2 Speakers of Inspire T7700 7.1 stopped working

Hello there!
I have a problem with my Creative Inspire T7700 7.1 soundsystem.
Two speakers, side and rear left have stopped working. Well, the speakers are okay but there is no output at those 2 female connectors in the woofer. There is just a silent noise all the time. The speakers are fine (I plugged them in an other output and they work) so the problem is that there is no signal at those two outputs.
Some days ago it worked fine. I don't know why those are broken - what are my options?

  • SB Audigy 2 (not ZS) + Inspire T7700 (1 Speaker not working)

I have just bought a the Inspire T7700 for my my normal SB Audigy 2.
I know that the normal SB Audigy 2 just supports 6.1, right?I have plugged in the subwoofer and the speakers as shown in the quick manual. Then i have connected the 3 cables in the first three holes of my SB Audigy 2. The jumper on the subwoofer is set to 6.1->7.1 I'm using Win XP Home (SP2) and already have installed the newest Audigy 2 Driver. In the the Creative Driver i have chosen 6.1 Profile and Windows has automatically choosen a 7.1 Profile in it'ss own "Sound Settings".(I have already checked, but WIndows has no own 6.1 Profile, only 7.1!)If i now start playing sound the rear left + rear right + side right speaker doesn?t work!If i change change the jumper on the subwoofer (uppest position, think that was 5.1-7.1) and now all speakers work, except one, the front right one!But if i make a "channel test" with the Creative Driver software the channels are completely mixed up.All speakers seems to be positioned wrong! So what did i do wrong? Can't i use all speakers with my normal SB Audigy 2?Is 6.1->7.1 the wrong jumper setting on the subwoofer although it should be the right one (-> manual) for my soundcard? But why do 3 speakers not work then?Hope somebody can help me.

    I have done the following:
Since all speakers seem to work, except one if i choose the uppest switch on the subwoofer (think that is "direct", right?)i decided to change the position of the three cables that connect to my SB Audigy 2, because another problem of this situation is, (as i already mentioned above) that all speakers seem to be placed wrong when doing the "Channel test"!After changing the cable?s position in the Audigy 2 quite often i suddenly found a position, where all speakers work (CMSS "on") AND at least the speakers (front right, center, front left, side left, side right)are placed correctly when doing the "Channel-test". I don't know why but if i try to calibrate the speakers in the Creative-Software and click on the speaker that i hear the sound coming from there are some speakers, that always make a noise together with another speaker. In summary, i can't calibrate all the boxes, because some always ound together with another one and some other speakers didn't even makes any noise!Doesn anyone know this problem?

  • My speakers were sounding fine, but suddenly stopped working. But earpiece works.

My speakers were sounding out loud but suddenly the two sides went dead. however, anytime I plug in my nokia earpiece, it works well. i tried another hard drive, no sound. are my speakers dead? -i have presario c501nr

Hi!! To add more to the issue, the other day, my airport card is nowhere to be found. It now says no airport card installed which is really crazy. I also noticed that my MBP freezes during start up and I had to zap the PRAM so it would open up. Anyone there who experienced the same thing? I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

  • Creative Inspire 5.1 5300 stopped working due to blown H945 transistor on circuit board.

One night I was woken by a large humming noise coming from the bass box of my Inspire 5300. I killed the power and the noise went off. In the morning I inspected the circiut board contained in the bass unit and found two scorch marks under two transistors markes "H945". I downloaded the datasheet for them(http://www.datasheet4u.com/html/H/9/...vices.pdf.html) and found an equivalent nearest match in the BC82L, general purpose NPN transistor. These are available in the UK from both Maplins and RS Components for a few pence. After removing the transistors it turns out only one of them had burn marks under it, but I changed them both anyway. HEY PRESTO everything came back to normal.
Thank you to the other forum guys that put me in the right direction and?I can confirm BC82L is the right transistor.

I used the C945 and it worked perfectly....
It seems that many people have problems with the H945 transistor....

  • Pavillion Laptop with Windows 7 - Speakers have stopped working but headphones do!

