2009 Macbook has air bubbles on the bottom?

I purchased my Macbook in 2009 and have recently noticed air bubbles on the base. I assume they are caused by heat, but am unsure about what could cause this level of damage. How can I have this repaired, and what is the potential cost? Is there a way to prevent it from happening again?
Has anyone else had this problem?
I have pictures of the problem here:

  • Air bubbles on the bottom of my Macbook?

There are a few small air bubbles on the bottom of my Macbook. I think they may be heat related, but I haven't left the computer in any highly heated environments. Is it possible that heat generated by the computer itself may have caused this?
Also, could these bubbles pose more than a cosmetic problem, in the future? Does anyone have experience with this problem?

    Hi
Could you give us more details please; maybe put a photo somewhere on the net so we can see the problem.
    Thanks

  • New MBP Retina has air intake on the bottom sides. Won't this allow more dust to accumulate inside?

I have an older MacBook Pro now and it seems to suck air from the top below the screen and out the sides. With the new MBP if I have my computer on a desk etc it will collect from the bottom on both sides. Thus collecting more dust and blowing it out towards the screen. This would cause more dust build up on the compents inside the computer and on the screen.

    Hi i,
You can vacuum those areas, and try to keep the surroundings clean, but beyond that, it is what it is. I've always vacuumed the keyboard and all openings (with the Mac turned off, of course) and never had any problem with dust inside.

  • I have a mid 2009 Macbook Pro and i know the Mini-display port does not support audio out but does it support HDMI out? or do i have to buy a Mini-display to DVI and then a DVI to HDMI adapters?

Run MDP to HDMI for picture. Use a cable like this to run sound from your audio out on your Mac to your TV's audio in.  That's about all  you can do.

Yes, but the part cut off the bottom of the first page should appear at the top of the second. No content should be lost, just split between pages.
Safari makes little or no attempt to keep a line of print or a picture from splitting across pages, seemingly just imaging the web page as one large image and printing so many inches or millimeters of the image per page.

  • The horizontal line has been appiered at the bottom of the touch screen. In addition to that problem the screen starts blinking after 3-5 minutes of use. I bought it 4 months ago.

Please help me to resolve a problem with my iPod touch. It has horizontal line at the bottom of the screen and screen starts blinking after 3 minutes of use. It's so frustrating as I bought just 4 months ago and didn't even think tha apple products have such defects.

All electical producs have defects.  Apple products are not immune.
To rule out a software problem try:
    - A reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
    - If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.  If the iPod is defective you will walk out with a replacment.

  • Macbook becomes very hot on the bottom

I have a MacBook 13" 2.4ghz Core  2 Duo 2GB SDRAM, running Mac OS X (10.5.5) when first turned on the temparature according to Istat just after startup the CPU temp is 38 degrees c rising to 46 degrees after 10mins then after about 45 mins being on and surfing the net nothing demanding the temp is up to 88 degrees and very hot on the bottom.
I am concerned there is something wrong is this normal?
Has anyone else experienced a hot macbook?
    Thank you.

Are these Celsius temperatures? If so, then do this:
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu.  Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order.  If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time, then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar.  Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
What applications do you have running normally?

  • My iphone has an issue at the bottom where the charger fits in and is unabvle to charge my iphone.  what may be causing this issue?

My iphone 5c is unable to charge due to problems with the bottom where i insert the charger in order to charge the battery.  what maybe the reason that my iphone will not charge unless it is placed at pacific angles and will only charge on certain days and at certain times of the day ?

check the lightning socket doesn't have any debris or fluff partially blocking contact
use air duster to blow out or very carefully, or a tooth pick ,best to use air to prevent any possible damage
if clear take it to an Apple store genius bar

  • How do you remove air bubbles inside the screen?

A little bubble appeared on my screen, whats the reason this happend? how to remove this then?

Have you ever had a rock hit the windshield of your car and leave a little nick in it (not a crack, just a little divot where a tiny piece of the glass has chipped away? That's what I mean by a chip. A nick. A piece of the glass that has been broken from the surface of the display.
As has already been stated, if it was a manufacturing defect, it would have been there since day 1. Since you said it appeared later, that means the glass came in contact with something hard enough to take a piece out of it.

  • I have a late 2009 MacBook Pro 13.3". The unit keeps restarting w/o finishing boot up.

After Firefox updated it suggested a new version of Flashplayer should be installed. During this operation a dialog box asked for thepassword. As this is primarily my wife’s computer I did not have it, so Idecided to wait for her to arrive. I left the computer waiting for the passwordand closed the lid. When my wife got home I opened the computer expecting herto continue the installation.  Idiscovered the unit had apparently shut down, and tried to turn it backon.  I got a gray screen with an Applelogo and spinning wheel, after about one minute the computer shut down againwithout completing boot.  After a fewattempts to reboot without success, I discovered it would complete the startupif I kept my finger moving on the touchpad. After a few minutes a dialog box popped up asking if I wanted to shutdown.  I answered ‘cancel’ and after afew seconds the box popped up again. After a few iterations of this the computer shut down again.  I have tried several suggested fixes for thisbehavior from this forum and none have kept this from happening.  The behavior has however changed and the computerhas gone through several modes of malfunction. From continually trying to restart, to appearing completely dead.  At this point the computer tries to restartover and over when not on th e charger. If plugged in I can boot to the desktop as long as I keep activity on the touchpad. Within a few seconds of no activity, the dialog box appears asking torestart, sleep, cancel, or shut down. I can shut down without trying to restartas long as it is plugged in. But as soon as I remove the magsafe connector itstarts a cycle of continuous restarts even with the lid closed.  Any suggestions?

It's probably a hardware fault, but to be thorough, you should boot from your installation DVD and run "Repair Disk" (not "Repair Permissions"). If any problems are found with the directory of the boot volume, after repairing it run the Installer to reinstall the OS. Then reboot if possible, run Software Update, and test.
Needless to say, you must back up all data before you do any of this, which you can do while booted from the installation disc. If you do have a hardware fault, none of it will help.

  • My ipod nano has horizaontal lines through the bottom portion of the screen and the left half of the screen is black, the right half of the screen changes from red, to blue to orange, etc.  Any idea how to fix that?

White stripes suddenlt appeared at the bottom of the screen on my ipod nano a few weeks ago.  I figured it was just from use and that it is an older model- I could still see through them and use the device.  Yesterday, only the left half of the screen was visible, the other side was black.  This morning, the stripes are still there, all the way across the screen on the bottom, the left side os black and the right sise is red most of the time.  Any ideas on what happened and how to fix it?

    Hello scgreco,
I would be concerned as well if my iPod nano screen had stripes and was partially black.  I found a resource that I think would help in a situation like this.
I recommend following the steps in this troubleshooting assistant for your iPod nano model:
