2 questions about blog section

Hi,
On my blog section, there are 2 strange things going on. First, the text color on my main blog page is red, and I cannot edit it there, it says I have to edit it on my entries page. I do this, and the red still stays there...any ideas why?
Also, I have 3 blog entries, and on the most recent for some reason it put a thumbnail to the left of the text entry on the main blog page. It didn't do that for the other 2, and I cannot get the thumbnail out of there. If you have any help, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Steve

The appearance of your main blog page is controlled by BlogName.css which you'll find at iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/SiteName/BlogName/BlogName_files. You'll need to open BlogName.css in a text editor (TextEdit is OK provided you have it set to 'Ignore rich text commands in HTML files' on the Open and Save pane in TextEdit Preferences, or you can use TextWrangler, available free from Bare Bones Software).
Search through the file until you find the section which begins
.Summary_Title {
The first line here defines the colour of the Title text in the list of entries on your main blog page. Change the value there to whatever you prefer, save the file back to your iDisk and sync it with .Mac to upload the change there. Open your site in your browser and the Title colour should have changed. You may need to refresh the page (possibly several times) or empty the browser's cache before you see the change.
One caveat: Be sure to save your edited version of BlogName.css on your computer as a backup. Publishing to .Mac will generally leave your edited version untouched, but there's always a risk that the file could be overwritten. You'll know if this has happened when you see the entry titles revert to red. Just copy your backup version of BlogName.css to your iDisk and sync with .Mac again.
You may want to perform a similar edit with Archives.css, which you'll find at iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/SiteName/BlogName.

  • Some questions about this section.

    Hello,
First of all I want to say sorry: "Sorry!" I do not want that this topic will look like a complaint. I just want to clarify some points for me and maybe for everybody (and make this world a little bit better) If you feel bad about this topic or some dislike, just ignore it, I can overcome it)
First of all it is really can be confusing what is going there (in this forum branch) and how to use this. I suggest to create and pin some topic which will explain everything:
     - What type of service do you provide? Just bios unlocking or something else?
     - What is bios unlocking? Give some typical scenarios for using unlocked bios: overclocking, specific options (like "vtd" disabled by default, but I want use it) I suppose you know tons of examples. Give some common list of unlocked features or at least description of what we will have inside unlocked bios.
     - How to make a topic? What should I include in the name of the topic? Notebook model name or also bios?
     - What to put into topic? What information you need? Bios name, bios date, EC version, EC build? Do you need link to the bios file?
     - What is the usual "life cycle" of procedure? Create topic, wait for approve, donate, wait again, say "thank you"
     - How much is the typical amount of donation? If it is "up to you", say at least some typical range like from 5 to 10$. Or at least say that the biggest donation was 314$ (this will be interesting and someone will try to beat it)
And one more personal question from me: Is it so critical to clear CMOS after flashing bios? I mean I have a notebook with warranty sticker and I do not want to remove it. Yes I know it will not void my warranty, but in any case having this sticker will make all warranty things much more easier. And yes I know that flashing unofficial bios theoretically void my warranty, but I see no problem if I would use it for enabling, for example, virtualization in unofficial bios and after that replace factory defected memory. In my opinion it is not connected with bios at all and I should be able to use virtualization and a lot of other hidden option in my notebook (because it is my).
Thank you for your attention, I hope you will grab some useful information from my questions. And yes, you are right, as soon as I will have an answer (or no answer) I am going to request unlocked bios)

No, we won't make a step by step guide as someone needing a modded bios should know what information is needed and what he wants. If not don't ask for a mod bios that isn't covered by warranty and which will leave you with no one else but yourself to blame if something goes wrong. Donation depends on the person modding. If the donation asked is too high for you just say no thanks.
Also bios unlocking is no "service" of the forum but by the person doing it. Simply ask for an unlock wait if someone responds if that is possible and if so ask that person for how much to donate. Shouldn't be that hard and quite easy to guess.
If you are afraid of voiding your warranty this section is most likely not the right section for you. Using unofficial bios versions might end up in having a dead machine without warranty.

