2012 r2 Essentials on premises Exchange 2013 integration failing
I have a new server in my development environment that I have installed Essentials and Exchange 2013 on with all of the latest updates. After getting Exchange 2013 installed I am unable to successfully run the Exchange Integration wizard. It fails saying
that it can't contact the exchange server.
I am able to access the Exchange Powershell, Exchange Admin center and OWA.
The Essentials Anywere Access has been setup and Is working as well.
any suggestions on where to go from here?
Hi,
-->It fails saying that it can't contact the exchange server.
Can you ping the exchange server via server name and IP address? In addition, did you apply
Cumulative Update 5 for Exchange Server 2013 and reboot the Exchange server, then monitor the result? Just a confirmation, thanks for your understanding.
Please also refer to following article and check if can help you.
Integrate an On-Premises Exchange Server with Windows Server Essentials
In addition, if this issue still exists, please follow the path:
%programdata%\Microsoft\Windows Server\Logs and check log files if find more clues.
Windows Server Essentials 2012/2012 R2 Log Files
If any update, please feel free to let me know,
Best regards,
Justin Gu

Getting EOP to send mail to On premises Exchange 2013
one of may clients has Office 365 Enterprise E1 for Nonprofits and on premise exchange 2013 server which I'm trying to implement the EOP service.
but i cannot get the exchange online outbound connector to forward on the emails to the on premise server.
i have active directory sync working.
i.e when i add a new user on premises it creates it online.
could anybody let me know how to get this service to work.
what i would like is
1 mx record to point to eop service and collect and filter email.
(which i have done by adding mx records as per dns instructions. checks show as fine.but changed back to on premises server because emails where only staying in online inbox. the on premises domain name has been setup within office 365 as default domain and
in accepted domains within exchange online.both exchange online and on premises default domain name our the same.)
2 filter mail to be forwarded to correct mail box to on premises server.
( which i have setup outbound connector with exchange online to point to our on premises exchange server but does not receive any emails they are received in office 365 online mailbox and not forwarded on)
3 on premises server to forward mail to EOP service
( which i have done by creating inbound connector in exchange online and adding it as smart host to on premises outbound connector and appears to be working fine.)
am i missing something?
any help would be gratefully appreciated
Many Thanks

Migrate Office 365 To On-Premise Exchange 2013
hello
My client attempts to migrate the mailboxes hosted from Office 365 to Exchange 2013 on-premise hosted in the client's company.
However, despite all attempts , it appears that no procedure works correctly. All's time , something wrong appears Inside the process.
Indeed, on Office 365 we don't see the servers in our on-premise exchange 2013.
the Exchange Hybrid are set correctly and to exchange 2013 migration attempts to run Office 365. (MRS proxy select)
All servers are in the same Update. My client can't update with the last CU6 all server and want to stay with the CU3
Thanks for your read and for your help

AlexisBonjour,
" My client can't update with the last CU6 all server and want to stay with the CU3"
C'est par contre un point plus que géneant, le CU3 n'est plus supporté par MS, la compatibilité avec O365 n'est donc pas garantie.
Si vous souhaitez un echange plus sérieux sur ce sujet, vous pouvez me contacter.

I have removed the ecp site from default site and attempting to rerun SP1 now. I do not have high hopes. :(Hi,
Thanks for your response.
From the error description, you need to manually remove the ECP with IIS manager in both the Default Web Site and the Exchange Back End firstly. And then continue the upgrade to check the result.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

Setting up Push Notification from on premise exchange 2013
We have been trying to get push notifications to work with the OWA for IPhone/Ipad app using the information provided in the below TechNet article. We have an exchange 2013 on premise installation and going by the info in the article, are attempting to create

Cisco IronPort with On Premise Exchange 2013
Hello All
The company I work for is in the process of starting an on premise Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 migration.
Most of the issues I don't think I'll have an issue with; however, where I am not finding much info is in regards to other companies using Cisco IronPort with Exchange 2013.
SO, I have two questions within this topic...
One, is anyone using Cisco IronPort with Exchange 2013 (on premise) out here?
Two, my manager is very controlling. I am the Exchange Admin; however, anything having to do with this IronPort thing with regards to Exchange HE has to do it. So, if anyone is familiar with this IronPort thing... How much work on the IronPort is going
to have to be done during this migration to keep things going? It shouldn't be any different with Exchange 2013 than it is with Exchange 2007.

Hello all,
I am a sysadmin at a 3 campus school, and am trying to extend our AD schema to include Exchange 2013 attributes so that we can configure groups synced to Office 365 using DirSync. However it keeps failing at the same point each time.
I have tried with RTM first, and then CU6, but I keep getting the same error and am unsure how to fix it.
"repadmin /showrepl" says that our 3 DCs are replicating with no issues, and I'm trying to extend the schema using an "Enterprise Admin"/"Schema Admin" account on our schema master DC.
Our domain/forest functional level is Server 2008R2, and we do not have an Exchange server set up already - if that helps.
The PowerShell error is:
PS C:\Users\rbbr\Desktop\Exchange> .\setup /PrepareSchema /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

File copy complete. Setup will now collect additional information needed for installation.

