2  questions on BRF workflow for SC

Hello All
I have 2 questions on BRF workflow as follows:
1) My requirement is that the PO be created only after all the items in the Shopping cart (from all decision sets) are approved by separate agents. How do I enforce this using BRF ?The closest is  Decision Type 3: Overall Decision for Partial Document (.The decision applies to the entire decision set)
2) IS it possible to send an approval work item to multiple agents ( Based on a role or custom attribute) and then the work item could be approved by any one of those agents which completes the workflow & deletes all other work items ?

     PO can only be created only if all approver's approve the SC.  it will be great if you give more details about the requirement.

  Yes - a workitem could be sent to multiple approver's for a decision set, once any one of the appprover approve the SC, the workitem will be deleted automatically from rest of approver's UWL..

  • Single Step approval BRF Workflow for RFx.

    Hi,
    I am facing one problem in process controlled workflow for RFx. I have the scenario where I have only one approver but 7-8 reviewer are there in between of approver and initiator for example:
    Initiator >reviewer1>reviewer2->reviewer3->....reviewer8-->approver.
    For acheiving this I have activated standard single step approval workflow.
    But while I am trying to add reviewers to the RFx at the time of creation of RFx the system is not shwing the reviewers. it gets refreshed only reviewers line is added to the reviewers Tab but system did not display any reviewer.
    And while I publish the RFx it directly goes to the approver and while i tried to add the reviewer from approver end the same problem is coming.
    Please help me. How I cam achieve this functionality.

    Thanks For your reply. I want to add reviewers at the time of creation of RFx not ad-hoc approvers.
    As I explain in my question that I have only one approver in whole approval process rest all are the reviewers only who only do the review and add comments not the approving authority.

  • Question about GENERAL WORKFLOW FOR DELIVERING DOLBY 5.1 FILE

    what I have usually done with my videos is to export omf to logic , and mixed in 5.1, from there i bounce in multichannel audio file, and open it i compressor and create there my AC3 file.
    is that all to get a professional accepted DOLBY DIGITAL FILE AUDIO file?
    what is real professional workflow used in feature films and main studios? I SEE hardwares around as dolby e  etc
    please help me to clear my confusion

    I've tried this myself and have had no luck with the resulting blu-ray 5.1 mix.   When I import a 5.1 AC3 file into Encore as an asset and create a new Audio track, or when I open a Premiere CS5 project with a 5.1 master audio track and use dynamic link to send it to Encore, it always mixes it down as a stereo blu-ray.  
    I have the SurCode plug in activated as well.   The blu ray file folder "STREAM" contains a file that I've tried importing into Premiere and when you look at the audio track it's always stereo, never 5.1

    First of all
    I don't normally work with SAP security and authorizations, so please tell me if my question is in wrong forum.
    My question
    Does any Workflow for authorization requests exist.
    If I search SDN and google, I get lots of hits about authorization for workflow, but what I search is workflow for authorization requests.
    Background
    I often observe time wasting discussions about "who should have authorization for what", and I think this is caused by lack of well defined procedures describing the business rules and process for granting authorizations to a specific user.
    Of course I understand the need for a more overall design and implementation of authorizations, but at the same time I observe, that a very common scenario is, that a new or existing employee is asked to take care of some business task or maybe a system maintenance task like customizing, but the user don't have the correct authorizations to perform this specific task.
    So
    Does any standard workflow exist for handling the process of requesting, approving and implementing authorizations?
    Or is there a better approach to this problem?

    Hi,
    if you mean a request for new role assignment then there is no standard SAP workflow for this. You could implement. SAP offers other tools that can help you to achieve this. GRC suite has a tool for role approvals and it's super easy to implement approval workflow in SAP IdM. 3rd party IdM solutions have workflow capabilities as well. External tools such as SAP IdM allow you to perform role assignment over multiple SAP and non-SAP systems (there are other benefits as well).
    If you mean request to add missing authorization object to already existing role then I don't  think there is a need for workflow. In stable environment this should not happen very often and you still have to create/modify security role in DEV and then posh it through QA environment to production.

  • BRF Workflow Error.

    Hi Experts,
    I have activated one step BRF Workflow for SC.
    On Ordering the SC work item is available in Managers queue.
    If I click on details on the workitem I am getting portal error with message "Assert Condition Violated".
    I can able to approve dirrectly in the work overview screen with out opening the SC.
    Kindly help me in this regard.
    Also in SLG1 transaction there are some warring messages related to some expresions with message "get discription error".

