2014 X1C questions

I can't find the new X1C models in PSREF so I'm asking here:
1. The base non-Touch model comes with a 1600x900 TN panel. The upgrade to a 2560x1440 IPS panel costs $150. However the price difference between the non-Touch and Touch versions of the X1C is also $150 and the Touch version includes the 2560x1440 Multi-touch IPS in its base model configuration. Given that the price is the same, why would I want to buy the non-Touch model with IPS panel? It seems to me that even if I have no current plans to use the touch interface it's available for free so I might as well get it.
2. The sales configurator shows two 65W AC adapters, "65W AC Adapter - AG" and "65W Slim AC Adapter - US (2pin)." There is no difference in price. What is the difference between the two, i.e. why would I prefer one over the other?

So while very close, for the extra adapters I ordered the slim type, since the volume is smaller. I just received the slim adapters and I'm happy with the choice. I think they will pack better in a shoulder bag or briefcase.
If you do not need the RapidCharge function, the 45W adapter (like the T440s uses) is also an option.
Also note that the gigabit Ethernet adapter is proprietary and is not listed on Quick Pick. It is FRU # 04X6435 in case you want a spare or misplace it.

2014 X1C Touch trackpoint sensitivity uneven

Just received my 2014 X1C Touch. I'm noticing that the sensitivity on the trackpad is uneven.
When I "point" towards the Left or Down, it takes a lot of pressure while the mouse pointer moves very slowly. Moving to the Right and Up, feels normal -- i.e. right amount of pressure for right amount of speed.
Is there anyway the trackpoint can be calibrated?

I’m sorry to hear that Touchpad is having sensitivity issue in your Lenovo ThinkPad X1 carbon.
To reducing the touchpad sensitivity, go to control panel and open mouse option and in that check for UltraNav menu in that, you can check the below image for setting on that.
Please click here to change the touchpad sensitivity.
If you unable to find the UltraNav option in your system then touchpad driver is not installed in your system, you have to download the driver from Lenovo drivers page.

Adding third-party lumetri looks to SpeedGrade 2014, tutorial questions

Anyone know how to add third-party lumetri looks to SpeedGrade 2014 [Mac OS]?
I found the folder that contains the default styles that ship with SG, but do I just add the new ones in there? I'd rather have a new tab, but the only tab that I can add is a duplicate of the settings/looks tab that I already have...
I'm pretty new to SG, having only done a few projects, and am still feeling my way around. I'll bet this is a dumber-than-dumb questions, but can't seem to find the answer anywhere on the web.
Any help would be appreciated.
Plus, not to be picky, but all the tutorials I can find on using the colorwheels mode are from the CC version, and don't look anything like the ones in 2014. Suggestions for learning resources would be greatly appreciated.

Premiere Pro 2014 upgrade question

Heya.
So, a while back I upgraded Adobe Premiere Pro to Adobe Premiere Pro 2014. But when I did, instead of just upgraded I was given 2014 as a separate program and I still had the original. It didn't seem to affect anything, so I paid it no mind and just proceeded with 2014. Lately though, all my adobe programs are working for only 15~20 minutes before slowing down to a snails pace and then freezing all together. At first I thought it was my lack of free disc space, so I deleted enough junk to put me at 83GB. But the programs are still sluggish after only a little bit of use. So my question is: What will happen if I delete the original Adobe Premiere Pro (in order to make more space)? Will I still have 2014, or can it not exist on my computer without the original?

Separate installs, separate functionality. Uninstalling older versions will drag down shared components, though, and necessitate a reinstall of the other product. Won't fix anything for you, though, I can tell you that. Your system is most likely simply showing signs of wear like fragmented disks or temp folders filling up just as any update to Windows or a driver could interfere operations. Do some housekeeping and check your settings.

My HP, purchased in June 2012, died on Saturday. I was working in recently installed Photoshop, walked away from my computer to answer the phone and when I came back the screen was blank. When I turned it on, I got a Windows Error Recovery message. The computer was locked and wouldn't let me move the arrow keys up or down and hitting f8 didn't do anything.
I'm not happy with HP. Any suggestions?

