2 rings before unit answers

Hello,
When I call my phone number I hear 2 rings before the uc320w picks up the line and streams the welcome message. Is there a way to make it so that the unit immediately streams the welcome message. The problem is that I also have a 800 number which forwards to the local number. This 800 adds 1 ring or 2 rings to the call and my telecom is telling me they cannot avoid this (bell canada). This brings the total to 3 or 4 rings a before the unit picks up the call when someone dials the 800 number. Or 2 rings when they call the local number. Many people hang up before the call gets trough thinking no one is there.
I would like to bring the number of rings down to zero when someone dials the local number and down to 2 when they dial the 800 number. How? (Ideally I would like to bring the number of rings down to zero for both numbers, but the 800 is the telecom's problem which they are investigating).

Why can't Verizon change the # of rings through its system? I have a $600+ iPhone that I can't seem to get to in 30 seconds! Ridiculous. "We want to make sure you have time to answer your calls!" from Customer Support? So do it already. I taught Olympian Lauryn Williams, I didn't train with her, she can probably get to her phone in 30 sec....

If the codes Tanzim mentioned don't work, just call your carrier and ask them to extend your time until voicemail picks up, to 30 seconds. They do this routinely.

  • Please allow us to set # of rings before VM answer...

I use Skype in conjunction with Google Voice but Skype's Voicemail keeps picking-up the call before Google Voice's VM can kick-in.
I know people have asked for this before and I've sent emails in but can't Skype allow us to choose how many rings before the VM system will pick-up? Or put a checkbox so I can disable Skype-In VM altogether?
p.s. You folks might want to add the word 'Skype' to your built-in spell-checker, pretty sad to see that even Skype's own website doesn't recognize the word.

  • How to increase # of rings before voicemail answers?

My phone rings 2 times before voicemail answers, need to increase to at least 5 rings. Tried everything, user guide etc. Any ideas?

Here is the code that I used from my Treo days. Tried it on my iPhone and it worked.
    1. To get the current call forwarding status, enter *#61#[SEND] into your phone.
    2. Write down the 10-digit number(ignore the +1), this is the phone number that your calls are currently being diverted to.
    3. Enter *61*[number]*11[delay]#[SEND] into your phone using the phone number (numbers only) as reported by the status & the delay can be set to (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30) seconds.
    4. To verify that the settings are correct, enter *#61#[SEND] into your phone.

  • Limited number of rings before BT Answer works

I am trying to increase my set number of rings from seven, which is too few to get to the phone sometimes! BT haven't been helpful on their live chat and told me this is impossible without incurring extra costs and upgrading to Call Minder. I don't see why I should incur extra costs. Does anyone have any ideas please?

as far as i am aware there is no way to change the number of rings on BT answer call minder or your own answer phone

  • Increase number of rings before answer phone

    Hi
    Nokia 6500
How do you increase the number of rings before the call automatically goes to answerphone? I keep missing my calls.
It's a REALLY simple question I know, but I have searched the net and read the manual and can't find an answer.
Does anyone know if it can be done and how?
    Many thanks in advance.

i had a real problem and found this answer on av forum which worked.i thought of sharing with you all as i too was being driven crazy by the number of missed calls as it would go on divert after only 5 seconds
    for o2 it is  **61*901*11*20#
where 901 is the voice mail no  and 20 is the seconds delay you wish before divert kicks in.
it can be set as 5,10,15,20 or 30 .
    hope this helps.

How to set the number of rings before voice mail answers?

    For me its:
    1. Open the phone app and dial *#61# on the Keypad. Press the Call button.
    2. Locate this text on the screen: "Setting Interrogation Succeeded, Voice Call Forwarding, When Unanswered, Forwards to +" and record the 11-digit number after the + symbol.
    3. Touch the Dismiss button. Now enter this code on the Keypad: *61*+ followed by the 11-digit Forwards to number recorded in step 2, followed by *11 and *ringtime#. Ringtime is the number of seconds you want your iPhone to ring before voicemail picks up. Your finished code should look something like this:
    *61*+18555513466*11*30#
In the example above the ring time is set to 30 seconds. Press the Call button.
    4. You should receive the message: Setting Activation Succeeded. Press Dismiss and next time you receive a call it will ring for the new amount of time before going to voicemail.

  • Is there a setting in UCCX for long an agent phone rings before it sets him to NOT READY?

    Greetings,
This is a new install, version 8.5.1.11..2-22, and we're in the testing phase. So, when calls are presented to an agent the phone rings for about 3 seconds (maybe 5) and then the agent is placed in the NOT READY state on the CAD and the call is presented to the next available agent. And the same thing happens, his phone rings for about 3 seconds (maybe 5) and then he's placed on NOT READY and if there is another agent the pattern repeats.
IF you have the phone set to auto-answer with speakerphone - the call connects
IF the agent is fast enough to answer via the CAD gui - the call connects
So, I'm thinking there must be a setting buried somewhere we've missed on how long the agent phone will ring before the system puts him on NOT READY. Or could it be something else?
Thanks for your time and attention!
    Keith

How can I extend the number of times my Iphone 4s rings before it goes to answerphone

Call you carrier and ask them how you can change this.  The number of rings before voicemail kicks in is set by your carrier.  Some have the option to do it from your phone if you know the sequence of codes to send, but you need to ask your own carrier how to do it for their system.

8330 Call Forwarding...How do I set the number of rings before calls are forwarded? Right now it instantly forwards my calls but I don't want that. I want to change it so that let's say that if after 5 rings I don't answer the call is forwarded. I've looked everywhere for an answer but have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated. I am with Virgin Mobile if this makes a difference.

Well, call forwarding is a feature provided by your carrier -- it is not a function of the device. However it works for your carrier is how it works. Actually, from what I understand about call forwarding, it normally is an all-or-nothing circumstance...calls forward to the number you've asked them to be forwarded to, keeping you in a DND status. Regardless, though, if your carrier tells you how it works on their system, there's nothing that the device can do to override that. Unless there is some kind of 3rd party app that would do it, bypassing (somehow) the carrier network CF feature...but I've never heard of such a thing.

It's preset by some phone software but you still may have some sound settings for the answer time. Go to settings and check under call answer settings.