  • SRM 7.0 EHP1 - new functions for BRF workflows

    Hi all,
    We currently upgraded our SRM 5.0 system to SRM 7.0.
    We need some inputs whether to activate the EHP1 for SRM 7.0
    Are there any limitations in terms of BRF workflows which are now covered in SRM 7.0 EHP1?
    In SRM 5.0,we were using n step header level approval workflow using the BADI and custom tables for approval determination.
    We need to map the same in SRM 7.0 now but wanted to know the limitations in terms of any new functionalituies which can be used in terms of Shoppign cart workflow in SRM 7 EHP1 v/s SRM 7.0 SP10.
    I read in one of the posts in the forum that parallel processing for BRF workflows is not supported in SRM 7.0 EHP1.Please advise.

    We are having lot of issues with the ACW in SRM 5.0 and hence plan to reimplement the workflow in SRM 7.0 using the process controlled workflows plus the new features introduced for workflow.
    Can you please advise if ACW are better than PCW or vice-versa??
    I dnt have the link for the post but cans someone confirm if parallel processing is supported in SRM 7.0 EHP1 workflows??
    Are there any shortcomings in terms of the BRF workflows in SRM 7.0 EHP1?

  • Brf+ workflow configuration based on field values of UI

    Hello Experts,
    I would like to know if we can configure the BRF+ workflow steps for material to go to certain users based on certain values from UI fields . For example a particular material type (FERT) should go to specific processor . Can I add material type column in BRF+ for materials and assign specific material type values and assign users to that step. Is this possible?.

  • Specs and workflow for creating opening/closing titles for video

    I'm trying to create specs/workflow for videos that I will be adding opening and closing titles to (black background with colored text), using QuickTime Player 7 (Pro).
    The videos are .mov, AVC coding, 1280x720, millions, 30fps, a sample video had a data rate of 7,463 kbits/second.
    I created 1280x720 300dpi (perhaps I should have used 72dpi?), saved as a .jpg (highest quality), then copied the .jpg contents into a QuickTime Player 7 (Pro) blank document multiple times until I had enough frames for my need. The resultant video was very large; 339,743 kbps/second. I then exported to H.264, which brings the data rate down to only 214 kbits/second (and looks fine) and then copied that into the head of my AVC coding video.
    Questions:
    1) When I exported to H.264, the x pixels increased by 6, to 1286. After pasting that video into the AVC coding (1280x720) video, the resultant movie is 1280x720. Did my graphic get compressed by 6 pixels horizontally?
    2) Does my method of converting the huge graphic movie to H.264, and then pasting it into the AVC coding make sense? The combined video has AVC coding, according to Movie Inspector; does the H.264 of the graphic get converted automatically? Any better way to approach creating my titles?
    Note: these AVC coding videos may get converted to H.264 for some use, but for now, I'm keeping the highest quality (source) video I have to work with.

    Sorry, I posted my thread then realized I left out a bit of info, but couldn't edit the post. I should have written that I created my graphics file in PhotoShop, hence the dpi reference.

    OK. The portion of my video with titling stands by itself; that is, I'm not overlaying titles on existing video. Is there a use for alpha channel if I'm working up standalone title video frames? Uses less data rate?
    It seems from your inference I would be best served by purchasing FCP, so I'll probably take that advice and buy it.
    From a general video production point of view, I'd still like to learn more about creating titles in a graphics app and bringing them into QT Player; what format to bring them in as (e.g., H.264 into an AVC coding video, as I've done, or ?), and what happens when my graphics video gets converted from 1280x720 to 1286x780 (AVC export to H.264), and then brought into an AVC codec movie, and the movie remains at 1280x720-- does the graphic get horizontally widened, or the vertical compressed?   • How to schedule a workflow for recurring executions: The solution