  • Questions about BLOG feature and about Google Maps Widget

Hi, just started using iweb & mobileme to take a break from dreamweaver & ISP host (I am so bored with both of them). iWeb 09 seems very VERY cool, but I chose a theme with a blog feature for a blog I am starting for our studio, and it works strangely. The entries are replicated in full on the blog home page, and that does not make sense. Read more? Why, you just read it all! Albeit in smaller print and different layout. But I am sure that I am missing something there:) Also, how do people comment on the articles? I see nothing there!
On google map, I want to add a pin but don't see how using the widget. It only gives me a google known address, which are few and far between in Nepal. So how do I fix that?
    Here is the draft site:

  • Question about deleted sections of multiple layers.

I was adding photos/layers to my file and when I added the most recent layer all of my other layers were affected.  The other layers have giant deleted sections in them and only small portions of other layers show up.  After I added this last photo, my project looks nothing like it did before and I can't get back to it.
Just wondering if there was anything I could do to fix it or be able to step backward?

    Sounds like internal document corruption.
I take it you looked in the History panel and didn't get any joy by clicking an older state.
While it's not unheard of for software bugs to corrupt document data, I'd suggest checking your computer for failures.  Look in the logs and maybe run a RAM diagnostic just to be sure you're not having hardware problems.

  • Question about autodiscover in case of multiple bound namespace

    Hi Experts,
I have a question about the autodiscover behaviour. Let's assume we have the below infrastructure:
    SiteA :
    MBX-Server-SiteA : Member of a DAG
    CAS-Server-SiteA : outlook anywhere url = siteA.domain.com
    SiteB :
    MBX-Server-SiteB : Member of a DAG
    CAS-Server-SiteB-1 : outlook anywhere url = siteB-1.domain.com
    CAS-Server-SiteB-2: outlook anywhere url = siteB-2.domain.com
We have DB-1 and DB-2 that have copies in both MBX servers.
My question is how does exchange select the access URLs to return in the autodiscover process? I know that it depends on where the mailbox is hosted but can't find details about the process in the technet articles.
    Thanks.

There's quite a few details that are involved in the Autodiscover process. First of all - probably the most important thing is that there are 2 stages to the whole process.
In the first stage, the client is simply concerned with getting the address of a CAS server that will help it further. We'll keep things simple and assume your scenario where the client is located inside the network and is domain-joined. The details of the
    LDAP query are detailed in
this link. (At the time I was investigating this I've actually went ahead and ran the queries using the ldp.exe client against the Configuration partition of the respective AD domain - it's worth seeing the actual responses.) An interesting trick here is
the 'keywords' attribute that's stamped on those SCP entries. The reason behind it is that you don't want a client located in a site to go half across the globe in order to connect to a CAS server, when there's one available in its own site. One simple way
to get the 'keywords' attribute stamped is through the Set-ClientAccessServer cmdlet, using the -AutodiscoverSiteScope parameter. In your example, you'd probably want to run it against the CAS server in Site A and specify the name of the corresponding AD site
('SiteA') and correspondingly against the 2 CAS servers in Site B (using 'SiteB'). Once the client has got the response to his query, it will attempt to select one server that's handling the site he's in (essentially it will filter the results based on 'keywords'
-contains <client-site>). Now that we got our endpoint we can go to stage 2.
In stage 2, the client will actually use EWS in order to query the Autodiscover service itself running on our target server. There are 2 possible interfaces of accessing the Autodiscover service: POX (Plain Old XML) and SOAP. POX will be targeting the ../Autodiscover.xml
URLS, while the SOAP one will be using ../Autodiscover.svc URLs. Details about this including some hardcoded parts are
here. What happens next is detailed in point 3, section 2.1 The Autodiscover Process
here. This last link is the key to the whole process:
"It provides a list of CAS that has AutodiscoverSiteScope information set for the
Associated AD site of the Database where the client Mailbox is located."
In other words, the CAS is smart enough to return the URLs belonging to a CAS server in the AD site where the client's mailbox' database is active.
My advice is to test this on your scenario. Tests can be done here first-hand: the Outlook's tray icon Test E-Mail AutoConfiguration can be used or alternatively - if you want to see the details in the communication - SoapUI
for the SOAP access method, for POX there's an extension called 'Postman for Chrome' that can be used. I've used all these in my tests back when I was fighting conflicting results from the articles around the web about Autodiscover.
That's a long way of saying we get the AutoD URL of a CAS server closest to the workstation, which then provides the configuration to use which are the the URLs closest to the mailbox  :)
By all means look at the SOAP response, but Outlook will only use POX.  Lync does SOAP along with other 3rd party apps.
    Cheers,

