2010 to 2013 PF migration - mailenabled folders not working

After migrating public folders from 2010 to 2013 it is not possible to send mail to mailenabled folders. Mails are stuck in the queue until timing out.
Problem seems to be that LegacyExchangeDN is not updated during migration, it still points at the old location. Only cure I have found so far is mail disable and enable each folder to update LegacyExchangeDN, but I am looking for an easier solution.
LegacyExchangeDN before mail disable/enable:
/O=CMPANY NAME/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE
GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=FOLDER NAME....
LegacyExchangeDN after mail disable/enable:

Its a known issue.
I don't think there is anyother solution.
Hope you are aware that you can disable bulk and enable them back.

That the Migration Assistant doesn't work is a KNOWN ISSUE. Last week I got a new iMac and the old and new couldn't find one another. I called tech support 3 times and spent I don't know how long on the phone. They finally suggested I take them both to an Apple store, which I did today. The Genius knew all about it - said it's a known issue. To "resolve" it he started the old iMac in "disk mode" and then the new one could see it, but that wasn't an adequate fix: After spending over an hour moving the files, they wouldn't have been in their proper folders. I would have had to manually file 6 years worth of pics and files! NFW - I returned the new computer and will make do with my old one until Apple gets this right.

Questions on Lync 2010 to 2013 Addressbook Migration

We are in the process of migrating the users from Lync 2010 to Lync 2013 pilot pool.

According to the above article, basically the Lync Server 2010 Address Book is migrated along with the rest of your topology and don’t have to worry about the post migration steps if we don’t have customized settings such as GAL partition (By setting
up an attribute ‘msRTCSIP-GroupingID’), customized AB normalization rules and customized phone normalization rules.
Questions:
1. How do we confirm that there is no customized settings of phone normalization, AB normalization and GAL partition in the existing Lync 2010 environment?
2. Is there any powershell command to validate the current Lync 2010 settings?

The grouping ID is not something you'd normally put in. If all users can search for and see all other users, you'd be fine.
For the AB normalization look for Company_Phone_Number_Normalization_Rules.txt in your Lync file share in
X-WebServices-X\ABFiles (replace the X with whatever you see). If you have one, you could copy it over to your new Lync 2013 file share. This file is for normalizing phone numbers found in AD. To validate current settings, you can run
the BPA http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=4750 but if you're moving away from it, I wouldn't kill myself resolving issues. From PowerShell, there
are many things you could validate, is there something specific you're worried about?

Exchange 2010 to 2013 users migration

I am migrating users from Exchange 2010 to 2013 and facing a lot of migration issues. few of them are as follow.
1. It hung up at "syncing" and end up with a failure.
2. After a long migration i got the following errors

3. users migration is taking a lot of time although mailbox size is not big and both servers are in same datacenter.

Here are the general steps for troubleshooting mailbox moves:
1. If the move request didn't complete, view the Move Request Statistics.
2. If the move request completed with errors, view the move report.
3. View the Event log on the Client Access server running the instance of the Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service that's processing the failed move request.
4. use the Exchange Management Console or the Exchange Management Shell to increase the diagnostic logging levels on the Client Access server for the Mailbox Move and Service categories of the MSExchange Mailbox Replication service.

Exchange 2010 to 2013 Activesync migration

Hey guys got a question, if i'm doing a migration from 2010 to 2013 and i have activesync policies on 2010, will a migrated user still adhere to these policies or do should i create the polcies on 2013 as well before migrated users?
also i've noticed some users arent getting the policies i created, they all have the same phone, brand new from the company, but some mobiles are getting the policy and some others are getting email but the policies just isnt being applied to the phone, is
this a flaw of activesync?

I'm not really sure about your second question. Hopefully someone else can help on that one.
The only things I can think of would be to make sure that ActiveSync is enabled for those users, and that the policy is applied to their mailbox.

Lync 2010/2013 simultaneous ring\call forwarding not working

I have Lync server 2010 and 2013 environment .I'm facing some issues with simultaneous ring\call forwarding when the call initiator is from outside of my organization.
For lync server 2013 ,i tick the option "Enable forward call history ".
For Lync server 2010 , i enabled the ReferredBySupported.
but when i checked the log, "history-info " still missing
Lync servers are updated with latest CU. the Gateway is SBC 2000 with sip trunk.
please advise

Please check if the correct voice policy and pstn usages are assigned to users. you can test if everything is in order using voice test case.
On client collect the tracing logs and see which voice policy user is getting what message the user get when call forwarding / simultanous ring is being tried

Issue with Update Rollup 5 for Exchange 2010 SP3 - Mailboxes that were auto mapped not working

Below is my response in another thread but creating a new one in the hopes that someone has the same issue and a solution besides mine below.
Ever since we installed Update Rollup 5 for SP3 Exchange 2010 mailboxes that were auto mapped are not accessible. They all get the same error.
Cannot expand the folder. The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange has failed.
What I have been doing is removing the users permission, then adding them back using the noautomap switch in Powershell. After doing that, the user manually adds the mailbox and all is well.
Just a note here, I suspect it may have something to do with the version of Outlook 2010. We are running an older version here. I think only SP1 with no other incremental updates. Office is up to SP2. Also, one of the users I was working with could not access
the mailbox no matter what we tried but she can walk over to another workstation and open Outlook and access the very same mailbox so that pretty much proves its software related particularly with Outlook.
I cannot reproduce the problem on a workstation (XP) with a newer version of Outlook.
This has been wearing me out and I suspected the Update Rollup all long. Now I am confident as others are having the same problem. If you find out anything on how to fix this other than the steps above, let me know.

Not sure why it was suggested to use the auto mapping feature to grant permissions because that is the component that is causing the issue. Also, there is nothing wrong with the auto configuration because the user can access their own mailbox just fine and
also select mailboxes in their Outlook that were NOT auto mapped.
With that said, here is how I fixed them all.
Remove the permissions using the Exchange Console. Don't forget Send As
Wait about 15 minutes. The mailbox should disappear from the users Outlook
Open an Exchange PowerShell window and run the following command:
.\add-mailboxpermissionsnoautomap.ps1 -Identity mailbox -User user -AccessRights FullAccess
Have the user add the mailbox to their Outlook using the manual process.
All is well....
If you don't have the PS script add-mailboxpermissionsnoautomap.ps1, you can download it. I stumbled across it a few years ago and use it all the time. If you can't find it, just use the Exchange built in command for adding mailbox folder permissions but
specify automap $false.
The idea here is to grant the user access without auto mapping.

OneNote 2013 - Locking Section keyboard shortcut not working

I have OneNote 2013 full PC version. I have a notebook stored somewhere in live.net that has a password protected section.
After I unlock the section when I want to lock it using the Keyboard Shortcut (CTRL+ALT+L) it does not work. I have tried every combination of alt and ctrl keys and even trying to shift the L sometimes.
The only thing that immediately locks the section is to open the Password Protection sidebar and clicking the button for "Lock All".
How can I get this keyboard functionality to work correctly?
I saw one or two posts about this in the Office 2010 forum, but never any answers.
Please recommend next step?

I tried what you described here and I was able to lock the section by using the Keyboard Shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+L). So you might have to try something first to see if this is a single issue or a OneNote issue.
Add a new section to a notebook for testing. Now add a password to that section. After confirmation that the password has been set try the Keyboard Shortcut after that. If that doesn't work you know the issue is a OneNote issue instead of a notebook issue.
That's important to know.
You don't have to click the password section to get it locked, you can also navigate to another section to lock the section that has been password protected. You can view these settings in File-Options-Advanced. My guess is that you already know that.
A last test you can try is resetting the ribbon. This will reset the ribbon to it's original layout. I don't know if you have made any customizations but if you did you will lose those so be careful! You can reset the ribbon by going to File - Options -
Customize Ribbon. On the right side of that dialog you will see a small button 'Reset'. Click that and try to use the Keyboard Shortcut again. Worth a shot.

VirtualBox Shared Folders not working after upgrade

I'm running Arch Linux as a guest OS in VirtualBox. After yesterday's upgrades of linux to 3.11.1-1 and virtualbox-guest-modules to 4.2.18-3, the shared folder functionality seems to be seriously borked.
The vboxsf module itself loads fine, and produces no kernel messages except the standard hello :

Mounting a shared directory with mount.vboxsf and mount -t vboxsf results in a success. However, accessing the mount ends in the CPU usage spiking to 100% and nothing happening. Furthermore, the following line appears in /etc/mtab :

Removing and adding the shared folder from the machine settings, sadly, does not work. I'm running VirtualBox 4.2.18 on the host machine.
Has anybody had this issue after the update? Thanks in advance.

Problem:
ls hangs when run in a shared folder.
Yesterday I updated Arch Linux (through pacman), halted, updated Virtual Box to 4.2.18, and started Arch Linux again. However, after I did so I could not access my shared directories (with my Windows host). I do not think it is a permission problem (root cannot ls either).
I can:
cd /media/sf_VMShared
cd <a folder in VMShared>
However, I can't ls the directories. This is only a problem in Shared Folders. When I run

After a Lion clean install, how do I retrieve my data from external back-up? Following Apple advice for use of Migration Assistant did not work creating similar issues leading to clean install.

