2 Videos on one slide

It seems as I'm having a great deal of problems with Captivate today.
I need a slide that contains 2 videos.  One plays on slide opening and then the other video to display when the first one is finished. I've tried Blank slides and Insert Slide Video.  Both give me the error message - "The slide already contains a slide video.  Remove the video to continue."
Is there a way to have 2 videos on one page??

Hi there
Why not simply have two slides with a video on each? After the first plays, transition to the second slide and second video.
If the vids play one after the other, not seeing why two slides won't do the trick. The user will never know.

  • How do I make multiple videos on one slide play in full screen when selected?

I want to put four short videos per slide and have each play in full screen when I click on them. How can I do this? Thanks

I've figured out to hyperlink to the video in a different presentation, which works. BUT how do I end back on my original slide?

  • Multiple videos on one slide

i finally got a video to play within my keynote (for iPad) slide. *not full screen, but within the design.
my problem is that i want to have 3 tiny videos playing at the same time, each about 175px x 90 px tall.
What's happening is that the first video appears and plays.  But when the second video appears and starts to play the FIRST video stops. Then when the third video appears and plays (and loops) while second stops and the first remains stopped.
I'd like them all three to play and loop simultaneously. This works on the mac side. Could it be a limitation of the iPad hardware?
    I'm open for suggestions.

The same problem... I dont know what to do... :-(

  • Multiple videos in one window

Just starting out with captivate and have a query I'm hoping someone can answer - Is it possible to have one video window/player with different buttons next to it, and depending on what button the user selected, it would play a different video? For example, I have three videos, but only want one to play if the user selects it. They could then click a different button to view another video in the same window.
    Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Why should this be on the same slide? You can have three slides, each with all buttons and the three videos and have the buttons navigate to the proper slide where the video will play. For the user this will not be visible, but it is way more simple than trying to achieve this on one slide. It can be done with advanced actions, hide and show, some micro-navigation but since you tell that you are a newbie, I think this will be too advanced for the moment. And I hope you are talking about slide video or inserted FLV, not about separate Captivate movies.

  • Can I record everything in just one slide?

    Hello,
I’m trying to create an 30-second flash animation of
our software, with some textual callouts. Since I’ve got the
Adobe Technical Communication Suite, I figured I’d use
Captivate for the job, but I’m new to it and can’t get
my head around some things. If someone has the time to point me in
the right direction, I’d appreciate it. I have tried checking
the help and rummaging through forums, but still can’t get it
to work the way I want.
I’m using the “Full Motion Recording” mode,
since our software is pretty interactive in real-time and I want to
show that. All I want is to do is record about 30 seconds of me
using our software, and afterwards add text callouts here and
there, before exporting to an .swf file.
Question 1: Captivate automatically chops up my recording
into several “slides”, is there a way to make it put
everything in just one slide? Or set the default time of a slide in
order to get my entire recording in one single slide? The problem
is, if I want to place a callout just between two slides…
well, I can’t do that right? I just want one and the same
    timeline for my entire recording.
Question 2: After the recording is done, is there a way to
adjust the speed, or pause, certain segments of the recording? For
example, if I realize that the viewer of my flash video needs a
couple of seconds longer to read a certain callout, I want to
“pause” or “extend” that point in the
timeline for a bit. Can I do that, or do I need to record the
entire thing from the beginning and actually pause myself at the
    appropriate time?
I’d be thankful for all advice and suggestions. I
realize I’m new to this, so any nudges in the right direction
    would be appreciated!
    /Tom

    Hey there Tom
From my experience, the only time I need full motion is
during a drag & drop or scrolling type of action when the view
    "moves" like a film.
My suggestion is that you plan what you want to do (click
here, then there, then select that button etc.)
Step 2 is to start a new project and select "Demonstration"
as the recording type, spec the size of the recording window if
needed and start recording (You might want to use auto capture
which would automatically record all interactions and key strokes,
but please remember to "manually" capture certain screens using
Print Screen e.g. after a drop down menu has opened.) (Hint 2 -
Rather record too many screens than miss one critical one out)
Step 3 would be to stop recording and edit the individual
slides with captions, animations etc. At this stage, you can
specify exactly how long each screen would display, when your
captions etc appear and for how long they show.
In summary, a decently built demo has a seperate slide for
each change in what the user would see on the screen, with FMR
being used to "tie together" 2 views where a movement action causes
    the transition.
    Hope this helps

