2 things with the Zen Microph

. Will the Zen Wired Remote - http://www.creative.com/products/pro...y=27&product=2 - work with the ZMP? And I'm curious how it works. In the picture it looks like it only connects to the Headphone jack. How can it send play/pause/next etc signals through that.
2. I don't like that songs without album tags don't appear unless you view all songs by the artist. They should show up under an <Unknown> album. Anyway to change this or the possibility of firmware changing it's

The remote does work with the microphoto (I have the white remote and ZMP).
One question why under artist do multiple of the same artist show up? Example would be "2pac" and then under that "2pac" it happens to a few of my artest, not all but some, any advise?

  • Updated to usb 2.0, having issues with the zen microph

basically, put a new usb 2.0 card thing in my computer and when i plug my zen microphoto to it i get a message saying that i need to install the drivers for it, which i can't find online and don't have the cd for anymore.
My Zen Nano Plus works fine on it and i didnt have to do anything, any ideas what i can do?

I had the issue and read almost every blog on the net in order to fix it.
RESTORE the iPhone as a NEW phone, and the issue will be resolved.
I read that pictures on the phone itself can also be a cause of the issue so deleted all of the pictures off of my computers before restoring the phone also. (not much of a pic guy)
My camera is now fine. PLEASE email me if you have issues, i know little tweaks can help/hurt an issue, so feel free to ask me

  • Creative, Is it worth it? (i.e. whats your experience with the Zen 16gb) and Firmware questi

After doing a sizable amount of research on the Creative Zen 6gb MP3 player, I was relati'vely comfortable with the product and decided to purchase it.
However, after browsing this forum for a few hours, I see quite a few things that trouble me about Creative in general:
"Real person" my (CENSORED) -horrible customer support
Creative Expects 3rd Quarter Loss, Sells HQ Building?
Message to Daniel_K -lack of product support/customer relations
and a countless number of other posts about hardware and software issues with the Zen
I really like the features built into the MP3 player (FM transmitter, voice recorder, Equalizer) and do not want to sell my soul to Ipod.
That being said, I wanted to see if there was anyone on this forum that actually liked their Zen and did not have issues with it.
I would greatly appreciate your positi've feedback as I hope that I will not have to spend countless more hours searching for and then researching a different MP3 player that fits my needs.
In addition, I was curious about the user interface on the Zen. I know that it uses ID3 tagging and that a folder directory cannot be used to view mp3s on the player (unless this has been added in a firmware update?, however I checked the site and did not see anything about this addition). How impeding is this ID3 tagging reliance if about 00 to 500 of my mp3s have incorrect tagging? as in, will I go crazy trying to retag everything because all I see if "Unknown" for all the data?
Yeah, that's about it for my long winded post...
    Thanks,
    Joe?

Just return from Mexico and found my Zen 4 GB player missing from a light finger baggage handler. I would not even consider, in a thousand years, of purchasing from the "fruit company" their overprice Ipod without a FM receiver. The Creative Zen rocks. Need I say more.

  • I've decided to go with the Zen Touch. Any advi

hey guys, through all the research, i've decided to go with the zen touch 20gb (unless i find out what price the 40 will be sold at). Anyway, I'm planning on getting one by the end of the week. Anyone have any advice on first things to do? are there any upgrades or downloads i should get right off the bat? by any chance are there any nuances that the player has that it would be important to know? any common problems that there is a way of avoiding? any information would be great. im getting it from amazon.com for 99, well that is unless i can find an actual store that actually carries it, which im sure i wont. im excited...thanks guys.

Since the player is very new, there havn't been any updates for the firmware, if that's what you're wondering. I personally don't own a Touch, rather, I have an Xtra, but basically just follow the instructions on the installation manual (usually tells you to charge the device for x amount of hours, how to connect the device to your computer, install the included software, etc).
The only thing that is notable about the Touch is that when you first get it, the touchpad takes a while to get used to... or so I've heard.
Oh, and someone found the 40GB version at http://www.ecost.com/ecost/ecsplash/...asp?dpno=65048
Dunno if this is for real or not though

  • So the thing with the attachments in Mail for Mac...

