2014 Video Usage Bug?

I just updated to version 2014.0 / 8.0.0
Win 7 Pro
I frequently use the Video Usage feature in the project window by clicking on the arrow next to the number of instances shown to locate all instances of a clip in a sequence(s).
Since updating to the new version, when I click on the arrow nothing happens. Has this feature been removed or is it s bug? I certainly hope it has not been removed, I rely heavily on this feature.

I added before / after images of each version.

Hi Bill Gehrke,
This issue has already been reported and it works if you click little away from the drop down arrow on the right.

  • PP CC 2014 & Memory RAM - BUG?

    Hello Everyone
I have some problems with PP CC 2014 that were not previously
One. Problem of memory after a few hours the computer's memory jumps gradually to a maximum 16G
Two. 'Auto Save' to Cloud does NOT work - I get a message that I need to install CC desktop, which obviously I have this app.
Three. Subclip dragged the bin window with just sound, or should do so with the addition of a button Control
(Not like it was in CS6 example)
Four. Sorting files by date, again does not work, even in the last CC that did not work. (in CS6 also worked)
    Anyone else having these bugs?

Yes definitely I will try to explain
About 1, it really happens after two \ three hours of continuous work
About 4: When I import files to the BIN window, I can sort them by name, LABEL, VIDEO USAGE etc..
And an option to sort the shots by date. (creation date)
The CC shredders this action does not work at all

  • Video usage in project window

Hi - I used to like the columns for video usage and audio usage in the project window in PPro 1.5 - in CS3 they're gone - anyone know if there's a way of getting them back?
    Billy

On the flyout menu of the project panel, choose "Edit columns..."

  • Video Usage column

    I'm using PE10 on a two-year-old iMac computer.
I'm currently working on a large video project using lots of photos and video clips organised into a number of folders.
I've just notiiced that all but the folders i've used most recently have suddenly stopped showing any numbers in the Video Usage and Audio Usage column.  This means that I have to rely on my memory to tell me what media I've used.  In a project this size - and with my memory - that's difficult.
I don't know how why this information has disappeared (I just hope it doesn't cause a problem when I archive the finished project).  More immediately, I'm wondering if there's any way of restoring this information.
If anyone has any ideas - thanks!

    Chrisdad
What we talking about in the way of numbers already showing in the Project Media List View Video Usage column number....10, 200, more for a given file? It seems to take value at least to 2000...have not tried further.
If you are doing a copy/paste involving a large number of duplicates, the change of number in the VIdeo Usage column can be slow. Often clicking on the panel for the file involved or another updates the number.
I am strictly an Elements Windows user, but I am thinking, if all else fails, flushing the preferences might be worth a try. In Windows, one can do that by deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file. If a Premiere Elements Mac user does not come up with the route, I will search it out.

  • Premier Pro CC 2014 - Apply Video Transition Bug

When you add a Apply Video Transition, it doesn't use the current video I have been editing, it uses what was there.  In other words say, I remove some video I don't want and then I Apply Video Transition to the end cut I just made and then you have a new begin of a piece of video.  It's still using what I had there before.  It should be using what I have now not what was there.
    Thanks,
    Kenneth

Right click on either one of the two nested sequences - Right Small or Left Small, and from the drop down menu, choose Render and Replace.
    Does that help?

  • No AAC audio in Premiere CC 2014.1? [bug - resolved]

    --- Original post for reference
I just updated to Premiere CC 2014.1 today.
I have a set of files that I regularly convert with Handbrake into MP4s with an AAC audio stream. I have had no problems at all with CS6, CC, and CC 2014. But now with CC 2014.1, I get no audio when I import the mp4 files.
The Project window says it is a "Video" file, not a "Movie" file. The associated icon in the Project window is also missing the waveform on it.
When I drag it onto the timeline, only the video track appears, as you'd expect. The video alone appears to play back correctly.
Restarting PP CC 2014.1 did not do anything.
I loaded up PP CS6 and imported the exact same MP4 file and it works as expected. Windows Media Player has no problem playing the video file with audio either.
What changed between CC 2014 and CC 2014.1 that could have caused this?

Reason: there is no Premiere Pro CC 2014.2, you probably mean 2014.1. If not, please PM me.

    Hi wired.au,
    Thanks for this solution.

