2007 MacBook need battery replaced

I have a 2007 MacBook and I am in need of a new battery. Where can I go to get this taken care of?

You can order a new battery from Apple's online store and install it yourself.
This is the battery for the white MB: Rechargeable Battery - 13-inch MacBook (White).

You can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay. Every MacBook from 2006 through Mid 2009 except the Late 2008 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 and 2010 White Unibodies use the same A1185 battery.

My late 2007 white macbook has a hugely bulging battery. Health is 100% after 163 cycles, but is this safe? Do you think I can find a replacement?

  • Wide price variation in macbook pro battery replacement

    Hello,
My macbook pro's battery ( bought in mid 2010) performance has declined significantly and currently provides back up for just 1.5 hrs. I am planning to replace the battery and hence contacted several apple authorized service providers.
However, my dilemma is that the price quoted by various service providers varies significantly from INR 7,500 to INR 16,000 (USD 125 to USD 266).
How do I find out what is the correct price of the battery and if the battery provided is a genuine one?
Wide variation in price is creating dilemma in my mind as to whether I am getting a genuine product or a knock-off.
    Request help on this matter.
    Thanks.

  • Water spilled on MacBook, need to replace Logic Board--worth it to send it in for total repair (where it will be like "factory new")?

Thursday--I spilled water on the keyboard of my MacBook Pro 15", and it immediately turned off. I unplugged it from the charger and turned it upside down, and then began to dry it off the best i could with a towel while letting it drain. Then I took it straight to the Apple store on my campus, where a technician removed the back, took each part out separately, and then dried it/the parts out the best he could. He advised me to wait a day or two and then try to turn it on.
Saturday--I used a hair dryer on low heat to help dry it out the best I could, and then I tried to turn my computer on. It wouldn't work, but when I plugged it into the charger it did turn on. The screen looked a little waterlogged and was flickering slightly. I took it back to the store and they said that their technician would look at it.
Wednesday--I went back to check on the status of my MacBook, and the guy presented me with two options:
I can replace the Logic Board for approx. $500-600 and be done with it (and eventually the moisture in the screen, which is clear as ever now, will dry up?)
    or
I can send my entire MacBook back to the factory for replacement/repair of anything that might need fixing for around $1300-1400.
I am currently on my MacBook now, and it seems to be working just fine (although it has to stay plugged into a power source because the battery won't charge)...
Money isn't an issue here, yet (it was bought with an AmEx and is covered with that warranty up to a certain dollar amount), but my question is this: Is it necessary for me to replace my Logic Board, if my computer still seems to be working--or will I end up seeing issues down the road if I don't and Should I go ahead and send it in for a full factory repair?? Is it really worth it??
    Thank you!

It would be best to send your MacBook in for a complete overhauled, this will save you time and trouble in the near future.  I am sure you have some items internally that will continue to corrode and render your MacBook inoperable some day soon.

  • HT201412 my iPhone 4s doesn't charge.  tried multiple cables.  went to Apple (had genius appointment) store thinking that I may need battery replaced.  Met with an abrupt assistance.  She looked at receptacle where cable plugs in, declared it corroded

My iPhone 4S doesn't charge.  I tried multiple connectors.  I'm thinking my battery needs replacing.  I had an appt today at the Genius bar.  The Apple associate was a bit abrupt.  She looked at the receptacle where the connector goes.  Declared it corroded and offered to sell me a new phone.  I said it doesn't look that bad and I believe it may be the battery and asked if there is way to test if it was my battery.  She said "no", according to what I'm seeing the receptacle is damaged due to the corrosion I'm seeing.
I didn't have the time nor the patience to deal with her and left in disgust
I'm thinking about going to another Apple store to have it checked out.
    Any thoughts on this matter?

You can go anywhere you want.  The notes about your previous visit and diagnosis will remain in Apple's records.  Notes are attached to the serial number on the iPhone that was inspected.

  • Best Macbook Pro battery replacement?

