2014.1.1 issues...

Ok well I followed the instructions to log in and log out of my account in Creative Cloud and it's showing this...
when I open up Adobe Edge 2014.1 (because that's the only option I have, ie my applications only show these...)
and I look in the "About Edge Animate" menu, I get this...
ie no 2014.1.1
and in the bottom left hand corner of 2014.1 I'm getting...
and so it takes me here
but once again I dont' have a dropdown menu to choose another version to download, all i have is a "Download Trial" button even though I've logged out and in again on this page.
Very frustrating!!!

Well that was frustrating so I apologise if that happens again with my login, I've now changed it to twisted_pancreas to better reflect my website name, ie twistedpancreas.com
But back to the original post, it now seems I can access the dropdown menu, but when I do it only has these options...
should there be a 2014.1.1 ? Because when I choose the 2014.1 (which I already have installed) it jumps to the Creative Cloud and does nothing and when I open Edge 2014.1 it's not 2014.1.1 it's still 2014.1 (sigh what a day).
And the weird thing is when I go to Help in Edge 2014.1 the updates menu link is greyed out.

Mid-2014 rMBP Display Issue

Last week, bought mid-2014 base model rMPB 13.3. Display was warm yellowish with greenish tint. Compared with store models, which all had cool blue. Replacement had same issue, so I asked for refund. Display looked worse than my late 2010 base model 13" MBA. Want to stay with Apple, but am concerned that all, if not most, of the mid-2014s have this defect. Can anyone corroborate?

MAC Mini late 2014 Sleep Wake issue

I just bought a MAC Mini late 2014 version with Yosemite pre-installed, and got a similar sleep wake problem.
It's connected to an ASUS IPS 27" screen using HDMI interface. When the Mac goes to sleep after 15 min, or when I press the button to force it to sleep.
If you type on the keyboard and the trackpad within 1 minute (before the screen also goes to sleep because of no HDMI signal), then the wake up will work.
If you wait till the screen goes to sleep also, then no matter how hard you pound on the keyboard or on the track pad, the MAC will not wake up.
The only way to wake it up is to power off the screen, then power it on again. Then type on the keyboard or move your track pad while doing that.
This is really annoying. I have to set to "Never" turn the display off to avoid this issue.
Called the Apple tech support who recommended I set up the energy saver like this below. But still could not fix the issue.
He told me to bring the Mac mini back to the shop to check.
I doubt it's a hardware issue. My theory is that this could be a software bug that somehow
the setting of "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" is not in effect even if you turned it on in the power saver preference.
So, when the computer goes to sleep, there is no more HDMI signal, then the screen also goes to sleep.
And if "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" is not in effect, then even if you type on the keyboard, the computer will not wake up as the screen is asleep. The screen will not wake up as no HDMI signal comes from the computer.
This turns into a viscious cycle, or a deadlock. Nobody is waking up.
This is simple logic. I don't know why systems are designed to work like that. Just too annoying....
I hope apple can fix this software bug asap.
I did try to convert my HDMI cable to min-display port and try to plug that into the thunderbolt port to see if it helps.
The same issue appears. The only difference is, with the HDMI port, once I am able to wake up the computer by power cycling my screen, i will see that I am prompted with a login screen, even if I set up my computer to auto login.
but when I use the display port, when I managed to wake up the MAC, it bypasses the login screen.

Some updates on this. I tried two other 22" screen. Both of the seems to be working fine with sleep wake, but takes between 40 sec to one min to wake up after you typed something.
Topcon hdmi 22" screen
17 sec after keystrokes to turn wake screen
40 sec to wake computer
AOC hdmi 22" screen
19 sec after keystrokes to turn wake screen
38 sec to wake computer
I tried to switch to two other HDMI cables to see if it'll improve the situation of my original ASUS VX279 IPS HDMI screen.
But it didn't. Still never wakes up after it the MAC goes to sleep until you power cycle the screen.
I guess there is some hardware compatibility issue here.
Let me bring my mac mini to the shop to see if a replacement will help.