    Hey guys,
I've searched and browsed for the last 2 or 3 hours to find a solution to this problem and I've seen that many others are having the same problem and no solution for it.
    What's the problem?
I'm using the standard Mail program on a Macbook Pro under OS X Mavericks and no matter how I attach a file in an eMail it will ALWAYS come as "inline" or "embedded" to the recipient. Now this bothers me **** of a lot, because the mails simply look riddiculous. I would really like to attach my .jpeg and .pdf files as ATTACHMENTS and not as pictures which then by some can't even be saved or downloaded.
    What "solutions" have I tried?
So this problem dates back to 2008 / 2009 and I'm not the only one having this issue. Apparently there are some solutions.
Here are the ones that I tried but didn't work:
setting composed mails to "plain text" rather than "rich text" - failed
clicking the embedded file and activating "view as icon" - failed
the thing with the terminal command - failed
attachments always on end of document - failed
Attachment Tamer seems to work, but causes some crashes and I'm not really happy with a third party program whose development seems to have stopped since a pre-realease build.
Now I would really, really appreciate any more ideas to solve this problem.. it is literally driving me crazy .
    So long,
    Oliver

It seems hard to control how the recipient's email program will process the attachment.  I always put my attachments at the end of the message and they stay there as far as I know, so it is not clear what causes this problem for those that experience it.
One workaround:  zip the attachment(s) and send the zipped file.  You "zip it" by selecting the file(s) control-clicking and selecting "compress".  Of course, now the recipient has to have the "unzipping" ability, which may or may not be a problem.

  • Accessories that come as standard with the Zen Vision: M 30gb.

Hi,?This may be a silly question, but do headphones come as standard with the Zen Vision: M? The only reason I ask is because I know it isn't standard to get?a charger. Also, there is an option to buy an accessories pack which has a charger but also has earphones. It is possible that these earphones are just better than the ones included but I thought it better to ask the silly question before I buy ?Thanks

  • Is there a known bug with the zen vision;m and usb internet adapt

i bought the zen m yesterday. i've down loaded it onto my pc.
audible wont sync to it. the creative firmware updater wont update it keeps saying its not connected.
Windows media player synced to it ( the only thing thats gone right so far lol )
and worst of all every time i plug in the unit via usb. if i unplug the unit my netgear usb WPNT2 stops recieving all 802. signals until the driver explodes taking the system down with it. or i manual reboot.
    whats going on?
i'm thinking i should have gotten a Zune, and if i can't resolve this i'm going to have to take this back.
i put the zen on my laptop and xbox 360 and it works fine. it runs a pcmcia adaptor.
my desktop is a media center rollup 2 everything up todate. my netgear drivers are uptodate. i dont know whats going on here.Message Edited by paladin238 on 2-02-200604:24 PM

it's not connected on a hub.
update audible still can't activate the zen, and it still keeps crashing the wireless adaptor, which inturns causes a stop error and crashes the system. i can't win =/

    An update...
I downloaded Apple's (rather large!) list of software updates today, and I was finally able to recognize my iPod again. I did a restore using the iPod updater from 06-2006, and all seemed to work OK. (I'm afraid to try the new one again!)
Then I tried to re-load my music library from iTunes, and got stuck. It froze up after a while and wouldn't go any further.
When I disconnected my iPod from my computer, I find 2 podcasts and nothing else, though iTunes told me it had transferred 600+ songs. Those 2 podcasts do play fine, and the basic iPod software all seems to be intact.
So -- anyone get through this connection problem and have any ideas to share??

  • What is the deal with the Zen Aurvana headphones?

