2 System Landscape to 3 System Landscape

Hi Gurus,
We have 2 systems (DEV and PRD) now we want to introduce a QAS system and make our landscape to a 3 system landscape.
can guys please give us the step by step procedure for this? and how many hours this process will take?
Thanks
Vignesh P

Hi,
For the implementing the landscapes, ypu have to install the OS , DATABASE, R3 again. after that you have to do the stms configersation, after installation steps just like se06, applying license, the system copy from production. then you can use the newly installed system as pre-production or qas system.

  • You do not have permission to view the System Landscape Directory.

    Hello there,
When I accessed my SLD from portal, it took me to the page but kept saying:
    - You do not have permission to view the System Landscape Directory. Minimum required: UME role with permission com.sap.lcr.LcrUser and J2EE role LcrUser. See the SLD Post-Installation Guide for details
    - SLD not configured; configure the SLD in Administration first.
I searched on these forums for the above error. Got some results, but nothing really substantial that has helped/fixed my problem.
I also read a bit on SLD from the pdf file named: System Landscape
    Directory of SAP NetWeaver 2004s
I also worked on the security roles and actions to individual
users or user groups like for ex: the above pdf file advised I map the security roles from Visual Administrator, to the created roles in the portal. I've done that too. Like create a user group: 'SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR'  and create a user role corresponding to it, which would be: 'LcrAdministrator'
Then, I went to visual administrator, and clicked on 'Assign User Groups to Roles'
Even after this, I tried to access the SLD from portal: It is still giving me the same error I mentioned above in bold italics.
Can somebody please help me how to fix this issue?
    Thanks
    Dino.

    Graham:
Thank you very much for making the effort to reply to my query.
But, it still hasnt solved my problem yet.. for some reason even though I followed your instructions and did what you advised.
I have attached a screenshot of my Visual Administrator screen that you advised me to modify/change.
    Here it is: http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/2259/screenshot002co1.jpg
After I made the changes, I restarted the J2EE server and went to my portal SLD page: [http://org-x:50000/sld]
Tried authenticating usernames: LcrAdministrator and Administrator.
Both attempts resulted in the same error show below:
    - You do not have permission to view the System Landscape Directory. Minimum required: UME role with permission com.sap.lcr.LcrUser and J2EE role LcrUser. See the SLD Post-Installation Guide for details
    - SLD not configured; configure the SLD in Administration first.
I am wondering, if you would have another workaround regarding this issue, can you please let me know?
    Thanks
    Dino.

  • System and landscape estiamte for SCM on Hana for Practice use

    Hi All ,
We want to know the System and landscape estiamte for SCM on Hana for Practice use.
    Regards,
    Abhishek

    Hi,
    Perhaps this link could help
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SMSETUP/MaintenanceofProductintheSystemLandscape
Also check out the note :
For SCM Add-On Products like SAP SNC, SAP EM, SAP F&R the basis component (SAP Netweaver Release) has to be also assigned as relevant Product Instance
Might be helpful, if you check the product versions being reported for the system in the SLD.

  • Error while configuring TMS in SAP (3 system Landscape)

    Hi,
We need to replace our quality server with a new one. While configuring TMS,with the new replacement of our quality server,we are facing an error.
Our development server is the domain controller and we have added our new QA and then deleted the old system and previous TMS configuration. But after deleting the configuration in our Production also,we get an error while adding it in the landscape.
Password should contain atleast 2 numericals(0-9) for TMSADM.We changed and tried but of no use.
Our password is welcome@01 which goes as per the password exception table.
Can anyone help us in resolving this issue.Do we need to change the parameters and restart the system?Or is there any resolution like unlocking any table etc.
Please help.Early response would be of great help as our landscape is affected.
    Regards,
    Sudheer.

    Hi Sudheer,
Make sure the client id open
in client other than 000 open table TMSCROUTE using SE11 and create following entry.
    sysname = ,ADMPWD
    Routestring=USER
save the entry then try to configure STMS in 000.
Try to add the Entry in All 3 Systems.