  • Question about battery life

    Hi everyone,
I got my refurbished MBP 13" mid 2010 model two Friday's ago (July 16) from the Apple online store and I have some questions about the battery life....
Immediately after I got it, I followed all the battery calibration instructions from apple.com/batteries (and did it again after it because I was unsure if I did it properly). While it was charging, I was installing some recommended applications, one being coconutBattery. In the additional information section, it said that my MBP was 7 weeks old, has gone threw 10 battery load cycles, and had a original battery capacity of 97%. I am now at 17 loadcycles, with 94% original battery capacity.
Now to how much time I get with the battery... I have done some testing of my own, such as watching some movies (Tron and Star Trek First Contact, I'm a geek :D), basic web browsing (5 tabs open, reading blogs, watching a couple of 3 minute youtube videos) and listening to an audio book (iWoz) with a tab or two open. The best battery life I have gotten (basic web browsing) was 5 1/2 hours, with 60% LCD brightness, keyboard backlight off, and bluetooth off, with just Chrome and coconutBattery open.
Is this the average battery life for everyone else? I bought this because of its supposedly good battery life, and though I am very happy with my purchase, I just want to make sure that I have a fully working MBP.
    Some other notes:
The battery meter next to the clock sometimes says that 98% is fully charged (I think it is just a glitch)
The estimated battery life is between 9-11 hours when brightness is at 30%-40%, airport and bluetooth is off, and keyboard backlight is off when I am doing text editing.
    Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Forgot to say I have the 2.4ghz 250gb model.

  • Just installed iOS6, questions about "iMessage" and other things...

I've been a satisfied iOS4 user since I bought my iPhone4, but I was forced to install iOS6 tonight in order to download a "free" app. I found a few new icons on the screen along with about 200 percent more "Settings" I'd like to ask some questions about. I'm sure a few of these could be answered by doing a frantic and thorough search through weeks of posts but I'm a little short on time right now.
First, what exactly is iMessage? Looking at the page for it, I can't see any difference between it and regular text messages. The info page says its to avoid charges, but between my data plan and not being charged for text I don't see where theres any other benefit. The one person I text with the most recently asked me why I had not installed iMessage yet, and didn't have an answer when I asked him why I should. I guess he just wanted to see text replies in blue instead of green.
In a related bit, flipping through Settings>Messages>Send & Receive I find a "2 addresses" section, with my phone number in there as well as my email under "You can be reached by iMessage at:" and "Start new conversations from:". What good does it do iMessages to have my email address? Does the Mail app handle text as well as email addresses? That seems to be the only explanation, and also very odd to think I'd be trying to text through my Mail app.
Second, looking through the Settings>Mail I see now that I have an icloud email address as well as the mac.com address I've been desperately hanging on to for the past 10 years, and the me.com address they've been trying to force me into since those came out. (I was happy to see I could delete the me.com address from the phone. I wish I could delete it from the universe.)
I wasn't even aware there was a such thing as icloud.com addresses. When did this happen? What is it used for?
Third, under that icloud Setting I see a long list of apps with buttons labeled "Off" under it. What are those for? Under the Mac.com settings I see switches for "Mail" and "Notes", with Mail on and Notes off. The Notes app (which I haven't used since my old iPhone 3) still opens, regardless of this setting.
Fourth, I now have an item called "Facetime" under my Settings. It is off, but underneath it says "Your phone number and/or email address will be shared with people you call". I understand caller ID normally sends caller number info to the receiver, but why would someone need my email address if I call them?
Fifth, I now have a "Music" setting, at the bottom of which I see a "Home Sharing" item, which when clicked brings up my AppleID and asks me if I want to Sign Out or Cancel. What is Home Sharing? Its also at the bottom of the "Video" settings.
Sixth, now I have Twitter and Facebook settings? For what? I don't have accounts with either of those companies. So why have settings, especially since it asks me to create accounts and download apps for those companies right in the Settings?
Seventh, there is a camera icon on the unlock screen. Touching it causes the screen to bounce up about a quarter inch, almost but not quite revealing something behind it. I should probably just quit asking about this stuff already, but I'll take the bait - what is this now?
Finally, what is the Notification Center used for?
If I got a text under iOS4, it would put an alert on the Unlock screen. Scrolling through this huge list of things under the Notification settings I'm really blown away by all the apps set up to yell at me. I can see having an alert for a text message but Game Center? What the heck is that, and why is it set up to hit me with a "Badge App Icon" (whatever that is) when I get alerts from "Everyone". Similarly, the phone is set to alert me to something called a "Photostream Alert"? What is this? Why is there a Phone section for the Notification Center? So they can put a Notice on my screen to tell me the phone is ringing? Holy cow! The phone is set to send me alerts from the "Weather Widget". So if I miss the fact its raining there will be a message on my screen to let me know? Whats next - a buzzer to tell me I'm listening to music?
There's a lot more, like what would I need Passbook for when I have the actual movie tickets, gate boarding passes, coupons, etc in my hands, but we'll leave that for another time. Many thanks to all who can offer some answers to my questions above.