After Effects CC 2014 Graphics Card Issues?

I just updated to After Effects CC 2014 the other day and have been having issues with it accepting my graphics card.
I worked with AE CC before this with this card and haven't had any issues. The program will not use the graphics card for any ray traced rendering. The error message that I get at startup of after effects says "Ray Tracing on the GPU requires an approved NVIDIA graphics card and CUDA 5.0 or later." I have CUDA 6.0.37 installed

Premiere CC 2014 - Magic Mouse issues?

I know most professionals might prefer not using Apple's Magic Mouse for professional applications, but I happen to kind-of like the mouse.
However, since using the latest version of Premiere CC 2014, I've noticed some very erratic behavior with the Magic Mouse. Click-dragging to move clips on my timeline doesn't always work. Sensitivity is delayed in zooming in on the timeline. Scrolling lags. Etc. etc.
Anyone else have any issues using the Magic Mouse? All my other non-Adobe applications seem to be working fine with this mouse, though I have notice some similar sensitivity issues with the mouse in Illustrator and InDesign.
I'm hoping there will just be a bug fix or something, as I've been having to resort to using a wired mouse, which is a clunky fix.

I discovered that what makes it not to work is simply the horizontal scroll of the "middle button". if you click, start draging a clip and your finger move of half of 1mm, then it just end the move there... same for rectangle selection !

I'm getting pain in the arm because I switch mouse all the time and they are obviously not the same speed and this change my work flow and lot of stuff ! This is a tiny problem causing huge problem !!

Edge 2014.1 Replay issues

The new version of Edge Animate 2014.1 does not properly reset all elements when replaying for my existing projects which I just upgraded for this version. I find that I have to do 2 things to resolve the issue which were not necessary before:
- add keyframes to the '0' position for all affected elements
- turn off all auto play symbols and manually add a 'play' trigger sometime after the '0' position

Can you please confirm the version number by going Help > About. The version should be listed as 2014.1.1.
If this is correct, then please share the composition with us. We will try at our end.

Illustrator CC 2014 UI strange issues

Hello and sorry for my bad english! I'm having strange issues with Illustrator CC 2014 UI. Here are my specs:
Core i7980x
24GB DDR3 ram
Asus P6tDeluxe Mobo
Asus GTX 680 4GB
I'll post a grab to show what it looks like. It happens randomly while i'm working. Latest GPU drivers are installed and GPU performance is turned off (On doesn't change anything).

Thank you so much for the reply ashtangakasha. I was thinking about a GPU driver issue, but i was in error, because i don't have the latest Nvidia driver installed. With new drivers the issue seem to be resolved.

That really doesn't fix anything. My computer is already scaled to 125%, and everything else is properly scaled. Here is a side by side on-screen comparison (CC on the left, CC 2014 on the right, and text scaled to 125%). I was annoyed at first that CC 2014 didn't update and replace CC, but now I'm glad, because until this issue is resolved I won't be using CC 2014.

Dreamweaver 2014 (Windows) SFTP issue

I am experiencing a frustrating problem with Dreamweaver 2014 build 6733. I have several SFTP websites that work fine. But I have two or three that won't connect claiming that I am giving invalid username or password. The thing is that the credentials work fine in WinSCP ftp package, but not in Dreamweaver or Filezilla. Furthermore the same credentials work fine on Dreamweaver on a Mac, but do not work on another windows machine with Dreamweaver 2014. Another interesting thing is that I have several SFTP accounts on the SAME IP address that work fine in Dreamweaver on my machine...I just have a couple that won't work. I don't know why.
I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas for troubleshooting this? I did talk to Adobe tech support about it but since they were able to connect on their machine they didn't really have any helpful suggestions.

Please try the steps mentioned below:
Launch DW CC 2014
Go to menu “Site -> Manage Sites”
Double click the Site in question to open the “Site setup” dialog for that site
Click “Servers” on the left, then select the server and click the “Delete Server” button
Click the “Add new Server” button and enter the details manually
Click “Save”, and then click “Save” again
Click “Done”
Check if you still face any issues. If you do, please let us know.

