1) if customer want to implement the exit, say for example, the enhancement SDVFX001, exit EXIT_SAPLV60B_001, then the customer need to create a project in cmod where enhancement SDVFX001 assigned to this new project. correct?
2) how to know what enhancement to assign to which project in cmod?
3) the statement "INCLUDE ZXVVFU01" in EXIT_SAPLV60B_001 is sap standard, right? and we as customer will put our code or our FM in this include, right?

from your question.
1. yes you need to create project in CMOD to activate the enhancement.
2. buy search only you can find them, one thing if you give the same project name that displays message like 'the project is already exist'.
3. correct.
once again the difference between cmod and smod.
1. enchacements are grouped together in an inactive stage in SMOD.
2. You have to active those enhancements by proving project name in CMOD.

DS Enhancement Question !

Hello experts,
I wanted to understand some basic concepts of DataSource Enhancements., I am sorry to put such kind of wide and often asked thread again. But unfortunately i couldnt find clear understanding form the existing Posts and from SAP help site.
Here are my first Phase questions !
1) Can we do Enhancement to All the DS? ?Means those form SAP given and ZDS ?
2) 0DS ( SAP Given ) are build on multiple SAP Tables..Correct ? so if i have to enhance that, where do i specify those Joins of Tables ? The same way when we create ZDS ( View based ) and for view we define conditions and Joins.
3) Which DS are not Enhanceable ? If any ?
4) Can we do enhancement to 2LIS ...DS?
i guess let me first clear these basic questions..and then i have some more for each..

Can we do Enhancement to All the DS
1.standard datasources are usually based on FM and SAP not allow us to change them .So we enhance them by adding some fields in there append structure and then populating them via cmod code .
2.Sometime for Z data sources also we do the same thing if changes in there basic struture are not feasable .
ex: A datasource is based on a view and we just need one more field from some other table then instead of changing view itself we just enhance data source for 1 field .
0DS ( SAP Given ) are build on multiple SAP Tables
Usually they are FM based .
We can't change them .So to enhance them we create an append structure and then add our fields in that .After extraction from FM or Tables CMOD code will get excuted and will populate fields from Append structure .
Which DS are not Enhanceable
All datasurces with a structure can be enhanced .
Can we do enhancement to 2LIS ...DS
yes .You can check lots of threads in SDN for the same .

4) User exits:
       Userexit is a methodology using which we can add our custom code in the SAP Standard transaction without disturbing the SAP Standard code. SAP will provide enhancement for one transaction. We can have more then one enhancement. Enhancement is a container with a set of userexits. SAP will provide only definition of the exit. Which does not contain any standard code. In the relevant transaction program SAP will their exit as a standard. The Userexit needs to be implemented inorder to provide a custom logic to serve business requirement.
   SMOD: It is used to find the enhancement related to different applications.
   CMOD: It is used to implement the userexit.
There are 4 types of exits available:
1)     Function-module Exits,
2)     Menu exits,
3)     Screen exits and
4)     Field exits.
1) Functionmodule exits:
    These exits are used to provide additional functionality to SAP standard transaction. By default SAP is not provided this functionality.
For Example my requirement is, when user create or change customer and the customer belongs to US Country the Industry sector (brsch) field is not empty.
Step1: Find the enhancement. For that one goes to SMOD.
Click on F4 on Enhancement. We Search for enhancement. In this case we can           found the enhancement by giving the Description: mast. We got the enhancement as
SAPMF02D: User exits: Customer master data.
(Or)
We find the enhancement at transaction level,
     Go to XD01 transaction click on System/Status/double click on Program name
     In this program we search for CALL customer-function. We get the all related exits the starts with EXIT_enhancementname_Threedigitnumber. Sometimes it Will not an enhancement name.
Step2: Go to CMOD create the custom project.
           Click on Enhancement assignments button
                 Give the Enhancement name: SAPMF02D
Step 3: Click on Components button. Under that we found the one function module:
EXIT_ SAPMF02D_001. Double Click on that function module. In the Source code tab of this function module SAP provide the one Zinclude. SAP doesnt know our requirement. In this Zinclude we provide our own custom logic to make of the parameters provided in import, export and tables section.
We write the following code:
IF i_kna1-land1 = 'US' AND
i_kna1-brsch = ' .
MESSAGE e001 (f2) WITH Industry sector should not be blank for US Customers.
ENDIF.
Step4: SAVE, CHECH and ACTIVATE the Cutsom project.
Step5: Now go to XD01 Transaction We perform our requirement. After we dont        want that requirement go to CMOD and deactivated the custom project.
BAPI:
   Bapis stored in BOR. These are remotely enabled fms.
we can use BAPI to interact with the legacy systems like
VB, Jav..etc.