  • Questions about using Bitlocker without TPM

We currently use Bitlocker to encrypt our Windows 7 computers with TPM. Now we are looking at encrypting some Windows 7 computers without a TPM. I see how to change the group policy setting to allow Bitlocker without a TPM. I have looked at a lot of other
threads and I have a few questions about how the Bitlocker without TPM works.
    1) I see a USB drive containing a key is required for Bitlocker configurations without a TPM, say the end user loses this USB drive, what are the recovery options for their computer?
This article seems to indicate that without the USB drive connected, you are unable to even access recovery options http://blogs.technet.com/b/hugofe/archive/2010/10/29/bitlocker-without-tpm.aspx
We have recovery backed up to AD when Bitlocker is enabled, but how could we do this recovery on a computer on computer where it's USB is lost? Would we have to remove the HD itself and attach it to another computer to access?
    2) After enabling Bitlocker on a computer without a TPM and using the USB Drive for the key, is there a way to also add a PIN or password protection at bootup?

    Hi,
    Sorry for my dilatory reply,
Configuring a startup key is another method to enable a higher level of security with the TPM. The startup key is a key stored on a USB flash drive, and the USB flash drive must be inserted every time the computer starts. The startup key is used to provide
another factor of authentication in conjunction with TPM authentication. To use a USB flash drive as a startup key, the USB flash drive must be formatted by using the NTFS, FAT, or FAT32 file system.
You must have a startup key to use BitLocker on a non-TPM computer.

  • Some questions about configuration in MAX.

    Hello,everyone!
I have some questions about configuration in MAX(I am a jackaroo for motion control development),I hope I can get your help.
    I use PCI-7344+UMI-7764+Servo amplifier+Servo motor,my MAX version is 4.2 and I use NI-Motion7.5
    My question as following:
    1,In Axis Configuration,for motor type,why I must select stepper but not servo?my motor is servo motor!If I select Servo,my motor can't run,I don't know why.
If I select stepper, though motor can work but I can't test encoder in MAX.
    2,In Stepper settings,for stepper loop mode,why I must select open-loop but not close-loop?If I select close-loop,the servo motor doesn't work too.
3,If I want my two servo motors run at different velocity,How shoud I do?It seems I just can set the same velocity in MAX for my two servo motors.
My English is poor,Pls pardon me!I come from China.

