2012 upgrade question, number of servers, SCOM, Forefront

I have a bit of confusion on how many servers I need to migrate from SCCM 2007 to 2012. I read many articles about upgrading the primary site side by side and the two DP servers I am using now. I am confused about SCOM, FSP and the 2003 Forefront Server.
All other server are currently 2008R2.
So my question, will I have to keep the Forefront and SCOM server or do these get integrated into the SCCM 2012 server?

Forefront Server has been discontinued and replaced by System Center Endpoint Protection Protection (SCEP). This is a ConfigMgr role now. SCOM is unrelated. You maintain that separately.

Can't purchase upgrade serial number? - page not found

I am ready to purchase an upgrade serial number, since my Ap3 trial has expired. But when I click on the "buy" button, I am taken to an Apple Store page that reads "page not found" Has anyone else seen this??
Have they removed the ability to purchase a serial number? That's how I upgraded from Ap1 to Ap2, oh so long ago.

To close this out:
I called Apple store support, and they assured me that if I purchased the "upgrade" that an email would be sent containing the serial number, and no hard product would need to be shipped. I questioned the nice clerk several times, but she was +absolutely certain+ that an email would be immediately forthcoming.
So I believed her.
Bad idea. Wrong. No email. No serial number. I have to wait for the shipped disk (which of course I don't need since I have already installed the trial version.)
And of course, the Apple store can't fix this kind of problem. Maybe the "pro store" can help tomorrow.

How do you convert OPC servers 2012 opf file to OPC servers 2013?

When I upgraded from LV 2012 to LV 2013 SP1 my NI OPC Servers 2012 was also involuntarily upgraded to 2013. Now my shared variables don't work. How do you migrate or convert a 2012 *.opf file to 2013? The only clue given by the software Help file is a hint that ProgID Redirect can be used, but there is no explantion of how or where to find this feature or how to use it!

I set up a system that had LabVIEW 2012 along with NI OPC Servers 2012 and upgraded it to 2013. I found that the .opf file I created from NI OPC Servers 2012 was able to be opened by NI OPC Servers 2013 without any issues and I was able to access the tags from a LabVIEW project. However, one difference between our setups is that I did not upgrade my project from LabVIEW 2012 to 2013 - I create a new project in LabVIEW 2013.
Are you getting any error message when you try to open the .opf file in NI OPC Servers 2013? Or did it seem to import correctly? What if you try to create new bindings for a few shared variables rather than using your existing shared variables (just to see if it works)? Perhaps some of the references just need to be updated.

Help with installing sql server 2012 upgrade advisor

Hello there,
I have two questions here:
1. My sql server 2005 is on Window Server 2003/SP2. Does this mean I cannot install sql server 2012 upgrade advisor on it? This page (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144256.aspx)
cites that the supported OS are "Windows Vista SP1, or SP2, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2."
2. I tried to install the upgrade advisor on my local machine (windows 7, 64-bit). Even after I installed "Microsoft SQL Server Transact-SQL ScriptDom ", I still got the error message "Setup is missing prerequisites: - Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Transact-SQL
ScriptDom, which is not installed by Updgrade Advisor Setup........" Why is that?

Security upgrade question - I have a 4S phone v6.01 with an upgrade to IOS 7.04 already downloaded and ready for install. I would like to install the 6.1.6 security upgrade instead. How do I delete the ios7 in the queue or have the 6.1.1 pushed as an option to the phone?

You can't install iOS 6.1.6 on that device and must update it to 7.0.6.

ACS 4.2 to 4.2.1 Upgrade Questions

I have been tasked to upgrade our four ACS servers from
4.2.1.15 to the latest version. The ACS servers are
applianced based. I have browsed the download software page
of cisco.com and have found this file:
app/Acs_4.2.1.15.11.zip (ACS SE 4.2.1.15.11 cumulative
patch).
Can someone confirm if this is the latest/best file to download
the latest 4.2 release of hardware based Cisco Secure ACS?
For those who have upgraded to this latest release, can you
comment on your experience regarding the upgrade process or
ACS performance post-upgrade? Any issues/caveats about the
process or performance post-upgrade?

ACS provides a migration utility to transfer data from migration-supported versions of ACS 4.x to any ACS 4.x machine. The ACS migration process requires, in some cases, administrative intervention to manually resolve data before you import it to ACS.
The Migration utility completes the data migration process in two phases:
•Analysis and Export
•Import
In the Analysis and Export phase, you identify the objects that you want to export into 4.x. The Migration utility analyses the objects, consolidates the data, and exports it.
After the Analysis and Export phase is complete, the Migration utility generates a report that lists any data compatibility errors, which you can manually resolve to successfully import these objects into new ACS.
The Analysis and Export phase is an iterative process that you can rerun many times to ensure that there are no errors in the data to be imported. After you complete the Analysis and Export phase, you can run the import phase to import data into ACS.