  • Captivate 7 HTML 5 publish does not play multiple videos on same slide on Android devices

    Hello,
I have a captivate module which has 2 videos on same slide. There are 2 buttons, clicking on which the videos appears. However when i test this on iPad or any Android device, it plays on 1 video. I used Event video. Can someone please help me on this?
    Regards
    Manoj

I don't think you are missing anything. I am using the "Light_PAssage" animantion, but switching to the one you used has no impact.
For me, if there is a text animation on slide one, it will play in File->Preview->Play Slide. It will not play in FIle->Preview->Project, From this slide, or Next 5 slides.
The issue occurs in all my Captivate 5 projects, including projects that previously generated properly working outputs as recently as 2/23/2011.
Is it possible it's related to Flash player? I am using Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX 10.2.152.26.
I will send an example cptx to your email address. The example includes a blank slide one, and the text on slide 2 plays as expected in the previews and in the generated output. If I remove the blank slide 1, the text animation on the new slide 1 no longer plays.
    Thanks.

  • Insert two photos on one slide in iMovie 11?

I'm fairly new to iMovie but have had experience with Powerpoint presentations.
I am doing a project that has a lot of picture elements inserted in it. Is there a way I can place two photos in one frame and have them transition onto it? To make this clearer...one photo say goes to the left in frame, says in the shot, then the next photo pans right and both can be viewed on the one slide??
    ~Thank you

While you can use Photos in iMovie... it does not excel at it. You would be better off with something like Photo to Movie then importing that as part of your video project. BUT even with that tool it really does not support have 2 or more pictures on the screen at one time.
    http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
You could use a program like Photoshop and do it there and use those photos or use Final Cut are the (2) ways I can think of.

  • How can I create a collage of multiple photos on one slide using Premiere Elements 4.0?

    Hi all!
I recently bought Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0. I'm having trouble with something and was wondering if anyone could offer any assistance?
I'm creating a slideshow using photos and videos, but with my photos I want to be able to create a few collages, by using multiple photos on the one slide. Usually you just have one photo on the screen and it moves on to the next one, but I'd like to have eg. the occassional slide that I can have say 4 photos overlapping onto each other, like a photo collage. Does this make sense and does anyone know how I can do this? I've searched the instructions and can't figure it out and the Adobe support line said they couldn't tell me but pointed me to this forum...
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks :)

There are basically two ways, with a variation, to do this.
First, you could size the still images in Photoshop, or other, for the size needed on your Project's screen and then use Motion to position the image where you want it. The variation on this would be to use Motion>Scale to size the image and then Motion to place it where you wanted. You would stack the images on various Video Tracks as necessary.
The other way would be to place the images on the correct Video Track and use the Track Matte to limit the view of that image. You will probably use one of the two variations from the first way (Motion>Scale and/or Motion) to get the image where you want it, but then the Track Matte (building in Titler is easy) to eliminate any extraneous image data.

  • Adding videos to a slide show

I have added a video to my slide show in Elements 7 and when I try to preview the show, Photoshop completely closes. What is going on?

I plan on using a DVD player to view the show. I have tried Movie Maker but I could not figure out how to get the show off of my computer since a DV camera is required and I do not have one. The DVD software that came with my PC is Cyberlink PowerDVD. I cannot use this because I do not have a DVD burner.
    Thank you.
You say that you do not have a DVD burner on your PC - so please explain in some detail how you plan to use the DVD player for your TV. For example, does your DVD player for the TV have a slot where you can insert a USB device? What is the make and model of the DVD player machine? Or did you mean that you will use DVD player software with your computer connected to your TV?
Movie Maker - you don't need a DV camera : you can output a WMV file from Movie Maker just as you can from the Photoshop Elements Slide Show Editor.  The dilemma seems to be that neither of these programs will produce a video DVD conforming output.
Here are some ideas that I was developing - however, we do need to understand what type of output you have the capability to play in order to determine what will help for your specific situation:
I was thinking that an approach might be to make each section of slide show in PSE Slide Show Editor and separately output each as a separate WMV file. Then use Windows Movie Maker and layout sections of the slide show with your video files in between the slide show sections as you wish.  Then you could output a single wmv file from Windows Movie Maker.  Another alternative would be to do everything in Windows Movie Maker and not use the PSE slide show editor at all.