Archiving Document Factory output to CMOD

Hi There, In my Documker 12.3 Factory implememtation I want real time archival to be done on CMOD (Content Manager On Demand).
I am not sure if this is possible and if so how? lots of question is arising.... if the the archival will be synchronous, will there be any data loss,do I need to FTP or what method to apply to move the real time data to CMOD, how the gush of data will be handled, how distributor batch will behave so on so fourth... Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Hi there,
There are several ways to make this happen, depending on how your CMOD system can accept data. As you may or may not know, the Archiver component is responsible for outputting documents that have completed processing. It can be configured to drop output print files (e.g. PDF, AFP, etc) to a filesystem, or use FTP/sFTP. In addition, it can be configured to drop metadata files that contain information for use by CMOD for indexing the documents on import. This process, like the rest of Factory processing, is asynchronous since the Scheduler's NotifyArchiver thread periodically checks for work and tells the Archiver when work is available. If real-time processing is desired, the Batchings need to be configured for immediate rather than scheduled - however the end result is the same: whenever print files are ready, the Archiver will process them. The Archiver should update the PUBS record indicating if the delivery was successful.
The configuration of these Archiver is a little beyond the scope of this post, but I invite you to review the documentation for the Archiver worker and then reply back if you have further questions. There are advanced configuration and customization possibilities such as integrating directly with CMOD via web service to push documents/index data, but for this sort of integration you'll likely need to involve consulting services.

I'm working on CRM, BW extraction. I made enhacement for Service Order Header DataSource and written code in MFLOW BADi. Its working good.
Now my question is we can write code in CMOD user exit too for this enhcenement (am I right?).
Then what is the difference? Which one should we have to do??? Any idea or documents? please respond....

BI CMOD Performance

Dear Friends,
I have a performance related question.
We need to develop a report in which Sum of top 5 materials based on delivery quantity has to be displayed monthwise.
Eg: If in January Materials M1 M2 M5 M6 M7 are top 5 in delivery quantity, then the sum of their delivery quantity.
If in Feb Materials M2 M3 M5 M8 M9 are top 5 in delivery quantity, then the sum of their delivery quantity.
and so on till December.
I thought of using condition TOP N on delivery quantity in Bex query. (Pls correct me if i am wrong)
Problem: Top N will work only for one month in a single query. It cant work for different month (different top 5 materials)
Solution Proposed:
1. Make 12 different queries, one for each month (using Top N) and put each result in a workbook.
2. 12 different CMOD variables and cmod code picksup top 5 materials for each month and put in each variables of respective months. Restrict using these cmod variables for respective columns.
So I wanted your valuable suggestions which of the above method will be of good performance (considering maintenance, etc factors) and the reason also.
Approximate number of records 1 lakh per year.
Kindly give ur suggestions.

If your additional field was in an Excel file, it should be uploaded from Flatfile. You can merge both sources by using an ODS

