anyone help me with this?

    Hey shelldolfin,
Thanks for the question. To disassociate a phone from your Apple ID and iCloud account, simply sign out of the following services:
    - Settings > iCloud (When prompted, opt to keep the information on your phone)
    - Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
    - Settings > FaceTime
    - Settings > iTunes & App Store
For further information, see this related article. While it refers to what to do after you change your Apple ID, you can use the helpful information to achieve your end goal:

  • 2 Midi Interface - how to seperate them while recording

    Hi
I use a Firewire Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56, which has a bulit in Midi Interface.
    I also have an M-Audio USB Midisport2x2.
I would like to record MIDI DATA from a TD-12 Modul, which is conected through the Liquid Saffire
and also want to record MIDI DATA from a StagePiano using the M-Audio Midisport.
How can I sperate them from each other. I get a whole mix of both.
How can I assign Inst. Track 1 to the Liquid Saffire and
Inst. Track 2 to the M-Audio Midisport?
    Thanks for suggestons and advices
    Martin

on each track, in the inspector, change the port setting to represent your device
make sure each track has a unique midi channel assignment and not set to all
in settings>Recording. there is a check box that says "auto demix by channel if multitrack recording" make sure it is checked