Pre Pro CC 2014 Cuda acceleration issue - it's back

Greetings. I remember reading an Adobe creative cloud blog that said we now would be able to choose Cuda acceleration even if our card was not on the very SHORT approved list of NVIDIA cards. That was great!!! Worked fine with Pr Pro CC (the original) and all updates!
Now Pr Pro CC2014 (or 8.0 or whatever we are calling it) comes along. And after starting up (and having to re-set all of my preferences, etc.....why can't these be imported like photoshop does?) Anyway....getting ready to edit and bam. Software-only acceleration is selected, grayed out and no choice. Now this worked just fine with Creative cloud. In fact, opening up CC projects that WERE hardware accelerated now say they are not in CC2014. This is a non-starter for me.
I have seen complaints but no real solutions or explanations from Adobe. Are we back to CS6 days of editing a text file etc?
Very frustrating....going back to old cloud version for my work today..
O yes, running a GTX560. Which again worked fine with CS6, and CC 7.0.

Thanks for getting back to me.
Sigh.....I didn't realize I was one patch behind. Updated and it now says I have to update my video card drivers to get accelerated GPU. I'll do that and check back....... It's just I was starting to trust the CC patches, installing them more often then I ever would have before. But if a patch can cause a major interruption to workflow, can't really do that. Or, perhaps as a suggestion, the patch instructions should say something like "CC2014 will require a more current driver to continue using GPU acceleration"?
I'll post back after I update drivers and try acceleration again.

SQL server 2014 DB creation issue

I have created VM (windows server 2012) which is installed with SQL server 2014 standard version from gallery. when I tried to create a DB in SQL server it is taking too much time (more than half an hour it will be in the executing state) to create. so I
restarted SQL server and finally deleted the VM and created new one but no luck, the problem remains the same.
please help me to resolve this.

Naveen you need to show us the query you ran to create Database. If you scripted out Database script from some other huge database it would have huge initial size and it would take time for SQL Server to get thoes space plus instant file initialization
also comes into picture. If that is missing it would again take too much time

I have this question, too. I was advised by someone at Mac App store to purchase OS Lion 10.7 for $ 19.99 which I did. Only to find out after the purchase and download that I only had 1 GB and needed at least 2 to use Lion. Now Apple refuses to credit my account for the $19.99 charge sending me some sort of coupon, but cannot be used to purchase the ram needed for my IMac. nor when I do increase the ram, I would not be able to re-purchase Lion.
I was wondering about Maverick or Yosemite on the older IMac. They are free. Don't understand why the older versions are not free, also. I have Yosemite on my MacBook Pro and like it very much.

Photoshop CC 2014 file save issue on OS X Server 2.21

Before we start, I do know that Adobe doesn't officially support saving files to a file server.
However on CC2014 sometimes when we save files they disappear and we are left with a temporary file in the
directory.
Wondering if anyone else has seen these issues?

I had a copy of the older Server on a backup drive, where I keep the system installers and Server installers just in case.
I zipped Server on the backup and removed the original and immediately the update went away.
So because spotlight indexes all the drives it was finding the old version on my external RAID and thinking it needed updating

Photoshop cc 2014 file size issue

I just noticed this happening last night and continues today. When converting raw images from my Canon 5D Mark III in camera raw into the updated PS CC 2014, my file sizes show as half the amount they are supposed to. When viewing the info on a TIFF file that is supposed to read 66mb, it shows as 33mb both on the finder, external drive and in Bridge. However, when opening back up in PS CC 2014, it reads correctly while in the program. I just opened the same Raw file (s) in the older PS CC and it comes out perfectly as it should. Anyone else running into this with the latest update of PS CC 2014?

Check your ACR workflow options they may be interpolating your images.

Open System Preferences > Sound then select the Output tab.
Make sure you have the correct device selected.
