2 sec pause where music and photo pause in slideshow everytime!!!

Why is it doing this? This happens only on burned dvd not before. I have reloaded it. Started over everything I can think of. The show contains 175
photos and 5 songs, 25 min long
HELP

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It's occurring at the 100th slide, isn't it? There's a 99 slide limit in the DVD international standard but iDVD has gotten around that by starting the numbering over at 1 with the 100th slide. At that point most DVD players will pause for a short period of time. A lot will depend on the quality of the media use and the speed of the burn as to the duration of the pause.
The very knowledgeable iDVD users in this forum strongly recommend Verbatim DVD-R disks. They have a greater concentration of dyes in the layer giving a more reliable burn. Also burning at the slowest speed possible will also help create a more reliable burn disk.

  • Can I transfer music and photos from my 17" PowerBook G4 to a new MacBook Pro?

I am planning to buy a new MacBook Pro in the next couple of weeks. Can I have the "Genius" at the Apple Store transfer my music and pictures from my current PowerBook to the new computer? My current computer is a 17" PowerBook G4, running OS X 10.5.8. Because of the age of my computer and software limitations I have been unable to use iCloud for anything besides my calendar and contacts.

Yes, flash drive would work fine.
If all you care about is music and photos, as you indicated earlier, then you simply need to copy the entire contents of your Music and Pictures folders from the old computer into the Music and Pictures folders on the new computer. A flash drive will work fine as long as it is big enough. If you want to also move over personal files, typically those are in your Documents folder and possibly your Desktop, so don't forgot about those.
If you want to migrate over all your emails, applications, internet and router settings, web browser favorites, bookmarks, preferences, user names and accounts, etc., then you might consider doing the full migration using Setup Assistant upon the very first boot up. Apple will do this for you, for a fee, as will almost any Apple-authorized computer store (also for a fee, but probably for a bit less than Apple would charge). You can actually do this manually, using the external drive or flash drive, and I have done that myself. But you need to know where the files are to do that properly. The Setup Assistant (which is run upon the very first boot up of the new computer) or Migration Assistant (which is run after you have booted into your new computer at least once) make it pretty easy -- the main thing you need to do is hook the computers up with a firewire cable and follow Apple's instructions; or if that is not possible, the next best thing is to make a complete backup of your old computer onto an external drive using Time Machine (or a cloning program like SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner) and migrate from the backup.

  • My pc crashed and I lost all my pictures and music that was stored on the pc.  Now i have a new pc and when i connect to itunes using my password all my music and photos are not available.  they appear to be lost.

my pc crashed and i lost all my pictures and music that was stored on the pc. now i have a new pc and when i log into itunes all my music and photos are not available.  I guess i dont understand the pupose of itunes and its worth.  I thought it backed up all my photos and music, but apparently not.  So what do I use so that when i lose data on  my pc i can retrieve it again at a later date or after a crash?/

Your content will only be where you put it.  It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer.  You should get the option to merge the data when you sync.

  • Music and photos transferred into itunes and iphoto from external hard drive on to my new hard drive installed in my 2007 macbook

I just installed a new 250 GB SATA hard drive on to my 2007 macbook computer as the old one failed.  I had backed up my old hard drive on to a 250 GB external hard drive using time machine via a USB cord.  I am having trouble locating my music and photo files to transfer them into itunes and iphoto on my new hard drive.  I have signed in to my itunes account, where it shows my app and book purchases, but not my music purchases.  I have over 1,000 songs purchased.  Any help would be appreciated- Thanks!

    Hi aourada,
Since you have a current Time Machine backup of your computer you should be able to use the Migration Assistant to recover your music and photos.

  • Backup Music and Photos

I want to backup my MacBook (which is almost at critical mass) before I migrate my files to my new MacBookPro.
I really just want to backup my photos and itunes library. How do I do this? Time Machine wants you to select what to exclude. It would take days if not a week or longer to backup my entire hard drive. It would be a lot easier for me to select what to include in the backup.

You can always manually copy the files you want over to the Time Capsule disk - using drag and drop or copy and paste in the Finder windows. Basically, you would be using the Time Capsule as an external disk. I would just copy your 'username' home folder or the individual folders (documents, music, pictures, etc.), assuming this is where your music and photos are stored.

  • Imovie won't load my itunes music and photos from iphoto.

Imovie won't load my itunes music and photos from iphoto. This also does not work on my garageband for itunes music. I have tried backing my itunes media and rebuilding but it has not helped. Anyone with a solution?

