2 Seperate iTunes accounts on 2 seperate computers?

I hope someone is able to help.
I have 2 computers (1 Mac, 1 Windows Laptop)
Both computers have an individual iTunes Account (1 mine, 1 my girlfriends)
Can we share our libaries with each other via Home Sharing?
If so please provide directions.
Thanks

After retrying the home share with the SAME ITUNES ACCOUNT ON HOME SHARING I finally got it to work.

  • Same iTunes Account on Two Different Computers

Is there any way for someone to create an iTunes that allows a person to access the same iTunes account on two different computers? Like if my mom wanted the same songs on her computer as the ones on my dad's computer, but she doesn't want to go through the trouble of using a flash drive. They both want to have access to the same account on two different computers.

if the computer cannot be turned on, one option would be to remove the hard drive and put it in an external enclosure that can be connected to the working computer.

  • I have my itunes account on two different computers pc and mac.  My pc has the majority of the media the mac is new and has very little.  I just purchased the app numbers for my ipad on my mac and when i go to sync my ipad it wants to erase all my other.

I have my itunes account on 2 different computers can I merge them?

Copy everything from the old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
Type "move itunes library from pc to mac" or similar into the google search bar.

  • Same iTunes account but on different computers?

My husband and I have both got iphone 4s that are on seperate computers but the same itunes account. We have enabled the cloud so obviously have merged contacts and calendars which is what we want but his calendar is from his PC and we want it from my mac only (thats the first question - can we do this?) Does he have to back up via icloud and not computer.I would like to keep mine to the computer if possible.
I also don't want all of his apps?
I am also haing trouble getting anything on to my phone! It only has my purchased off itunes on there - am i not allowed to put on the legally bought CDS on there without match?
We want the photos that we both take to just go to my computer only. He uses his for work everyday so charges his phone through this. Is the only way if he outs it onto my computer?
Any help appreciated as i seem to understand the concept but can' put it into practice?!
Is it worth taking them all into an apple store and getting set up help?
    Thanks

make sure you have the new itunes go to the store then it will say purchesd and there after you click it, it will show everything you have ever bought on itunes and you can redownload all your music and anything you bought from there hope this helps

  • One iTunes account used across multiple computers

I have a few related questions:
    1) I'm having trouble logging into my own iTunes account on my newest laptop. It says that too many devices are using the same account. Is there a limit on how many computers / devices can use an iTunes account?  If so, how can I resolve this as many of the past computers I used iTunes on, have since crashed/ been discarded, but I didn't unload iTunes from it.
    2) The main problem I am having is in backing up the books I have bought on my iPad on to my newest laptop. It is not letting my purchases sync with iTunes as it does not accept my accont credentials. So I am stuck with a bunch of books on my iPad that I am unable to share or backup.
    3) Once the backup and sign in to iTunes is resolved, how do I share my iBooks with others? Is it possible to save them on a hard-drive as well in case my computer crashes?
Would appreciate your help on this!

Authorization only applies to computers. When you update a device any protected content on the device for which the library is not authorised will be removed. Otherwise no attempt is made to remove content that was added by a now deauthorised library.
There is a separate scheme permitting up to 10 devices (computers, iPhones, iPad or iPod touches) to be registered for automatic downloads of your purchases with a different mechanism for deregistering devices.
Once you have a file on your computer you can physically copy it to any other computer in the same way that you would copy any other file like a Word document, put it on a disk, email it if not too large, burn it to DVD, stick it on an external hard drive or move it over a network. You can use Get Info. To tell you where it is now and you can drop it into the library at the other end.
The user tip shows how to backup the whole library and then update that backup efficiently. Such a backup to a portable drive also provides a possible tool for transporting any content to another computer.

  • I have two itunes accounts on two different computers, can i merge the accounts so i can then have the same music on both ipod and iphone?

i have two itunes accounts one for each of my two computers, can i merge them so that i can have the same music on my ipod and iphone,
it is all so confusing i need help!!!

You can't currently merge accounts and the content will remain tied to the account that originally bought/downloaded it, though you can have more than one account authorised on the same computer's iTunes via Store > Authorise This Computer. As only one account can be actually logged in at a time (Store > Sign In / Sign Out) for purchasing or re-downloading/viewing past purchases, you may want to use just the one account for future purchases.

  • Have gone through my quota of computers with my itunes account.  All previous computers have been scrapped.  Don't know how to deauthorize previous computers so I can use the latest with itunes.

Tried to install itunes and my latest ipod nano on my latest computer.  First  itunes wants me to delete everything on this ipod to sync with itunes.  Then I attempted to get into my itunes account and am told that I have my maximum number of computers connected to my account and would have to deauthorize one to authorize my current computer.  I don't have any of the previous five computers to be able to deauthorize one... they have all been scrapped.   What do I do now?

Deauthorize all, then authorize the active computers.

