2011 Q3 Ruleset update by SAP

The 2011 ruleset update has now been incorporated into 5.3 Support Pack 17 and 10.0 Support Pack 5 which are both in released status.  Please see sap note "1604722 Risk Analysis and Remediation Rule Update Q3 2011" for a full summary of the changes made.  Please see sap note "1352498 Support Pack Numbering - GRC Access Control" for information on the support pack numbering for Access Control.
As indicated in this note, the ruleset changes are incorporated into 5.3 SP17 and 10.0 SP 5.  For new customers implementing Access Control, the rules contained in these support packs contain the most recent version of the delivered ruleset.  See sap note "1033326   Risk Analysis and Remediation Rule Upload guidance" for information on how to find the files in 5.3 and upload.  In 10.0, you will activate the appropriate GRAC_RA_RULESET* BC_SETS applicable to your system.
For existing customers, you will need to review the updates made per the Word document included in sap note 1604722 and manually make the changes to your ruleset that you believe are applicable in your environment.  It is highly recommended that existing customers DON'T reactivate the BC_SETS in 10.0 or reload the text files in 5.3 as it will overwrite your customization.  The only option then is to manually make the changes using the Rule Architect functionality.
Please see related sap notes below for previous ruleset updates and other guidance around rulesets.

Hi Jane
I know you are no longer involved in this area but I would like to get your opinion. A lot of consulting houses that implement GRC AC recommend that the customer copy the Global ruleset and then only make changes on the copied ruleset.  What is your feelings around this. Is it not better (specifically in GRC AC 10.0 that has change logs) to use the Global ruleset?

  • POS DM: Stock updates in SAP Retail

    Hi!
We are implementing SAP Retail (ERP 6.0 EHP4 stack 3), SAP PI (Netweaver PI 7.1 SP 8) and SAP BW (NetWeaver 7.0 ehp1 stack 4, incl BI content 704, SP 3 ) for a client. Their POS system is a 3rd party system, i.e. not SAP POS, and it does not contain any stock information.
This issue concerns stock updates in SAP Retail using POS DM:
On the busiest day of year, my client has 347 000 POS transactions in total from all stores, and in one year they have 30 mill POS transactions. My client requires that SAP will provide them with near-realtime information on stock availability, as this is an important way of providing good customer service. The stock information should be available in SAP Enterprise Portal and SAP Retail Store, as well as standard SAP gui transaction. In addition, the webshop (external system) should have as accurate information about stock as possible, at least it should be updated once every 30 minutes.
My client also has a requirement to be able to create purchase orders during office hours (store opening hours), based on MRP runs. This means they must have as accurate stock levels as possible for running MRP. Stock levels are also used in ATP checks, when deciding whether to pick customer orders from store inventory/stock or to create purchase requisitions.
All these requirements have led us to believe that the best way to solve this, is alternative A:
    - to update stock continuously during office hours, using WPUBON to create material documents, one for each POS transaction. Sales and tenders will be updated in SAP Retail using WPUUMS and WPUTAB.
    Some challenges this will create:
    a)     It will create 347 000 WPUBONs on the busiest day of year, all within 10-12 open hours.
    b)     If we have same amount of material docs and FI docs, they will use 30% of the available 8 digits within their number ranges per year.
    c)     The idocs will fail if there are article locks simultaneously. (However, this can be handled by updating products only at night time (using batch jobs) and using batch job to handle failed idocs)
Edited by: Øystein Emhjellen on Jan 4, 2010 2:15 PM

    Alternative B:
    - we have considered to use WPUUMS and WPUTAB, updating stock levels only once a day. The solution we then must use for taking into account actual sales data is described in SAP Note 1088886 - Using the interface for online stock queries. If we choose this, we need to check during the day for each article any sales, to reduce stock in reporting/screens, ATP checks and in MRP runs. We must also create a program to check for articles sold before sending stock data to webshop (external system). (As we do not know which articles have been sold, we must create our own version of RFC - /POSDW/SALES_QUERY_RFC, to enable that the article number does not have to be specified. Rather, the article numbers (and sold quantities) have to be returned to ERP based on what was actually sold.)
We consider this alternative more risky, due to the need for changing behaviour of standard programs for MRP and ATP check. It will also create a number of RFC calls between SAP ECC and SAP BW.
My questions on this issue are:
    i)     Will alternative A be preferrable, if hardware requirements are handled?
ii)     Do you see any additional challenges related to alternative A?
iii)     Will alternative B be adviceable, concerning the program changes/enhancements involved?
iv)     Are there standard implementations of SAP ECC, that includes the use of RFC - /POSDW/SALES_QUERY_RFC. I.e. standard programs in SAP ECC that uses the information from this RFC call?
    Thanks for any advice !
    Best regards,
    Oeystein Emhjellen

