    In providing availability using Sharepoint 2010 Server using "Mirroring"
you need a "Principal, Mirror and a Witness".
    Logically speaking the principal and mirror I would say are the two servers
that are involved in Sharepoint 2010 Server availability.
    The question is in a 2 server farm what is the "Witness" in availability,is it a Sharepoint
2010 Server, is it the Domain Controller or is it a separate server and do you have
to purchase a copy of Sharepoint 2010 Server to run it on?

For SharePoint web front end servers you use multiple web servers and a load balancing service or device. SharePoint application server will auto load balance. For database servers you can use database mirroring. The running SQL server is the Primary,
the backup SQL server is the Mirror and the Witness is any other SQL server.

I have used this command but it does not work

I think this command line is incorrect because the port is repeated
-loggingPath /swbobj/bobje/logging/ -defaultlocale en -port 6400
I changed the command line to
u2013loggingPath /swobj/bobje/logging/ -defaultlocale en
but I donu2019t know why after I safe it, it is the same with u2013port 6400, I think this is the issue. Do you know where also I must to change in order to fix the CMS to port 6400.

Take a look at Metalogix ControlPoint, which will compare user accounts on SharePoint to Active Directory and remove accounts that no longer exist in AD (or are disabled).

I have a lab env that include: 2 server 2012 with AD DS, 1 server 2012 with Exchange 2010, 1 server 2012 that I will install later Edge server.
I have a script that can build all my AD and Exchange infrastructure . This script was tested on single server that hosted both AD DS and Exchange.
My question is how to run the script let say from one of the AD DS servers and do his magic also on the Exchange server?

Unable to View .mod files in Photoshop Elements 11, can see they are there but no picture, I import them into Premiere and all OK ?

I have hundreds of .mod files which are supported but I am unable to view them on my Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. I cant see the picture icons as pictures or see the vision when i select them? I am running the latest Windows 8.1 PC with heaps of Ram and memory. If I import the files into Premiere they play fine?

I did re-set the prefs - but to no avail
I checked and my graphics driver and audio is all up to date.
No sure how to verify Windows Media Player's hardware acceleration options. I opened WMP Options /Perfformance tab and under Cd the DirX tab is checked.
Running Windows Vista - so does the same caution apply regarding a re-install of Windows Media Components and DirectX ?
Appreciate your help with this somewhat frustrating issue. I am converting some old 8mm film to avi with the hope of doing some edits then burning to DVD.

SharePoint 2010 Server roles with 10 servers

Hi,
Need some <g class="gr_ gr_24 gr-alert gr_gramm Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="24" id="24">opinions</g> please.
I am configuring a script for a farm and are in 2 minds.
4 of the 10 servers are going to be WFE Servers.
So how do <g class="gr_ gr_26 gr-alert gr_tiny gr_spell ContextualSpelling multiReplace" data-gr-id="26" id="26">i</g> split the additional 6 <g class="gr_ gr_27 gr-alert gr_gramm Punctuation multiReplace"
data-gr-id="27" id="27">Servers.</g>
This is my thinking:
2 x App Servers (MMS, UPS, State, Web Analytics, Usage and Health, Secure Store, BDC, Access Services, Visio, )
1 x Search Servers (All Search Functions)
2 x BI Servers (Excel Services, PowerPivot, Performance Point, SSRS(There is dedicated SSRS Servers but this for config parts)
Then still have a Spare Server. Not interested in Web Apps. Thought of Second search server but search not huge priority.
Lots of BI happening so maybe even splitting that to 3rd server?

With that many servers, you may want to look into the streamlined topology model. Ignore the stuff about Distributed Cache, but the other guidance should apply.

Hi everyone i recently got my first iPhone and stepped into the tech

I have been receiving this error message at least twice a week upon my login to the Central Management Console:
"The system [servername] can be contacted, but there is no Central Management Server running at port 6400."
Each time I received this message, I will go to the server and the services (tomcat) is still running. What I will have to do is to restart it manually. I too have configure so that the services can restart if it fails, but it does not restart automatically. I have to restart it manually again.
I have searched in google and this forum for help, I am still a little lost.
Please advice.

