2014 PS Resolutions

Ask Adobe forum folks to please remove the "Exceptional Contributor" space on the right side of the browser window. No offense to our current holder of the honor but it's been the same through how many updates of this web site? I'd think Mr. G. is probably feeling a bit embarrassed with all the attention. Use the space for more useful information please. – Done.
Stop b**ching about CC and subscribe willya. OK, OK for 10 bux a month I could at least try Photoshop CC, maybe I could sublet Lightroom to my kid for 5 of that. – Done! (It will be interesting to see if Adobe’s fixed the navigation bugs they built into CS6 with CC and I still miss the red 'X' from CS5 and still don't like the ‘new and improved’ crop tool.)
Ping Noel about that SSD raid he’s running. Prices are falling on those things to the point where I might bite on a couple for my home workstation.
Happy New Year!

  • Display resolution for 2014 MBP?

How do you adjust the display resolution to the "native" 2880 x 1800 on a mid 2014, 15 inch rMBP with NVIDIA Graphics?
    I can not obtain a resolution above 1920 x1200.

    Hello there, pf2555.
When adjusting resolution for your MacBook Pro Retina, the following Knowledge Base article offers some information on that regard:
Frequently asked questions about using a Retina display - Apple Support
How do I adjust the resolution of my Retina display?
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012 and later) displays have a 2560-by-1600 native resolution at 227 pixels per inch with support for millions of colors.
MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) and MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013 and later) displays have a 2880-by-1800 native resolution at 220 pixels per inch with support for millions of colors.
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) displays have a 5120-by-2880 native resolution with support for millions of colors.
If you need to adjust the display resolution, choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu. The Retina display offers scaled resolutions that allow you to have text and objects appear larger on screen, or to make them appear smaller which provides more space on screen.  Note: Scaled resolutions do not offer the same visual quality as the Retina setting. Scaled resolutions may also impact graphics performance depending on which applications you are using.
MacBook Pro with Retina display (13-inch) scaled resolution choices
MacBook Pro with Retina display (15-inch) scaled resolution choices
iMac (Retina 5k, 27-inch, Late 2014) scaled resolution choices
Retina displays only use scaled resolutions rather than specific resolution settings like external displays. If you need to use a different resolution than those available on the built-in display, consider attaching an external display via HDMI or Thunderbolt.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Serious resolution issues with After Effects CC (2014) on Windows 8.1 Pro on Dell Precision M3800 laptop??

My new company installed Adobe Creative Cloud (There was some annoying Proxy issues at first, because of the seriously tight I.T policies) but we are having some serious resolution issues with After Effects CC 2014 (also have this resolution problem with Adobe Premiere, Media Encoder, Muse) on Windows 8.1 Pro on a Dell Precision M3800 laptop with icons and interface looking too small and hard to see, is there a fix, an update or a work around, can anyone help?
    Any help will be appreciated!
    k.regards
    Ramon

Hi Todd is there a time-frame for this fix, there is a lot of pressure on me, because I convinced my company to get the Creative Cloud and quite a lot of the CC software is not compatible with the latest Windows 8.1 OS.
Is there at least a work around, until this big fix comes along?
    k.regards

  • New X1 Carbon 2014 + Onelink Pro dock + 30inch monitor: no native resolution

    X1 Carbon 2014 model
    Onelink Pro dock
Dell U3011 30 inch monitor (native resolution: 2560x1600), connected to displayport on Onelink pro dock
    Installed Ubuntu 14.04 (beta)
Max resolution on U3011 I can get is 1920x1440 right now.
Tried on Win 8.1 pro (dual boot), works perfectly.
Tried the mini displayport on X1, works perfectly as well.
    Any pointers?

    > the X1 Carbon Gen 2 with windows 8 doesn't have custom charge threshold option.
Assuming the OP is using Win8. Some X12C models ship with Win7 or are "down"gradable to it.

  • Whats the maximum resolution resolution supported @ 60 Hz on an external display for mid 2014 macbook pro retina 13 inch ?

whats the maximum resolution supported @ 60 Hz on an external display for mid 2014 macbook pro retina 13 inch ?