Hi here a short description for virtual key figure or characteristics and own variables (what Klaus means):
1. Virtual Characteristics and Virtual Key figures
- A virtual characteristic / key figure is an object of the InfoCube. The values are derived at query run time.
- Examples:
The SalesRep is derived from Product and Customer. This assignment changes frequently. Therefore the value for the characteristic SalesRep can not be stored in the Cube.
You want to calculate with key figure-type attributes of an InfoObject. E.g. Price is an attribute of Product. Sold-quantity is an object of the InfoCube. You want to see the revenue (Sold-quantity * Price) in your query.
You have an "Open-order-InfoCube". One InfoObject is the Orderdate. You need a list with the number of days btw. the orderdate and today.
How to program a corresonding Include:
1. You must firstly define the characteristics, or key figures within the InfoCube
2. Call up transaction CMOD in the Admin. Workbench
Create a Project
3. Select Enhancement Components
4. Select Enhancement RSR00002
5. Double-click on Exit EXIT_SAPMRSRU_001
6. Double-click on include ZXRSRU02 within the Exit
7. Display or change coding
8. Maintain include ZXRSRTOP
9. Maintain include ZXRSRZZZ
10. Don't forget to activate the Project

Variable based on attributes of another variable (using Exit & CMOD)

Another coding question (while I get the previous one to work!)
I have a query with amongst others, 2 variables.
one is a require year variable in the query only ZREQYEAR
another is a module ZMODULE
ZMODULE have two attributes
   Year of start ZYEAR_START
   Year of end ZYEAR_END
I need to write a enhancement in CMOD which does the following.
When the query runs, it asks the user for a year (ZREQYEAR), lets say they those 2010 for this example.
Based on this, the enhancement needs to populate the variable for ZMODULE with entries where
ZMODULE-ZYEAR_START = 2010
OR
ZMODULE-ZYEAREND = 2010
and then display the query for just these modules.
is this possible? if you can think of better way then I am open!

You can follow the below given steps,
1) You will have to do all the coding in enhancement RSR00001, for using this enhancement you will have to create a project in CMOD transaction and do the coding in the available EXIT.
2) Inside the EXIT write your code for customer exit variable created on ZMODULE (You will have to create a customer exit variable on ZMODULE infoobject).
3) In the exit use your variable name for doing coding,
When "ZMODULE_VARIABLE".
IF I_STEP = 2.
    Loop at i_t_var_range into wa_var_range where vname = "ZREQYEAR_VARNAME".
    wa_data-sign = 'I'.
    wa_data-option = 'EQ'.
    wa_data-low = wa_var_range-low.
    append wa_data to e_t_data.
    EXIT.
    endloop.
    Endif.
The value of ZREQYEAR is assigned to variable created on module. You can use following document for reference,

Scenario
An employee can purchase any no of policies in a day or month.each policy will have start date and expiry date.
My requirment
Count all the policies(valid) by employee on a ranges basis exception reporting
(0-10;10-20;20-30;30-40) and then able to drill down by policy start date and expiry date.
As per the requirment is to show policies that employee had with in the give date intreval which are not yet expired (active) i need to write a condition that will count only policies whose Expiry date is > Current calender day
As Policy Expiry Date is a char i am converting it to KF using fourmala variable so that i can write a condition on it using current cal day formula variable sap exit
Requirment:
Need a code for SAP exit variable which will meet the following requirment
There are the following 2 variables in the query
1) A variable (User Input)(Date Range) on Policy Start Date and
2) Authorisation Variable which is based on Authorisation Object(Analysis Authorisations)

Go to transaction SE11. Then there is one option to copy table. Press that button. Enter the name of the standard table and in the Target table enter Z table name and press enter.

1. What is the use of 'outerjoin'
Ans. With the use of outer join you can join the tables even there is no entry in all the tables used in the view.
In case of inner join there should be an entry in al the tables use in the view.
2. When to use logical database?
Ans. Advantage of Logical databases:
less coding s required to retrieve data compared to normal internel tables.
Tables used LDB are in hierarchial structure.
3. What is the use of 'table index'?
Ans .Index is used for faster access of data base tables.
4. What is the use of 'FOR ALL ENTRIES'?
Ans. To avoid nested select statements we use SELECT FOR ALL ENTRIES statement.
If there r more than 10000 records SELECT FOR ALL ENTRIES is used.
Performance wise SELECT FOR ALL ENTRIES is better to use.

6. What are table buffers?
Table buffers reside locally on each application server in the system. The data of buffered tables can thus be accessed
directly from the buffer of the application server. This avoids the time-consuming process of accessing the database.
Buffering is useful if table needs to be accessed more no. of times in a program.