    Hi,Jochen,
Thank you for your kindly help!
The manufacturer of the drive and motor that I am using now is Japan SANYO DENKI,drive type is RS1A01AA,motor type is R2AA06020FXP00.
And I use position control mode, thehe encoder's counts per revolution is 131072.I set the electronic gear ratio to 1:1 for drive.
Now,I can use Close-Loop to control the motor but still has some problems. When I configure it to run in closed loop mode, the motors behave strangely and never move to the target position. When I configure it to run in closed loop mode, the motors behave strangely and never move to the target position. The detail situation is as following
    1,Motor can't run.
2, Or motor moves to a position, then moves in the same direction agian and eventually stops.
Except for the  two points mentioned above,"Following Error" is  occured frequently,I don't know why.
I am still not clear why I must set the motor type be stepper in MAX .
And I have another question:what the relationship between the steps and the counts? They have the proportion relations?I notice that there are a section said like this in help document: For proper closed-loop and p-command operation, steps per revolution/counts per revolution must be in the range of 1/32,767 < steps/counts < 32,767. An incorrect counts to steps ratio can result in failure to reach the target position and erroneous closed-loop stepper operation.
I am verry sorry I have too many questions!
I am very appreciate for your kingly help! Thanks again!

  • Two questions about SG300 DHCP server

    Hi,
I have two questions about the DHCP server on the SG300:
On the Address Binding page, what does the "Declined" state mean? I have a NAS device that won't pull an address, and I think that the entry with a state of "Declined" corresponds to this device. It was previously pulling an address from a RV180, so the only difference is that it is now connected to the SG300. I worked around this by manually setting the address on the NAS device, but this won't scale if I run into a lot of other devices that can't pull an address.
I configured a static address binding for a WAP321 and found that instead of pulling the configured address that it pulled a dynamic address. I checked the Address Binding page and see that the dynamic entry that corresponds with the WAP321 has a Client Identifier rather than a MAC address. I changed the static entry for the WAP321 to use the client identifier displayed in the dynamic entry, and now the WAP321 pulls the configured static address. Is this expected behavior?
    Thanks,
    Bob

With the SX300/500 it is required the client identifier, it doesn't automatically insert it. If static DHCP is made on the switch and you didn't need client identifier, that is more or less fortunate behavior for you
So to answer this question, the expected behavior is to configure client identifier for static DHCP entry.

  • Two questions about the new iWeb

    Hi
I've got two questions about the new iWeb.
    1. Is it possible to blog online now? Meaning adding a new blog entry without having to be on your own Mac? This is a feature I've been waiting for since iWeb first was released.
    2. Is it possible to choose the format of images? Earlier editions had the option to "optimize" images but that meant it changed it into .png meaning the site got a lot heavier than if .jpg was used. And since I have relatives who still only have an isdn connection I need to be able to have the website as light as possible.
    thanks

Ah well... thanks for the quick answer

  • Question about Kurts comments discussing the seperation of AIA & CDP - Test Lab Guide: Deploying an AD CS Two-Tier PKI Hierarchy - Kurt L Hudson MSFT

Question about the sentence in bold. What is the meaning behind this comment?
How would you separate the role of the AIA and CDP from a CA subordinate server? I can see where I add a CES and CEP server which has those as well, but I don't completely understand his comment. Because in this second step, (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/tlg-key-based-renewal.aspx)
he shows how to implement CES and CEP.
This is from the guide located at: http://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh831348.aspx
Step 3: Configure APP1 to distribute certificates and CRLs
In the extensions of the root CA, it was stated that the CRL from the root CA would be available via http://www.contoso.com/pki. Currently, there is not a PKI virtual directory on APP1, so one must be created.
In a production environment, you would typically separate the issuing CA role from the role of hosting the AIA and CDP.
However, this lab combines both in order to reduce the number of resources needed to complete the lab.
    Thanks,
    James

