20-inch Intel Core 2 Duo pixel pitch

Can anyone tell me what the pixel pitch is on the new 20" iMac?
Thanks.

You mean pixel resolution of the iMac's display?
17-inch - 1440x900
20-inch - 1680x1050
24-inch - 1920x1200
All located on Apple's store/Tech specs for the iMac.

  • How much Memory Should my IMac have?  iMac, 24-inch, Intel Core 2 Duo

Hi, I have a problem. I have a iMac, 24-inch, Intel Core 2 Duo which had to have a hard drive replaced. Brought it home today and it is not the same? It makes weird noises when processing info and it seems to run slower. I noticed that the memory is only 1GB and this model should have 2 or something along those lines? It seems as though they didn't replace this with what I had on my original one? Can anyone help me, let me know how to verify that I am lacking what I had on this machine when I bought it and what should this model have on it? I am so ****** off right now, it isn't funny!
Also, I can't go into my Iphoto and make any of my pictures a desktop image. That leads me to believe it is a low memory issue. Right?

What imac do you have how old is it. The 2.4ghz 20inch model still comes with 1gb as standard in the uk anyway. most intel imac including mine are totally silent, is it overheating download a great widget called istat pro at http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/status/istatpro.html this will show you your fan and temp etc. If it in warranty then take it back to apple or phone them with the machine serial number and they will inform you to what spec the imac was shipped to you. The desktop image problem - go-to system preferences then to desktop and screen saver you will find all your iphoto folder and events in the right hand side just click on your image this should work.

  • NEW 24 INCH intel core 2 duo. sweet!

Very nice, I've always wanted a bigger iMac and wondered why they didn't make one. I'm on a G5 20inch now and it works 100% perfectly. BUt the 24 incher is very compelling!

Myself, never felt the need for a bigger one, the 20-inch is perfect for what I want it to do. Perhaps in the future...
It's pretty obvious why a 24-inch was not offered sooner, as the retail price would have been too expensive to create enough demand to justify production.

  • IMAC Intel Core 2 Duo -- from Blue Screen to Shut Down -- Need Assistance

I have the iMac 20-inch Intel Core 2 Duo.
Was on the internet last night and the computer completely locked up, got he spinning pinwheel, waited for about 5 minutes and tried a force quit with no luck. I shut it down and then powered it back up and only got to the blue screen. Shut it down again, same problem. Let it sit for a couple of hours to see if it would fully boot but nothing. Searched a bit on the apple support site and went with the reccomendation of trying to start in safe mode, got to the grey apple screen, then it went black and shut down on its own and has done that every time since.
I have unplugged everything several times, reset the PRAM and still nothing.
I have been getting the spinning pinwheel off and on over the past few weeks but a force quit would usually clear the application. I have been experiencing problems accessing hotmail lately so I have been clearing the history and deleting cookies, this has been the only way I have been able to access hotmail. Don't know if that has anything to do with this or not.
Additionally the computer has been gradually getting slower over the past few months. Didn't really think much of it at the time.
My biggest concern is losing the data I have saved on the hard drive right now. Getting the computer to work again would be nice too as I only bought it about a year and a half ago.
Any assistance or info greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Fixing a Mavericks Installation Problem
How to manage a failed OS X Mavericks installation | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews.
    Try these in order:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • How do I get more memory for my Macbook Pro Spring 2010 13-inch with 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo?

How do I get more memory for my Macbook Pro spring 2010 13-inch with 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Apple says no memory currently available for that model. I have 4 GB memory and 3.99 used. Help!

    $45.99
Also what do you mean that actual memory is 16GB but with Apple it's 8?
When I go to the "About this Mac" it says Memory 4G 1067 MHz DDR3, then when I go to System Report it says
     Memory Slot
    Bank 0/ DIMM0 2G DDR3 1067 MHZ OK
    Bank 1/ DIMM0 2G DDR3 1067 MHZ OK
Sorry I'm clueless. Just don't want to buy something that messes up my machine more than it already is.
The Crucial site appears to have recommended the correct spec 4gB RAM stick for your model. Please note that you will need to remove the existing sticks of RAM to install new, so you will need 2x4gB to get to 8gB.
When your model of computer was designed/built, it was tested with readily available 2x4gB (8gB). After release RAM retailers have tested it with higher amounts, and Apple didn't update their quoted specs.