I was testing a developed object. There are two types of testing
- Negative testing
- Positive testing
In negative testing we will give negative data in input and we check any errors occurs.

We can create a internal table like 'bsgmcgcoll'. All the messages will go to internal table. We can get errors in this internal table.

Call transaction is faster then session method. But usually we use session method in real time...because we can transfer large amount of data from internal table to database and if any errors in a session. Process will not complete until session get correct.

ABAP/4 provides some interactive events on lists such as AT LINE-SELECTION (double click) or AT USER-COMMAND (pressing a button). You can use these events to move through layers of information about individual items in a list.
Drill down report is nothing but interactive report...drilldown means above paragraph only.

Table contains vertical and horizontal lines. We can store the data in table as blocks. We can scroll depends upon your wish. And these all are stored in database (data dictionary).

Cluster table can be used to store control data they can also used to store temporary data or text such as documentation.
17) What is pf-status?
Pf status is used in interactive report for enhancing the functionality. If we go to se41, we can get menus, items and different function keys, which we are using for secondary list in interactive report.
18) Among "Move" and "Move Corresponding", which is efficient one?
I guess, 'move corresponding' is very efficient then 'move' statement. Because usually we use this stamtent for internal table fields only...so if we give move corresponding. Those fields only moving to other place (what ever you want).

1. What is an ABAP data dictionary?- ABAP 4 data dictionary describes the logical structures of the objects used in application development and shows how they are mapped to the underlying relational database in tables/views.
2. What are domains and data element?- Domains:Domain is the central object for describing the technical characteristics of an attribute of an business objects. It describes the value range of the field. Data Element: It is used to describe the semantic definition of the table fields like description the field. Data element describes how a field can be displayed to end-user.
3. What is foreign key relationship?- A relationship which can be defined between tables and must be explicitly defined at field level. Foreign keys are used to ensure the consistency of data. Data entered should be checked against existing data to ensure that there are now contradiction. While defining foreign key relationship cardinality has to be specified. Cardinality mentions how many dependent records or how referenced records are possible.
4. Describe data classes.- Master data: It is the data which is seldomly changed. Transaction data: It is the data which is often changed. Organization data: It is a customizing data which is entered in the system when the system is configured and is then rarely changed. System data:It is the data which R/3 system needs for itself.
5. What are indexes?- Indexes are described as a copy of a database table reduced to specific fields. This data exists in sorted form. This sorting form ease fast access to the field of the tables. In order that other fields are also read, a pointer to the associated record of the actual table are included in the index. Yhe indexes are activated along with the table and are created automatically with it in the database.
6. Difference between transparent tables and pooled tables.- Transparent tables: Transparent tables in the dictionary has a one-to-one relation with the table in database. Its structure corresponds to single database field. Table in the database has the same name as in the dictionary. Transparent table holds application data. Pooled tables. Pooled tables in the dictionary has a many-to-one relation with the table in database. Table in the database has the different name as in the dictionary. Pooled table are stored in table pool at the database level.
7. What is an ABAP/4 Query?- ABAP/4 Query is a powerful tool to generate simple reports without any coding. ABAP/4 Query can generate the following 3 simple reports: Basic List: It is the simple reports. Statistics: Reports with statistical functions like Average, Percentages. Ranked Lists: For analytical reports. - For creating a ABAP/4 Query, programmer has to create user group and a functional group. Functional group can be created using with or without logical database table. Finally, assign user group to functional group. Finally, create a query on the functional group generated.
8. What is BDC programming?- Transferring of large/external/legacy data into SAP system using Batch Input programming. Batch input is a automatic procedure referred to as BDC(Batch Data Communications).The central component of the transfer is a queue file which receives the data vie a batch input programs and groups associated data into sessions.
9. What are the functional modules used in sequence in BDC?- These are the 3 functional modules which are used in a sequence to perform a data transfer successfully using BDC programming: BDC_OPEN_GROUP - Parameters like Name of the client, sessions and user name are specified in this functional modules. BDC_INSERT - It is used to insert the data for one transaction into a session. BDC_CLOSE_GROUP - This is used to close the batch input session.
10. What are internal tables?- Internal tables are a standard data type object which exists only during the runtime of the program. They are used to perform table calculations on subsets of database tables and for re-organising the contents of database tables according to users need.
11. What is ITS? What are the merits of ITS?- ITS is a Internet Transaction Server. ITS forms an interface between HTTP server and R/3 system, which converts screen provided data by the R/3 system into HTML documents and vice-versa. Merits of ITS: A complete web transaction can be developed and tested in R/3 system. All transaction components, including those used by the ITS outside the R/3 system at runtime, can be stored in the R/3 system. Every layout set consists of Header, paragraph, and character string. ABAP/4 program.
15. What is ALV programming in ABAP? When is this grid used in ABAP?- ALV is Application List viewer. Sap provides a set of ALV (ABAP LIST VIEWER) function modules which can be put into use to embellish the output of a report. This set of ALV functions is used to enhance the readability and functionality of any report output. Cases arise in sap when the output of a report contains columns extending more than 255 characters in length. In such cases, this set of ALV functions can help choose selected columns and arrange the different columns from a report output and also save different variants for report display. This is a very efficient tool for dynamically sorting and arranging the columns from a report output. The report output can contain up to 90 columns in the display with the wide array of display options.