  • Audio not working on one slide when publishing to HTML5

I'm in Captivate 8. In one slide in my project no slide audio will play when published to html5. I've tested in Chrome and IE 11. In Chrome, I see the 'speaker' icon that appears when audio or video is running but no sound comes up. (The speaker appears for the length of the audio file ~5 sec) All other slides are fine, and the slide audio plays correctly if I use F3 or F10 to preview the slide inside Captivate.
The slide in question is a 'menu' only reached via an advanced action. I know the advanced action is not the culprit - if I change it to jump to a different slide, the audio on that slide plays without problem.
Similarly, I've verified that if I place this audio file on a different slide, it plays fine, but if I add a different audio file to this slide the problem remains. If I create a button on the problem slide to trigger the audio it plays, (but is unhelpful since I want the audio to play automatically when the user enters the slide).
I've tried removing/re-adding the audio, recreating the slide from a copy, setting the audio to play via an "on enter" advanced action, and adding a play trigger to the advanced action that jumps to this slide. Nothing I've tried gets the audio to play.
I'd welcome any suggestions of what might be happening or how to fix this.
    Thank you,
    Jenny Nilsson

    Hi Lieve,
Thank you, yes, if I view using f12 the audio works correctly.
The "exitBranch" action is associated with a continue button at the end of each branch. If all branches have been visited, it jumps to a new slide, if there are unvisited branches, it jumps back to the menu slide where the audio is not working. (If I edit the action to jump somewhere else the audio will work for the different slide.)
The action was created from a shared action and my colleague and I have used it in multiple other modules without this error.
    Thanks,
    Jenny N

  • 8 videos in one captivate 7 project?

    Hello,
my customer would like 8 standard-definition 4-6 minute videos shot with 5 questions or so after each video to test if the learner understood what was explained.  This project is to be later uploaded onto Skillport, an LMS.  Could anyone inform me of the practicality of this?  Is that doable or would the Captivate file explode due to its size?  :  )
    Thanks for any advice!  Ryan

I have 5 event videos in one Captivate project -- each 4 - 12 MB -- and I publshed the project to my desktop as a .swf file to test it.  I got a screwy result.
The project consists of 5 slides, each with an event video.  In the published playback, pushing play on the event video in the first slide (not the project play bar, but the video play bar) does not play the 1st event video like you might expect, but advances you to the next slide.  When you then press play on the 2nd slides video (not Captivate playbar, but video playbar) , you are advanced to the third slide, and so on until you get to the fifth and final slide. On the fifth slide, when you press the event video's play button the first time, nothing happens.  On the second push, a video finally starts, but it's actually the video on the first slide.  It seems to play without  problem...
Any thoughts on alleviating this problem?
I also considered something like <iframes> tags on each slide, and just uploading the videos onto YouTube, but I dont think you can imbed iframe tags into Flash file...

  • Video across multiple slides

hi, is there any way i can get any version of keynote to play video across multiple slides, i have a looping starfield video that i want to play behind the whole of a pretty complex award show presentation, due to each slide already having 58 builds its not preally practicle to have all the stuff merged into one slides so video behind the full show is really my only option
    Many thanks
    Ben

No it is not possible to have a movie play across multilple slides in Keynote. But there might be a workaround. Is the final video going to be automatically playing where you have preset all the timing or are you going to be clicking through it as you go?
If you are going to time everything out and then just have it play, one option (which I have never tried) would be to make the background of all the slides green. Then export to iMovie and use the Greenscreen feature to put the lopping starfield video behind it. Like I said, I have never tried to use the greenscreen feature, so I have no idea how well it will work, but would be worth a try.

