2 versions of PC Suite neeeded?

Hi!
I have 2 phones: 8310 and 6125.
I have always used version 6.82 of PcSuite to syncronize and backup data from 6125.
Now I need to backup data from 8310, which supports only version 4.81.
If I downgrade, will I be able to restore data on my 6125 without loss? No, I suppose....
But I need to save data even from my 8310...
Is there any way I can solve this conflict?
A portable version on PcSuite doesn't exist...
What do you suggest??
Thanks for your help.
Baby

Hi Babyfan,
If you are upgrading from Nokia PC Suite 6.41 or earlier to Nokia PC Suite 6.86, synchronise your phone with the existing Nokia PC Suite before upgrading, to avoid duplicate calendar appointments. When you have installed Nokia PC Suite 6.86, rerun synchronisation.

  • How can I remove an older version of Creative Suite while deploying Creative Suite 6

After you build an install package using the Adobe Application Manager Enterprise is there a way it can be deployed to upgrade an older version of Creative Suite.   In my organization we do not need both versions and I have about 100 machines to deploy this to and do not want to have to uninstall the old Creative Suite before deploying the new one as that would take too much time.
I am also limited on hard drive space on many of my workstations so I would not like to have both Creative Suites taking up space.

Branching this discussion out and moving it to the Creative Suite Enterprise Deployment forum.  Bwilk217 the users in this forum should be able to assist you with your inquiry.

I have an old version Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium. I uninstalled it from my old computer and was trying to install it on my new computer. when you were install your cs3 you should have been prompted for you serial number.  were you?
if not, you probably didn't properly install cs3.  copying/migrating/moving etc is problematic.
if yes, did you see any error messages during installation?
if yes, attach a screenshot of the error message.

  • Which version of PC suite should I use to copy all...

