2 Steps Authentication in France

Hi,
I would like to turn on 2 steps authentication on my Apple Id but the option is not visible in https://appleid.apple.com although it seem to be active in France. Is it possible to use 2 steps authentication in France ?
Best regards

Two-step verification is not available in France yet. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570
When two-step verification is available in your country, you will see it in "Password and Security" in http://appleid.apple.com. It's only available in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand now

  • Apple Mail won't Authenticate Google Login with 2 Step Authentication Enabled

Is there a way to authenticate a Google Account added to Apple Mail using 2 Step authentication?
I am using the 10.10.3 and trying to link my google email account to Apple Mail. I use 2 step authentication for Gmail, but when trying to add this account to Apple Mail, I type my username and password and the next window asks for the code generated by my device. This code is not recognized when logging in. Further, I have tried logging in with an Application Specific Password generated by google, but this fails to work as well. Any help is greatly appreciated. This issue has been plaguing me since 10.10.1 and Apple says its Google's issue. Any workarounds would be helpful.

  • GMAIL - Z10 forgetting passord (2-step authentication turned on)

Gmail (with 2-step authentication) erratically asks for password. I can go days without any problems then have a day when it will say the GMail account is invalid and I have to put in the device specific password two or three times that day. I have turned off 2-step authentication for now to see if that helps but would like it fixed. Vodafone say it is a google / gmail issue but not sure I believe that, given the issues I have had with the Z10 OS and the fact that the issue seems to appear alot on the web related to the BB platform. Not seen any solution yet though.
On the Z10 I am running OS 10.1.0.2312. on Vodafone.

    Hi Holden,
You may have to unlock your Gmail Captcha, which is a security feature set in place by them to prevent unauthrorized "bot" logins.  You can unlock your Gmail Captcha at https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha then test your Gmail account again.
    Thanks.

  • Two-step authentication too small

Apple, would you please make two-step authentication larger on the iPhone screen?

You'd need to address this with Apple as these forums are user to user only; you could call or send them feedback:

  • I have Google 2-Step Authentication, which is causing problems in Apple's Mail program, any advice?

I have Google 2-step authentication on my Gmail accounts, and until recently have used it with no problems whatsoever.  What you have to do is generate an "application specific password" for apps where you cannot enter you "google authentication code".  I generated the password to use with my Apple Mail program that comes as the default on Mac OS, however every time I get on my computer it asks for the password again.  This must be a problem with the software, because I use it with no problems on my Iphone.  Any ideas or solutions?
    Thanks!!!

  • Apple ID two step authentication - SMS option not available to receive verification code

    Hi apple community,
First time poster, so be nice and let me know if this is the wrong forum
When signing on to my apple ID account, with two step authentication enabled, I am prompted to send a verification code to my device.
Now, my device was actually replaced under warranty so when attempting to send the verification code, I do not receive anything.
I have checked Find My Phone is enabled and working.
As I understand it now, the verification code is sent as a device message so if you replace your device, you have to re-register your new trusted device for apple ID two step authentication.
When signing in, I do not have the option to send a text message (i.e. an SMS) to my mobile number.
Has anyone experience this and resolved it? (and yes, Apple Support have tried to help me with no success)
    FB

Ditto.  For whatever reason, my cell cannot receive the SMS code from Apple. I'm located in Mexico - but I've done 2-step authentication in the past without problem.  Phone number triple-checked and accurate.
And of course, y iPad won't connect to our office WiFi for some reason (stupid D-link routers, apparently)....
A real pain when I can't log-in to my office iMac to access iCloud mail....

  • Does iMessage imperil two-step authentication?

It seems that the new iMessage service is a complete lack of security for anyone relying on their iPhone as part of a two-step authentication process.
I was just re-logging into some secure sites, such as Google, that require two-step authentication, and the authentication number pops up on the screen of the iMac or iPad I'm using, apparently destroying any value in having the information supplied separately to my iPhone.
I have had to turn off the whole iMessage service now so that my access to secure sites is not so easily breached. Apparently anyone with access to my computer or iPad easily bypasses the security process.
I don't understand how this update doesn't leave everyone who relies on two-step authentication with an iPhone using SMS messages with validation codes from being completely compromised.

