2011x

Hi, I have HP 2011x monitor with 2 video sources (2 separate PC’s), VGA and DVI-D.
Is there any s/w switch command I can use to switch between the two instead of pushing the screen input button?

No - only with a kvm switch you can use 'hot keys'.

  • How to Change the Resolution on the Monitor? Model HP 2011X- (20" flat screen monitor)

"input signal out of range, change settings to 1600 x 900 -60HZ" How to make this change?
I have a HP desktop PC and I recently purchased a HP 2011X  (20" flat monitor). Initially, I hooked it up to the pc and it worked and I did not have to install anything. But the other day, I ran the Microsoft's Fix-it-Center and ran the resolution problem detection even though I did not have any problem with the resolution. Within 5 seconds, a dark black screen appeared with the following message:
    INPUT SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE
    CHANGE SETTINGS TO
    1600 X 900 - 60HZ
It displays this message and then the monitor goes to sleep. I press the buttons at the bottom of the monitor and from time to time, it displays a resolution screen that shows the monitor's resolution is not 1600 x 900 but that HP recommends that setting. However, I cannot change anything and that small screen with black background disappears in a few seconds. I cannot see anything else and I have tried the following:
    - Turned the PC on and off several times and the message is still there
    - Unplugged the power to the monitor and re-plugged it and no change
    - Unplugges the video cable from the PC to the monitor and re-plugged it and nothing
Please help. I cannot see the PC screens at all even though the PC is on. All I see is the black background screen with white text with the above message. How do I fix this when I cannot see the Windows screen or from the monitor.
    Thanks,
    Bob

    Hello IE_PC_User,
Let's try to get your computer to the boot options and go into VGA mode to see if you can change the resolution then.
Start up your computer and start tapping away at the F8 key.
Once the computer presents you with the boot options choose the VGA mdoe.
It should boot up and everything look really out of place. Set the proper resolution and then reboot.

  • HP 2011x 20" LED monitor

My almost new 2011x 20" LED monitor, which worked perfectly when purchased, now displays a distortion pattern overlaid on top of any screen or window content.  I can't reach any onscreen menus except what might display on the extreme right or left of the screen where the pattern does not overlay.  Any suggestions as to what is wrong?  Does this when connected to another computer.

If the monitor was purchased less than a year ago, please contact HP Customer Support via telephone, chat, or email if in the USA. If you reside in another region, click the "map" in the lower left corner to select your locality.

  • HP 2011x 20-inch LED Monitor

I bought this monitor in January of 2012.  It worked fine until I boxed it up for 7 months of storage.  After pulling it out and hooking it up to my computer, it does this...
Comes up clearly (I do receive an initial error).
After a minute or two while I'm working on it, the screen will start to flicker and then go black.  Sometimes it will come back.
I feel like the power cord might be warmer than normal as well.
Any ideas?  No one wants to service it locally, but at over $130, I'm pretty disappointed that this rarely used monitor has already died.  Not sure I'll ever choose another HP model again after this experience.
At this point, I'm willing to try to fix it myself if I could figure out what part(s) to purchase.

    Hi J2W
Thank you for trying to remember the error, but not to worry we will go forward from here.
I am sending you a link to the user guide click here. Please see page 25 the 3rd one down in the list under problems.  I will a also include a document on Display Quality click here. • HP 2011x can not set resolution to 1600x900

I had to replace the hard drive in my Pavilion p7-1270t, Windows 7 Professional OS, drivers are shown as updated. However, I am unable to set my monitor resolution to the recommended 1600x900. I only have 2 settings, 1024x768 and 800x600.  I downloaded the Intel Driver Update Utility as recommended in a previous question regarding this same issue, updated to the recommended driver, but to no avail.  Any suggestions?

From the symptoms, I suspect the graphics driver is not installed.  In the post, it does not state what was used to install Windows 7.  If the Recovery DVD set was not used, then that would tend to support my suspicion.  On THIS PAGE, there is another driver for graphics.  Listed is Original ATI Unified Graphics Driver, and the Original NVIDIA Unified Graphics Driver.
Maybe both are needed.  With these setups that have graphics as part of the CPU and also use a Graphics card, I read that many are having problems when not using the Recovery DVD set.

