20 PAGE BROCHURE

Hello. Can you give me an idea as to how well iWork will handle image rich office brochures? I print our architectural brochures onto a photo printer still using Pagemaker. I obviously need to get this onto an OSX application and don't need the complexity of a Quark. My brochures are not very complex graphically, just full of images, and I just want the program to easily handle the images and not get all bogged down when I am either moving an image, or adding text, or going to the next page. Any input that you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Kurt.
iMac 800 Mhz   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

The brief experiment I did with moving an image with wrap on at Macworld was much faster than Pages 1. A check just now with one of my newsletters with Pages 2 wasn't as fast as the test at Macworld, but was definitely faster than the same file in Pages 1.

  • How to send pages brochure as an email

I made a really nice Pages brochure and now I want to send it to clients in an email.  I'd rather not have it there as a file... I'd rather they get the email and see the beautiful brochure, right there in the email.  Is there a way to do this?  I tried copy and paste but nothing is happening with that, the email stays empty.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you for your help.

Menu > File > Export > PDF > drag into your Mail message
PC users will not see it as part of their mail though they will see it as an attachment.
You can open the pdf in Preview .app and resave it as a .png or .jpeg file but this will make the text blurry.

  • How to set up multi-page brochure? Please help :(

    Hi All
I'm fairly new to InDesign and am struggling to set up a 6-page brochure - so either a roll fold or z-fold layout with 3 pages each side, similar to this.
I can set up a 6 page A5 document, but, to help me when developing the design, rather than having each page viewed seperately I wanted to have two runs of three pages, where in each run there is no gap visible between the three pages.
I'm sure there's an easy way to do this, but I just can't work it out and Google has been no help either
I'd be really grateful for any advice.
    Many thanks
    Mark

It's staggeringly easy (that is, if you know the trick ). You can drag the individual pages around in the Pages panel and make 'em stick to eachother just by moving one page onto the side of another. This image should have shown the mouse pointer (it changes to a drag hand), but you can see the glue-together marker.
Note: before you do this you must uncheck "Allow Document Pages to shuffle" in the Pages panel menu if it's checked.

  • How to create / design a 2 page brochure (front and back) in photoshop ?

I need to design a 2 page brochure (front and back) in photoshop, how to start ?
I need to create this brochure for high quality printing, so what things I need to make sure ?
Also I need to know how to create it with bleed space or without bleed space ?
    Please help
    Version: Photoshop CS6 Extended

There is no requiremend for bleed size etc (I just wanna know how to create copy with or without bleed at any time and where to mention the size of bleed). The format is PDF, 300dpi.
I would appreciate if you could answer my above question so that I can start and go in a right direction.

  • Trouble uploading my pages brochure to iwork

why can't i upload my pages brochure to iwork. Every time i press share it says, there was a problem uploading your document. what am i doing wrong?

Of course you are using Mac OSX, what else runs Macs?
Menu > Apple > About this Mac will tell you what version of OSX you are running.
OSX is your system, not Pages which is only an application.
You are misquoting the message you got when you tried to share your document.
What you should be doing to share Is:
Menu > Share > Send via Mail > choose Word or PDF for compatibility
That should then appear in an email in Mail ready to send. You can not merely send a .pages document to others and expect them to be able to open it if they do not also have Pages on their computers, and Windows users do not because there is no Pages for Windows.
If you want to keep your own copy of the exported version:
    Menu > File > Export > Word /pdf
That exported version can be manually attached to your email.

  • 6-full-size page brochure - want it to be larger in PDF view

I hope I can explain this correctly. I created a 6-page (8.5 x 11) brochure/report in InDesign using a page size of 25.5 x 11. When I create the PDF, it makes it into two 3-page spreads that are very tiny. When the client goes to print it, the 3 pages all print on one 8.5 x 11 page. How can I make a PDF that shows each page of the 6 pages on a separate page? Is it even possible since I created this like a brochure? Thank you!

    I created a 6-page (8.5 x 11) brochure/report in InDesign using a page size of 25.5 x 11.
In InDesign, what was your document size? 25.5 x 11? (Normally a really bad idea to design "imposed")
When I create the PDF, it makes it into two 3-page spreads that are very tiny.
Well, AA is fitting 25.5 inches onto a monitor...14 inches wide at best.
When the client goes to print it, the 3 pages all print on one 8.5 x 11 page. How can I make a PDF that shows each page of the 6 pages on a separate page?
Does the client have capabilities to print 25.5 x 11? Their local AA may be defaulting to lettersize, which can be changed via "Choose Paper Source by PDF page size" or through the Properties button for their printers features.
Re-read your post, AA is Scaling to fit the Paper, no surprise. They would at least want to tile.
Is it even possible since I created this like a brochure? Thank you!
Redesign that to a 6 page document.
All above  could be subject to CS5's ability to create interactive spreads which you may want to deselect for 6 lettersize pages; I have not loaded CS5 yet.

  • Printer (not computer printer) for 10,000 piece 8 page brochure??

I have created this brochure in Pages. It is 8 pages 8X10 and I need a commercial printer. Having a little problem with my local printer because he has never worked with Pages and I do not see that as a problem for him in that I am sending him a .pdf file.
    Open to all suggestions.