SAP BW Release 3.1 Content - What' s new?
SAP provides a comprehensive set of business analytics to integrate and analyze process-oriented content from a variety of sources and across various applications and industries. It enables companies to improve business processes and quickly respond to changing market dynamics by providing business information to executives, analysts and information consumers, delivered in real-time via the Web.
SAP BW's analytical foundation and wide-range of Business Content enables customers to create their own analytical applications that best fit their business requirements.
    Business Content and Business Analytics
    Business Content for Oracle Applications
Standard Business Content for Oracle Applications 11i was delivered with BW 3.0B covering the Financials and Project Accounting areas. To enhance the value of these existing analytical applications, including Web cockpits for cost center and project monitoring, we provide predefined extractors to load the business data from the Oracle Applications source system into SAP BW.
The integration of Oracle Applications into SAP BW is based on the new Oracle extract package of Ascential's DataStage product. Business data from Oracle Applications is extracted into the InfoCubes for the Oracle General ledger and for Oracle Project Accounting that were delivered with BW 3.0B. For more information please click here and also here.
Analytics Supporting The Concept of Business Activity Monitoring (BAM)
BAM is a Gartner term that defines the concept of providing real-time access to critical business performance indicators in order to improve the speed and effectiveness of business operations. As business transactions are increasingly automated, the speed of these transactions accelerates. SAP BW delivers packaged analytics, for example in the SCM area, that combine application and data integration using SCEM (Supply Chain Event Management).
SCEM enables companies to monitor processes immediately and in great detail. This means that they are able to recognize and react to critical situations quickly, before they result in delayed deliveries and production standstills. In many cases, event information is essential not only during the processes, but also after completion, because it can be used both for measuring quality aspects and for cost saving. For this reason, it is advisable to integrate the Supply Chain Event Manager with SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW).
Business Analytics - SAP's Packaged Analytical Applications per Business Area / Industry
Analytical applications measure and improve business processes across a company's entire value chain. Based on a solid foundation (Data Warehousing, BI Platform and BI Suite of tools), SAP BW provides integrated applications that understand each other's metadata, and offer a closed loop that incorporates all aspects: Operations, analytics, and personalization.
SAP BW 3.1 Content delivers analytics for all business areas such as CRM, SCM, SRM, HR, etc. as well as for different industries, such as Retail, Banking, and Service Providers to name a few.

  • Issue with Safari and / or 2011-02 Security Update???

Updated our iMac and Macbooks to above.  Since that point, Airport Utility (AU) can not find the Airport Extreme (AE) from either Macbook.  The Macbooks can attach to the AE - just that AU can not find it.  However, our iMac AU - hard wired ethernet connection - can find the AE.  I reloaded the AE 7.5.2 firmware - still same problem.  Also having issues with connecting to the TM backup from the MB- seems related to the AE.  Reloaded AE with 7.5.2 - no change.  Never a problem until this latest update.  No other changes have been made.
Has anyone else encountered this problem or have a suggestion on how I might fix it.

Rod - Thanks for the suggestion - I ended up not trying it.
I reverted Airport Extreme (via my AU through the hard-wired iMac) to 7.4.2 from 7.5.2.
Note - 7.5.2 had been working fine until the Safari and 2011-02 Security update were installed.  Seems as if it caused something to go wrong in 7.5.2.
I can now see AE via AU via the wifi Macbooks - and TM is working again from the Macbooks.  The TM disk is actually on the iMac.
    Thanks - Rob

    Ravindra ,
Is it possible with bapi or do i have to use a proxy??
    Possible !!!

Try the Firefox SafeMode. <br />

''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    # You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.

