20" display good for cs 3

hello, i am looking to get a new comp within the next month and am looking at displays. i'm not too familiar with all the specs info (it gets confusing). i would like to use cs3 but, not professionally, its more for me to learn the programs better and play around and maybe do some minor work on the side to get better - nothing big-scale. i was eyeing the dell 2009 wfp ultasharp. i use to have the 2407 ultrasharp and i thought it was great but this time around i am looking at downsizing to possible two 20" monitors. what are some monitor specs i should keep an eye out when deciding.

I use a 20" monitor myself. Non widescreen HP LP2065. I chose this model as it packed the same amount of pixels as my old Dell 21" CRT namely 1600 x 1200. Nice and sharp. To get more than this in widescreen, you normally need to go to 23 or 24" which until recently were very expensive!

Is the MacBook Pro with retina display good for gaming?

I was looking at the MacBooks and I was thinking about the one with retina display. I wanted to know if it was good for gaming also. Just something like skyrim or maybe WOW.

If you're not a heavy gamer, then yes it will be great.
I play WoW at full retina display with the performance I noted above - if you have trouble, you could always revert to 1440x900 just for WoW and Skyrim.
I know WoW lets you choose a resolution within the game so nothing wo worry about outside - not sure about Skyrim but maybe so?
I am a light gamer. I used to have a 2011 MBA, just an off the shelf model with no upgrades, and it played WoW very well for its size etc.
An iMac would be great too. For the price of a rMBP you could go for an iMac for games/home use and a base spec MBA for working on outside...?
However iMacs are pretty outdated atm - not allowed to say much on here but might wanna wait for something to happen...

Thank you so much for your advice. And yes it worked out perfectly i am so happy with it, it is a fabulous machine, i love apple products that are very impressive with regards to technology and keeping out the viruses that all other computers can get.
I told my husband that he should be lucky and he laughed lol, yes he loves it too. When we pay for something here we are very protected even if its a private sale, even better when through paypal, which is a good thing. The trading standards here are very strict and have to pass all sorts and if no its thrown out plus the banks give us protection when we buy something too, if its not what it should be we are reimbursed and the seller has to pay the bank then, so yes we are very lucky.
I agree this community is fabulous, plus i am very happy also as i was able to "pay it forward" too i answered somebody's question that i knew the answer to i was so chuffed to bits hehe.
Du to my disabilities i have to spend lots of time in hospital and when at home i spend most the time on the bed due to my spinal injury, from hit and run, so robert bought me the iPad 2 when it girst came out and i have love it all the time, still do but wanted to be able to do lots more so we decided to buy another macbook and so glad i found this one, whether i have to lie down or sit on the couch even for short periods i have the macbook on a lap try, has polystyrene balls in then a hard tray attached to it so the macbook is ver on anything soft, so it is very protected.

I don't think you can realize it, because in SAP system there are 6 influncing factors:
Material Type
Plant
Industry sector
Transaction
Procurement indicator
SAP Delivery
Field selection is controlled by field references. You can assign field references to the influencing factors material type, plant, and industry sector in Customizing. SAP maintains the assignment of the field reference to the transaction codes, to the procurement types, and for the SAP delivery. You cannot change this assignment of these field references in Customizing.
So from my point of view, you can't use the factors of material type, plant and industry sector to distinguish different users' authorization.

It's the Mac book air good for graphic design and video editing ?

I'm into graphic design for clothing logos etc. and I'm a photographer my question is, is the Mac book air good for these things?

ideally a 15" would be best for same, as referring to the 15" macbook Pro.
For a photographer, which I used to be long ago, either the Air or Pro are close in form factor for travel with only one moving part, and SSD.
The retina display in combination with the 15" would be idea as best choice for photo editing and graphic design.

Up-to-date Display Driver for Dv6-3077CA?

I recently bought an HP Dv6-3077CA (Intel Core i5 2.26GHz, 4GB DDR3 ram and 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5650)and was looking to play some Starcraft II the other day when I noticed that many of the Graphics options were grayed out and unchangeable.
My first step towards fixing this was checking the Blizzard website for info and noticed that the required display drivers for Starcraft II to even detect my graphics card were the ATI Mobility Catalyst Drivers version 10.2. I then proceeded to find my current version and discovered I was running 10.1.
Now my next step was the obvious one of going to the ATI website and downloading the Mobility Catalyst Drivers for my Graphics Card which I did but could not install. I recieved an error message from the Software installer that I had software on my computer interfering with the installation and that I needed to get the Drivers from the manufacturer's website. So of course I came to the HP website and located the download for my Drivers and went through the download and install process.
Nothing went wrong during this step, but upon rechecking my Driver Version I saw that it had not changed at all! I was still only running 10.1. So my questions are the following :
Did I have the incorrect Drivers by any chance?
Is there a way for me to safely get the Drivers from the ATI website?
And if the answer is no for the above questions, When will HP release the proper up-to-date Drivers for my Mobility Radeon 5650?

I appologize about you not getting a response untill now.
Your drivers are correct and the latest it just seems that a newer HP driver has not been released for this particular product. Even though it is not supported by HP you can uninstall the display driver currently installed and try the ATI ones to resolve your issue. I don't have a dv6-3000 to test your exact issue on but I did try Catalyst 10.9 on an Envy 14 w/ the Radeon HD 5650 graphics card. It did install and function correctly.