OK ... after I finished my post below about how PP CC 2014.1 would not recognize the mono AAC audio track from my MP4s, I decided to produce the same MP4 again with Handbrake, with a stereo audio track instead.
It worked. After loading the stereo MP4, I reimported the original mono MP4 that didn't work (without restarting premiere or anything) and the mono audio is now recognized. Looks like there was a strange bug with Premiere Pro CC 2014.1 and mono AAC audio tracks, which got resolved after importing an MP4 with a stereo AAC track for the first time.
I thought I should leave this here just in case anyone else encounters the same thing.

  • Configurator panels cause 100% CPU usage bug

I'm not sure where to file a bug report, so I am posting this here for now. Has any one else noticed this? (See attached video)

I just tried copying and pasting the script from the "Basic Attributes" section of Configurator:
    ErrStrs = {}; ErrStrs.USER_CANCELLED=localize("$$$/ScriptingSupport/Error/UserCancelled=User cancelled the operation"); try {var idCrvs = charIDToTypeID( "Crvs" ); executeAction( idCrvs, undefined, DialogModes.ALL );} catch(e){if (e.toString().indexOf(ErrStrs.USER_CANCELLED)!=-1) {;} else{alert(localize("$$$/ScriptingSupport/Error/CommandNotAvailable=The command is currently not available"));}}
and ran it in the Extend Script Tool kit, and NO cpu over usage. So its not the command it self.

  • Video Driver Bug?

Ever since installing Yosemite on my Late 2012, 27" iMac, Adobe Photoshop has caused problems when opening and saving large images. The time of trouble is inconsistent. Once it starts, I have to close and open Photoshop for it to go away.
What happens is the image I am working on will get randomly tiles as if a mosaic.
Chris Cox posted on Adobe's site that this is a known bug due to faulty video drivers in OS 10.10 Yosemite. That forum says turning off "Use Graphics Processor" in Photoshop > Preferences > Performance solves the problem. He said Apple is aware of the problem and is working on a fix. That was posted December 3, 2014, two months ago.
I did that, now the magnifying glass works the way it did about three versions ago, and simple things like cloning have slowed down so that they are not in real time anymore.
Does anyone know? is this Apple's problem? If so, are they really working on it? Why is it taking so long?

kokoko3k wrote:Thank you for explaining, so i have to assume that the "on board" lcd panel is at fixed rate and the external one (through vga, it's a panasonic viera led/lcd) is not ?
Still the inconsistency between what xrandr reports and the real panel refresh is confusing me, and if the refresh isn't really changed, i can't explain the higher delay when switching to text tty.
Yes, the internal connection is known to be an LCD panel, whereas the VGA can be a CRT or an LCD.  In the case of an LCD on a VGA connector, the controller receives and decodes the video signal and recovers the data, whatever the timing and format.  Those data are then scaled to the native format of the LCD panel and are buffered in RAM.  The backend reads data from RAM and drives the panel in use at the rate, in the format it demands.
I cannot really speak to the inconsistency regard xrandr and the actual refresh rate.  I can envision some scenarios, but they would just be hypotheses.
One interesting thing about LCDs -- They don't flicker like CRTs.  LCDs shutters pretty much remain static from frame to frame, emitting light for the entire period.  CRTs only emit light from a pixel after it has been illuminated by the sweeping electron beam.  This is why it is possible to photograph LCD displays at arbitrary shutter speeds.  This does mitigate most of the need to drive the panel at one rate or the other.  The only real issue is that, in order to eliminate mid-field tearing by synchronizing to a non-native frame rate, requires dropping frames when going from 60->50Hz or doubling frames when going from 50->60Hz.

  • Premiere CC 2014 "Match Source" bug when exporting multiple clips

Getting a strange bug when trying to batch export.
The source clips are 4K MP4s. When exporting individually I use the Match Source button in the export dialogue and it correctly matches to the 4K frame size when sending to queue in Media Encoder.
If I select multiple clips and batch export them, selecting "Match Source" they come out as NTSC DV 29fps 720 x 480. The only way to work around this is to manually enter the frame values in Media Encoder after queuing.
Anyone come across this? Anyone at Adobe aware?

  • Wifi turns off after viewing 1 hour of 1.5 hour YouTube video (OS BUG?)

So I was watching this talk on YouTube on my iPhone 3GS. It is 1.5 hours long and I had just passed the 1 hour mark. I'm at home over my home wifi, which is very reliable. All of a sudden the video stops. I tap the screen and see that wifi is off and Edge is on, seeing the "E" where the wifi icon would be.
I had to stop the video by tapping on Done, going to the home screen, pressing the sleep button on and back again to come out of sleep, then wifi reconnects automatically, then went back to the same video and fast-forwarded to where it disconnected.
Wifi seems to have been disconnected after an hour of activity, by powering off the radio on the iPhone.
Could this be a possible bug in the OS?