I have an old Nokia 6610 which is on its last legs. There are about 130 text messages stored on the phone itself, in various subfolders within "My folders", one message in the Archive folder, and about 8 messages in the Inbox (the Inbox messages are stored on the SIM card - Vodafone Pay As You Go). I also have 14 pictures stored in a "Pics" folder in the Gallery. All my Phone book entries are stored on the SIM card. The text message memory is virtually full, and I often have to delete existing messages before new ones will arrive.
My computer is a Power Mac G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.11. For those that are interested, it's this model here:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g4/stats/powermac_g4_1.25_dp_mdd.html
On the Mac I have Microsoft Virtual PC 7.0.2 which runs a copy of Windows 2000 (5.0.0.2195 Service Pack 4) under emulation.
I have a fake/third party DKU-2 cable which came with a CD which contains the installer "Nokia_Conn_Cable_Driver_150_2_eng.exe" and the installer for PC suite 6.6.
Many months ago I ran the "Nokia_Conn_Cable_Driver_150_2_eng.exe" installer (within the Windows 2000 Virtual Machine) and also installed the latest Windows 2000 compatible version of PC Suite that I could find at the time - 6.86 (the installer file is called Nokia_PC_Suite_rel_6_86_9_3_eng_web.exe).
The software installed successfully, and it seemed to detect the phone via the DKU-2 cable, but I wasn't able to access any of the information on the phone. This isn't really surprising, given that the phone wasn't really directly connected to Windows - it was going via a Mac USB 1.1 port, masquerading as a port on the "PC".
What I am wondering is what software do I need to use so that I can copy all the text messages from the phone (& the 14 pictures too if possible) to my computer, preferably with the sender names & folder structure intact, so that when I buy a new Nokia phone, I can copy them all to it? I've not decided on which new Nokia to buy yet. It might be the N95 8GB, the N96, or perhaps just a basic model. It will be a current model though, not a second hand one.
My first choice would be to use software that was Mac native, but I'm not sure if there is any that would do the job. My second choice would be for software that could run on the Windows 2000 Virtual Machine. If neither of these options are possible, I could borrow my Dad's 6 month old PC laptop, which runs Windows Vista Home Premium, and use that.
If anyone has any experience/thoughts on this, I'd greatly appreciate their (detailed!) input & advice. Although I've very experienced IT-wise, I have zero experience of mobile phone software.
    Many thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Just to follow up from my previous post - I did indeed decide to keep the 6220 classic as my new phone.
Yesterday I installed the Nokia_Conn_Cable_Driver_150_2_eng.exe driver from the CD
that came with my third party/fake DKU-2 cable onto my Dad's Windows Vista Home Premium laptop. Knowing through 15 years bitter experience working with PCs that once a newer version of a piece of software has been installed on a PC, it can often be impossible to subsequently install an older version, even once the newer one has been successfully "removed", I decided to install the 4 versions of PC Suite at my disposal in version order, with the oldest first, and if a version didn't work, to uninstall it, and then install the next oldest one, and so on.
I started with the version that's on the CD that came with my 6610 - version 5 point something. The installation went fine, and after re-starting, I followed the instructions to connect the phone to the computer with the cable. Unfortunately a Vista error message appeared saying there was a problem with the "unrecognised" USB device. PC Suite meanwhile just got stuck in a loop trying to connect to the phone. (The phone was switched on & unlocked!). After trying unplugging & replugging the phone etc, I uninstalled PC Suite, and then tried the same thing with the next oldest version of PC Suite that I have. This is version 6.6. The exact same problem occurred. I then uninstalled that and tried a version I had downloaded many months ago - version 6.86.9.3. The same thing happened, except this time after a while PC Suite gave up trying to connect and displayed a box offering links to places like this website that might help me solve the problem. I then uninstalled that, and then installed the current version of PC Suite - 7.0.8.2. The same thing happened as with 6.86.9.3.
There are, to my mind, 2 possible explanations for all this. Either the data socket on the phone is damaged in some way, which is possible, given that the phone got wet back in February and had to be repaired, and the first repair shop i took it to managed to dislodge the charging socket (which is right next to the data socket) during their botched attempts to fix the phone (another shop fixed this), OR, as I hope is the case, the cable is the wrong one, despite it fitting perfectly.
I've noticed that in several places (the phone's manual, readme files that come with the various versions of PC Suite, etc) that the DKU-5 cable is mentioned far more often than the DKU-2, which suggests that maybe I need a DKU-5. Also, if you go to the PC Suite download page and select the 6610, the cable that's mentioned is the CA-42. Another alternative is that the DKU-2 I have just doesn't work, given that it's not a proper Nokia cable.
Does anyone have any idea which cable I actually need to use to get the PC to talk to the 6610?
Also, in case you were wondering, the reason I tried 4 different versions of PC Suite rather than just the current version is that I've read on these forums that certain newer versions of PC Suite don't have certain features that certain older versions do, depending on the phone in question. This has caused much frustration for people, judging by the comments I've read. Given that what I want to do is to copy all the text messages from the phone (& the 14 pictures too if possible) to my computer, preferably with the sender names & folder structure intact, it may be a case that an older version of PC Suite will allow me to do that, but a newer version might not. This is especially true given how old the 6610 is. Of course it may be the case that an old version of PC Suite that allows me to copy the texts & pictures to the PC won't work with my new 6220 classic. If that's the case, I hope that I can install the current version of PC Suite over the top of the old version, and then copy everything onto the new phone.
If anyone has any firm ideas about what cable (& version of PC Suite) I should be using, I'd be most grateful.
    Thanks for your attention.

  • Why can't I upgrade my student version of creative suite to a professional version?

I purchased the student version of creative suite 6 in January to learn the software for a class that my job was paying me to take.  We decided that the software was worth investing in so my company wants to upgrade my student version to a professional version.  ( It turns out I am not allowed to use student version software for professional purposes - I don't know if that is a law or just a rule).  So I call up customer support to pay for the upgrade and cancel the student version.  I am told this isn't possible and that they have to create a whole new account and charge me a cancellation fee for my old account.  Then they send me to a sales rep who was a total jerk and told me he couldn't help me and spent 20 minutes seriously making fun of me.  What kind of sales rep makes fun of people?  Then he sent me back to customer support who of course couldn't help either and they had to then sent me to a cancellation guy.  By this time, I had been on the phone for an hour.  So this guy tells me my current contract requires me to pay $79 a month and to cancel it will cost my $280? WTH?  My student version costs only $30 a month.  I have invoices to prove it.  So then he charges me $112 to cancel but he can't set up a new account.  Of course, that has to be done by somebody else.  But after this horrible experience, why should I sign up AGAIN?  And why did I have to pay $112 to cancel when what I really wanted was an upgrade?

