2012R2 Deployment with WDS yields Driver could not be installed error

I'm using WDS installed on a 2008R2 SP1 server. My boot image is from Windows 2012. When I deploy a Windows 2012
R2 image I recive an error dialog during setup that states "Windows installation cannot continue because a required driver could not be installed." In checking the setupact.log file it appears as though setup can't find pkgmgr.exe.
If I use the boot image from 2012 R2 then it works fine. I want to continue using my existing boot image from 2012. Any thoughts on why this is failing?

Hi,
The WinPE version is 4.0 in using boot image on Windows Server 2012, which does not support deploy Windows 8.1/2012 R2.
You should use WinPE 5.0 (from Windows Server 2012 R2) as you just tested.

ran into the problem of connecting to the server and had to inject the lan drivers to have network connectivity. After the image was uploaded to the server, we thought to try and run a deployment of that image on an identical laptop. PXE boot into that Image,
it asks for domain credentials which are accepted it begins the installation process and fails at "Windows installation cannot continue because a required driver could not be installed"?
We just set up client logging on the server and it is useless it just says that the driver is missing, but what driver is missing? There are thousands, which one?

Also, please try to find out Setup logs from the client computer, and we can see the details in the Setup log:
If the failure occurs in Windows PE before the disk configuration page of the WDS client is completed, you can find the logs at the

During a deployment from wds i get the following error with windows 8.1 "windows installation cannot continue because

Hardware : Gigabyte GA-Q77M-D2H.
I got image from installation Disc.
When the error occors this is the event in the admin-log on server 2008R2

The problem is a unsuccesful installation of driver in the driverstore, the first step would be to ensure that you are using the latest driver for the hardware and operating system or you’re experiencing
compatibility issues with a driver.
Then I suggest pressing shift+f10, and type diskpart then lisk disk, view whether all disks work fine.

Hello, I did a drive eraser and reinstalled everything(to clean up computer), then when I got to reinstalling firefox I had a problem. I play a game called Fallensword. It has a script called Fallenswordhelper. So I installed GreaseMonkey, then when I tried to install scripts it said "Script could not be installed Error: Failed to @require json2.js". I have done this to my computer every year since I started using computers. I have never had this before. Please help me get a fix for this, for I google it and cannot find a answer.

ASIO Driver could not be loaded Error CS3
Hi,
Today, i have installed my Production premium CS3 on my MacBook Pro (Macbookpro 2,2) This Macbook is already 3 years old. Previously my production premium was installed on my iMac (iMac5,1). On my iMac everything worked perfect.
But on my Macbook Pro i can't open premiere pro because of this error:
'The previously selected ASIO driver could not be loaded, and may be in use by another application. The default ASIO driver is now in use"
After this error, premiere gets another fatal error and shuts down.
I already had find a solution but i can't perform it because premiere keeps shutting down before i can do something in the preferences.
Because i know it is something with sound i tested Soundbooth. But soundbooth also keeps shutting down...
Please help me, i need this software for school.

Nicholas.I am having similar problems on the Mac computers in our lab. I have found that the error does not appear in administrator accounts only on the standard user accounts. That makes me think that maybe Premiere might be looking at some file that my users accounts don't have acces to. It is a fresh install of CS3 onto OSX 10.6.2 What files is Premiere looking at when its trying to load the ASIO driver? Any help would be appreciated. At this point making the standard user administrators is not an option.

Hello.
I have a couple hundred W2K workstations running Client 32 4.9 SP2 with
ZENworks 3.2 SP3 client pieces (workstation manager, remote manager).
I am pushing Client 32 4.91 SP1 out to a few test computers via ZENworks
3.2 SP3. Users are "locked down" (are not Administrator equivalent nor
Power Users) or have Administrator equivalence) . Only 1 computer had a
problem thus far, which the user had Administrator equivalence. The error
message is as follows:
Window is labeled "NICI U.S./Worldwide (128 bit)":
"The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed. The system
cannot find the path specified."
I clicked OK and another window appeared:
"There was an error installing Novell International Cryptographic
Infrastructure (NICI).
Error Code: "
Client 32 installs, but not completely because of this.
I verified that IKernel.exe existed under
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\engine\6\Intel 32", and had
the proper permissions (I compared against my workstation and the one that
failed).
I was able to run X:\C32491.SP1\WINNT\i386\nici\wcniciu0.exe (the network
path, or \\<my server>\SYS\Public\C32491.SP1\WINNT\i386\nici\wcni ciu0.exe)
(all objects have proper trustee assignments) and install NICI to the local
workstation fine as the admin-equivalent user.
Any clues for the error message and how to fix? I foresee more of these
issues if I roll this out - and that isn't good.

Problems with External Hard drive, will not mount and errors in disk utilit
i have a powerbook g4 aluminum. i have an external hard drive for it. a simple tech 100gig portable drive, almost brand new. i dont know what happened to it, but one day i was starting my computer up with it attached. it wounldnt fully start up, said "waiting for local disks" so i uplugged the external hard drive. now it wont mount and will only show up in the disk utility of my friends macbook. i tried to verify and repair, and this is the message i got.

Disconnecting the drive while your Powerbook was accessing it probably caused your problem. It may be repairable using DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro, but if you don't have access to one of those and aren't going to buy one, reformatting the drive with Disk Utility may be the only other way to make it usable again. If it contains data you need to recover first (i.e., data that isn't also stored on your internal HD or other storage media), download the free demo version of one of the data recovery utilities mentioned in this thread and use it to see what is recoverable. If the files you need are recoverable, buy the full version of one of the utilities and recover them.

Windows 8.1 WDS Installation cannot continue because a required driver could not be installed.
When i try to deploy a custom Windows 8.1 Pro Image Via WDS I get the above error. I have enabled Client side logging and checked WDS logs and install logs on the failed installation (Shift+F10). I don't think the issue is a matter of the drivers that are
included in the boot image. If it were a network card issue i would not be able to get the WINPE on the network and start the install. Second i don't think its a storage driver issue, WINPE has formatted the Drive as one may see in (Shift F10) DISKPART.
If it were a storage driver, it would not see the drive and would not format. I am starting to thing that this may be a Windows 8/8.1 Kernel issue that i have found referenced in other forums.
That Said, I still injected my drivers into WDS then into my boot image, i was unable to do some drivers that were unsigned in WDS so i added them in DISM directly to the images. I forced the unsigned drivers so they could be added. I injected the drivers into
my install and boot image. and still nothing. I then went back and removed, via DISM, all third party drivers from my boot and install image and it's still giving me the error. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In addition, please confirm image file source, prevent capturing yourself or got from faulty image or installation media.
please make sure using right version Windows PE, extract Windows PE from Windows 8.1 installation media.
Check following precautions
First Signed device drivers are a key security feature in Windows. Drivers that are installed on x64-based computers must have a digital signature. If you're adding multiple drivers, you should create separate folders for each driver or driver category.
This makes sure that there are no conflicts when you add drivers that have the same file name.
Also, as a workarround Adding Device Drivers to an Offline Windows Image also is an option.
You could find setup logs from the client computer by referring to following article, and see which driver failed to install.

I upgraded my G580 (2689)to Windows 8 and had terrible trouble getting the wifi/bluetooth to work. I installed the driver 5.100.245.20 downloaded from Lenovo Support but it would not work at all. I went into the BIOS and reset to defaults and hey presto it began working! Strange really, as I had never been into the BIOS to alter anything. It may not work for everyone but must be worth a try eh?

I assume that you are trying to sync them from your computer's iTunes ? If so do the actual files exist on your computer and the entries in your computer's iTunes aren't pointing to files that no longer exist on it ? If so then you should be able to delete the iTunes entries and then re-download them from the store : re-downloading.