    Hello,
Please create a communication user in both Solman system as well as satellite system with trusted autorizatrion.
For trusted autorization create a role with object S_RFC & S_RFCACL
While generating RFC please select the user which you have created in the above step
Hope this helps you if not let me know the exact error

  • Creation of System Landscape though SMSY and RFC connection

    Hi all,
I've finished install the solution manager 4.0 with Oracle 10g running on Windows Server 2003.
i would like to know after i create the RFC connection using SM59 to my TST system which will be the system that i'd plan to monitor. The authorization test seem to be failed but others connection like connection test and remote logon seem to working fine. Please kindly advise which sort of user i need to give. I receive the message "Error Details-You are not authorized to logon to the target system (error code 1)."
And at the SMSY, i cant even see the TST system. And i don know where we should create the TST system. And i wuold like to know where i can make changes to the Technical data tab for my solution manager ipaddress, beacase it has tied up to the Microsoft loopback connection.
    Please kindly assist.Thank you.
    Kah Fei

    Go to transaction SMSY
Here, towards the left hand side you will see menu with tabs of 1. Landscape Components
            2. System and Logical Components
            3. Product Definitions
            4. Overview
    Select the second tab.
It will show list of all SAP Products available, if you are linking an SAP R/3 system to Solution Manager, then select the SAP R/3 from the list. And if you have already created the server and its details, they wil appear in the list here.
    Try this out.

  • SOLMAN 4.0 SR2 connect to SAP R/3 Three System landscape (DEV QA and PRD)

    Hi,
We have successfully installed SOLMAN 4.0 SR2 (ABAP + JAVA) on
    WIN2003 SP2 EE MSSQL 2005 EE SP1.
I just want to activate the service so that SOLMAN could see my existing SAP R/3 4.6 C Three system landscape (DEV QAS PRD).
I heard settings should be done on SPRO IMG configs. Could anyone tell me the exact procedure to navigate on it. I see a lot of buttons to config and execute, Just want to make sure everything will be in order.
My SLD is directly installed locally on my SOLMAN server.
    Thanks,
    Simoun

    Hello Simoun,
Telling from your last sentence I assume that you would like to connect SolMan (transaction SMSY) to your locally installed SLD or in other words: replicate SLD system data into SOLMAN system landscape SMSY.
    Please check this document:
    http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000538663&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700000530282007E
Here you find information covering prerequisites, required SAP Solution Manager IMG configuration to connect SLD and SMSY and frequently ask questions (FAQ-like).
I hope this helps you to get started.

  • Doubts in System Landscape Directory

    Hello All,
I got some basic doubts in SLD.
Why do we need to store the information about the installed products and to be installed products in software catalog?
And, what is this techncal system?
After reading few help sites, what I understand is the following:
For example SAP is a product and  CRM etc are the software components. We create the technical system for this product like for client 100 we create a technical system and for client 200 we create another technical system. And we give some logical names, called business sytems, to these technical systems.
My second question is, why do we need to create all these information(the information in SLD)? Why cant we directly create messages types, message interfaces etc and configure them in Integration directory without using the information in SLD like business system?
In Integration Directory, we say that the sender is one Business System and receiver is another business system. These business system are created based on some technical systems. These technical systems are based on some software components and product. This product and the software component might be a installed or non installed product. Then how do we can get the connection between the sender and the business system? Can you please explain me the idea behind considering the sender and reciever as business systems.
Can anybody please clear the above doubts?
    Priya

    Hi Priya,
    <u><b>SLD:</b></u>
The System Landscape Directory of SAP NetWeaver (SLD) serves as a central information repository for your system landscape. A system landscape consists of a number of hardware and software components that depend on each other with regard to installation, software updates, and demands on interfaces.
    - so talking about the working of an SLD, here if any information is required for the integration server regarding the systems(logical or physical) and the software (installed products) it refers to the SLD.
    - to tell you about the other features it has....it captures the dimensions of the system landscape like solution dimension, transport dimension and technical dimension.
    - putting it in short XI IS A CLIENT OF SLD
Also go thru this link and understand more about SLD <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/31/f0ff69551e4f259fdad799a229363e/frameset.htm">System Landscape Directory</a>
    <u>
    <b>SOFTWARE CATALOG:</b></u>
The SLD contains a Software Catalog of all installable SAP products and software components. The Software Catalog includes information about support packages and dependencies between the products and software components. This information is the basis for the description of the system landscape.
Also go thru this link and understand more about Software Catalog <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/a2/2999ef97ea2b4790165f9ca5c05c41/content.htm">Software Catalog</a>
<u><b>TECHNICAL SYSTEM, BUSINESS SYSTEMS, SOFTWARE PRODUCTS:</b></u>
Technical system correlates the software to the physical host on which it is installed
Or in other words Technical systems are application systems that are installed in your system landscape.
    - they are actually the basis for defining the business systems.
    - we assign a technical system to a business system to help the SLD make the appropriate association.
    - the software products used by the business system are got from the technical system definition.
    - to note 1 technical system can have more than one business system assigned to it....and as told the SLD make the appropriate association between them.
Also go thru this link and understand more about each of it:

  • ChaRM transport route, one development, 2 QA, 2 PRD system landscape

    Hello,
We have a customer who has an ERP system with a transport route which is the following:
One single Development system which feeds, 2 QA systems and then 2 PRD systems.
We are to implement ChaRM and we want to customize the tickets so that every time you execute the import action of a transport request into QA (and later into PRD) both systems QA1 and QA2 are updated and later on with PR1 and PR2.
We would like to know how to support this scenario in Solution Manager using ChaRM.  How do we set up the logical component at SAP, how we define the transport route and layers, and how we define the actions in the SDHF ticket.
    I appreciate your help.
    Regards
    Esteban

    Hello,
We set up a testing environment for change request management. In a solution manager we created five clients.  One single development which feeds two quality systems, and final two production system.  As it was said in the thread we used transport groups in the transport route.  The development system feeds this transport group which feed to import queus in quality systems.  We tested this transport route and transports worked well and arrives into both production 1 and production 2 systems.
Then created a logical component for that landscape, with five sytems.  Then we created a maintenance project using that logical component.  We created a maintenance cycle and then a task list was created which shows two delivery system, and the two productive  systems.  All the groups have the right actions.
However when we created a SDHF correction the system creates the task list only for 3 systems, not for the five of them.
we see that only action groups are created for development, quality 1, and production 1.  No entries for quality 2 and production 2
We try to run the action which is in the general part of the task list to execute the import in multiple systems, it cames out with the correct selection of importing in quality 2 system because it is the transport group.  However an error is raised saying that the actions for  quality 2 are not there in the task list which is true.  Finally, as short term solution, we were able to import into quality 2 and later on pr1 but done manually in the stms transactions which is not what we want to do.

  • Unable to read software component version from System Landscape Directory "

I've worked in past creating/importing SWCV, but this is new system PI7.0 and stuck.
    A) Is my understanding on resolution correct?
Should I go and apply notes 940309 and create client copy of existing client 001
                                        OR
change role of client 001; SXMB_ADMIN -> 'Integration Engine Configuration' to 'Integration Server'
I have no problem in using client 001 as Integration server, all I want is import of SWCV to work. Thanks. Appreciate the help.
    B) Here is what I have done and the error:
    1) Followed weblog below and created product, software component, technical system, business sytem in SLD.

(Unable to read software component version from System Landscape Directory "server:5<system number>00").
    C) Pointers used from the forum to debug the issue, but still no luck
Below are the points checked from the forum and all steps are correct, but still have issues with the import
    1) check the RFCs SAPSLDAPI, LCRSAPRFC, connection test pass as the program ID registered with Jco
    2) T-code SLDCHECK no errors (followed http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/de/78/20244134a56532e10000000a1550b0/content.htm)
    3) T-code SLDAPICUST got user PIAPPLUSER, pwd is correct (reset the pwd)
    4) logged using PIAPPLUSER http://server:port/sld and it works
    5) One of the weblog SLD Check Failed (LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS function doesn't work) referred to apply notes 940309

applied portion (PIPostInstallProcess) of OSS notes 940309 and it resolved.
    Note:
I still retained client 001 and didn't do client copy as mentioned in the notes. The wizard based CTC tool helped. Here are the details if someone has similar issue and want to know further details:
A NetWeaver Process Integration (PI) Installation (ABAP+Java) has two parts: Installation and configuration. The former is done by the Installer, the latter by the 'Central Template Configuration' (CTC) Tool.

