2014 iMac becomes unusable when photos are loaded.
My '2014 27" 3TB with fusion drive iMac' becomes unusable if I load a few photos or video. Apple support talked me through a system restore which I did and it worked fine afterwards but as soon as I load any pics again it becomes unresponsive. As an example Safari, mail, iphoto etc take at least a couple of minutes to open and once in I get constant spinning wheel when trying to move around in an app. My iMac was sent away for repair after 6 months due to a screen failure that left me with coloured lines all over the display - perhaps that has something to do with it because it's never been the same since the repair.
Thanks for your reply and clear concise instruction. I'm sure it would usually take a few seconds to carry out but it's taken me nearly 20 minutes! It really is a painful experience (5mins to type these few lines!).

Open your iPhoto Library, go to that particular album and verify that you can view the full sized version of each image by double clicking on them. Report back with the results.

Syncing to iPhone 3GS - Freezes when Photos are synced, after 1st sync
Using iTunes 9.1.1.12 and iPhone 3GS 3.1.3.
When syncing, the sync freezes when Photos are included to be synced. It just hangs at the end of the sync process, and never completes.
If I don't include the Photos to be synced, it syncs fine.
If I then choose to re-sync the Photos and delete the folder: "iPod Photo Cache"... It re-syncs fine again (and places all photos on iPhone). But if I immediately sync again, without un-checking Photos to be synced, it hangs again at the end.
Please help.They are scaled down.

Our company recently purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for the purpose of using it for shared electronic reviews. We are using Send for Shared Review created in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, and all the Comment tools work as expectedexcept the paperclip in Annotations.
When a Word or Excel or Image(png,jpeg) file is attached using the Annotations paperclip, the initiator can initially see and open it. But after Publish Comments is selected and the review file is closed, the file "Name" changes to "Unknown" (although the Description has the correct file name and extension). The Modified information is Unknown, as is the Size and Compressed Size.
When the review file is then re-opened, even the initiator cannot open the file, although:
The file location is marked with the paperclip within the document.
The file name is shown in the Comments List with the initiator's name.
In the Attachments list (the paperclip beneath the Thumbnails and Bookmarks) the Name appears as Unknown, Description shows the file name, Modified is Unknown, Size is Unknown, and Compressed Size is Unknown.
The file Name cannot be edited, although the file Description can be.
We have followed the procedure described in the tutorials but cannot figure out how to troubleshoot this situation. Since this feature was the reason for the purchase of Adobe Acrobat Pro IX, we would any help. Please don't leave out any basics since we are all new users.
We have several people with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and the rest have Adobe Reader XI and it is a Windows platform. Can someone please give us some advice how to get this feature to work as described?FYI Rave,

Are previews deleted when photos are deleted?
After being confused for a while (as I'm sure many are) about not being able to delete photos from my memory card from Lightroom, I am trying to get into a "correct" workflow which I believe involves formatting the card when I have saved and backed up the images on it. So far I've come to this:
0) Start with an empty memory card and take photos with my camera
1) Import all photos, selecting to create 1:1 previews
2) Look through the imported photos, marking the ones I never want to look at again as Rejected
3) Delete Rejected photos
4) Backup everything that is left
5) Format memory card
This seems to work, but I just want to make sure that the 1:1 previews created during the import of the photos that I Reject are deleted at the same time as the Rejected photos are deleted, so that they are not part of the backup step. Is this the case?
Also, are there any other problems with this workflow?

DavidPreviews should not be in the same folder hierarchy as the actual images.
With regards to rejecting photos, there are pros and cons to each approach. I just import everything.
I don't know if previews are deleted immediately when the image is deleted, I don't worry about it, I have never had a need to see whether a particular preview exists in the preview cache, so actually I don't know the answer. Why does it matter? Is your disk so close to being full that you are worried about it? that's the only possible reason I can think of to worry about what exists and doesn't exist in the previews cache, and since Lightroom does a very good job of managing these preview files so the human user doesn't have to, I would recommend you not worry about it. There's enough to do managing your actual images so my advice is to not worry about what is and is not in the preview cache. -
What is saved in the iPhoto library file when photos are backed up?
I have been using an external hard drive to back up my Mac files. My Mac stopped working, so now I have a PC netbook. I am trying to get some photo files off my external hard drive, but I can't find the ones I want. Instead, I found the iPhoto library files. What is in those? How can I open them? If I open them on my friend's Mac, will it hurt her files?
Assuming you had a managed Library the iPhoto Library will contain your photos, and many databse files.
You photos are in the Originals folder.
No, they won;t hurt your friend's Mac.
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' to choose which Library to open.

How to handle the master data when we are loading the from multiple clients

We are loading HR data from two different clients 101 and 102 of same source system.
Here we are facing the problem with msater data maintenance for employee in BW, whose employee numbers are same.
For example client 101 employee range is 10001 to 10100.
In client 102 also same employee range.Then how to handle the above scenario
Is there any solutions apart from compounding of infoobjets with logical system.

