(2006) Now wont start up

Hello,
We've been traveling (and still are) so I have to shut off my computer to take it with us, to start it up at our next destination to get work done.
I have a Mac Mini that has always worked great.
I haven't loaded anything new or changed any settings. I'm a graphic designer, and it's my work computer, so I don't play games or let other people load / download games onto it (if that matters here)
Within the past year, every once in a long while, I thought it was restarting while I was away from it, but just blew it off that I was seeing things.
...With-in the last few weeks, it was getting difficult for it to start up...I would have to wait for it to come all the way up, or after waiting for quite awhile for it to finish starting, I'd have to unplug it, to push the start button again. ...sometimes it would take several times to finally get up and running.
...the last week, it started re-starting all by itself while I was in the middle of things. ...besides not wanting to start-up, sometimes, when it was up and running, it would only run for a couple minutes, then restart itself, sometimes several times in a row.
So, expecting to have trouble getting it to start, I would just sit on the floor and wait to have to work with it, but now, I push to ON button, and the light comes on, but then nothing else happens. ...so I unplug the power from the wall, and when I plug it back in, before I can push the on button, the ON light is already back on.
I read through other peoples questions and found some that were similar, and tried the hold the ON button for the count of 5, then plug it back in and hit the ON button...nothing happened.
Then I tried the unplug it, and hold the ON button while I plugged it back in...that got the fan to go extra fast. ..I tried it several times more, and it would very from having the light be stuck on, to getting the fan to run fast...but it still wont start up...it now just sits there with the little light on, while I sit and look at it
Any wisdom to get moving again would be appreciated

Do you have anything on your display? Or does the monitor act like the machine isn't powered up? Can you get it to respond to the keyboard in some way? Can you boot it in to target disk mode? (Power off, then hold the T key down and power the machine up. You should see the target disk mode icon appear and bounce around the screen...) If you have a firewire and another mac, can you see it on the other mac when you boot it in to target disk mode? Can you put the install disk in and boot off of it by holding down the C key while powering up? Can you get the CD out by hitting the eject key on the keyboard?

When you formatted the drive, before installing OSX, did you click Options on the Partition and select Mac GUID Bootable ?
Just because it mounts as an external does not mean it's a bootable Volume ...

Upgraded to Firefox 8.0 crashed and now wont start up.

Upgraded Firefox to 8.0 last night and it crashed as soon as it finished and I went to open it. I had no problem with it before this update. Tried taking my computer back in time didn't work also tried uninstalling and reinstalling accept it wont reinstall now. Go to hit run and get nothing to pop up after that. I loved firefox I hate Internet explorer someone help me fix this so I can use FF again. It seems this is a big problem with 8.0 so there has to be a fix.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

HP ENVY 15 thermal shutdown and now wont start up

So i was playing some borderlands and all of a sudden, my screen goes black and my computer shutdown. I managed to restart it the first time with no problems. But after about 1 hour, the same thing happens again when i was playing. However this time i am unable to start up my laptop. I keep getting stuck at the "Starting Windows" screen with the windows logo. I've tried leaving it there for a while already and nothing seems to happen at all.
I ran the harddisk test and it passed. I am also able to boot into safe mode.
I really need help ASAP to get my computer back up again.

Sadly there doesn't seem to be an HP Service Center in my country (Sri Lanka). So now I'm really confused as to what my retailer's technicians meant by "we'll send it to the local HP Support Center and have your display panel replaced".
Whatever they did, the display panel has been replaced and I've been using it for less than a week so far with no issues. The touchpad hasn't really been heating up and has in fact been as warm as the rest of the notebook. Perhaps it's because I have now turned on the option of disabling the touchpad whenever an external cursor device is attached (since I primarily always use a mouse).
Needless to say, since we both have no clue as to how the touchpad overheated and damaged the screen (in the exact position and measurement as the touchpad) I feel like it's just a matter of time before it happens again.
Obviously I understand that there's little you can do on your side other than direct me to an HP Support Center. However I hope my worries are justified as I feel that as a consumer I shouldn't have to worry about my brand new product malfunctioning by no fault of my own.

My battery wouldnt charge and died now wont start up!?

Last night i had 4% of battery so i plugged my charger in, and it said not charging i just continued dooing whatever on my laptop, then i had to leave sp i brought my laptop, in that time it died. Now it will not start up and there is no green led on my charger. What can i do to fix this and what caused it?!

Have you tried the troubleshooting steps listed in Intel-Based Apple Portables: Troubleshooting a computer that will not power on? If you do, make sure to fallow the link to the troubleshooting Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters. Also do you have a 2nd power adapter to test with?

Almost 3 month old Iphone 4 extremely hot in corner and now wont start

i am currently living in toulouse france as an exchange student, i come from new zealand, which is where my iphone 4 was brought, almost almost 3 months ago. last month for 1 week my phone would become very hot in the corner by the on/off button, so hot i couldnt touch it. the power also drained very fast. the internet connection had no effect as i had no wifi connection with the house i was living in. it ended up that it would go from 100% to 0% in about 2 hours or less, and then wouldnt turn on unless plugged in, but it would always be too hot to use. its been a month since that happened, but its happened again, lasting for the past week and a half. the other day it became the hotest it has ever been, and the power drained extremely fast whilst plugged in, and now it wont turn on

I paid 850€ for iPhone 5 and what I have is a phone that slipped from my pocket hit the ground on the right angle because its made of nothing I gave it to apple to get it fixed no warranty obviously and without knowing what it will cost they took 240€ in advance from my credit card saying it will be recredited if the cost is lower. Realistically these are not good signals the company is giving and they could at least help us and Apple YOU ARE NOBODY WITHOUT US.......

