200 GB ext. FW HD only showing 127 GB
I have a Western Digital 200 GB drive that I've installed in an external enclosure. I plugged in the firewire cable into my new MacBook Pro and the Disk Utility shows the drive as a 186 GB Oxford Semiconductor but shows that only 127 GB is available for use. I know in earlier Macs there was an issue that limited larger hard drives unless a card was installed. Why then, does it still have this limitation when put in an external enclosure? I have a different 160 GB USB 2 ext. drive that has no problems. I performed a Zero Out erasure of the drive with no success. Any ideas?
It sounds like your enclosure has an older Firewire bridge chip in it. Older chips won't allow access to more than 128 Gbytes of disk space. If you buy a recent enclosure, it won't have that problem.

Recently received OWC firewire enclosure OWCMEFW911UPL to put subject HD in. Drive only shows up as 127 GB when mounted. Confused as to whether the mac can handle a 200 GB drive; I've received conflicting information. Any ideas what's going on? OWC claims the enclosure should work with drives up to 750 GB.

The 128 GiB limit is because older enclosures (*) use 28-bit addressing, so they can only address blocks up to 128 GiB. Newer enclosures use 48-bit addressing and can use up to 128 PiB (e.g. lots. :)) Wikipedia link
(*) and older ATA controllers, like those in PowerMac G4 Quicksilver and older. There's software to help in those cases, just like there probably is a firmware update for the enclosure. -
I have over 200 photos on my iPhone photo stream but my iPad 2 only shows 53 of them.
Photo stream photos appear after you enable the feature on your devices so any photos that were already on the phone when you turned on Photo Stream on the iPad, will not appear. Only photos that you take on the phone moving forward will appear on the iPad.

How come I can only get 200 of my 700 songs to show on my display in my new truck?
My operating system has nothing to do with my question but I was asked to enter the info. I have a 4th Gen iPod & do not know why I can only get 200 of my 700+ songs to show on the display in my new truck. All my songs are from purchased CD's or iTunes. The dealer of course has no idea why this is happening. Please help.

It would help to post what you've tried. It does, indeed, appear that -h is the switch, and the man includes several examples, so if you've followed the examples and it's not working then that hints that you should pass it back to Apple.
You also don't say how you're implementing your change. Are you invoking slapd manually, or are you editing /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.openldap.slapd.plist ?
You should be doing the latter, and I'd expect to see something like this:

I have two monitor setup (laptop + main monitor) and I would love to use "Only show tasks from the current desktop" option in KDE Task Manager but for some strange reason it doesn't work for me. Well, it works but only partially - for restored/unmaximized windows. When I maximize one it appears on the Taskbar on both screens. Is this normal? May it be due to the fact that I've placed Taskbar on top of the screens?Did you miss this bit

I have same broken iPod Touch 4G, I'm stuck on the Apple logo and only what I can do is just restart. If I connect iPod turns on but that's all. I checked a lot of tricks how to restart/reboot device and how to get DFU but I have only the logo. iTunes on my mac can't recognize the device.
And in Apple retail store the guy told me: sorry it's dead. We can fix for about £200. After 1 month when my waranty is finished. Funny isn't it? I can't believe that my lovely iPod is dead after 13 months. Where is the "for quality you have to pay." Is it conspiracy if you don't buy extra waranty we will send you killing signal into your iDevice?

Say there's 300 messages in my inbox but when I look at my inbox on my Ipad it will only show 200 of the most recent emails. Is there a way to see all 300?
Not sure whether you are saying that you have more than 200 emails in your Inbox, or that 200 are in the Inbox and the others are in other folders. If the first then (I don't have more than 200 emails in my Inbox) but if you do and want to load more then do you not get a Load More Messages option if you scroll down to the bottom of your Inbox ?
If you want to be able to search multiple email folders then I don't think that you can do it within the Mail app itself, but the spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right) can - you can control what is searched by spotlight via Settings > General > Spotlight Search -

After restoring to factory settings/new iPod you will then have to restore from backup