I think you confuse standalone dbconsole with centralized gridcontrol. There's only ONE command to start database control: emctl start dbconsole. This command will start the integrated agent,too. No need to start the agent separately.

FCS Upgrade Serial Number?

I recently bought a set of upgrade disks for Final Cut Studio 2 on eBay.
Completely original Apple-manufactured disks in an Apple box.
But no upgrade serial number.
The seller insisted that the upgrade installation would proceed from the existing FCS installation on my Mac without an additional serial number.
Is this claim true or do I, indeed. need an additional upgrade serial number in addition to my previous FCS serial number?

You need the NEW serial number. Your old one will be proof that you are upgrading. But without the new one, you can't install the version you just bought.
Hoping this seller isn't trying to scam you. EVERY FCP installer has a serial number...a NEW serial number. It won't work without the new one.

1. I logged into the Adobe Store and accessed

2. I downloaded the installer.
3. I added my serial number to the installer.
4. I received an error message stating "this is an upgrade serial number. The serial number from your previous version of Lightroom is also required."

It sounds like you bought an upgrade from Adobe. How much did you pay? The upgrade is about $80, and the non-upgrade is about $150. If you bought an upgrade version and had no previous version, you would see what you're seeing.
If that is the case and I were you, I'd call Adobe, and arrange for a refund and to order the correct version.

Moved to new Macbook Pro; Aperture 3 Upgrade Serial Number not Accepted

I have just moved to a new MacBook Pro. I migrated Aperture 3 from my Macbook. This was originally an upgrade from Aperture 2.
When opening Aperture 3 on the MacBook Pro I am asked for the serial number. I enter the upgrade serial number which is rejected.
I am really struggling to find the Aperture 2 box and don't know whether that serial number would be the solution.
Has anyone else come across this issue and know how it is resolved?
Assume I will not be able to find the Aperture 2 box. Can Apple help given that I will have previously registered Aperture 2 and 3 in the past? I really don't want to have to splash out on another couple of hundred quid for a lost box.

Yes, assuming that you legally purchased the original version of Aperture from Apple, they will have the serial number on file. When you call they can provide you with the original serial number.

start the installation of design premium cs5.5 just to make sure you're using the correct serial number. once your serial number is accepted you'll see a screen giving you the option to install none, some or all of the cs5.5 programs. at that point you can quit and not install anything having verified your cs5.5 serial number if you want nothing cs5.5 on your computer.
on the other hand, if your cs5.5 serial number is not accepted, you'll pinpoint the problem.
or, if your cs5.5 number is accepted, you could install a cs5.5 program and then install cs6. it should recognize you have a cs5.5 program installed and NOT prompt you for you cs5.5 serial number allowing you to continue with your cs6 installation.

6-15-2012 upgrade and browser flash video problems.

The 6-15-2012 upgrade for flash player v. 11.3.300.257 causes flash videos not to load in the firefox browser.
What can I do to remedy this situation besides rolling back to a previous version or disabling protected mode
permanently?
Flash content does not appear at all in my browser (firefox v. 5.0), and I do not have realplayer installed.
There is no crashing, error message, flash video content does not even appear. Changing browser settings and
preferences or disabling addons does nothing. This problem has never occured before the 6-15-2012 update.
The operating system is W7 64 bit.
Troubleshooting methods outlined on page http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#4468493 do not work.

What they mean is when Adobe resolves this issue. So far, there's nothing the user can do if the protected mode is what is causing the problems.
If you look over the dozens and dozes of posts about this, you'll see that some progress has been made. The bug causing Firefox's "silent crashes" or crashes upon close-out has been duplicated, and according to some sources, has been "resolved," but so far, no patches or formal announcements have been made.
Since there seems to be a host of problems associated with Flash Player 11.3.300.257--conflicts with Real Player; constant crashes; excessive memory/CPU usage, etc.-- I'd imagine that Adobe will try to (hopefully) fix as many as possible in the next version.
In the meantime, we'll all have to wait it out using the earlier version or the new version that we--ourselves--have had to hack to disable "protected mode." Not knowing how vulnerable Flash Player is without the Protected Mode, I'm staying away from sites with Flash Content as much as possible. Unfortunately, since most of my browsing involves business related activities, and since many, many business related sites have some Flash content, this can be a challenge.