IMac was freezing and now wont start?

My iMac was running a little slow the past 2 days, and whenever i tried to type something in safari it would bring up the loading wheel and take forever just to type something. I installed google chrome and it kept happening so it's not safari. Next my mac started freezing and i would have to just turn it off and restart it. Turning it back on it would load sometimes but take awhile, sometimes it wouldnt load so i'd turn it off and try again until it worked.
now when i turn it on the gray/white screen comes up with the apple, but no loading thing comes up under that. after a few minutes the apple gets replaced with a circle with a line through it. After about 5 minutes of not starting, a blinking folder with a question mark starts flashing and it does this until i turn off the computer.
soooo, what is wrong? how do i fix this? is there another way to start the computer?

i put in my snow leopard install disk and then restarted using my internal hard drive and it worked fine for a few hours. Then it crashed again and now it's doing it again and cant find my internal hard drive. I have most my stuff stored on an external hard drive but does this mean i have to buy a new computer? or a new internal hard drive? how much would that be and for them to install it? stupid macs, i thought they were supposed to work better than PC's. Or is your hypothesis wrong since it did start up after you said it was dead.
It does sound like your hard drive is failing and needs to be replaced. Mac hard drives are the same products as they are in PCs and they ALL fail, on average a HD should last 3-5 years however some last months and some last 6-8 years. So there isn't any reason to be angry at Apple. Make sure you are backed up and make an appointment at your local Apple Store or AASP. A replacement hard drive will probably run in the $200-$300 range including labor.

My G700 randomly shut down and now wont start up.

So I was playing DayZ and the performance was awful,usually quite fine and then suddenly it just died,without warning everything went black. I tried starting it up and the screen turned on with the Lenovo logo and then died, and has done ever since.
I really don't know what to do...

I’m sorry to hear that your G700 Laptop is not booting to Windows and is not turning ON now. I suggest you to perform the Flee-Power and BIOS reset. Below are the steps to check and resolve the issue:
Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer.
Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer.
If the issue persists even after performing Flee Power then resetting BIOS to its defaults should resolve the issue
Now access the BIOS menu press NOVO Button located beside the power button when the Lenovo logo appears on the screen while the computer is starting up.
Then to reset the BIOS to its defaults click on “F9” Key and select YES.
Now click on “F10” Key to save the changes that are done in BIOS, restart the computer and check if the issue is resolved.

Charged phone but but now wont start up

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

Dropped laptop now wont start

dropped laptop from a table and was dented alittle on the bottom left by the battery gauge. i press the start up button, and i get the apple loading screen, but never get to log on screen...help

Early 2006 IMAC wont start up

So here is my problem.
20" imac was working fine today- we were listening to music on itunes and came back to change the song and the computer would not respond. Tried command-option-esc and the like- nothing worked.
So I turned it off and unplugged it, let it rest for a minute to reset RAM, restarted it.
It gets as far as the grey startup screen with the wheel turning and stalls out there.
I have tried safe booting with shift key-- didn't work.
Starting up pressing D and running the hardware test- everything is fine.
Command Option P-R then restart- nothing.
So I started up from the DVD and ran disk utility to try and verify and repair volume. It immediately said "Invalid Volume header", thought a few seconds then said "Invalid node structure" and an error message pops up saying repair was unsuccessful.
Is there anything else I can do besides take it to an Apple Store?
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Sounds like you've tried just about everything. Strange that it passed the hardware test and then gave you a message saying that the repair of the disk was unsuccessful.... Did you recently install some new software or memory on your Mac? You might try and do a complete system reinstall. If that doesn't help then take it back to apple.

Safari 4.1 started crashing and now wont load at all...

Hi ..please help! Safari started crashing last night ('The Application quit unexpectedly....') and now wont start up again after a variety of attempts; just keep getting that message repeatedly. I have:
- repaired permissions and restarted
- deleted icon from dock then deleted app from folder then re installed Safari 4.1 for Tiger
- moved safari plist from Preferences to desktop
- emptied Safari cache folder
But it just keeps on trying to start up and giving me the crash window.

What this means is - Safari tries to load another piece of software, and can't - either because it's missing or damaged somehow.
you didn't attempt to remove anything manually whilst trying to get Safari re-loaded... ?
If not, I do suggest you use Disk Utility while booted from your install disk to Verify the HD, and then startup normally & repair disk permissions from Disk Utility found in Applications/Utilities/
If that all seems fine, obviously you need to get that file replaced, and hope that it's the only one missing/mangled ( often does seem to be the case )
Either archive/install Tiger, followed by all necessary software updates
or
Hope that it's part of the 10.4.11 combo - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL170 assuming that the file doesn't stop Installer from running.
or
bring /System/Library/Frameworks/Security.framework over from another mac running the same OS version, place it exactly where it should be, and hope that it's the only thing missing/mangled ( often does seem to be the case )
I don't know if it's part of the 10.4.11 combo, haven't a copy to hand. Also, there might have been other reasons, (and a whole different report), why Safari first started crashing. So you may find the archive/install less trouble overall.

My mac wont start up. please help

hi, i wanted to reinstall osx panter as my computer was running really slow. I put the disc in ad my mac restarted. It now wont start upat all. i've tried holding down shfit and c abd still nothing happns.I can not get the disc out as i have a mac mini and the eject button on the key board isnt working. Do you know what ii can do? When I press the power butten the apple logo comes up as normal but then nothing happens

To eject the CD, depress the mouse button at startup.
To boot from a CD, you depress/hold the "c" key at startup.