I don't know where you found 1920x1080, but that isn't the max. The INTERNAL display can even support more than that.
The maximum resolution is really hardware based, and since Thunderbolt 2 has a Mini displayport connector (Mini Displayport 1.2), the max resolution for Mini Displayport is 4k (3840x2160).
PLEASE NOTE: Not all adapters can support that resolution, most monitors that can run 4k @60Hz have Displayport 1.2 (The most recent revision), Mini Displayport 1.2, and HDMI 2.0. DVI dual link can run 4k, but only 24-30Hz, depending on the monitor.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Workaround for slow performance and poor resolution with RED R3D files in After Effects CC 2014 (13.0)

    http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2014/06/red-r3d-problems-after-effects-cc-2014-13-0.ht ml
The After Effects team are investigating a bug in After Effects CC 2104 (13.0) where RED (.R3D) files are very slow and the image resolution is poor, about 1/8 sampling.
The following workaround has been reported to solve the problems in some cases:
    Save the project.
Choose Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache.
Please post in this thread about whether or not this workaround helped you.

Intentionally cross-linking threads: this issue was first reported in this thread, which has an ongoing discussion:
AE 2014CC RED R3D files support broken - footages looks bad, everything slow.
The thread you are in now is the comment thread for the blog post. Please post in whichever thread makes more sense for you. I am monitoring both.

  • Low Resolution incoming MMS 2014 Moto X

Im having an issue on on my 2014 Moto X running Android 5.0, no matter what messaging app I use incoming MMS are less than 30kb but I can send at the normal 700kb. <30kb is an extremely unusable resolution. Factory reset my phone and tried Verizon messaging plus which worked for one incoming MMS but subsequent messages were back to <30kb, and multiple resets later Ive gotten no inprovement. Went into a Verizon store and checked my APN settings against different phones which were identical. Verizon employees had no explanation either. Not sure if its a Verizon issue or Motorola issue but needs to be fixed.  Also note I've tried both in and off WiFi

Thank you for clarifying.  It sounds like at this point we've completed all troubleshooting possible with your device.  It may very well be a software issue that may be fixed with Motorola's next software update.  We may be able to look into the manufacturer's warranty if you'd like an immediate resolution. Is the device is free of physical or water damage?

  • CC 2014 in low resolution ?

the old CC version has a normal relolution but the new CC 2014 is in a low resolution. I cannot find wher to change that. I deletede the version and reinstalled but it stays the same.

It sounds like you have Set
Preferences > Experimental features > Scale UI to 200%
If that is not what you are referring to, can you give more detail please?

  • Illustrator CC 2014 documents won't go full screen (and the UI is extremely low resolution)

Illustrator CC 2014 does not seem to be running correctly.  My documents will not go full screen.  As you can see, there is a huge white gap surrounding the entire document.  I cannot grab the corners or sides to stretch it to full width.  On top of this, the whole interface is blown up and looks very low resolution.
Compare this to a screen shot of the previous version on the same computer:
The document will expand to the full width available and the the UI looks much better.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  I am using Windows 8.1

Since you still haven't got your data from the drive(s). I would advise performing a Windows installation without formatting the drive... I don't like this solution but at this stage you have probably tried everything else.
Use a Windows 7 Reinstallation DVD when installing ensure you select...
Select Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)
If you do not select any of the drive options and simply highlight the largest partition and select next:
Windows will dump all the old installation files in the Windows.old folder

  • Help?! Playback Resolution error on Premiere CC 2014

I recently upgraded to new release of Adobe CC 2014.
I have a sequence set at 1080P AppleProRes 422 HQ. I currently have a mixture of 4k footage and 1080p footage. When I set my program window to playback resolution to 1/2, the program window magnifies the image 200% involuntarily on playback.
When the playback stops it reverts back to full frame. This only happens when playing back 4k footage. The footage is clean - no plug ins - filters etc.
Can this be a bug? Thoughts?
    Thanks

    Mac Cylinder - 3.5 GHZ 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 - 32GB 1867 MHZ DDR3
    AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB

I upgrade this post with more tests i've done:
I've tried a timeline with a separated workstation, completely isolated and a local storage.
An iMac 27", core i7 and 8 GB Ram.
I've placed a timeline 1920x1080 p50 and tested with multiple Operative systems.
The Ram consumption is the same on both Mac OS 10.9.5, 10.10, and 10.10.1 while it's slightly better on 10.10.2.
Is it possible no one ever noticed this issue, or i'm missing something?

  • Mac Mini 2014 4k display 60Hz max resolution

    Hello,
I can read in the infos for the new iMac 2014 that is possible to use 2 x 27" Apple Displays over thunderbolt.
My question is, what is the max resolution what you can use with one Display.
Is it possible to use a  Mac Mini with a LG 34UC97  with a resolution 3.440 x 1.440 60Hz with thunderbolt.
The HDMI supports only 30 Hz.
    Thx
    Jayybird

you can be right, not officially, but for now:
"On a late 2013 13" MBP/Retina, using SwitchResX, I was able to get the ASUS PB287Q to drive 4K (1920x1060 pixel-doubled "HiDPI") at 45Hz, rather than the max 30Hz offered through the standard Display Prefs pane.
Here's how: I created a custom resolution by copying the 1920x1060 HiDPI 30Hz, and then set its vertical sync to 45Hz (and rebooted as required by SwitchResX). The 45Hz refresh rate is now available in the Display Prefs control panel, and the ASUS OSD confirms we are operating at 45Hz.
Before getting 45 to work, I also tried 50 - but even after reboot it was marked as "invalid" so I suppose I'm maxed out.
45Hz isn't 60, but it is much better than 30."

  • Photoshop 2014 cant remember higher resolution

At first, sorry about my bad english...
    In Photoshop CC.
I do scale my photoshop "cc" to fit my double monitors.
When I close it. Restart it
Nice. Photoshop still perfect fitting my double mointors.
But when I change to Photoshop 2014 CC.
When I scale it to fit my double monitors.
It didnt remember what the position and size is.
That give me really huge problem.
    Launch Photoshop 2014 CC
    I need to re-scale it.
and my workspace will broken just because the Photoshop change to the normal size
    (normal size :
    left: 43
    top: 27
    width: 1296
    height: 810
    (Perfect fitting
    0     0     2800     900
    Sorry about my english again.
If the one who wanna help me and can not understand what I am talking about.
I'll edit my question to make you "understood"

    Sorry. im so dumb !
I noticed the part you saying "keeping it windowed"
    I did solved the problem.
The 2014 version need scale to "perfect" size and pos
    left: -1360
    top: 0
    width: 2800
    height: 900
I think 2014 CC limited the resolution of photoshop.
if I change it to :
    left: -1360
    top: 0
    width: 2801
    height: 900
    When I restart it.
It will restore to native resolution.
But I still have one suggestion
Adobe can remove the limit of photoshop.
    sometime ~ someone ~ need "borderless-like" workspace
So I useing follow close script for my photoshop now
    *:: ;destruct
    IfWinActive,ahk_class Photoshop
    {WinMove,...nativeSP
    WinClose,...focusin'
    Exit
Launched photoshop then scale it to "perfectSP"
    Thanks for your answering !

  • Pathetic service, Bought on 17th May 2014 and within 13 days have so many problems but no resolution

I have bought Xperia Z2 on 17th May 2014 and have to visit service center situated in sector 18 Noida (Ambe electronics) on 26th May 2014 as my phone was getting heated up and restarting automatically, battery was draining and camera was not working, at the service center I was told that its just a matter of software update and it took 5 hrs to get things done at the service center, and the engg. at service center mentioned if the problem persists the phone would be put for replacement, on 31st May 2014 again I had to visit service center as same problem persisted and even internet stopped working. On receipt of my phone at service center they said we will keep it and update you the status on Tuesday we will call you to tell the problem. My question is if they mentioned it has to be replaced then same should be done rather that they again checking it for 2 days and confirming me the same.Worst part is service center doesn't have a manager whom we can talk to to get things fastened up and the staff at the service center is pathetic they don't know how to deal with customers. Biggest challenge is I have invested nearly 50K on the phone but within 13 days of purchase I have already made 2 visits to the service center and still don't know about my phone's status. Need Sony India to look into it and get the matter resolved on priority, we are buying Sony because of the brand and quality and not to make our own life miserable.