My concern is, they have a 2-3k base of xp systems, over this year they are migrating them to Windows 7. During this time they will also be upgrading hardware for the existing windows 7 machines. The turnover of certificates are going to be high, which
from what I've read here, it worries me.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2009/06/24/implementing-an-ocsp-responder-part-i-introducing-ocsp.aspx
The application then can go to those locations to download the CRL. There are, however, some potential issues with this scenario. CRLs over time can get rather large
depending on the number of certificates issued and revoked. If CRLs grow to a large size, and many clients have to download CRLs, this can have a negative impact on network performance. More importantly, by
default Windows clients will timeout after 15 seconds while trying to download a CRL. Additionally,
CRLs have information about every currently valid certificate that has been revoked, which is an excessive amount of data given the fact that an application may only need the revocation status for a few certificates. So,
aside from downloading the CRL, the application or the OS has to parse the CRL and find a match for the serial number of the certificate that has been revoked.
With the above limitations, which mostly revolve around scalability, it is clear that there are some drawbacks to using CRLs. Hence, the introduction of Online Certificate
Status Protocol (OCSP). OCSP reduces the overhead associated with CRLs. There are server/client components to OCSP: The OCSP responder, which is the server component, and the OCSP Client. The OCSP Responder accepts status
requests from OCSP Clients. When the OCSP Responder receives the request from the client it then needs to determine the status of the certificate using the serial number presented by the client. First the OCSP Responder determines if it has any cached responses
for the same request. If it does, it can then send that response to the client. If there is no cached response, the OCSP Responder then checks to see if it has the CRL issued by the CA cached locally on the OCSP. If it does, it can check the revocation status
locally, and send a response to the client stating whether the certificate is valid or revoked. The response is signed by the OCSP Signing Certificate that is selected during installation. If the OCSP does not have the CRL cached locally, the OCSP Responder
can retrieve the CRL from the CDP locations listed in the certificate. The OCSP Responder then can parse the CRL to determine the revocation status, and send the appropriate response to the client.

    thank you all for helping.
I will write more information about my questions may this help others:
    *{ /WEB-INF/web.xml* - The +Web Application Deployment
Descriptor+ for your application. This is an XML file describing
the servlets and other components that make up your application,
along with any initialization parameters and container-managed
security constraints that you want the server to enforce for you.
This file is discussed in more detail in the following subsection.
As mentioned above, the <code>/WEB-INF/web.xml</code> file contains the
Web Application Deployment Descriptor for your application. As the filename
extension implies, this file is an XML document, and defines everything about
your application that a server needs to know (except the context path,
which is assigned by the system administrator when the application is
    deployed).
The complete syntax and semantics for the deployment descriptor is defined
in Chapter 13 of the Servlet API Specification, version 2.3. Over time, it
is expected that development tools will be provided that create and edit the
deployment descriptor for you. In the meantime, to provide a starting point,
    a [basic web.xml file|http://localhost:8080/docs/appdev/web.xml.txt]
is provided. This file includes comments that describe the purpose of each
    included element.
NOTE - The Servlet Specification includes a Document
Type Descriptor (DTD) for the web application deployment descriptor, and
Tomcat 6 enforces the rules defined here when processing your application's
<code>/WEB-INF/web.xml</code> file. In particular, you must
enter your descriptor elements (such as <code><filter></code>,
    <code><servlet></code>, and <code><servlet-mapping></code> in
the order defined by the DTD (see Section 13.3).

    Tomcat Context Descriptor
bq. A /META-INF/context.xml file can be used to define Tomcat specific \\ configuration options, such as loggers, data sources, session manager \\ configuration and more. This XML file must contain one Context element, which \\ will be considered as if it was the child of the Host element corresponding \\ to the Host to which the The Tomcat configuration documentation contains \\ information on the Context element.

but I still want more information about this question:
Q3: I want to distribute (sell to another organaization) without give sorce code in jsp files. So I want to precompile it to be just class files or jar files.
I want to use ant that become with netbeans 6.1.can anyone give me information about how to do that.
    thank you again

It recently came to my attention that the answer to that simple question may not be obvious...
I hope the information provided there