I wouldn't consider your usage to be a problem. I also have a years' experience with the 3G and though battery usage wasn't as good as the original iPhone it was manageable. So, too, my experience with the 3Gs. I carry a couple of different extra, external batteries when I know I'm going to be out and about with the phone for an extended period, and it's plugged in when I'm at rest at home, or in the car. Judging by what you've posted I'm not sure there's anything wrong with your phone.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 critical display bug

    BUG REPORT
I use Windows 7 x64. I have a very powerful machine, 32GB blah blah blah
Using Photoshop CC 2014, while in cropping mode and attempting to zoom with keyboard CTRL+ and CTRL-, I got an error pop-up and a severely botched document display:

    My performance settings:  http://i.imgur.com/Sjvkd25.png
PS didn't crash. I simply clicked ok and it recovered. But it kept doing it while trying to crap. Though, it didn't prevent me from cropping.
This is the original image PS is trying to display: http://i.imgur.com/WqFS5sf.jpg

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 - Video playing faster than audio - Out Of Sync?

Hi All, It's been some time since I've had to write about any problems here. Sooo, I've got Adobe Premiere Pro CC 7.2.2.  (Using AJA KONA IoExpress BoB)   I've imported a 5 minute AVI file (video=1920x1080, Data=65587kbps, Total=66355kbps, 30fps. - - -  Audio=768kbps, Channels=Mono -and/or- Stereo, 48kHz)  from my Livestream HD-500 Digital Recorder as I have been doing successfully for some time now.. .   The video file plays just fine using windows media player but when I inport into a new project. The visual Video is out of sync. Seems like the Video is playing about 1/3rd faster then the normal audio.  Any thoughts? -  -  -  -  -  -  P.S. Here is a (520mb file) public link of a 1min.40sec. Clip using GoDaddy's FileFolder:
    https://files.secureserver.net/0suHs98nozqsKz
Here's a 20 second clip from last weeks trial-run-test using exact same configuration that worked just fine:
    Online Storage - Download File
    UPDATE - Problem Solved
So i got a call from AJA (the Manufacturer of my IoExpress Break out Box for Premiere)
    Here's the Scoop:
    1. When Programs "AutoUpgrade" it's common for some or all Settings to revert to their Default Settings.
    2. Adobe Premiere CC auto-upgraded yesterday when I wasn't looking... (paying attenion)
    3. In Premiere, Preferences>Playback>AudioDevice was reset back to "AdobeDesktopAudio".
    4. I reset the reset back to AJA KONA IoExpress, and WALLA! It Works Great!
I hope this post will help others stuck in this  seemingly unfixable situation.  My clients will be very happy today. :-)

Just for some reinforcement on this subject, these are the settings recommended by Aja for running their hardware in CC 2014:
Make sure you audio is configured like this:
    1. In your MacPro System Preferences:
Set the input for Line in.
Set the output for Built in.
    2. In your PremierePro Preferences:
Set the Audio Hardware for Built-in Output.
Set the Audio Output Mapping for Built-in Output.
Set the Playback for Audio Device on the KONA audio.
You will likely have to reboot after making any changes.
We are running Kona 3, 3G and I/O 4k systems and this basic setup is needed for all our systems or we have intermittent audio playback issues.

  • Managing video storage with iOS8 - video usage not showing

I've typically deleted video (iTunes tv shows) using manage storage/usage from General settings.  For some reason video data usage is not showing and I'm not aware of any other means of freeing up space. I'm not able to delete directly from video itself once data has been downloaded. Help!

    Message was edited by: vmclelland

    Hello vmclelland,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To delete videos from your iPad running iOS 8 please follow the steps below.
Delete a video from iPad. Tap Edit in the upper right of your collection, then tap on the video thumbnail. If you don’t see the Edit button, look for on your video thumbnails—those videos haven’t been downloaded to iPad, so you can’t delete them. To delete an individual episode of a series, tap the series, then swipe left on the episode in the Episodes list.
Deleting a video (other than a rented movie) from iPad doesn’t delete it from the iTunes library on your computer or from your purchased videos in iCloud, and you can sync the video or download it to iPad again later. If you don’t want to sync a deleted video back to iPad, set iTunes to not sync the video. See Sync with iTunes.
Important: If you delete a rented movie from iPad, it’s deleted permanently and cannot be transferred back to your computer.
    Add videos to your library
    Take care,
    Alex H.