    Hello
I have a Pavilion dv6 Notebook, with an AMD A8-3500M APU and Radeon HD Graphics card.  It is a Windows 7 64 bit system and was purchased in october of 2011
The speakers on my laptop have suddenly stopped working, but external speakers continue to function.  I have tried the windows troubleshooter, resetting defaults on playback devices, and updating drivers both through the device manager and through HP Recovery manager.  I have tried uninstalling and re-installing drivers, and a hard reset ofthe computer (unplugging all devices and power sources, waiting and restarting).  I have tried System Restore to restore the system to a date before the problem.  None of these have helped.  Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi there @Rob5
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that you are having problems with the notebook speakers., and I am happy to help with this. From all the trouble shooting you have described it sounds like it may be that the speakers themselves may have gone bad, or the connection is loose.
Before we look at the possible physical problem, take a look through this page first, just in case there is something you have not yet tried.
No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 7)
If you are still getting now sound, then take a look through page 62 of 137 in this guide:
HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service Guide
That page shows how to replace the speaker assembly and the relevant part number, but before going that route, I would suggest just disconnecting and reconnecting the speakers, in case it is just a bad connection. Over time a connector can work itself loose. Just doing that may fix the problem. If not then you can call our technical support at 800-474-6836. • Creative Inspire T7700 - Only frotn speakers and sub work?

I recently bought a new Dell Vostro 400 PC with a 7.1 surround sound soundcard. I decided to also buy the Creative Inspire T7700 surround sound system.
I have got it all set up, and when I run the sound demo on every individual speaker, they each sound on their own, however when playing games, listening to songs or watching movies, only the subwoofer and two front speakers make a sound.
Please can someone advise? Should I buy a creative sound card too?

    Fri3ndly,
Most sounds that you will play within windows are stereo. This means that they are encoded with left and right signals only. Typically only DVD's and some games support 5.1 output. If you are getting a Creative sound card, you might want to consider the CMSS feature that will allow you to upmix stereo channels to virtual surround.

  • Inspire T7700 Speakers

I purchased these speakers almost a year ago, but I wake up this morning to find that they aren't working correctly. Lots of sounds don't play, the start plays then it just stops working altogehter. Sometimes the speakers crackel so I have to turn them off, other times the sounds are just blurred. A long standing problem with these speakers has been that the transformer makes a terrible humming noise, but that's not my main concern.
The speakers are still in warrenty, so what should I do? Can I have them replaced with a similar pair (as the T7700's are not available in the UK anymore.) Would it be possible to recieve the T7900's or a similar priced pair of 5.1 speakers?
    -Regards Nighthawk-F7

    Nighthawk-F7,
If the speaker is faulty, then your best option is to contact Customer Support. They will be able to advise you the option that's available.

  • Inspire t7700: Music only from 2 speakers..HELP!

I just bought a new computer and Inspire t7700 with it. (7.1 speakers)
But now when im trying to listen to music, only two speakers works. Why?
Theres nothing wrong with them because when I do the speakersystem "test" all speakers works.
But when Im trying to listen to music only two speakers works.
    Could anyone help me?
    /Robert

    Robert,
The sticky nvidiot is referring to is here. That's only applicable to Creative soundcard and if you have other type/brand of soundcard, you will need to check with them if the soundcard have any form of upmixing feature for stereo to multi-surround.

  • Connecting Inspire T7700 to Audigy 2 NX + Louder bass at a certain frequency

    Hello,
I wasn't sure if this should go to the soundcard forums instead.
In the Inspire T7700's box there was a cable that had 4 stereo connections on each side, and I used that to connect the card to the speakers. I have the upmix on the speakers set to none (7.1). Everything works fine except for one detail: I have no control over the subwoofer when playing stereo sources via CMSS. For instance, "subwoofer volume" in the advanced volume mixer has no effect, as well as Bass Redirection (although I admit I don't know what that is). The subwoofer simply seems to somehow combine whatever goes to other 7 speakers. Is this normal? Despite the upmixing, I can control every single sattelite independently, but not the sub?! In addition, turning off CMSS should normally cause only the front speakers to work (without the center); instead, I get the two front speakers AND the subwoofer. When using a true surround source however (e.g. the sample AudioDVD, which by the way has no side channels) the subwoofer volume setting has an effect (although very limited). Also, when trying the Channel and Noise buttons to test speaker settings, they all behave as expected; the sub is independent. So is the T7700's sub really getting an independent channel, and if yes, why is CMSS not taking advantage of it's
Also, is it normal for the subwoofer to sound much louder at a certain frequency? It really is annoying because it is painful to my years, and to avoid it I need to turn bass down by a lot, losing the nice bass on other frequencies...
Other than those two problems, I love both the card and the speakers! Now if only the former had Linux support too...
    Thanks!