Can anyone explain this to me? (Please note that I am a review addict, and look at reviews before buying anything so I don't make a regretful choice. One of the things that sealed my decision on the Zen was the 8.3 from CNET.)
I've been deciding to upgrade from the Zen's EP-480 set for a few weeks now, and it's a tossup between the Aurvana and the EP-630.
Problem is, everywhere seems to report that the Aurvana is very average. Looking at customer reviews on retail sites and media critics, they all barely rate the Aurvana above average. Looking in the same sources at the EP-630, it has a close to perfect score from various ones.
Now, here's what blows my mind. I stumble upon Creative's European site, and the reception for the Aurvana is better than the EP-630 set. Other countries seem to love the Aurvana more than the EP-630, while the US does not. See for yourself:

What's the deal here? I need help with my decision from fellow Creative fans. Has anyone owned both?

I use it quite a bit for zooming in and out (by dragging up and down) but you have to be careful you don't move left or right when doing this as it then becomes a bit unpredictable as you say...
If you just want to use the playhead for dragging left and right (and if you can't find a pref to turn it off) you'll just have to be careful to drag only in the horizontal axis and not up or down..

  • What's wrong with the Zen Nano pl

I've been looking around for the MP3 player that will suit my needs.
The key features I need are...
    . Above average sound quality.
    2. Flash based.
    3. Small. Can accompany me anywhere with ease.
    4. User replaceable battery. (after few years, built-in battery will die. sending to service center for replacement is a pain in my country)
    5. The screen that let me navigate through my music files.
I've been deciding between the iPod nano and Mobiblu DAH-500i(Currently I've not enough money for the iPod nano though.). But for some reason I just want to check creative website. My last creative product was back then...... the first generation Creative Nomad Jukebox 6GB.
And I found this one, the Zen nano & Zen nano plus. This player meets all my requirements. I quickly browse CNET and PCMAG.com for the reviews of this product. Yes, they say good things about it. But the rating is somewhat low compared to other models out there. PCmag give it 3.5/5. And Cnet doesn't even have a full review for it.(only 'preview' available.)
I'm not sure if I can think this way but after reading through the 'features' page, I think this product just simply 'SHOULD BE MORE POPULAR'. It's so perfect. It fills all the holes I have in my mind about iPod nano(no drag and drop) and DAH-500i(battery life). I'm not interest in FM radio though.
So I'm starting to wonder if there's some hidden flaws about it's Forexample, is it only compatible with AAA alkaline battery but not the rechargeable AAA Ni-MH or Ni-CD battery? This thing is build of very cheap plastic? etc...
Question # Please let me know what is the 'bad' point of Zen nano/ Zen nano plus. Because I really can't find it.
Question #2 Is there a hole on the device where I can atach a lanyard?
    Thank you.

As said above, the N200 is the exact same (with some software exceptions and maybe the odd change) as the Nano Plus.
The plastic the player is made out of can be quite fragile (I've got a crack in the bottom of my player) - but it's not so fragile as the Ipod Nano seems to be (it's meant to be a magnet to scratches), it's a bit of a cheap plastic, but I'm not sure the extent of how fragile it is, though you can't literally snap it in half.
You will need to reload the firmware every so often, if you're lucky, it might be every few months, some have to do it every few weeks (It could be the luck of the draw, some people might have faulty products, but it is something that needs to be done). This usually is the fix for any random problem with the player (at least it's not always back to Creative for repair)
The Line in is pretty shoddy, don't use that. (They might have fixed it in the later versions of the firmware, not in .2)
The sound quality is well, as good as you can expect I suppose, it's not the worst thing in the world, but testing it against my cousin's Ipod Photo (I know it's not exactly a big comparrison), there's no or very little difference.
The battery is user changable, AAA batteries. There have been some cases with some rechargeables not working - that could just be the luck of the draw, or just a incompatability issue, like anything that uses batteries. However, most rechargeables should work with the player well. (I'm using rechargeables as well)
There is a hole for the laynard around the back of the player - yet I remember the hole on a user's player had broken. In Asia, the player is sold with the laynard, whereas in North America and Europe, it comes with an arm band and a rubber cover with a plastic belt clip.
The backlit buzz as mentioned above is also a problem, though on the Cnet Asia review for the N200, the claimed it wasn't audiable during music playback. Though how much it annoys you can depend on you, it's like some people can sleep with World War 3 outside, some can only sleep in perfect silence.
I'm sure there will be people with horror stories about the player, but there will always be people with horror stories about everything and anything.
Feel free to ask more questions if you want.
Although, saying that, the Samsung players are meant to be pretty good as well if you want to check them out.Message Edited by arcl on 09-26-2005 02:23 AM