    Scheduling a workflow for recurring execution has been long awaited in WFA, perhaps from 2.0 time. The following document shows how to get it done. I've also explained the logic behind it. It’s very simple to use, meets every requirement which one can have from a scheduler and of course highly flexible. Let's go!! The Real stuff. What is this? Is this actually a scheduler? No. This is actually a command in your workflow, but a special 'magical' command. This 'magical' command logic is built using the answers for the following questions: Can a workflow be scheduled for a delayed execution in a future time? Yes, but only one execution instance. If you want the next execution, execute the workflow again providing the same set of inputs and the execution date/time.During workflow execution, can a command inside a workflow get to know what is the  name of the workflow? YesDuring workflow execution, can the command know what is the job execution id? YesIs there any programmatic interface available to know what are the user input provided or a particular job execution? YesCan a command inside a workflow trigger another workflow? Yes.Can a command inside the same workflow trigger itself? Absolutely yes. I've ticked all boxes needed to build such a solution. The solution is to make the workflow a smart workflow, so smart that it can schedule itself for the next execution. It no longer needs any other task scheduler to tigger it. WFA provides a large set of REST APIs for other 3rd part SW integration. But I  also can make  good use of these APIs to make smart workflows. I have always believed that WFA should not only be seen as a framework for automating Storage boxes or server, but just about any task( inside a computer of course) which is done manually. WFA is an awesome product indeed.  So this is a command called "Workflow Scheduler" which  you can put in your workflow as another command. Prerequisites: You need PowerShell 3.0 on your WFA server. I certainly could have done it for PoSH2.0 as well, but life for web interfaces  using PowerShell is so much easier with Posh3.0. Posh3.0 is a big jump from 2.0. WFA is fully supported to work on Posh3.0. Its available by default in Win2012, Win2008 can be upgraded, Win2003 users can't use it. Add credentials of a WFA Admin/Architect in you WFA itself with Name/IP: localhost Match: ExactType: OtherName/IP: localhostUsername: <WFA Admin/Architect Username>Password: <User Password>   3.  Minimum WFA version 2.2. This is only needed for Importing the dar. I've provided the command code in text too. The command code is the real deal. How to use it? If you have a workflow which you want for recurring executions, just add this command "Workflow Scheduler" in it. The command takes parameters for the workflow execution intervals. For example minsInterval for executing this workflow every x minutes, or daysInterval for executing the workflow etc.Now just like a normal workflow execution execute this workflow deciding what is the trigger time. Example: Suppose you want the execution every day at 10:00 PM.So provide daysInterval = 1 And execute the workflow for a delayed execution at 10:00 PM. You can pick the day to start as you wish. The workflow will execute at 10:00 PM and when this execution reaches our magical command "workflow scheduler", this command will trigger the same workflow  with same set of inputs for the next execution at 10:00 PM tomorrow. And so on an so forth. I’ve attached a very simple example workflow here to help you understand. An Example of a workflow scheduled for recurring execution Daily at 11:30 PM starting 10-March-2015     How to stop/suspend this recurring execution? Easy. You just abort the next scheduled job execution in Execution=> Execution Status. The cycle will stop. How to resume it? Easy again. Just resume the same aborted job. The cycle restarts. Can I change the schedule execution time? Yes. After aborting the current execution, you can resume the same workflow at a new time. Execution interval can't be modified as you can't change the command parameters. But the recurring execution now can occur at a new time. Where or which position to place this “workflow scheduler” command in your workflow? At the beginning ? At the end? Or somewhere in the middle. This completely depends on your choice. See some below cases. You don't want the next job execution scheduling to happen if any of the commands in my current workflow execution fails: Put command “workflow scheduler” in the end. It will trigger the schedule of the next job execution only when all real original commands of your workflow have passed. else not.     You want continuous job executions irrespective of the workflow command failures: Put it in the beginning. It will trigger the schedule for next execution before any of the actual command begin executing.     You want an approval before the next execution job is scheduled: Add an approval point before the comamnd.           So it’s all left to you.      Can an operator decide the execution schedule? Yes, but which workflows will be available to him/her for this recurring execution will have to be decided by the designer. This is a good thing to have as it serves for access control in a way. The Architect/Admin can now restrict which workflow can be put for recurring executions. Operators can’t execute just any workflow available to him for automatic recurring execution. And the workflow designer can also choose which scheduling parameter is to be made a variable for the operator. For example the designer want the operator to schedule a given workflow only for weeks Interval and not months or days i.e. he/she can only chose to schedule for weekly, biweekly etc. executions and  nothing else. For this the designer can define a User-Input variable only for weeksInterval parameter. It’s Done. You want workflow execution to be scheduled either for daily or once in 2 days but not any other. You can restrict this. Or he/she wants to give full freedom to the operator make his/her own decision about scheduling, he defined user-input variable for all scheduling parameters. The workflow designer wants weekly schedule but the day should not be a weekday: You can even do this. Is this flexible enough for my requirements? I’ve attached the very command code. You can modify the command as per your requirements. Suppose you want daily execution of a certain workflow at 10:00 PM but skip a day of execution if the day is a Monday. Modify the code check for the day and add another day if it’s a Monday. Its posh code and highly readable. So you can see how this can be used in a  variety of ways. This is the beauty of a programmatic solution. Its highly flexible, it allows users to design solution based on their requirements. Flexibility is the heart & soul of WFA. Thats why I like it. I have a workflow but I don't want to modify it by adding a new command in it. Can I still use this solution? Yes but with WFA 3.0 on wards. WFA3.0 allows to create modular workflows. Create a parent workflow with you actual workflow as a child workflow in it. Add our “workflow scheduler” command too. So now you don't need to touch your existing workflow. I've attached a workflow example here.   Have fun!! sinhaa