You'd need to address this with Apple as these forums are user to user only; you could call or send them feedback:

  • 2 step authentication not an option in my list

I'm looking at setting up 2 step authentication, but it's not an option on the icloud website under the password/security section, and I'm wondering why not?
    Thanks

I'm afraid I know nothing about using this. I just passed along the FAQ I found. If you signed into your Apple ID account and something isn't working, then I'd recommend calling Apple about it.
Select a number for your country from this list: Contacting Apple for support and service and ask for Account Security.
You may need to consider if this is desirous. Once you implement it if you ever forget the login to your account Apple will be unable to restore access for you. This is an extreme security measure. Be sure you understand the ramifications of using it.

  • Implementing 2-step authentication in WCC

    Hi,
Has anyone tried implementing 2-step/ multi-factor authentication for WebCenter?
I'm looking for steps to be followed to implement the same.

Authentication for WCC 11g is handled by Oracle Platform Security Services which defaults to the Oracle WebLogic default authenticator which authenticates against the embedded LDAP.
At WLS level you can configure multiple authN providers and kind of chain them through the JAAS Control Flag. More on the WLS authentication providers - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e13707/atn.htm#SECMG169
You might want to examine the list of pre-built AuthN providers and see if they meet your requirements for 2-step authentication.
If you don't find proper providers, you should look in the Oracle IdM portfolio as Jiri suggested.

  • Do any of the location and two-step authentication services work without IPOD WiFi?

    IPOD Touch 4g, IOS 6.01
I signed up for two-step authentication but I now realize that all the necessary location services only work through WiFi.
I don't use WiFi at home and only connect my IPOD directly to the PC whenever I want to use Itunes or manage it.
Is there any process to setup location services and two-step authenticate through a PC internet connection?
    Thanks

I think you are going to find the WiFi saps that good life right out of it -- it will also run hotter with WiFi on.
I did some informal testing on this myself... the best battery life I get is with WiFi turned off and only turned back on when needed to surf the net. I use EDGE for e-mail.
Today was my first "real use" day... It charged last night and was fully charged this morning. I texted quite a bit. I sent a bunch of e-mails. I called my husband via bluetooth. My daughter called several times to check in. I called a few work contacts for brief convos. I browsed the internet for about 15 minutes. Made an appointment in the calendar. Showed google maps, weather, stocks, and safari to a friend (using EDGE). Now tonight, safely back at home, I still have about 70% battery remaining.
Any day I had WiFi on all day I barely got through 12 hours before it needed to be charged. Last night when I was intentionally running my battery down I turned on WiFi. Starting with a battery charged about 50% I browsed with WiFi for 3-4 hours and the phone died.
I do keep bluetooth off too unless I'm in the car, but honestly, I think it's really the WiFi that is the biggest battery draw.

  • AppleID 2-step authentication setup - an unknown error has occurred

as the title says, I've tried twice to setup 2-step authentication and always end up with a "an unknown error has occurred" once I confirm (click the checkbox) to enable the security option.
I was able to setup my SMS number, verify 2 devices and re-entered my recovery code when I was prompted.
All I get at the end is: "an unknown error has occurred"
I have to restart the entire verification process after this happens.

well.. I just tried it again today and it appears to be working now.. I guess there was just a "glitch" with their systems yesterday.
All is good in the universe once again!

  • Why is Apple using short code SMS for 2 step authentication?

I have been trying for months to get 2 step authentication to work on my AppleID but I never got the SMS code from Apple. In the past I have had no problems with receiving 2 step authentication codes from Google, MS or Yahoo so I knew that worked. I knew that my MVNO blocks short code SMS because they have been used to scam/charge people for services. That got me to thinking would Apple be using short code SMS to send key information for 2 step authentication? I spent hours looking through posts here and on Google and discovered a post by "yohdaddy" in this thread
Anyone having problems with 2-step verification & T-Mobile (USA)?
that indeed is what Apple is doing! Why Apple use short code SMS which providers sometimes block and will not always unblock? Use a normal 10 digit phone number like Google, MS and Yahoo does. That way critical information like 2 step authentication verification codes will not be blocked. Surely your company can afford it!

Good catch, frozen. Apple should note this in their kb document on 2-step verification

  • 2 step authentication option missing

    All
Have 2 step authentication setup on main account without issue but on another account (iCloud domain) do not see any option to turn on 2 step authentication. The iPhone I use with that account is an older unit that has a sim but no cell service (disconnected line) however I have the phone numbers on the account pointing to my active iPhone yet still no option to even Turn On 2 step authentication. Anything I could be missing here ?
Again this is not even showing as an option in the account settings under AppleID.
    Thanks

Contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>The topic is not listed.  The call should be free, but you'll need your serial number to set it up (which you can find on your phone in Settings>General>About).
