2 significant problems, blaming on constant updates..

Hi, I would LOVE some good help with the issues I'm having at moment..
first up: I use a site, decks.de for buying records..
listen to new stuff every night,
with this site, once something has been listened to once, this is saved/remebered(logged in or not
..so you know what you have and have not listened to..
My Dad, decided to update, once more,
and since, nothing is remembered on quiting Safari(thats Safari Version 5.1.1 now)
I have warned people in the past not to delete history, because that would effect what I have described above.
HIstory is in tack but thats not the problem anyay..
I believe the site does all this through: cookies?
Looked at every possible pref. now. Even set cookies to "always except"
Nothing works, to make this "info"=of whats listened to or not, save
second, which ties in..
Listening to aduio samples on record sites, I always look for the full thing through google, for accessment purposes.
Wheter through blogs or just file hosting sites..
the music tends to come in .rar files.
I have rar "expander" which has always worked fine..
Something happened two weeks ago(prob another update) and these .rar files are not downloading properly.(everything else grand)
Its definitely the way they download, going on deduction.
.. a 25mb .rar file will take less than a split second to dl, and then shoiw as 5kb or something.. using "rar expander" or "stuffit"

It's taking away an enjoyment I get, most from the net.

And finally - if you truly are "Very disappointed with constant updates", perhaps you should consider using a distro with a regular release schedule. Arch is a rolling release distro, therefore there are constant updates.

Downgrading isn't supported.
You can poke around in the settings. There's a lot of stuff defaulted to on that you may not need, such as notifications.
You can also look into background app refresh and background app updates. They can be running in the background and drain your battery.

It sounds like your 5800 has the earpiece fault that was common with 5800's made before February.
You need to take it to a nokia care point for repair under warranty.

Wifi problem after.4.3 update on xperia z

Hi all,
After updating my Xperia Z (C6603) to build number 10.4.1.B.0.101 I've been having connection issues with every Wi-Fi network.
I've checked the forum but I only found problems about people having Wi-Fi issues with their smartwatch, I do not own a smart watch this is just a general networking issues.
Here's the problem in detail:
When having no Wi-Fi switched on while booting the phone the phone will start without any issues, I will receive my 3G/4G signal and I can browse, e-mail, everything.
Once I switch on Wi-Fi it will start connecting to previously stored Wi-Fi access points but will not connect. Eventually it says that there was a problem with connecting, even though this will take several minutes.
I can go into the Wi-Fi settings, select a different Wi-Fi network (if it is in range) and press connect, however the settings app will freeze at that point and eventually I'll get a notification that the settings app has stopped working.
I have found a "work-around": I switch the Wi-Fi to on, power off the phone and power on again. Now the Wi-Fi connection immediately powers on without an issue once the phone has completely booted, it also will connect to the default Wi-Fi connection that is in range. A different issue appears however once I move out of Wi-Fi range, it will no longer pick up my 3G/4G signal. It is also impossible to switch off Wi-Fi or switch Wi-Fi network connections without rebooting the phone.
As I said before this happened to me after updating to version 10.4.1.B.0.101 after having it received through OTA update. I do not have root access on my phone either so this can't be it.
Is there anyone experiencing the same issues? Is this somehow related to the issues people are experiencing with their smart watch connections (as seen in this topic: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Software-Updates/wifi-problem-after-4-3-update-on-xperia-z/td-p/490591...
If there's anyone who is experiencing the same issues, or has found a fix for this I'd gladly hear from you.

How do I let Apple know there is a print problem since the latest update?

I am unable to print since I installed the latest version of Mac OS X 10.5.7 over the weekend. I use a Lexmark X5470 all-in-one printer. I had the same problem when I switched from Tiger to Leopard until Apple produced a patch. I tried it on both of my computers and I have the same problem on both.
How can I let Apple know that the same problem has occurred with the latest Mac OS X 10.5.7 update?
In the printing window I get two messages. The first says the there is a color missing , to delete and re-install the driver. The second, There is a problem communicating with the printer. Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the computer. Delete or stop the job and try again.

That probably explains it. Sometimes a minor bug in 3rd party software becomes a problem after a system update catches it.
From all that I know (which is not much) it is not a problem that is specific to my macbook or g5. I will try to post the issue in bugreport.
They usually let you know if it has been previously reported and eventually, the disposition of the request.
You might try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer.
Did you use the full combo manual download? That would be another thing to do - you can reapply it over the one you have.
Also run DU and repair permissions before and after any update.

Yes. Delete the Apps that were not Purchased using Your Apple ID.
But a Restore as New is the way to go.

Problems with Gband after updating to iTUnes 7 and Quicktime

Garageband has bee acting strange ever since the update and sometimes tracks freeze and it goes into a repeat which won't stop until I use the power button to shut down the computer. I am having multiple application problems since the forced update to iTunes 7. Anyone else having issues?

many times in the past, a quicktime and/or iTunes update has caused some weird stuff. Did you repair permissions after the update? Sometimes that will clear it up. Other times, many folks have gone back to the previous versions until a fix was found.

Well, I created new extract, starting 2012-06-01 15:30 to check if there was something with extract at the time, but got the same error.
If I run extract beging at 15:52 it starts and works.
But well, I got another one today. Data didn't look that bad, but yet one column came with null value:( And I'm using it as a key column, so I got Mapping problem with compressed key update record again:(

The SCRP_CODE column has a NOT NULL constraint. The ORA-01407 error is telling you that you cannot update or set a value for this column to null because of the constraint. This has absolutely nothing to do with an index. You can use a marker/sentinel value in lieu of using NULL. For a numeric field, where everything is positive, a negative value (-1) can be decoded as meaning null. For a character field, a code such as NA can represent NULL.
This also has nothing to do (directly) with GoldenGate failing because of this error. The underlying SQL statement will fail everywhere, regardless of the tool or application. It is not a case of failing only in GoldenGate.

Sync problem - earlier today I updated both iTunes and my iPod Touch. Since then, I have tried syncing the two. The iPod Touch claims that there is no music on the iPod, however, when I connect it to my computer it says my full library is on there.

The iPod Touch claims that there is no music on the iPod, however, when I connect it to my computer it says my full library is on there. At present, I am unable to listen to songs on the iPod when not connected to the computer. What can I do to fix this?

- Have you reset your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next would be to backup your iPod and then restore you iPod from backup via iTunes.

As you can see, battery issues have been common since the first iphone, frequently reported after an upgrade, but not always. So to blame a specific version doesn't describe the problem sufficiently to find a resolution.

Hard drive is USB connected to Extreme.

Reboot the USB drive.. assuming it is powered.. or unplug and replug a self-powered drive.. (you should not use self-powered drives on AE before the latest model.. always use a powered hub).
Does the drive now appear in finder..
If not reboot both drive and the AE.. it should now appear.
If it doesn't work with direct connection try a powered hub.. that can help.