My 2.5 year old Macbook Pro's batter is winding down(cycles=446, mAh=1406, etc.). It doesn't hold a charge nearly as well as it used to(neither do I, but that's another story).
What's the best possible type of battery I can get?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

a brody: I am on my 2nd "Apple" battery for what is probably the same MacBookPro as swami [MacBookPro Mid 2008, right before the new ones with the black keys], and it is definitely not, "FAIRLY GOOD". It *****. They both expanded and became useless about 1 year after purchasing (which I am sure was used to dictate the warrenty length '1-year'). Now I have to plug in everywhere again until I get a new one. What I would like to know, as swami should as well, is what other brands offer good alternatives? Let's face it, Apple's batteries for the older MacBookPro's are crap. Who else has had any luck with others? I am definitely NOT buying one from Apple this time, suggestions are needed!

  • Macbook Pro Battery "replace now" after installing Lion

I'm 101% sure that this is not the first thread concerning battery problems with the "advcanced" system.
    Here's my problem,
After I installed Lion, the battery won't charge. and now i'm livining on power-cord.
    Hardware Overview:
      Model Name:    MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:    MacBookPro6,2
      Processor Name:    Intel Core i7
      Processor Speed:    2.66 GHz
    Charge Information:
      Charge Remaining (mAh):    0
      Fully Charged:    No
      Charging:    No
      Full Charge Capacity (mAh):    0
      Health Information:
Cycle Count:    49   <---- LOL??? only 49 cycles.
      Condition:    Replace Now
      Battery Installed:    Yes
      Amperage (mA):    0
      Voltage (mV):    10070
If anyone out there has found a resolution, please comment on. -.-||

Talk to Apple by calling the appropriate support number on this page. Either the battery is failing for some other reason that simple wear and tear, or the Lion OS is incorrectly reporting it as in poor condition.
    Best of luck.

  • 2007 Macbook Black Battery wont recharge?

I have had to buy 5 new batteries for this macbook.  If the battery is drained of power and not recharged within three days it dies, and can not be recharged.  Does anyone know of any fixes? Better batteries? Apple refunds? Is Apple aware of this horrible product?

If the battery is drained of power and not recharged within three days it dies, and can not be recharged.
    Normal for all Lithium-Poly batteries.

  • I have a macbook air from mid 2012. After installing the MacBook Air Flash Storage Firmware Update 1.1 my computer shuts down instead of restarting. Does my macbook need a replacement drive?

Anyone experience the same result after installing MacBook Air Flash Storage Firmware Update 1.1? Why did my macbook shut down?

    Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, contact Apple.
    Best.

  • Retina macbook pro battery replacement

$437 to replace the battery with 247 cycles??? Post Yosemite upgrade that is.
Funny thing is if I put the old hard drive in it with mavericks on it, the system charges just fine!!!!!
    WTH????
Yosemite = Replace Battery, Mavericks = AOK??????????????????????????
    mmmmmmmmmmm

Check the Yosemite site and around here. There's been a lot of weirdness with Yosemite.
With something really new like that I'd do exactly what you've done, put in a work HD and test drive the new OS before committing completely.

  • My MacBook Pro Core Duo from 2006 shuts down randomly requiring frequent reboots to the point I had to abandon doing any project or anything on this MacBook Pro. Same thing occurs with the iMac dual core from 2007. MacBook battery replaced.

My MacBook Pro Core Duo from 2006 shuts down randomly requiring frequent reboots to the point I had to abandon doing any project or anything on this MacBook Pro. Same thing occurs with the iMac dual core from 2007. MacBook battery replaced. Is it internal battery for both, new logic board required, bad hard drive, or bad RAM?
    Help.

Run an Apple Hardware Test using the original installation disk that has the AHT instructions on it.
    Try SMC and PRAM resets:

It is possible that you may need a new PRAM battery.

  • I have my macbook pro for a while now and all of sudden it just started shutting down randomly when my battery had enough life in it and only works and comes back on when I put it on the charger. Do I need to replace my battery?

    I have a MacBook Pro
Keeps completely shutting down all the time when its fully charged and at random times when it is at 65% for example
Do I need to get a battery replacement? Or do I have a virus?
    PLEASE HELP

Sudden power-down is most often caused by overheating. The fans in a Mac are controlled by software that measures temperatures at several points inside the computer, and increases the fan speeds when temperatures are rising. You should get it checked to be sure the fans  are working as expected. Your appointment for an evaluation at the genius Bar at an Apple Store is free, in warranty or out.
Battery shortage will generally cause your MacBook to warn you, then go to sleep.
Your symptoms do not correspond with any know Viruses.
