2 step authentication not an option in my list
I'm looking at setting up 2 step authentication, but it's not an option on the icloud website under the password/security section, and I'm wondering why not?

I'm afraid I know nothing about using this. I just passed along the FAQ I found. If you signed into your Apple ID account and something isn't working, then I'd recommend calling Apple about it.
Select a number for your country from this list: Contacting Apple for support and service and ask for Account Security.
You may need to consider if this is desirous. Once you implement it if you ever forget the login to your account Apple will be unable to restore access for you. This is an extreme security measure. Be sure you understand the ramifications of using it.

core01(config)#Are the tacacs+ servers reachable using the source vlan 200. Also in the tacacs+ server can you check if the IP address for this device is correctly configured and also please check the pwd on both the server and this device match.
As rick suggested sh tacacs would be good as well. That would show failures and successes

Apple ID two step authentication - SMS option not available to receive verification code
Hi apple community,
First time poster, so be nice and let me know if this is the wrong forum
When signing on to my apple ID account, with two step authentication enabled, I am prompted to send a verification code to my device.
Now, my device was actually replaced under warranty so when attempting to send the verification code, I do not receive anything.
I have checked Find My Phone is enabled and working.
As I understand it now, the verification code is sent as a device message so if you replace your device, you have to re-register your new trusted device for apple ID two step authentication.
When signing in, I do not have the option to send a text message (i.e. an SMS) to my mobile number.
Has anyone experience this and resolved it? (and yes, Apple Support have tried to help me with no success)
FBDitto. For whatever reason, my cell cannot receive the SMS code from Apple. I'm located in Mexico - but I've done 2-step authentication in the past without problem. Phone number triple-checked and accurate.
And of course, y iPad won't connect to our office WiFi for some reason (stupid D-link routers, apparently)....
A real pain when I can't log-in to my office iMac to access iCloud mail.... -
2 step authentication option missing

Have 2 step authentication setup on main account without issue but on another account (iCloud domain) do not see any option to turn on 2 step authentication. The iPhone I use with that account is an older unit that has a sim but no cell service (disconnected line) however I have the phone numbers on the account pointing to my active iPhone yet still no option to even Turn On 2 step authentication. Anything I could be missing here ?
Again this is not even showing as an option in the account settings under AppleID.

The three Rs to IOS, try them in order until the issue is resolved;
Restart - Press and hold the Power button until the red Power Off stripe appears. Swipe to power off. Press and hold the Power button to turn the device back on.
Reset - Press & hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the red power off slider, until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons.
Restore - Connect the device to the Mac or PC with which it is usualy synced and use the iTunes app to restore the device to the factory settings. You can then restore the device with a previously made backup or set it up as new. -

My question or remark is that where I wanted to pay in Canadian dollars (not US) otherwise I will not subscribe to monthly/annual fees that may vary due to currency variation form US to Canadian dollars.

I turned my macbook on and all the emails of inbox were gone. In time machine, only the inbox option does not shows option to get back old back ups... how I can get my inbox emails?
I figured it out. I couldn't see the old backups because the sparsebundle had not been properly unmounted in a previous session, so it kept giving an "already in use" error. The problem was solved by restarting the Time Capsule through the Airport Utility, mounting the sparsebundle by double-clicking it, and then going through the "Browse other backup disks" option in the Time Machine menu bar icon.

Please take these steps to restore administrator privileges to your account. This somewhat tedious procedure is only necessary if you've confirmed that no adminstrator account exists on the system.
If you don't already have a current backup of all your data, you must back up before taking any of the steps below. Ask if you need guidance. You won't need the backup unless something goes wrong—which is always a possibility.
Step 1
Start up in Recovery mode. The OS X Utilities screen will appear.
Step 2
Take this step only if you use FileVault 2. Launch Disk Utility, then select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main screen.
Step 3
Select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. In the window that opens, type this:

Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:

Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Select your startup volume if not already selected. Pull down the menu labeled
Select the user account
and select
System Administrator (root)
Follow the prompts to set a password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9. I suggest you write down the password. If you don't write it down and forget it, you'll have to start over from Step 1.

from the menu bar.
Step 4
This step, like Step 2, applies only if you use FileVault. Log in as usual, then select
▹ Log Out...
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-Q. Don't restart. You'll be returned to the login screen.
Step 5
At the login screen, click Other... Enter "root" (without the quotes) in the Name field, and enter the password you set in Step 3 in the Password field. You should now be logged in as root. This is a potentially dangerous condition. Do nothing while logged in as root except as indicated below. You'll be fine as long as you don't deviate from the plan.
Open the Users & Groups preference pane. Select your usual administrator account in the list of users and check the box marked
Allow user to administer this computer
You'll be prompted to restart. Do that and log in as yourself—not as root. Your administrator status should now be restored.
Step 6 (optional, but recommended)
Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading "Disable the root user." You must authenticate in Directory Utility as "root" with the password you set in Step 3. Authenticating as another administrator won't work.

I would suggest restarting the iPad and see if the download resumes.

Not getting option to Backup Using Child Partition Snapshot DPM 2012 R2
I am running DPM 2012 R2 fully patched.
I am trying to use Backup Using Child Partition Snapshot of a Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 Datacenter Cluster using CSV.
I get no option to use Backup Using Child Partition Snapshot, just online backup.
I have gone through the steps in the Microsoft document "Configure CSV Backups"

Has "Backup Using Child Partiton Snapshot" been replaced by "\Online\VMName" ?

Yes, Windows server 2012 R2 has changed the caption from "Backup Using Child Partiton Snapshot" to "\Online\VMName" - DPM is displaying the new caption when protecting Windows Server 2012 R2 guests.

From an administrative command prompt on the Hyper-V server:
a. Type: copy con script.txt and press enter

Output will be displayed for each guest as follows.

Restore from time machine does not list all my backups. I know they exist but their dates are not present on the restore list. Any help appreciated. If I must use one of these older dates to restore, how do I then get the more current data off time machine?
Ok, so am i correct in saying that the steps to fix are as follows.
That's one option, but not what I meant by restoring in the time-travel view. The latter is what you get when you enter Time Machine.
is the fresh install not going to be able to "see" the time machine backups that I have at the moment.
It should, but sometimes people report that it fails. I'm not sure why that happens. -