  • Dual Monitor Setup S5-1070t

I am trying to connect a second monitor to my HP S5-1070t desktop  It has an AMD Radeon HD 6450 graphics card installed which was ordered with the computer.  This card has a DVI and an HDMI port on it.  My main monitor is an HP 2011x connected to the DVI port on the card.  I am attempting to connect a Compaq Q1859 monitor to the HDMI port using an HDMI to VGA adapter.  I updated the AMD Calalyst Control Center to Version 2013.0328.2218.38225.  When I run Detect Displays it only shows my HP2011x display.
I scanned through the previous dual monitor questions but I didn't find anything related to my problem.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    GL Rowe

Here are the original specs and configurable options for your HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1070t CTO Desktop Computer. Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion 2011x WLED backlit monitor and your Compaq Q1859 Widescreen LCD monitor. According to the specs, the 2011x monitor supports both DVI-D and VGA video input connectors, while the Q1859 only supports a VGA video input connector.
You stated the s5-1070t with HD 6450 graphics card supports both HDMI and DVI video outputs but you didn't indicate which type of DVI it is. DVI comes in DVI-I (both analog and digital), DVI-A (analog only), and DVI-D (digital only). Please review this Wikipedia DVI article to determine which type is on your card or post a photo of the ports on the card.
You also indicate you are using a HDMI-to-VGA adapter. There is no way way to "adapt" a digital HDMI signal into an analog VGA signal short of using an expensive digital-to-analog converter. These converters normallly run in the hundreds of dollars and don't always produce good results. Until the monitors are correctly connected without this "so-called" adapter, the computer is only going acknowledge one monitor.
    If, and only if, the Radeon HD 6450 supports HDMI and DVI-I, you can connect both monitors as follows and both monitors will work;
    Computer ---> HDMI-to-DVI-D (digital) cable ---> HP 2011x Monitor
    Computer ---> DVI-to-VGA dongle ----> VGA cable ---> Compaq Q1859 Monitor

I need a monitor power supply for HP2711X. Where can I buy one?

Because the XP597A3 (actually any of these product numbers; XP597AA, XP597A3, XP597AS) is a HP 2011x 20" LCD/LED widescreen monitor. The OP was looking for an A/C adapter power supply for the HP 2711x 27" LCD/LED widescreen monitor, which is product # XP600AA or XP600A3. The adapter power supply I linked to, is the correct part for the 2711x monitor.... that is why not those other parts.

  • 2 extended desktops on macbook pro?

    Hello, I am using a MacBook Pro 13" Mid-2012.
What I am trying to do is get 2 seperate extended desktops (one on the left, one on the right).
The displays I am using are: HP 2011X Monitor and Haier 22" LED TV
I have this adapter device: I14-42285_chiclet01_gfv_mn_3429793.jpg
Now, when I connect the two displays to the macbook, it recognizes them as one unit and I am left with a mirrored extended desktop (with compromised visuals).
Alternatively I can attain 3 mirrored displays of the visuals on the macbook pro. None of these two options suits my needs.
Is there something I can do to configure the two monitors, as 2 seperate displays, to be used as 2 seperate extended desktops? or as 1 entire extended  desktop? (as opposed to mirrored)

  • HDCP movies won't play on hardware that should play it

    Hi,
I have recently purchased some HD movies from the iTunes store but when trying to play them I get an error message saying that I can't play the movie unless I have an HDCP display. I am using an old (yeah, I know, crappy) HP 2011x monitor, but which according to the manufacturer is HDCP compliant:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c02822232 &lang=en&cc=us&taskId=&prodSeriesId=5096582&prodTypeId=382087
My video card is a Sapphire Radeon HD 7750:
    http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1159&pid=1658 &psn=&lid=1&leg=0
which I think should support HDCP.
I am running Windows 8 Pro.
So, what am I doing wrong? I am using a DVI cable which I think was supplied with the monitor. Is the cable the problem?
    Thanks,
    Codrut

It seems this happens from time to time in iTunes. Restarting iTunes usually resolves the problem.
If the problem is persistent in Windows 8 check that Hyper-V is not eabled as HDCP does not work with Hyper-V enabled.

    Hi,
Microsoft Office Starter 2010 is a simplified, ad-funded version of Microsoft Office 2010 that comes pre-loaded and ready to use on your computer. Office Starter is different from the complete version of Office in that it includes just two productivity programs
(Word Starter and Excel Starter), and the interface includes display advertising.
And Office Starter uses Click-to-Run as its technology for installation and maintenance on your computer.

  • Imac doesn't recognize external monitor but was working

i had my HP monitor (HP 2011x) connected to my imac for about three months and when i went to move my monitors and imac to clean my desk, my imac no longer recognizes the monitor.  all i did was shift the monitors to the left w/out unplugging any cables.
i've seen multiple threads about the same issue where the external monitor is no longer recognized and the majority of no solutions.
has anyone come up with a solution to this?
i restarted in safe mode to try and connect - no joy
i cleared the pram - no joy
    any ideas?

thanks man ... i might just do that.  it is just aggravating b/c this problem seems to have been around for a long time (based on all the support forums threads started about it).
i went to the apple store this afternoon and verified my thunderbolt to hdmi was working and sure enough it was.  i talked to two staff members there and they were equally as clueless why the external monitor is not being recognized via the cable.