Fasiababy1 I am sorry that you have had a difficult experience.  As Ned mentioned if you have an annual contract then your best option is to continue utilizing the student version of the software.  You are also welcome to use the Student and Teacher Edition commercially you can find more details in the Education FAQ - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/education-faq.html.  In specific the following element is relevant to your inquiry:
Can I use Student and Teacher Edition products commercially?
Yes, Student and Teacher Edition products can be used commercially.
In addition for more details regarding canceling your subscription please see our discussion regarding questions for your Creative Cloud subscription at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1146459.

  • How do I get an OLDER version of PC suite ?

I'm a Mac user - OS X 10.6. My Nokia is 3500 classic. I have 5000 SMS messages in it that I need to download to some safer location and I cannot access either the Inbox or Sent Messages with my Mac - only images and music folders.
I have an old laptop running Windows XP (with no internet connection) so I downloaded the latest PC suite to my Mac and
transported it to the XP laptop via memory stik.
The latest  version of PC suite refuses to install on the XP laptop saying that the OS version is not supported. It is XP 5.1
service pack 1. I do not wish to upgrade the junk laptop.
Can you please tell me where I can download a version of PC suite that will run on XP service pack 1. Or something that will access my sms via my Mac. All I want to do is archive my sms messages. Thanks.

One way to get links to older versions of Nokia PC suite from Nokia's web site is to pick an older phone model.  They sometimes point to older PC Suite versions -- version 6.x would suit you fine for XP SP1.  Pick a phone model from like 53 years ago and you may get lucky.
For PC Suite 6.83.20.1 pick Nokia 1006
For PC Suite 5.8 (Win98 and WinME support) pick Nokia 6100
For PC Suite 4.81 pick Nokia 6210
For PC Suite 3 pick Nokia 3650
Some of these are device specific so they may or may not work for you.

Nokia N8-00 (NAM, Product Code: 059C8T6), Symbian Belle, Type RM-596, 111.030.0609

  • Inbox in the newer versions of PC Suit

    Hello again,
I have been using the PC suit for the 6230 phones.
There in the Phone Browser, you have it clearly stated Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Sent Items, and Trash.
Then you are able to create your own Folders.
With the Folders, you can copy all your inbox and sent items into one folder, for one able to keep track.
    My questions :
    1. How do I copy those Folders which I have created, if I should change my computer and would like to have them.
    2. I also have the 6680 phone as well the PC Suit which came with the phone on CD ROM.
    - On the newer version of PC Suit I couldnt make my own folders and copy the inbox and sent items into the folder.
    - the text messages / sms were saved under the date it was saved, not with the date when I recieved or sent the sms´s.
Could you please give some solutions. Thanx in advance.

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).<br />
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F to open the File menu or other menus like the Edit menu (Alt+E) and Bookmarks menu (Alt+B) and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.
    * "Bookmark All Tabs" (Shift+Ctrl+D) no longer shows in the Bookmarks menu unless you open the Bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
    * "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.
    * "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page.

  • Can I install two versions of SOA suite using same Oracle database

    Condition:
I installed Weblogic server(10.3.5) and SOA Suite(11.1.1.5), and
I used RCU 11.1.1.5 to create the schemas(Oracle DB 11g-111170) for it.
    Plan:
Now I plan to install another Weblogic server(10.3.6) and SOA Suite (11.1.1.6)
and I will used RCU 11.1.1.6 to create the schemas for it.
    Question:
Can I use same database(Oracle DB 11g-111170) for the two versions of SOA Suite? that is
Can I Run the RCU 11.1.1.6 to create the schemas for SOA Suite (11.1.1.6) on the oracle database server I already used for SOA Suite 11.1.1.5?
If I can use same database for the two versions of SOA Suite, how can I resolve schame name conflict?