The schema attribute "CN=ms-DS-GeoCoordinates-Altitude,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=kurnai,DC=lan" does exist in the schema, but I don't know what to do or where to go from here.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.I just tried .\setup /PrepareAD /OrganizationName:kurnaicollege /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms, and got the exact same error as above.
Is there a way to delete the offending schema attributes, or to force its overwrite or something?
EDIT: I am also getting these eventvwr errors when running /PrepareAD, if it helps:

Hi, Everyone
i want to know what is the requirements to apply two factor authentication in Exchange 2013, Through Mobile or SMS.
what is the third party solutions of Microsoft solutionsHi,
If we can deploy Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) 2.0, it means that Outlook Web App and EAC in Exchange 2013 SP1 can support multifactor authentication methods, such as certificate-based authentication, authentication or security tokens, and
fingerprint authentication.
Additional, we can use TMG or Microsoft UAG to deploy MFA, please refer to:

Hello.
While trying to reinstall Exchange 2013 on a 2012 domain I keep running into an issue while running the following command:
PS D:\> .\Setup.EXE /PrepareAD /OrganizationName:Reliam /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerm
This is what the ExchangeSetup log has:

I'm uncertain on what steps I should take next. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!Hi EdgarGV,
Agree with ManU's suggestion. If we want to reinstall the Exchange, we need to remove old Exchange Server completely.
Please follow the steps below to check if there are something about old Exchange.
1. Run ADSIEdit.msc.
2. Right Click on ADSIEdit and Click Connect to, connect to “Configuration”.
3. Navigate to the following objects.
CN=Configuration,DC=Domain,DC=Com -> CN=Services -> CN=Microsoft Exchange
CN=Configuration,DC=Domain,DC=Com -> CN=Services -> CN=Microsoft Exchange Autodiscover
Hope it helps.
If there are any problems, please feel free to let me know.
Best regards,
Amy

Exchange 2013 schemaprep failing
Trying to setup Exchange 2013 on a test domain with no prior Exchange.
All prereq's done, tried doing the schemaprep from one of the CAS servers, and it failed, also tried from one of the DC's. DC's are 2008R2. Domain and forest are at 2003 level. Running as the domain's "administrator" account, which is a domain admin, schema
admin and enterprise admin. Single forest, single domain.
Logs below:

Exchange 2013 installation fails
We're in the process of migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. I've followed the prerequisites, and have the necessary account permissions, but when I start the installation it fails at step 1 of 5 (mailbox role:mailbox service).
This warning shows up in the application log:
Event ID 2397
Process ExSetupUI.exe (PID=9844). Object [CN=Mailbox Database 1783948598,CN=Databases,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=<domain>,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=<domain>,DC=local]. Property [Server] is set to value [<Exchange 2013 server name>
DEL:492ae292-f89f-4a29-b009-22a60973a4bf], it is pointing to the Deleted Objects container in Active Directory. This property should be fixed as soon as possible.
This error shows up in the Exchange install console, as well as the application log:
Event ID 1002

I should also mention that this installation was attempted once before by an ex-coworker, and it failed. I've spent hours searching Google but haven't come up with a solution. Does anyone have any ideas?Check it at Exchange 2007 side, Get-MailboxDatabase -Server E2007ServerName or via EMC to confirm but if msExchOwningServer/msExchMasterServer
points to the server which is stale 2013 server then it shouldn't be connected to E2007 by any way and you are good to remove those...
But I wouldn't touch another DB which has just server name and not servername\0ADEL:guid
as it is not giving error (at least yet...) in the setup

ThanksHi
When you prepared the Schema and AD did you run the commands and did you run the install from an elevated prompt?
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. -
Exchange 2013 : OWA failing after login with error "HTTPS 400"
Greetings,
I am in phase of Upgrading my existing Exchange 2007 Infra to Exchange 2013.
The environment is as mentioned below:
4 Mailbox Server (DAG)
4 CAS Servers (NLB)
Everything has been configured and working properly, except Only one CAS server is able to pass the login request
https://servername/owa
Rest of all the CAS servers are failing with error "HTTPS 400" while accessing OWA
https://localhost/owa
Its happening only while accessing OWA, ECP works fine.
Please let me know the fix to counter this strange issue.
Thanks in advance.
RegardsHi,
Please check if IIS log is enabled on the CAS server, if not, please enable it.
Then check the detailed error code from IIS logs (Path: inetpub\logs\Logfiles\W3SVC1 ) , some code like 400.1, 400.2 ect.
Refer to this KB for more details
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943891
After that, please post the OWA related login entry with error code shows 400.
Thanks for your time and patience.
Meanwhile, please check the OWA authentication method by command
Get-OWAVirtualDirectory –Server “Ex2013 CAS server” | fl *authentication*
We should set the authentication as the below:
Get-OWAvirtualdirectory -Server “Ex2013_CAS_server” | set-OWAvirtualdirectory -windowsAuthentication $False -BasicAuthentication $True -FormsAuthentication $True
Then perform iisreset and try to access OWA again.
Best Regards.