  • Itunes account on various personal computers

can i have the same itunes account on my laptop and desktop? wanting to download music onto my ipod from both computers

You can use the same Apple ID on up to five computers, but you can automatically sync an iPod with only one computer. You can, apparently, manage music manually with multiple computers if you want, but be careful to make sure you keep copies of your purchases on the various computers because you can't re-download (though you might be able to "file" > "transfer purchases"). • How to merge two itunes accounts on two different computers?

When I originally set up my iTunes account I did not have my own laptop. I used my sisters laptop for this which now has her own iTunes account stored on it.
However, my tunes which I have purchased are also part of this account.
Obviously my sister is fine with me having access to these tunes, however I would like to have them stored in the account I have set up on my own laptop now that I have my own device.
Is there any way I can merge both accounts or the content of the accounts without losing anything we have purchased or uploaded?
Is this 'merging the libraries?', I didn't think it would be as they are on different computers?
Any help here would be great as I am driving my husband mad with this!
    Thank you!

    Hi Carolyn,
    Thanks for this.
Do you think there is any way to get the content of the libraries onto one account?
Would home sharing work just to facilitate the movement of the tracks?
    Thanks again!

I have 2 different itunes accounts.  I have songs on the 2nd account that I want on the first but I don't want to have to buy them again.  Can I merge the accounts into one or is there a way to transfer the songs to the 2nd account?

authorize iTunes on both machines for both iTunes accounts. exchange songs using e.g. home sharing.

I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to consolidate them into a single Apple ID?
At this time, Apple IDs cannot be consolidated.

  • How to sync songs from 1 Itunes account to 2 separate computers

    Hi,
I have an Imac with about 4000 songs on it and these have been synced previously to my IPOD classic 160GB. I went away for a year and got a Macbook to use. I have purchased about 200 songs and uploaded several albums to this macbook. How can i sync them to my ipod without all the other songs being removed?

Each iTunes library has an internal id. If you connect your device to a new library with a different id then iTunes will want to erase and reload. You could connect the device to the original library, switch into manually managed mode, and then add content from any library. Otherwise you need to gather all of your content into one library, and if needed, clone that to the other machine. You cannot add content that is only located in the cloud to your device.

  • How would I sync up my iTunes account across all my computers?

As you can see from my spec list I have an iMac and an iBook, I want to sync up all my iMac's iTunes tracks onto the iBook, which has a fraction of the tracks the iMac has which I transferred over via USB drive. iTunes lets us keep our tracks across 5 machines, so how can I just make all my tracks available in my iBook's playlist? I don't think it would be a problem, just the USB method was tedious which is why I'm looking for a more comprehensive way.

Never mind, I looked through the help menu in Finder and it just said to hook them up with an Ethernet cable, I did that and they went over to the other computer no problem.

  • Can my wife and I share iTunes accounts on different computers?

My wife uses an Apple Airbook, I work on a desktop PC. I've had an iTunes account for a long time and we share music, etc. So can we share the same iTunes account from our different computers?

No. iOS is not designed at this time for multiple account logins. You would be synching over the top of each other.

  • I would like to deauthorize old computers from my iTunes account, but not my current Mac -

I noticed in my iTunes account I have 4 computers authorized.   This list must include old computers which I no longer use (we currently only have one computer using my iTunes account).  The only option is to "deauthorize all", which makes me nervous as it implies it will also deauthorize my current computer, which I obviously don't want to do.  I would like to "clean it up", and remove old computers no longer assoicated with my iTunes, but am a little paranoid about doing it.
Just looking for some advice, before I start clicking buttons I don't know much about, lol!

You need to use the Deauthorize All function; if this deauthorizes your current computer, you can authorize it immediately afterwards.

  • Syncing multiple iPhones to one iTunes account on my iMac?

When we bought our four iPhones last November using the Family Plan with AT&T, we all had our own computers, two Macs and two PC's, and our own iTunes accts. So of course we all synced our phones to our own accounts on our own computers. Now I'm wondering if that was wise? I have bought several applications since 2.0 and the App Store opened, and I'd like my husband and two teenage sons to be able to sync to my computer and download the apps I've bought so we don't have to pay a fortune to get them on each phone. Is it possible to do this? I know iTunes allows syncing of up to five devices on one computer. So does this apply to the iPhone and the App Store too? If so, how do we go about doing this? I do know my teens won't want to lose their own iTunes accounts on their own computers. My husband won't care. He will want to go the route that saves him money.
    Thanks in advance, Debbie

My wife and I share almost everything...so when we purchase apps, we use the same Apple account. We have one account with AT&T with two phones. We also have one account at the apple store and charge everything to a specific credit card that has a very low monthly ceiling. This allows us to download the apps to our iphones from different computers. When I buy an app or download a free one, she logs in with our account and is eligible to download the app too. I think it is OK with Apple but have not read the fine print of the agreement.