    Hi
    1. YES. You can absolutely use SAME DB to have multiple Versions of SOA Schemas.
    2. Any SOA/BPM will need basically 4/5 schemas like SOAINFRA, MDS, ORABAM, ORASDPM etc. based on what you choose. And each of these Schemas can be Prefixed. Default prefix is like DEV, so schemas are like DEV_SOAINFRA, DEV_MDS etc
    3. Very Simple. When you Run RCU 11.6 and give the same old db details, in next screen it will automatically show the new Prefix for the schemas it will create. If DEV is used, it will show DEV1 like that. So just choose a Different Prefix and you are good to go.
I have the same thing on my side. Single Database. Multiple RCU for SOA 11.5 and SOA 11.6 with different Prefixes:
    SOA 11.5 -> DEV115_SOAINFRA, DEV115_MDS, DEV115_ORABAM etc
    SOA 11.6 -> DEV116_SOAINFRA, DEV116_MDS, DEV116_ORABAM etc
I Used the Prefixes like DEV115, DEV116 so that I know exactly which version of RCU schema they refer to.
For QC, UAT, PROD we used prefixes like QC_*, UAT_*, PROD_* etc.
NOTE: When you drop the schemas for some reason, make sure to give the appropriate prefixes so that only they are dropped and not others.
    Thanks

  • Versions of Creative Suite still supported

What versions of Creative Suite does Adobe still officially support?
I saw an announcement that it not longer would authorize new installations of CS2. What about each of CS3 through CS6?

Thank you for the fast response, Bob. I work for a company that provides InDesign plug-ins, and this will help determine how long we continue to make enhancements in our plug-ins for older versions of Creative Suite. We have customers using CS2, 4, 5, 5.5 and 6, with a Creative Cloud installation on the horizon.

    Hi,
I try to re install the CS5 master collection that I have but this message appear :
Beta or prerelease versions of Creative Suite 5 Master Collection are installed on the machine, and must be uninstalled before this installation can proceed. Please uninstall these products, restart your computer, then run this installer again.
I erase all that is link to Cs5 but I think something still there.
    Can someone help me ?
    Thanks a lot
    Roch

Ok will you can try running the uninstaller which is located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installer.  It may not function due to the method you utilized to remove the software.  If you still have problems then you can try running the CS5 Cleanup Script - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

When I go to my contacts with the nokia phone browser, the list is empty.
It works well with my old version of pc suite 6.82 but since I'm upgraded it to the 6.83.14.1, the list is empty.
    I'm under vista.
    Thanks

    The data location change from "\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\PC Suite\phone imei" to "\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Nokia\ContactsEditor" for the 6.83.

  • I think I need an older version of PC Suite. Pleas...

    Hi,
I have an old Nokia Model 2126 and an orig. manu. Nokia CA-42 data cable. (I love this phone. It has voice dialing which I need).
I learned in another user group that the newer versions of PC Suite just don't work on the older phones like the 2126.
I tried the newest version of PC Suite and it can't even find my phone, so I guess it's true that the newer versions dont' work with the older phones.
All I want to do is add a good midi ringtone to the phone. I already have the ringtone and it's only 7KB, so it should take it.
It looks like I really do need the 6.70.22 version. Does anyone know where I can find a download for it?
Failing that, here's what I'm working with:
    Nokia Model 2126
CA-42 data cable (wtih the driver CD)
    Windows XP
How can I add a ringtone to it?
    Gracias,
    Mykem

Well now I have the 6.70.22 version of Nokia PC Suite.
But I still can't get the 2126 phone to connect.
The system tray shows the program with and a little phone icon. BUT it shows the phone with that damned red circle with the white X on it.
No matter what I tried to do, it read "no phones connected."
When I go to "Get Connected," the mouse pointer has the hourglass next to it and nothing loads so I can go to the next screen.
    So now I'm working with:
    Nokia PC Suite 6.70.22
    Nokia Model 2126 phone
CA-42 data cable (with the driver CD)
    Windows XP
I've been working this off and on for three days now... and all I want to do is a midi file. It shouldn't be this difficult.
    Thanks,
    Mykem