Load one client master data to the copied object.
Example:
1. Create ZEMPLOYEE copy of 0EMPLOYEE.
2. create the transformation or rules
3. You have to follow same for remaining objects

GPS EXIF data removed when photos are synced to iPhone?
I have manually added GPS EXIF metadata to photos that were taken by an old camera.
After I synced these photos with iTunes for Win 11.3 to my iPhone all location data was gone.
Is this a known issue?
Your help is much appreciated!Nobody knows the answer? Yours was the third question like this I found by searching, yet none have been answered. I get the same results using Picasa. Once the photos are synced back to the iPhone, orientation is lost. Friends looking at the pictures on my iPhone have to keep rotating the device, cocking their head, or both. Some advanced device, that is!

I7 Fully loaded iMac becoming unusable slow apps not responding with Mavericks
Very frustrating. My 2012 iMac with an i7/16Gig memory is crawling with Mavericks. It didn't start out that way, but it's almost unusable now. I will get a few minutes of seeming to work fine, then periods of long lasting slowness. Evening typing an email will have a delay where typing will not come out as I am typing it for a few seconds, then it all bursts out. Simple interactions get spinning beach balls from 5-45 seconds. The activity monitor shows nothing taking any particularly large amount of processor load, memory pressure and status is all green & good. Some disk activity but nothing that should account for the lags. Loading applications, the system grinds to being unresponsive. Adobe applications and running aperture have delays in activity from 5-60 seconds in simple interaction. The activity monitor then shows several of the larger apps (iTunes, Aperture, Premiere Pro) as Application Not Responding. It can take from to 30 seconds (if Im lucky) to several minutes for the system to become responsive again. Sometimes it never does.
I have run DiskUtility /repair permissions several times with no real results. There are documented issues with Finder being slow to pull up files and directories. I ran the fix for that as well as the slow restart/bootup issues documented. Those fixes made a difference but not with the overall issue of the system just grinding to a halt.
Has anyone else seen this, any suggestions on what to do to fix it? Im spending more time fighting the computer than getting my work done.Very frustrating. Unable to synch iPhoto when photos are another user's

I've had Apple TV for a few months and am unable to figure out how to synch an iPhoto library to our Apple TV. The problem is that the pictures are contained in an iPhoto library from another user on the same computer - my wife has all our pictures on her side of our iMac and I am unable to select her iPhoto library (inside of iTunes on my side of the computer) to synch our pictures to Apple TV (her iPhoto library is grayed out when I navigate to the folder). I have checked all folder permissions and sharing and it seems to be ok for me to edit/view, any thoughts?

Only thing to do would be to either add the photos to your iPhoto library or set up your wife's iTunes as a Shared library for AppleTV and when her account is active you could then Stream photos but not sync them. -
IPhoto sort order changes on iPad/iPhone when photos are edited
I have been having issues getting photos to display in the correct order on my iPad, iPhone and Apple TV. When I go into an event I want the first photo taken to be at the top and the last at the bottom. I sort by date so that photos taken on different cameras at the same event appear in chronological order and this works very well in iPhoto on my Mac. There is a problem when I sync to my devices though. Sometimes the order on my devices is the same as in iPhoto on my Mac and other times it is not. A recent software update seems to have cured the major issue, but created another. After some experimentation I have discovered that editing a photo changes its position in the sort, even if the adjustment has nothing to do with the date.
I picked a sample event and adjusted the contrast of the first photo. There was no change to sort order on the Mac. I hit sync in iTunes and the photo now displays last on my iPhone. Go back into iPhoto, click on "Revert to Original", sync iTunes again and the photo now displays first again. Seems like a bug to me.I also have have the same issue and have been on the phone with Apple Care....not much help I'm afraid although I do believe something is broken and requires a fix. Here is what I have found (all software up to date and latest OS BTW)....I have sorted all my pictures by Date, if I want to add a straggler I just alter the original date and all is well within the event. I then "batch change" the event to the tile and event name. So the pictures in the event are named " Holiday 2012 1-xxx. Again, all is well in iPhoto but when sent to an iPad or Apple TV the sort is as siwilson mentioned above. I just discovered a temp work around for events with less than 1000 pictures, if I sort by Title I can get them to show correctly on the ATV and iPad. Now what was/is interesting is somethimes they would sort correct and sometimes not. It turns out that if you sort the event by Title and quit iPhoto and reopen it....it has reverted back to sort by Date. It does that everytime. So what I do is turn home sharing off in iTunes (forces it to look at the photos again), open an iPhoto event and sort by Title. Then I turn home sharing on in iTunes (leaving iPhoto open) and sync my iPad. If I want ot stream photos to my ATV I must leave iPhoto open so the sort remains as I set it. If I want to retain the correct sort this is what I need to do each time. So this is a bandage for me until they fix things. One final about pictures over 1000.....it sorts them as mentioned above with another twist, numbering goes 0001, 1000, 1001, 1002 etc. @#$% why can't they just sort the way iPhoto presents them?

Need buttons on base movie to become inactive when external movie loaded

I am working on a portfolio website and I have all my navigation with buttons linking to other pages, on the base level. All the buttons are scattered around the stage and when one of these buttons is clicked an external movie is loaded in the centre of the page.
The movie is a big white box with a slideshow of images from my portfolio in the centre of the stage.
My problem is that the buttons on the base level are easily clicked by accident, even though you cant see them with the white box.
Is there anyway I can stop the base movie clip working, once a button is clicked? When the user has finished looking at my slideshow images then they press a close button.

Now, in the function where you call the loadMovie method (it's on the main timeline, right) just write:

It should work if I didn't bug anything.