  • Issue with same R/3 system ID - Client in XI landscape

    Hi there,
    <b>WHAT:</b>
We are experiencing a serious problem in our XI landscape.
The source of the problem is due to different SAP systems within the same landscape which have the same system ID and client nr. Our customer has divided its business into internal companies which use different SAP boxes/instances but share the same XI environment.
    <b>HOW:</b>
All systems have been defined in SLD as technical and business systems. This is an example how it looks like in SLD:
    DEV on business-system1; client 200
    DEV on business-system2; client 200
    PRD on business-system5; client 400
    PRD on business-system6; client 400
    <b>WHEN:</b>
When we try to add a second business system/service (in the integration-builder directory) with the same combination of System ID (i.e. DEV) and  client nr. (e.g. 200), XI does not allow you to activate this second system.
The error message we get; There's already another system configured in the directory with this same combination of system ID + client.
Is this behavior normal? Why is the integration-builder/directory looking at the technical details of the configured systems in SLD?
Is this a feature or a bug?
Please send me any feedback or some clues how to figure out what's going on here, tnx all.
    Rob.

    Sravya,
Actually that's the situation we have now; we have two different BS (in this case with the same attributes: SYSTEM ID=DEV and CLIENT=200.) installed on top of two different TS's. This configuration is not accepted by the Directory in the configuration builder. As I said before when you try to add the second BS with the same attributes, XI generates an error that does not allow you to activate the change list.
So these two BS's have to be configured in SLD as different BS's, otherwise XI would not be able to correctly do the technical routing.
What I dont understand is why is XI looking at technical data from this systems at configuration time ? As far I know at configuration time XI is only suppose to work with data declared in the business system information and not at technical details like system ID's and client numbers. These kind of information belongs to the SLD layer and not at configuration level.
<i>Please correct me if Im wrong, tnx.</i>

  • No option for system creation in system landscape.

    Hello all,

It is only showing the option to create folders, change ID and Refresh. Earlier I used to get the option and i have created some "Systems" but now niether i can create nor i can open the existing system objects.

    Hi,
Try by assigning administrator role for the user. it will work.
    If not come again.

  • Indirect Role Assignment with HR-ORG in a system landscaper with CUA

    Hi all,
    we have 2 SAP systems:
    1) SAP ECC6 (with composite roles)
    2) SAP HR with PA and OM
We would like to assign SAP ECC6 roles through HR-OM.
Since HR-OM is not on the same ECC6 system, we would like to try the logic: HR-OM -> CUA -> ECC6
There are several documents that describe this situation (ex. SCUR351).
From PFCG point of view, we should create a composite role in CUA system which include simple roles of child system.
If we try to create a composite role in CUA central system, we can insert only simple roles available in central system (and not in child).
Any experience on this scenario ?
    Pros vs cons ?
Are the different possible scenarios ?
    Many thanks...
    Andrea

Whole idea of CUA is to manage your roles and users centrally, on the contrary you can manage the roles/profiles by setting up the attributes for the CUA thorugh Central user Management console - SCUM Transaction.
CUA has its own pros -
Central rep,Users Sync,Role Provisioning statergy - Global composites(consists of individual child roles) Distibuted model -Provisioing at individual child systems for roles, etc.Central user store, easy maintenance.
on the contrary - change documents is always a concern ( because cua uses - interface Ids or the RFC ids to push the idocs from cua to child system), CUA maintenance while system refresh - Copied distribution models have to be deleted and re-created, system backups has to be defined per you distribution model, password maintenance if defined global then Child systems act as inactive nodes, reading the roles into cua which are created in childs so as to establish a pointer to that system.
It also depends on the number of systems you have in your landscape so that you can calculate the overhead and then have a Go -no-Go decison on CUA.
Overall, I consider CUA as a good approach provided we streamline the process of provisioning, de-provisioning per the cua standards.

  • ChaRM: 4-System-Landscape possible?

    Hello,
regarding our system landscape we have no clue how ChaRM will handle following situation
DEV-System: Development-System were the developments should be done.
QAS-System: Test-System were the tests should be done.
FNC-System: nothing to do here, just for functional tests
    PRD-System: Production System
Transport routes are DEV -> transport group which deliveres QAS and FNC, and from QAS -> PRD.
What needs to be done to set this up correctly for ChaRM (e.g.: SMSY-logical components)?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    You have two options:
    1) assign FNC to task list: you can start the import to this system in the task list manually
    2) or task list without FNC: you can schedule a job 'import all' at FNC or import manually via STMS
    Confiiguration:
    1) One log. component with D-Q-FNC-P (Q and FNC are of role target systems)
    2) One log. component with D-Q-P
    regards