Following Apple advice I used Migration Assistant which crashed new system twice which is why I had to clean install Lion in the first place.
Is there a sure way of doing it?
I have only a few programs that I will have to install myself and that should not be a problem.
I just want my data, music and photos back where I can use them.

Time machine backups. I went to migration assistant a few hours ago and limited my selection to "users", no need for applications, settings and other files. Stuff started moving over at a fast pace but has now seemed to stall.
I will let it run overnight as there are lots of songs and photos as well as a few movies.
If that does not work, then I will go into TM and try restore. I have restored some things in the past such a mail files and it has worked well.
The Apple fellow at the store told me to go right into TM, he may have had a point. I'll get it eventually.

When setting up converged network in VMM cluster and live migration virtual nics not working

I am having issues setting up converged network in VMM. I have been working with MS engineers to no avail. I am very surprised with the expertise of the MS engineers. They had no idea what a converged network even was. I had way more
experience then these guys and they said there was no escalation track so I am posting here in hopes of getting some assistance.
Everyone including our consultants says my setup is correct.
What I want to do:
I have servers with 5 nics and want to use 3 of the nics for a team and then configure cluster, live migration and host management as virtual network adapters. I have created all my logical networks, port profile with the uplink defined as team and
networks selected. Created logical switch and associated portprofle. When I deploy logical switch and create virtual network adapters the logical switch works for VMs and my management nic works as well. Problem is that the cluster and live
migration virtual nics do not work. The correct Vlans get pulled in for the corresponding networks and If I run get-vmnetworkadaptervlan it shows cluster and live migration in vlans 14 and 15 which is correct. However nics do not work at all.
I finally decided to do this via the host in powershell and everything works fine which means this is definitely an issue with VMM. I then imported host into VMM again but now I cannot use any of the objects I created and VMM and have to use standard
switch.
I am really losing faith in VMM fast.
Hosts are 2012 R2 and VMM is 2012 R2 all fresh builds with latest drivers

Are you using static IP address assignment for those vNICs?
Are you sure your are teaming the correct physical adapters where the VLANs are trunked through the connected ports?
Note; if you create the teaming configuration outside of VMM, and then import the hosts to VMM, then VMM will not recognize the configuration.

Acrobat 11 Standard Office 2010 Pro Convert Word documents to PDF not working

I can create PDF's inside Word 2010 using the Acrobat Add-in but right clicking a Word document or dragging a Word document into Adobe Acrobat 11 Standard does not work. I have updated both Acrobat 11 and Office 2010 with the latest updates available. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In order to convert word document to PDF by right-clicking or dragging the file, you must have Adobe PDF printer installed.
For Windows, please check that Adobe PDF is set as default printer under "Start > Devices and Printers"
While for MAC, Adobe PDF printer option is no more available and as it was removed with some changes in Apple's policy regarding virtual printers.
So, check with your OS and then let me know.

SSAS Display Folders not working properly after using Translations

I have a Cube with many fact tables and each having many measures.So for user convience i have created display folder for measures inside measure groups and everything was working fine.
But now i have created Translation (English(United States)) for measures,Calculated member and Dimensions and Processed.I observed that the display folders are working for calculated measures but weirdly the other measures display folder property is not
getting applied.
Please let me know if anybody came cross this and fixed.

According to your description, your display folders in not working after using translation. Right?
In Analysis Services, this is a known bug. However, we have workaround for this issue.
Solution:
1. Locate your cube in Solution Explorer
2. Right click on it and choose 'View code'
3. Find the corresponding <Translation> tag - look for the Foreign name of your Calculated member
4. Below the <Caption> tag place a line with <DisplayFolder> tag. The properties within Translation tag should look like:
              <Language>1001</Language>
              <Caption>Foreign name of Calculated member</Caption>
              <DisplayFolder>Foreign name for the display folder</DisplayFolder>
5. Repeat for all your calculated members.

Smart folders not working...

I've got some smart folders that just stopped working... I haven't changed the definitions and they were working fine, but all of a sudden they are not.
The one that is not working is defined with 3 things, one of them is another smart filter. This has always worked in the past.
I booted the machine, and inso doing went in and out of mail. Is there anything to reset?

I found a work around... but I'm still curious why this stopped working...
The original logic was to have a sort of pre-filter Smart Mailbox with tons of conditions with "Any" selected. Then the second folder had "All" selected with "In the pre-filter mailbox" and "in the inbox selected". This stopped working and I had to then change it to "In the pre-filter mailbox" and "not in the specific folder I later sort into" This isn't quite as useful since sometimes I sort into different folders, but it did work.
I'm on 10.4.10 on a PPC iMac G5 1GB DDR2 SDRAM... I've done all the updates Apple can put out here except the iPod stuff since I'm not in that world... yet.