    Hi,
    Why do you want to trigger a wflow and what do you want to do with this trigger. Can you give more details of your exact requirements.
    But, if you are looking for how to trigger, you can write a small ABAP pgm and schedule it as a job every night. THis job basically reads the table P1000-ENDDA for expiry date and if it reached today, then you can either trigger the wflow with SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW or use SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT to raise your custom event(for Business Obj. BUS7018, i think this is your BO and there are no std events right now, so you will ahve to add your custom event by extending BUS7018 to ZBUS7018).

  • Can someone check my workflow for video editing?

    I have a question about my workflow with my Adobe Products.  I'm hoping someone can check my workflow.
    I feel like I understand most of this process but I have a few questions listed below.
    If someone could please read and tell me where I might be able to speed up my workflow I would be appreciative.

    Questions-
    • Why do my exports take so long with Premiere and Media Encoder?
    • Why does Premier take anywhere from 5-10 minutes to fully load my projects?
    • Why does Premier take so long to load my previously rendered preview files?
    • Are my settings OK with Media Encoder?
    • Why can't I get Media Encoder to export higher than a resolution of 786x524 for MP4?
    Computer Specs:
    MacPro, 2.8 Quad Core, 10GB RAM, ATI Radeaon HD 5770 1024MB, Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9.5
    Software: Using Adobe CS 6 software,
    A typical project for me:
    Resolution 1000 x 563px, 10 minutes long, to be played/viewed on the Web.
    My workflow and settings in more detail:
    • I usually start in After Effects then move the AE comps into Premiere and edit with many other clips, then export to ProRes, finally I compress that ProRes file (Adobe Media Encoder) to a variety of necessary formats.
    I start with After Effects and create about 20 or 30 projects, each is anywhere from 5 seconds to 30 seconds long.
    I start a new Premier Project (Preview Files set to QT, H.264, 1000x563px) and import the AE comps directly into Premiere.Premiere has to render my AE comps but I like the flexibility of being able to "go-back" and alter my AE file, it auto updates in Premiere
    I edit all my clips in Premiere, my entire timeline is rendered and has the Green Line.Anytime I close my project and reopen it. Premiere takes about 5-10 minutes to load the project.  Premiere initially opens quickly but takes a long time to link up all the rendered preview files.  This seems way too long
    Upon finalizing my project in Premiere I export out to ProRes 422.
    Settings For this is: Export Video, Same Resolution as project, Quality 100%, 30fps, Progressive, Square Pix, 24bit, Use Max Render Quality, Use Frame Blending.
    For my 10 minute animation this takes about 45 minutes. I feel like that's OK.  My AE clips can be a bit heavy with stills, particles, effete and etc
    This results in about a 11GB ProRes file.  Does that sound right?
    I now have a fantastic ProRes  copy of my hard earned work.... but I need to encode it to get it on the web, to clients, to friends, to the Universe.
    I import this file into Adobe Media Encoder.  I need to get this into 3 different formats, .H264, FLV and .MP4.  This processes usually take about 12 hrs for me.  Seems too long.
    MP4 settings: Multiplexer MP4/ Standard, Dimensions I can't get them above 786x524 this is frustrating, Level: Advanced Level 5, VBR 1pass 1,500
    FLV Settings: Format FLV, Dimensions 1000x563, VBR 2 pass, Bitrate 1,200, default target rates and Key Frame
    h.264 settings: Codec H.264, Dimensions 1000x563, 30fps, Progressive, Square Pix, Optimized Stills, Bit Rate 1,500
    That's about it.

    You're missing the JSTL JAR's in the classpath.

  • Workflow for Document Approval

    Hi all,
    I'm a newbie to SolMan and is trying to figure out how to implement a workflow for document approval. A similar question has probably been posted in the past, but I can't find a definite solution, only some hints.
    Basically, what we're trying to achieve is the following:
    When a document is uploaded using SOLAR02, and the creator of the document changes the status to ready for sign-off, we would like to trigger a workflow which will send an email to a couple of persons who are responsible to approve the document. We already implement the digital signature, we just want to add an automatic email notification to be sent to the approvers.
    Based on my research, it seems that this is not supported by SolMan and hence we have to do a custom development.
    There's an object key called SOLMANDOC and we should raise an event (something like SIGNATURE_PROCESS_START) to send an email notification to the approvers. Can somebody confirm whether my understanding is right ? Does anybody know the name of the BADI that we can modify to achieve our goal ? 
    FYI, we're using SolMan Rel 7.01 SP 19.

    I created two roles with object c_sign_bpr one with the value "EING"   and the other with the value "VERIF"
    I assign this status scheme to a document type in my project.
    I tried to release a document the first step was the author of the document move the status to "REVIEW" and I got a window that i need to enter my password and it worked ok.
    The problem is in the second step that I need to release the document (now is in a REVIEW status) When I press on the icon in order to release I didn't get the option to release only to cancel there is no "V" option in the small window.
    Can you please tell me if I did a correct customization? also can you tell me if my problem is maybe missing authorization? Can you direct me to reading material or to an example?

  • What is the best workflow for Final Cut Pro X across multiple computers?

    I travel on a team that is in a different location every week, so all of our video editing has to be fairly moble. We have 3 macbook pros and would like to use final cut X on all of them. What would be the best workflow for us all to work on the same project and sync it across the computers? (eg, one of us editing the footage, one editing the sound, one working on visual effects?)

    My first question would be how well 5.1 would work with SL. People have reported problems.
    As far as cameras are concerned, I would guess most any tape-based camera would work and so much depends on the kind of projects you work on that I wouldn't want to start guessing at your needs.
    If you want broad access to tapeless and advanced formats try to locate and purchase an upgrade disk to 6 or 7.

    I've searched for a solution for the below question in several forums and to no avail. Thanks in advance for any help!
    What is the easiest workflow for editing Logic Pro 8 audio files with Soundtrack Pro 2? And I'm thinking of a process very similar to the Final Cut Pro timeline audio-to- Soundtrack Pro Audio File project workflow.
    I'd imagine that a good amount of the time, I'd be editing regions rather than full audio files -- as in, once in a while, while mixing sessions that another engineer has tracked, I'll hear clicks and pops from pre-amps clipping; or I'll hear an air conditioner blower running or something.
    Basically, I occasionally hear noise in the arrange window while mixing that I'd like to edit out with Soundtrack Pro, and I need to know the easiest way to send that audio clip to Soundtrack Pro and then back to Final Cut Pro.

    Connecting your FS Mobile to powered speakers will not increase latency. Latency is simply the fixed amount of time it takes for your computer to process sounds. Once the sound is processed and available at the outputs of the FS Mobile, it can go anywhere; to a PA mixer, a separate monitor mixer, headphones, etc. One thing you will want to consider when playing live is to have a personal monitor very close to you and pretty loud. The reason being is that the physical distance between you and the main PA speakers will itself induce a type of latency since sound travels at about 1126 ft/sec or 1000 msec of delay for every 1126 feet. Adding this delay to your latency could make holding a groove or pitch for that matter nearly impossible. The delays add up pretty quickly. For example, if your speakers are say 50 feet away from you, you would likely have around 20 msec of delay right there. Add this to your system latency of 20 msec and your up to 40 msec which is like trying to play a rubber guitar underwater. Even if your PA speakers are closer, the delays add up quickly. So having that nice loud monitor right up next to you will insure that you only have to get the feel of your system latency.