Hi there,
To answer your question, the server has 4GB memory with Xeon Processor 3GHz. The server has tomcat installed - that is all. There are no other applications/databases running in that server.
What should I do now?

Can Double Byte Codes be used in SharePoint 2013?

Hello,
I am looking to create a SharePoint but for Japanese users. I understand that Double Byte Codes will need to be used when entering information due to the Japanese language. I have been informed that this can sometimes cause an issue with SharePoint.
I am looking to test this however I wanted to understand if this can be done / are there any considerations when using DBC's on SharePoint etc and any limitations.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, SharePoint 2013 supports Double Byte Unicode characters:
If you have non-standard ASCII characters, such as high-ASCII or double-byte Unicode characters, in the SharePoint URL, each of those characters is URL-encoded into two or more ASCII characters when they are passed to the Web browser. Thus, a URL with many
high-ASCII characters or double-byte Unicode characters can become longer than the original un-encoded URL. The list below gives examples of the multiplication factors:
High-ASCII characters — for example, (!, ", #, $, %, &, [Space]): multiplication factor = 3
Double byte Unicode characters — for example, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Hindi: multiplication factor = 9
For example, when you translate the names of sites, library, folder, and file in the URL path http://www.contoso.com/sites/marketing/documents/Shared%20Documents/Promotion/Some%20File.xlsx into Japanese, the resulted encoded URL path will become something
like the following:

Hi,
I have been using Windows server 2012 at my company and generally take a remote access to this server. However, since last few days, I have been receiving the Error "The remote connection was disconnected because there are no Remote Desktop License
Servers available to provide a license. Please contact the server administrator".
My entire work has come to a halt because of this error as all my applications are running this server and their remote access is needed for my regular requirements.
I had tried one of the solutions proposed at one of these forums especially using gpedit.msc but to no avail.

Agree with the words of armin, please verify that you have properly installed correctly. Verify RDS Licensing service running on License Server. Verify that the client, the RDS server, and the license server can communicate by ensuring that Domain Name System
(DNS) is configured correctly on each computer. You can run the ping command from each computer to each computer using the IP address, FQDN, and the NetBIOS name. If any of the ping commands fail, verify the DNS configuration on the network.
In addition, you can also try “GracePeriod” registry setting on this path (HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\RCM) from
this article.

Windows Server 2012 Used: Error Message from Windows 7 PC: Remote session was disconnected because there are no remote desktop license servers available to provide a license. Please contact the server administrator.

We are using Windows Server 2012 Standard installed in VMWare / Virtual machine and to access this we use vSphere client and Remote Desktop Connection / service was already enabled and was working fine with User PCs / laptops remote desktop into the server
2012, until it gave an error message of: Remote session was disconnected because there are no remote desktop license servers available to provide a license. Please contact the server administrator. whilst logging into the server.
We DON'T use Active Directory nor and we don't use domain and not looking to use it any-time soon.
I checked the RD Licensing Diagnoser and it says the grace period has expired and the licensing mode for the remote desktop session host server is not configured. I have checked the Remote Desktop Gateway has been stopped and I tried to start it and it
resumed to stop, here I assume its where the licensing part comes in to re-enabled this.

because I think we have to be is AD DS for this which we don't. Is there a way around this for non domain / just standalone set-up? Is it a must / requirement we need to be in a domain in order for Remote Desktop Connection to work?
Also, we have a Windows Server 2012 RDS CALs - 10 (software and licence key), will the licence key work for the Windows 2012 Server Standard? We do not want to install the other Server mentioned which comes with CAL / licence key as its time consuming
to reinstall other programs. I have installed Server role service of Remote Desktop Licencing and automatically installed other associated services needed. in the RD Licencing Manager, the Server had a red cross and I "Activate Server"