I do not see that as a problem for him in that I am sending him a .pdf file.
Well, use of the Portable Document Format in and of itself does not guarantee that the printing master is properly prepared.
For instance, you can have QuickTime movies and hyperlinks in a Portable Document Format pagination, but you definitely don't want to have that in your printing master.
You can have image resolutions that are too low for the intended printing condition, and you can have colour spaces that are incorrect for the intended printing condition.
"All my images are CMYK" - right, but what CMYK? CMYK is just a data format, to be precise, a four component / four channel data format. You may have all images in CMYK, but one image may have been converted for newsprint with a low paper white and a total ink limit of 240%, another may been converted for inkjet with a high paper white and 220% total ink limit, and yet another may have been converted for offset with a high paper white and 340% total ink limit. Further, the colours formed by the colourants in the CMYK images may be very, very different.
In other words, don't place pre-converted CMYK in your pages. Place original colour correct RGB colourants referenced to the physical or virtual device space in which the RGB capture was corrected (e.g. AdobeRGB, EktaSpaceRGB, PhotoGamutRGB etc.). Since a printing system cannot print three component RGB, it has to convert to four component CMYK.
The ICC printer profile for the intended CMYK four component printing condition defines the laydown order of the inks (which may not be CMYK), the total ink limit, the gray balance, the colour detail in shadows, and the colour detail in highlights. This is a very, very nicely engineered file of only 1.5Mb that does all the difference, if you use it right.
And this is where we come to the PDF/X filter in the ColorSync Utility. PDF/X is short for PDF for blind eXchange, that is, PDF/X is a rendering specification that eliminates what you should not have in your printing master, checks that what you do have in your printing master is reasonable, and saves out your printing master with the ICC printer profile of your choice as OutputIntent.
One thing, check that the PDF/X filter is set to 300 dpi, and check that you pick the right ICC profile for OutputIntent. The filter has no way of knowing what printing condition you intend, so ask your printer, and pick a profile for that printing condition from those available at www.eci.org. The reference measurements are on the home page of the International Color Consortium at www.color.org.
If you can't figure it out, post to the Apple ColorSync Users List. This is properly speaking the core community of the International Color Consortium, since the International Color Consortium was first called the ColorSync Consortium, and since the ICC Specification, now ISO 15076, is the file format of Apple ColorSync 2.0.
    Hope this helps,
    Henrik Holmegaard

  • Pages 2 page brochure order template

I'm trying to create a wedding program and am unable to find a template which allows me to print the pages in order where I to fold the pages into a book to be stapled down the center. Will I have to make a 2 column brochure and type the pages as I need them printed? For instance: the first 2 pages on the Pages program would need to be the first and last page with the front cover and back cover on the opposite sides.
I'm a mac novice so I'd appreciate any advice!

Try Cocoa Booklet. It will take your full-page Pages documents, shrink them & sort them into a PDF booklet. I export mine as PDF first, but I don't think you have to do that with the newer version.

  • Viewing pages brochure

Is there a clever way to view a trifold brochure on the computer as you would in real life? I would like to send out the brochure I have created as an attachment, but the two pages (front and back) can be confusing and not very effective. It would be really cool if you could start with just the front cover and then click through with each click opening a fold (left then right) and the flipping it over.
Maybe I'm better off pasting some of my material in another application like keynote or powerpoint.
The brochure prints beautifully, just trying to email it to some customers...THANKS!

don't seem to reproduce the colors in my images (grays become tan) as well as my inkjet at home
If the users working with a PDF page description configure ICC colour management correctly, that is, if they have correctly characterised ICC profiles for the digital graphic displays, digital graphic printers, and digital graphic presses they are working with, then the intended colours should be communicated correctly. It is not a question of your home inkjet producing a more pleasing print, since if the question were how each and every digital graphic device were to produce the most pleasing rendering, there could be question of getting one digital graphic device to simulate the colours of which another digital graphic device were capable.
In the nineteen-nineties it was amusing to talk to people making and marketing printing products. They had the impressition that the point was to render the most pleasing colour and not that the point was to make possible a colour managed process whereby the desktop display and the deskside printer simulated the production printing system. An inkjet system is capable of forming many, many colours a xeroxraphic or a lithographic system is not capable of forming, at least not in common configurations. The gamut of your inkjet needs to be colourimetrically cut back to the size and shape of the gamut of the printing condition you plan to purchase a run of.

  • Why does my Pages Brochure print all washed out?

When I print my Pages Photo Brochure the colors are all washed out. I edit my photos in Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and they print out with good color and resolution from PE10. Is there a color manager for Pages? I'm exporting my document as a PDF but even if I just drop a photo on a Pages blank page and print, its still washed out. The screen view looks great but print quality is bad. Adobe says its not their problem. I'm most appreciative of any help from the forum. I'm a new MAC user. Thanks in advance :-)Judy

Not sure I understand the question, "what is your screen"?
I have always "saved for the web" since I'm a Real Estate Photographer and MLS Web Viewing is important. I save at 300dpi. It worked ok for print when I was using MS Publisher to create my documents. My print colors were vibrant with good resolution.
When I print aphoto dierectly from PE10, it looks great, but the same Photo printed from Pages is faded and washed out.
In PE10 I have my color profile set to Adobe RGB. In one forum I read that Elements should be set to determine color instead of the Printer. It seems as though the PE10 color profile isn't available to Pages.
Perhaps PE10 doesn't save the color profile in the photograph?
How should the Photoshop Elements Profile be set up to work best with Pages so that my photos will be optimized when I print from Pages?
I continue to use PE10 because I shoot with a wide angle lens and need to be able to correct vertical distortions.
    thanks for your help! Judy

  • Pages Brochure templates

When I print a brochure template from my imac to my HP officejet printer the right margin is cut off. I've had Staples copy center print template and it prints fine.
Can I make any adjustments in the Pages software to correct the problem?

Can I make any adjustments in the Pages software to correct the problem?
Not likely. Most ink jet printers, especially HP, have a large trailing edge margin, usually 0.56". This is the bottom on a portrait-oriented document & the right on an landscape document.