I worked around these problems by getting a PCI Audigy 2 and using the kX drivers (http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/). If going to PCI is an option for you, it's worth it. (The drivers do not support USB devices.) I'll never use creative software again. And if these kX drivers didn't exist, I would have no use for their hardware either.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and Inspire T7700 does not recognize Mic on Audio Control

    Hi folks,
I decided to hook up my headphone and mic sets to the Audio Control Pod for the first time recently to chat online. I'm not sure if I ever tried this when I bought the Inspire T7700 speaker system, but I cannot seem to get any voice to come through in Windows' Sound Recorder (the headphones work fine). I'm hoping that someone here can help...otherwise, I suppose I'll have to find an alternate solution than using my soundcard system.
    Here are some specs:
OS: Windows XP SP2 and all current updates
Soundcard: Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Speakers: Inspire T7700 with Audio Control Pod (contains the headphone and mic jack)
    Here's what I have tried:
    . Updated drivers to: SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe
    2. Tested headsets and mics out on another one of my computers with a SoundBlaster Li've. They work fine.
    3. Set each audio source with full volume in the Recording Control window as the source while recording in Windows' Sound Recorder (I know some of these aren't right, but I tried them all nonetheless):
    - MIDI Synth
    - Line-In 3
    - Line-In /Mic (this should be the one, I think)
    - S/PDIF-In
    - Auxiliary (this might be the one for the Audio Control Pod)
    - "What U Hear"
    - Line-In 2
    - CD Digital
    - Wave
    4. Installed the Creative software from the official CD to manage the audio and speaker settings. Retested the same as item 3 above within this software. Same results.
    5. Disconnected the external I/O hub (since I am connecting to the Audio Control Pod, which connects to the speaker system and then my sound card). Interestingly, the Line-In /Mic input disappeared. All that I saw for an input (I believe) was Auxiliary. I tried even that as noted in item 3, but nothing.
Has anyone had any luck in getting a mic from a headphone set to work with the Audio Control Pod for the Inspire T7700 speaker system along with the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Read the FAQ on top of the soundcard forum concerning SPDIF and digital out. The reason is very easy to find out if you read that. In short: the digital out can only send out a PCM stereo signal (which is why you only get FL/FR sound) and an encoded AC-3 signal.

  • Inspire 5700 - Digital stopped working

I have the Inspire Digital 5700 speakers and a while ago the digital Din stopped working. I then used the analogue.
Ive just upgraded my soundcard to the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum that requires 3 analogue outputs. Unfortunately the decoder wants 2. The Digital Din still doesnt work.
To test the system, I tried inputting optical from the front box to the rear of the decoder and still no sound.
    1. Do all of the digital inputs run from the same internal electronics ?
    2. Can I replace my decoder with the DDTS-100 ?
    3. Ive ordered the mini-jack to digital DIN cable from creative, but where can I get the mini Din to mini Din ? Creative doesnt sell this. Im in the UK
    Thanks

You could contact Customer Support directly to see if they can supply you with the DIN cable.
If you're connecting from the optical output on the drivebay to the optical input on the decoder, you'll need to change settings. This knowledgebase case covers a lot of detail:

Select your card in the list, and then "Speakers with digital inputs"

  • IPod Touch 3G w/ stopped working with car stereo/docking speakers

After I upgraded to OS 4, my iPod Touch 3g stopped working through the USB port of my car stereo (just says "reading" and never progresses from there). It also stopped working through the docking station (basically a large clock radio) that I bought for my living room -- it will recharge and play music through the speakers but the docking station and its remote can no longer control the music (can't advance to the next song or anything else), so I have to physically change things on the ipod itself.
I was told by Crutchfield (where I'd purchased the car stereo) that this was a known problem with Apple -- that with OS4, many of the devices that previous worked with iPods no longer worked, and that this would be resolved in a later version of the OS that would provide some backward compatibility. However, I can't find anything at all about this.
If anyone knows more information about this, or has a link to where I might be able to read more, I'd appreciate the info. I selected and installed both the (almost new!!) car stereo and docking station specifically because they allowed me to connect and control my iPod, and now I've lost that functionality and the $$ I put into those devices (over $300 total)!

I apologize for posting a bit early.  Found an Alpine manual online and i needed to set the AUX port to off.  They also recommended a reset of the Touch.  After doing these two things it is now working.  Maybe this will help someone else.

  • The speakers on my iPod Touch 2nd generation stopped working.

The speakers on my iPod Touch 2nd generation stopped working.  The volume doesn't even register - can't turn it up or down.  On occasion the headphones will work when plugged in.  Turned it off and on, tried reset, nothing works.  I bought it second hand so no AppleCare. What can I do?

Try restoring the iPod via iTunes on your computer.  First from backup and if problem persists restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