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

OK, I solved it. Here is the solution if you have precisely the problem I had.
1. On the iOS device: delete the iCloud account.
2. Go to the Apple ID website and make sure the ONLY email there is the me.com email and that it is set as primary. If you Mac.com email is listed as a secondary email THIS will cause the problem. So delete the Mac.com email.
3. Log back in to iCloud on the iOS device.
Only you wanted to use the Mac.com address and not the me.com one, you could follow the above instructions just swapping me and Mac. -
im trying to update to newest ios version. but during the proccess, an unknown error accured, now the device wont do anything, just shows the plug into itunes screen. the device does not show in windows or itunes. the iphone wont do anything. i tried restarting, it shuts off and back on, but only shows plug into itunes thing. any ideas?
From my experience, the only way you're gonna get a PC afflicted with this disease to work with a 5th gen nano is to roll back to an earlier version of iTunes. Those affected have been exhausted by this ongoing issue. To update or not to update? And I always say never update unless you have to, and turn off all that auto update mess!
I have two core2duo lappies running 32b vista. My workflow dictates 32b fyi. One is acer aspire running itunes v 11.1 (.0.126), 5th gen nano was originally formatted and works just fine on this machine to this day. My other is the bigger badder lenovo thinkpad and the 5th gen will NOT mount using any version of itunes past 11.0 (.1.12) Windows mounts it just fine. itunes is not having it. no shirt no shoes no service.
I have both a 4th and 5th gen nano. The 4th gen works great on both machines, I even successfully tested it with the latest version (11.1.5) before subsequent deletion on the thinkpad! Weird huh? I think my next experiment might be to restore my 5th gen w/ a Mac and theeeeen plug it into PC itunez.
I'm at a loss on the thinkpad. Scanned for intruders. Cut the Lenovo bloat. Executed system and reg maintenance. Took down msconfig to a safe mode + itunes level to attempt to resolve possible sw conflicts but to no avail. NO NO NO. Every single dang port, every time on the thinkpad. Has me feeling like others might get the same treatment by the next itunes update. :|
So in summary for me:
5th gen nano and thinkpad are a NoGo on 11.1^ last working version for me = 11.0.1
5th gen nano is working on an acer aspire 11.1.0 but no way in the world am I updating
4th gen nano is kicking 5th gen nano's @zz so what would make me want to buy a new ipod? -

SCCM 2012 R2 Client only showing 2 items under Actions
I've enable AD Forest Discovery on Primary Site also checked Automatically create AD site boundaries when they are discovered and Automatically create IP address range boundaries for IP subnets when they are discovered.
I didn't change this (default) Disable AD Forest Discovery on CAS.
I am still running SCCM 2007 R3 SP2 in Production environment. Do I need to remove all the boundaries first on SCCM 2007? Before I could install SCCM 2012 R2 client?

Two nights ago, I manually deploy SCCM 2012 R2 client (right click to deploy SCCM Client) to my test Win7x64 Enterprise and Win8.1x64 Enterprise. Until this morning Actions are not fully there (it should be total 11)
SCCM 2012 R2 client (version 5.00.7958.1000) installed but SCEP 2012 is not install (I think there's a problem here) since I checked the Actions button on both of Win7x64 Enterprise and Win8.1x64 Enterprise are only showing 2 Actions:
1. Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle
2. User Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle
I've checked on both of Win7x64 Enterprise and Win8.1x64 Enterprise logs (using CMTrace):
1. CcmExec.log -> no errors
2. LocationServices.log -> Current AD site of machine is Default-First-Site-Name
3. ClientLocation.log -> It knows my new MP (correct one)
4. ClientIDManagerStartup.log -> with errors below

What I did wrong I deploy SCCM 2012 Client Custom Settings to a collection that I created and also Antimalware Policies to that collection as well where that collection has 0 (none members).
So I deleted and just simply pointed both SCCM 2012 Client Custom Settings and Antimalware Policies to All Systems and all my test computers (workstations & servers) have SCCM 2012 R2 client along with SCEP 2012.
I have more questions below:
What's the best way for me to approach this SCCM 2012 R2 Client push to a test computers (workstations and servers).
I have SCCM 2007 R3 SP2 is still running in Production, currently Boundaries set as IP subnet (not using AD Site, it used but I changed it 2 years ago).
Now, SCCM 2012 R2 Primary Site set Enable AD Forest Discovery with Automatically create AD & Automatically create IP address range boundaries for IP subnets.
Of course, by turning this option above, it will pick up lots of different IP subnets. Even the one our sister company (lots of different domain).
1. In SCCM 2012 R2 Boundary Groups, I set Default-First-Site-Name (AD Site), under Site Systems tab, I have also my Primary Site SCCM 2012 R2 here.
Here's the questions:
1. Do I need to add IP subnet in SCCM 2012 R2 Boundary Groups? Do I need to add let's say 10.xxx.20.xxx (IP subnet here).
2. Also, do I need to delete IP subnet in SCCM 2007 Boundaries that correspond to that IP subnet? Let's say I have 10.xxx.20.xxx (IP subnet here) and remove this one since I have added on number 1?