This documentation provides you with an overview of how to manage changes with the CTS and essential information on setting up your system and client landscape and deciding on a transport strategy. 18. What are logical databases? What are the advantages/ dis-advantages of logical databases?- To read data from a database tables we use logical database. A logical database provides read-only access to a group of related tables to an ABAP/4 program. Advantages: i)check functions which check that user input is complete, correct,and plausible. ii)Meaningful data selection. iii)central authorization checks for database accesses. iv)good read access performance while retaining the hierarchical data view determined by the application logic. dis advantages: i)If you donot specify a logical database in the program attributes,the GET events never occur. ii)There is no ENDGET command,so the code block associated with an event ends with the next event statement (such as another GET or an END-OF-SELECTION).
19. What is a batch input session?- BATCH INPUT SESSION is an intermediate step between internal table and database table. Data along with the action is stored in session ie data for screen fields, to which screen it is passed, program name behind it, and how next screen is processed.
20. How to upload data using CATT ?- These are the steps to be followed to Upload data through CATT: Creation of the CATT test case & recording the sample data input. Download of the source file template. Modification of the source file. Upload of the data from the source file.
21. What is Smart Forms?- Smart Forms allows you to create forms using a graphical design tool with robust functionality, color, and more. Additionally, all new forms developed at SAP will be created with the new Smart Form solution.
22. How can I make a differentiation between dependent and independent data?- Client dependent or independent transfer requirements include client specific or cross client objects in the change requests. Workbench objects like SAPscripts are client specific, some entries in customizing are client independent. If you display the object list for one change request, and then for each object the object attributes, you will find the flag client specific. If one object in the task list has this flag on, then that transport will be client dependent.
23. What is the difference between macro and subroutine? - Macros can only be used in the program the are defined in and only after the definition are expanded at compilation / generation. Subroutines (FORM) can be called from both the program the are defined in and other programs . A MACRO is more or less an abbreviation for some lines of code that are used more than once or twice. A FORM is a local subroutine (which can be called external). A FUNCTION is (more or less) a subroutine that is called external. Since debugging a MACRO is not really possible, prevent the use of them (Ive never used them, but seen them in action). If the subroutine is used only local (called internal) use a FORM. If the subroutine is called external (used by more than one program) use a FUNCTION.

Broadcasting Workbooks Variable Assignments Question

We have several Workbooks that are being broadcast. The majority use Fiscal period and Fical year as input variables. Right now we have to manually go in and update the variable assignments for these broadcast every week.
Question -
Without have to setup a new custom variable in the queries that will default to the current week and year, is there a way to update the broadcast variables automatically with the current fiscal period and year?

As with any normal query - cmod the variable so it defaults to last week, current week based on sy-datlo or sy-datum and then find the last week
The broadcast setting will then fire with whatever has been defaulted
Edit - sorry I just saw your without cmoding how do I do it..
Sorry that's my only suggestion