  • Problems with the zen x

I recently bought my friends 40gb jukebox zen xtra from him. The first thing I did when he gave it to me was reformat it. Then I synced it with my windows media player library and it connected fine. After I did that, I've experienced the following problems:
-Won't connect to my computer anymore (Windows Media Player nor Zen Xtra Media Explorer, nor Nomad Explorer will detect it)
    - The characters in Track Details show up as boxes
    - No songs are listed in Selected Music, even when all music is selected
    - Won't show what song is playing when i look at the Now Playing screen
-Won't allow me to delete any music at all
Any ideas at all as to why this is happening?
I don't mind having to reformat again if that will help.
There are a lot of songs I'd like to add to it and it none of the programs will detect it when i connect it with the USB, the other problems are just irritating, thats the important one.

Sorry I took long to respond.
I ran through the tutorial you linked me to, I changed the "permissions for usb" as it instructed, and, unless it requires me to restart the computer before the changes take place (I havent restarted it), it didn't solve it because Windows media and zen media explorer still don't detect it.
And yes, a new firmware was loaded, but that was a while ago. The firmware it has now is 2.0.03

  • Arranging tracks with the Zen Stone P

I've recently upgraded from a Zen Nano Plus to a Zen Stone Plus. With the Nano I had?Creative Zen Nano Plus Media Explorer, which allowed me to change the order of tracks?in a folder and number them automatically. Zen Nano Plus Media Explorer?doesn't work with the Stone, so any arranging and numbering of tracks has to be done manually, which is a right pain.
Is there a version of Creative Media Explorer available for the Stone Plus, or perhaps some third-party alternati've that would allow me to do the same thing? Thanks in advance.

I have the Stone (not Stone Plus) ... it doesnt have bookmarking, but it does have the ability to fast forward/rewind by holding down the skip fwd/back keys. Also (and I dont know if this is a function of my audiobook or of the player), it seems to create a .pos file next to my audiobook file, so if i move from an audiobook to my songs and then back, it picks up the audiobook where i left off.

  • Problems with the Zen Vision:M 6

I'm experiencing a lot hangs and lockups with my Zen Vision:M 60GB,
the newest firmware that is viable for the Zen Vision:M 60GB already
on my Zen Vision:M 60GB, firmware version .2.02e, sometimes the
clean up in the service mode works fine, had also a situation
that everything went so bad that it lockedup when I turned my Zen on,
had then to refresh the firmware and lost all my music on its hard dri've,
costed me hours to get everything back on it.
Please, Creative do something about these lockups bring new firmware out
    that solves these problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please start supporting the Zen Vision:M 60GB again.

I use Widows XP Professional SP3 and Windows XP Professional x64 SP2 with medially .
I can't see why this matters because the problems are located at the player itself, I've got no
problems with moving files to the player or any problems with connecting the player with the computer,
I'm experiencing a lot of freezups of the firmware of the player, harddisk keeps running, it does that
till the battery is low or till I push reset, sometimes this doesn't help at all, the operating system at
the harddri've gets somehow damaged by the instability of the filesystem, reflashing the firmware helps
the. Problems appear to be a software problem with the firmware, the player went away for repairs once,
with this problem, they have checked the harddisk, harddisk was fine but the os crapped up it's self
somehow, know this because I asked them to tell me every thing what was wrong and how they solved this,
asked them also how I could fix the player myself? if it was no hardware problem.
They told me to reflash the firmware and format the dri've from the service mode out.