  • Help - Multiple Buttons on One Slide

I have a slide with three navigational buttons on it:  Menu, Back, Next.  I have the pause option checked on the Menu button and I have it set to pause at the end of the slide.  These work fine.  Menu jumps to one slide.  Back goes to the previous slide.  Next goes to the next slide.  Not sure if you need this information but wanted to add it anyway.
Then I have two additional buttons, "Right Answer" and "Wrong Answer".  I did no want to use the Quiz Maker to create some "knowledge checks" so I am creating "interactivity" using buttons and click boxes.  (I am using Quiz Maker for the Final Exam portion of the lesson and did not want the "Review Quiz" piece at then to include the Knowledge Checks.)  When the user clicks the Right Answer button, I want a caption that I have built to show.  If the user clicks the Wrong Answer, I want the user to show another caption and another button (that when clicked, will take the user to the slide containing that information so they can review).  The two captions I mentioned here are hidden until the user clicks.
This is not working as I envisioned it.  For some reason, only when clicking the Right Answer button does the action do as expected.  When clicking the Wrong Answer, it does not.  Can someone please help me figure out what I have wrong here?

    Hi there
Likely what you are encountering is something we all have to deal with. The fact that once a Button has been clicked, the pause is released and the playhead continues merrily along until something else pauses it. Perhaps another Button with the pause point staged slightly farther ahead in time.
Imagine your Captivate movie to be very much like a stream. Imagine you start where the stream begins and you insert a little boat. It floats along until something stops it. Perhaps a stick lying across the stream. That stick is like the pause point on the Button. So let's say you click the Button by pressing it down. Imagine you have pressed the little boat down just as you pressed the button. It slides under the stick and continues until it is stopped again.
What you need is a way to keep the boat paused at the stick. So you need to perform an action. Not only do you press down on the boat, but you reposition it further upstream again so it can float back to the stick where it waits again to be dealt with.
So to accomplish this in Captivate, normally you create an Advanced Action that carries out the act of showing the Caption you want to show, then it repositions the playhead backwards a bit. You can also accomplish this by assigning one of the actions on the button click to be to Jump to the previous slide. And perhaps you time that previous slide as short as can be. Maybe .1 seconds or so.
If you wish to tackle the Advanced Actions avenue, see if the video recording linked below helps.

  • Creating a presentation with audio, video, narrative, and slides

What is the best solution to create a presentation that shows a slide show with background music but also allows for a speaker to show some keynote slides in between. I'm giving a report of a recent mission trip abroad and would like to show pictures of the different regions we visited but also make comments and show slides along the way possibly including some video clips. I heard iDVD is good for the slide show. Any comments??

Actually it's the other way round. iDVD is primarily for making DVD's. You can make a keynote presentation and export it for iDVD for display on a dvd player.
Keynote has a range of transitions that determine how you move from one slide to the next. You should download the free trial if you haven't done so already. If you are putting together a presentation you should use keynote as it is primarily designed for presentaions

  • How do I make a video on one track expand in size over a video on a second track? Elements 11

How do I make one a video on one track expand in size over a video on a second track?
    Thanks.

    Sminty
Thanks for the follow up with additional very helpful information.
What you need to do is to keyframe the Motion Scale property so that it changes over the duration of the whole photo
rather than  Scale being applied to the whole photo uniformly.
Two ways you could do the keyframing of Scale..
    a. from the Timeline
    or
    b. from Applied Effects/Applied Effects Palette/Motion Panel expanded and its Scale Property there, using Toggle Animation to initiate the process.
For now, I will describe "b"
Your scaled down image on Video Track 2
Your regular image on Video Track 1
Your Timeline Indicator at the beginning of the Timeline.
Select/Highlight the image on Video Track 2, go to Applied Effects Tab/Applied Effects Palette/Motion Panel Expanded and its Scale Property
    That area should look like
You get an abbreviated version of the above screenshot if you do not hit the Show/Hide Keyframe Controls icon. With it opened, you will see the actual keyframes being placed.
With your Timeline Indicator at the beginning of the Timeline and Video Track 2 Image selected, click on the Toggle Animation Icon. That will set the Scale property keyframes
which at that time will be at a value less than 100% because you are starting with a scaled down Video Track 2 Image.
Then move the Timeline Indicator to the last frame of the clip. Then move the Scale slider to 100% or whatever % gives you Video Track 2 Image just to full frame so
that you do not see the Video Track 1 image. Render the Timeline by pressing of the Enter key of the computer main keyboard or pressing the Render button above
    the Timeline.
All sorts of things can be done by keyframing a property. The property could be other than Scale (some examples might be Position, Opacity, certain effects applied
    to Timeline content, etc.)
Please review and consider and then let us know if that worked for you. Do not hesitate to ask for clarification if needed.
    Thank you.