Note that you have to actually run the update - where you get the window where you have the choices to "Update" or "Restore" your iPod (you'll of course want to "Update"). It sounds to me like you downloaded the updater but did not actually run it to update your iPod.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPad setup - music and photos

I have recently purchased an iPad 3 and would now like to sort access to my iTunes music content (30gb) and photos (200gb) both of which are stored on an external hard drive which I have connected to a pc. I will shortly be giving my pc to family family as we no longer have room for it as our spare bedroom is now the nursery!! So, what is the best way to continue to access my music and photos without my pc as it will be too much content for my iPad? Perhaps iTunes match for music and if possible (?) accessing my photos via an external hard drive connected to my router?? Or If I kept my pc tower (almost acting as server) can I hook it up to an apple tv (do not currently own one) and access content on pc via network sharing?? I am aware of iCloud but only have the basic 5gb limit.
Really new to this and would welcome any solutions!
    Thanks,
    Edster81

You can sync music and photos to your iPhone by connecting the phone to your computer's iTunes - if you don't have your music in your computer's iTunes library, and if it's in a compatible format, then you can add it via File > Add To Library.
Syncing with iTunes : Sync your iPhone, iPad, and iPod with iTunes using USB - Apple Support
Photos aren't added to your iTunes library, iTunes is only used as a tool for syncing them to a device.
Syncing photos : Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support
You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the phone together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the phone - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the phone, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.

  • Transfering music and photos

hi, iam trying to transfer music, photos, and doc from imac to powerbook,
i have done the firewire connection but can not find the relevant files to drag over, ihave already moved some applications, but need help to find file. also where do i move music and pics to.??

Assuming you're talking about your iTunes and iPhoto music and photos, they're in your user folder. Open your user folder and you'll see a 'Music' folder, inside which you'll find a folder named iTunes. Just copy that to the 'Music' folder in your new user folder on your new computer. In your user folder you'll also find a 'Pictures' folder, inside which is a file called iPhoto Library. Again, just copy that to the 'Pictures' folder in your new user folder on your new computer.
Now all this assumes you've used the default settings which consolidates all your music and pictures into these two locations.

  • Set time capsule as my music and photo library?

    Hi there,
I have a new Time Capsule, i have made the first back up copy, and i think it goes ok.
    My question now is:
i would like to delete all my music and photos from my laptop, and set my library in the Time capsule, so i can have more room in my laptop which is a real problem right now.
Is it possible? I guess from now on, all the copies it makes will NOT have the music and photos, but in the one i alredy did they will appear, wont they? so i can set this one as my library....
    Thanks,
    Crespo

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

    Hi Louis
It is possible, you just need one of those programs - search google, names like irip etc.
Once you have the program it will bring everything up again in your itunes program, I found even deleted songs that were brought back. Fantastic feature...
Don't let anyone say you can't! it is possible, just something your not suppose to do with apple.

  • I found an old iPod classic of mine.  It's not synced to my new MacBook Pro.  How can I get the music and photos off of it and on to my new computer?  When I plug it in to my new computer it wants to erase what is on it and transfer from my new computer.

I found an old iPod classic of mine that is synced to a computer that is long gone.  I want to get the music and photos from this old iPod onto my new computer.  Every time I hook the iPod up to my new computer it wants to delete what is on the iPod and replace with the contents of the iTunes that is currently on the new computer.  I don't want to do that.  I want to keep what is on the old iPod and transfer it to iTunes.  Any help?  Thanks!

See this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

  • Can i share music and photos between two users on the same machine?

How can I share my music and photos between two users on the same machine?

Thank you Joe - I tried this but it's only showing a teensy amount of music - the stuff on the second users account as opposed to the giagntic library on the 'main' account. I actually went to a Genius Bar and they said that apple doesn't really want you to share music between accounts - parents don't want to hear their kids music etc. Which seemed strange, but it might be the case sadly   Thanks anyway!

  • How do I delete music and photos from my iCloud account? I've read below that you can't. Really? Is that correct?

How do I delete music and photos from my iCloud account? I've read that you can't. Really? Is that true?

You can delete photo stream photos from iCloud by just deleting them on your iPod.  My photo stream photos are automatically deleted from iCloud after 30 days anyway.  Just so you are aware, deleting photo stream photos doesn't free up any space in your account as they don't use your personal iCloud account storage.
You can't delete music from iCloud because the music isn't stored in your account; it's stored in the iTunes store.  What you are seeing are links to your previously purchased music in the iTuens store, allowing you to redownload them if you want to.  You can't remove anything from your list of previous purchases.  If you don't want to see these "iTunes in the Cloud" purchases in your song list, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turn off Music under Show All.  LIke photo stream photos, this music doesn't use any of your personal iCloud account storage.

  • I used the migrator utility to transfer music and picture from my old PC and now I have 2 accounts on my new Mac, how can I get back to one account and still have the music and photos transfered ?

I used the migrator utility to transfer itunes and photos from my old PC to my new Mac and ended up with 2 accounts on my new computer. How do I transfer the music and photos and only have the 1 account on the new Mac ?

That's not easy.  The Windows migration tool makes a new user account, and you can't prevent it.
You may be able to transfer what you want manually, but it's not quick or easy.  See Transferring files from one User Account to another.