The retina display MacBook Pros are very lightweight, so you won't really notice a weight difference between a 15" or 13" one. If you can afford it, get the 15" notebook.
Purchase the most powerful configuration you can afford. If you can afford it, get the larger SSD - but, you can always get a portable external hard drive that you can take with you if you find the internal drive is too small.

What is C++ good for?

I think it's kind of weird that Microsoft can't build a class designer that displays manged types in C++. Why is it that C++ always comes last out of all of the languages! I know it isn't the most popular language but still, you begin to feel like Microsoft are trying to shut it off so there are only 2 languages, C# and VB. Over the years I have learned to program in C++ because of the pointer functionality and the sense of control you have over your code. Where as in C# you know less about what pointers and memory are doing and as a result it makes it easier to program in C#.
But then it begs the question what is C++ really good for at the end of the day. There is less and less functionality for it and it's language with many syntax obstacles compared to the easy and quick ways of writing C# code.
I would really appreciate different sides of the debate because then it might help me to realize that learning all about C++ wasn't such a waste of time after all.

but today they even call html and css a "programming" language ... that's like saying "hey, I'm a chef, I know how to cook water"
it's true, that we should talk about C/C++ and not about C++ alone and it's also true, that there are things in those language which I would like to change... but far less than in C#, Java and VB... oh and by the way: no, it's not complicated,
it's powerful ... with C/C++ you can program the machine! you can decide what it should do! and you know if you're talking about a pointer, a variable, and integer or what ever...
and if somebody is passing a string by value... well, then... this person simply isn't a programmer... that's it ...
so, again... what is C/C++ good for? it's the only way to write computer programs

I am not a PC security expert but that software looks pretty suspicious to me. If you google the name of the software there are a large number of posts from people asking how to remove it and suggesting that it has been installed without their consent.
I suspect that it is adware which hijacks the users browser home page / default search, displays adverts and generates revenue for the owner. It is possible that it also causes other security issues.
I don't know enough about that software to feel confident in telling you that you '''should''' remove it (especially if you are getting value from the service it offers) but I will say that I wouldn't feel comfortable having it running on my own machine.
If you like the software then by all means keep it but I do suggest running a range of antiviurs / malware removal tools. These will run alongside your existing anti-virus software:

Display times for "action objects"

I work on a MacBook Pro, MaxOSX 10.7.5, Captivate 6.
I need to hide a button that we have made as part of a "overlay" GUI - a form of CSS. We created a master project and coded it to be downloaded to all our other projects as a overall GUI.
But in some projects I'd like to hide a single button - not to be able to press. Not through the whole project but after let's say three to five slides. I tried using a simple smartshape but the hidden area can still be clicked. Using clickboxes or button allow me to over ride the "CSS-button" but they have a major flaw: they only last the rest of the slide and I'd like to have them throughout the entire project.
Copy-paste is NOT an option in this case - the project lenghts are vast ...
Is there a clickbox, button, other object or advanced action that could make an "action object" to be displayed throughout the entire project?
Or is there a widget och well trimmed programmer out there that could solve this?

I guess I wasn't as clear as I should when describing
my issue.
In our work we have made a "Master Project" to function
as a sort of CSS (Cascade Style Sheet) - just like you did in
former web design.
The Master Project functions roughly as a Master Slide
but it has some benefits that a Master Slide isn't capable of.
We use the Master Project to export our interface to
all the other projects within the e-learning project.
So instead of having to make changes in the Master Slide
in every project we have a better control of GUI
changes affecting the overall e-learning project.
Your links have given us a great tool to work with!
We have completely missed the possibility to convert
a smartshape to a button and with that making it
posible to be displayed throughout the project.

well. Perhaps it is only a matter of terminology. What do you mean by 'Master
Project'? Is that a template, in which you have a custom theme, perhaps some
advanced actions, variables, and of course master slides? You need interactive

I'm having exactly the same problem as Kitcarhans just as of now, with the same font (Lato).
I tried to follow Abhishek's recommended steps, but they are unclear to me, and in any case, didn't have any effect.
"2. Rename the folders named tk1 and tk2 in the following locations"
Not sure what this step is instructing me to do; rename them to what new name? Any? The same?
"3. Launch Muse and add the font again"
The font was never removed… was it supposed to have been? Well, in any case, I tried removing and then re-adding, but no effect there either…
Could you clarify these instructions for me, or if they don't apply to the current problem, advise? The two websites I'm working on now both use Lato, so I can't do much of anything until I solve this problem…

Hi Saba,
the proposals (values maintained in SU24) should save time to role administrators.
The developers maintain those values which make sense in their eyes. As example if they provide a transaction for creation of an item, they propably would maintain the activity 01, for a display transaction actvt=03 and so on. That will save time to admins, as they would not have to enter the values once more (compared to an empty field....). Of course, that proposals are still proposals only!
For complex transactions it makes sense, to have a proposal of which authorization objects are necessary to be able to execute that transaction.
Maybe you can remember the old procedure before pfcg had been invented - it was hard work first to identify all the objects checked with its values, then create the corresponding authorizations in SU03, then create the corr. profiles in SU02 and finally assign that profiles to users in SU01. That was really time consuming....
So the invention of pfcg opened a very comfortable and quick possibility for that tasks with a high range of automatism. Of course this automatism can only be as good as the values which are behind it. So having accurate SU24 settings help a lot.