  • Updating the SAP IDM Provisioning Framework

    HI Laurent,
I know this has been posted and answered for some time but reading the documentation on how to upgrade the provisioning framework is not really clear to me what will happen and I am hoping you have the experience now to help me (importing the SAP Provisioning Framework.mcc file).
Reading the documentation it sounds like the whole provisioning framework from SAP should have been disabled and renamed during implementation but all I have done is use the SAP framework and put the custom tasks in a different folder.
In the identity center I have the provisioning framework folder and underneath I have custom tasks, core and connector folders.  Do you know if I import the new .mcc file will it overwrite my custom tasks folder and effectively delete it?
    Many thanks,
    Andy

    Andy,
I branched this off as a new question. Take a look at these documents as a start.
Updating the SAP Provisioning Framework Version 2 - SAP NetWeaver Identity Management Provisioning Framework for SAP Sys…
    https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001230022010E
However, the basic process is just to import it.  You should make sure that you have backups first.  Note that there are some options when importing that will help you through controlling what gets overwritten.  Best practice is always to make sure that your active provisioning framework is renamed so that when you import the new version it will not cause conflicts.  I've never really had to upgrade my frameworks so hopefully someone out there will have some "hands on" advice to share.

Restore your library from an up to date backup.
If you don't have a backup (which you really should), see turingtest2's user tip on Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash for steps necessary to restore your library within iTunes - this assumes that your media is all present on your computer, as it always should be.
Otherwise, see tt2's notes on Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device

  • Malware Detection System 2011-003 definition update conditions

I have read various reports, but I haven't seen anything by other than the kbase: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4651 regarding the frequency of updating. Has anyone been able to discover what triggers these updates?  I have read on Intego's blog that it updates every 24hrs or after each restart of the machine. But, does that include waking from sleep, etc?
It would be nice if the preference window had a line to tell you when last updated, or that it hasn't updated (like Safari Safe Browsing thing does when it hasn't updated for at least one day).
Apple maintains a list of known malicious software that is used during the safe download check to determine if a file contains malicious software. The list is stored locally, and with Security Update 2011-003 is updated daily by a background process.
I guess you could always examine the xprotect files, but their has to be a better way to make sure your system is updated.
I am hoping (and have submitted feedback already) that Apple will update the kbase document to let us know "when" definition updates are suppose to occur and how to make sure your covered.

I go to /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle but there is no /Contents/Resources/XProtect.plist following CoreTypes.bundle
A "bundle" is really a folder in disguise.
When you get to CoreTypes.bundle, right-click it and choose "Show Package Contents." You will then be able to continue drilling down into Contents and then into Resources.
For future convenience,  while in the Resources folder you can drag the little "proxy icon" at the top of its Finder window onto your Desktop while holding down both the Option and Command keys. That will create an alias to the Resources folder on the Desktop.
You can keep the alias there or move it somewhere convenient. Next time you can just double-click the alias to immediately open the real Resources folder and  visualize its contents, including the XProtect.plist file and the XProtect.meta.plist file.

  • CPS parameters are not getting updated in SAP

We have recently migrated our SAP and CPs servers, after that we are  facing few CPS issues  and it is affecting lot of key batch jobs. One typical example is given below.
CPS is supposed to trigger a job  DD simulation, by copying the SOURCE_DATE_ID -1-Dec-2006  and modifies the parameters BUDAT and FAEDA_HIGH. The parameter FAEDA_HIGH is calculated as time.now()+ 5 working days as defined in the expression. When we try to run the job today with the date 24 Dec 2010, CPS has calculated the FAEDS_HIGH correctly as 2-Jan-2011. IN SAP the variant gets created but for the field FAEDA_HIGH the date value is not getting updated properly it is display some other date. (e.g)  It is showing as 4-jan-2011,  I removed the xpression and gave another date for the FAEDA_HIGH field as 10/01/2011, but in SAP it is not getting updated.
Has anyone faced similar kind of issue. share you experience
    Regards,
    Ramprasad.

    Hi ,
PLease find attached out XBP version
XBP connection pool for SAP system ISU
      XMI interface version           : 2.0
Since we have taken backup and restored the SAP Database, the CPs transport file already exists in the System.
    Basically what happens is
So actually what is happening is, the CPS parameter FAEDS_HIGH expressions are  not used for due date calculation.. CPS just copies the source date-id to target id  and similarly for the due date based on the difference
source_id variant date 01-12-2006   due date 02-12-2006  ( Next day)
Target_id Variant date 25-12-2010  due date 26-12-21010  ( Next Day)
I tried changing the Source date id from 01-12-2006 to 24-12-2010.
Source Variant date 24-12-2010   due date 04-01-2011 ( 10 Days)
Target Variant date 25-12-2010  due date 05-01-2011 ( 10 Days)