  • Hi I just got my new Apple TV and I cant figure out how to connect it with My MacBook Air (11-inch, Late 2010- Processor  1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) OSX Version 10.8

    Hi
Hi I just got my new Apple TV and I cant figure out how to connect it with My MacBook Air (11-inch, Late 2010- Processor  1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) OSX Version 10.8

Are you referring to mirroring or you just unable to set up homesharing.
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). It also requires the computer to be using wi-fi.

  • IMac 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (24-inch) - 2 or 4 slots ?

    Hi,
Crucial's memory selector tells me that I can install a maximum of 4GB of memory on my iMac 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (24-inch). Why does the system info show me that I have 4 slots with 2 being empty (see picture below) ?
    Regards.

    Hi,
I found the reason why System Info is displaying 4 slots ... it's because I have 4 slots.
I have a 21,5" monitor not a 24". It is identified as an iMac10,1 model and the good news is that I can upgrade to 16Gb of memory.
That being said, I would like to upgrade, because I often find that my computer is slow. If I go to the Activity Monitor utility, iI think that my memory requires an upgrade but how much more should I put in ? See the memory display below.
Also can someone tell me if I could experience a faster computer if my processor is not used intensively, like shown below.

Can the monitor be fixed on an iMac if it goes black (2006 17-inch, intel core duo)?

Apple consider this product vintage so they won't perform any hardware service on it. You may have to look towards 3rd parties.

    Hi,
    This is the compatibility list
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
if your iMac is mid2007 or newer - yes.
You will need to upgrade to 10.6 (Snow Leopard) first buy DVD from online apple store
Then to 10.7 Lion - buy and download via Store App included in SL
and then 10.8 Mountain Lion upgrade the same steps as Lion

The GPU in a iMac is NOT upgradeable.
You should check to see if your model of iMac meets the minimum specs to run FCPX.
I believe that your GPU is NOT OpenCL capable, and hence not supported.
Even if it works, you would probably get marginal performance.
What you can do is download the trial version and see how (and if) it works.

what would you like to know? I just got mine. mostly it seems great, the only problem I have with it is the screen doesn't have even backlighting.. there is a horizontal area along the bottom that is a bit brighter and a couple of patches elsewhere which aren't top notch either. don't know if it will settle down with use or not. for me, I think it's fine, I'm not a photoshop pro needing the most accurate and perfect display possible, I work in music.
so far, it hasn't woken up from sleep (overnight) once, so I had to hold down the power button and then restart. that worked fine, and the thing boots up so quickly that it was hardly even a nuisance. I'll prob wait and see if that happens more than once before I consider a firmware update if there is one, no need to risk any more problems unless it really becomes an issue.
as far as performance is concerned, I was shocked at how fast it is. pleasantly surprised that I'd underestimated what to expect.
so really, for me so far the only let down is a less than perfect screen. frankly, I had been wondering how apple had become so cost competitive all of a sudden. this top of the line macbook pro is significantly cheaper than the top of the line powerbook of a few years ago, and yet is on a par with or faster than many desktop machines, which the powerbooks never were. I hate to say it but it looks like they've cut some corners on the contracting to actually build the machines, along with some of the components used, notably the screens. apple design is still fantastic, but the machine just doesn't reek of absolute A-grade build quality like the old ones did when we were paying a premium. this is just my impression, and it's a pity cos it's the first time I've gone for a flagship apple portable. I'm typing this on my PB 12" and I can definitely feel that this machine is just built better, and the components (including the screen even if it is less bright) seem to be better quality.
that said, as long as it keeps performing the way it does now, I'm more than happy. I needed a fast machine that I can take to different locations with me and this one is giving me way better performance than I'd hoped for.

That folder with a question mark means your computer can't find the hard drive. It's possible the drive is physically damaged, but it may also be an error in the system files that has the computer "lost."
Do you have your install discs handy? If so, pop in Install Disc 1 and hold the C key while booting the computer. Once the Installer loads, choose "disk Utility" from the Utilities menu. Does your Hard drive appear? If so, choose the Repair Disk option. If you see any messages saying something can't be repaired, post the messages here. Also check the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive; this is in the lower right corner of the window.
    Best of luck!