MBP retina 13' 2014 trackpad question ("issue")

I bought this thing last B.friday and since day one (Mavericks. now Yosemite) when I move the cursor it takes like 0.5 seconds to respond causing a lag. After I first touch the trackpad, and this lag happend, everything works alright, the cursor moves flawlessly... the problem occurs only as soon as I move the cursor for the first time.
Hope this makes sence... any ideas? thanks in advance.

Virtualising a 2008 Server to DR site

Hope someone has an easy answer to this...!
I have a Windows 2008 SP2 server (physical) that houses a critical SQL database and Apache Server. What I want to do is have another server at a DR site with Server 2012 r2 preferably and have a Virtual machine setup that will replicate the Windows 2008
server. I want to do this without changing anything on the physical server now.
I have looked at Double Take availability but the target DR server has to be 2008 sp2 as well. I just want the simplest way to do this where if the 2008 source goes down they can continue working at the DR site if need be. What do you suggest?

Hyper-v replica is used for sync VM change to VM regularly .

It seems that you want to sync physical to VM residing at DR site .
As far as I know hyper-v can not do that .
If you need to P2V that physical server , you can try to use
Disk2VHD .
But I still suggest you to create a new VM then migrate these applications to VM if it is possible .
In addition , SCVMM 2012 sp1 can handle P2V operation too .

HT5891 os x mavericks and bootcamp for windows 7 64 bit

I am currently running Win 7 64-bit in Bootcamp on my OS X 10.8 and it works great. I am connected via fire wire to my old DELL 2007WFP Display and this is allowing my MacBook Pro Retina to really act as a workstation for Revit/Acad 2014. Questions: will Mavericks be compatible with my current Bootcamp setup? If not, what version of Bootcamp IS compatible? Will Mavericks preclude me from using my existing second display, as it looks like the mirroring is all wireless with this OS upgrade. Thanks!

Work Variance Incorrect in Project 2010

I have 2 projects with the same start date in the future. No work has been done on them. Each has the same following values, but the resulting work variance at the project summary (0) is different. The formula as I understand it : Work
Variance = Baseline Work (Actual Work - Remaining Work). Why the difference?
Work Variance (project 1) = zero; Work Variance (project 2) = 485
Baseline Work = (NULL)
Actual Work = zero
Remaining work = 485
We are running Project Server 2010, SP2, Patched to April 2014.

Two questions:
With those values, having a WV of 485 is correct.
1) Is the Calculation set to Off in the project that shows 0 hours? Force caluclate by hitting F9 and see if it changes anything.
2) Are you really looking at the project summary task? some times PMs create a task as the summary task for the project which is not task 0.

Where to Get Adobe premier CC 2013

With the update from CC to CC 2014 there were some engineering changes made to Premiere Pro that caused usability issues to occur with PluralEyes 2.
CC 2014 installs as a separate application from the previous CC version and if you have the previous Premiere Pro CC, PluralEyes 2 should work just fine. It will not work with CC 2014.
Question is where can i download this update she is talking about ?

HP g6-1b68nr NEED SYNAPTIC TOUCHPAD INFO

SYNAPTIC TOUCHPAD ADVICE FOR g6-1b68nr -- Laptops still function great! EXCEPT---
It's 3 yrs since I purchsed 2 exactly the same g6-1b68nr Pavilion Notebooks. One I used myself and it has SYNAPTIC TOUCHPAD functions intact; works great.
The other I just started using again (differnt house) but Synptics are missing even in the Search menu.
Looking for the right HP or other safe link, to reinstall software or maybe, all that's needed is Driver Update? Not sure.

How to get real fullscreen on Mac (Yosemite / Mavericks) ?

Hello all,
I got an 11" macbook air a little while back and until that Firefox always was my go to browser.
It seems that getting a real firefox fullscreen (with auto-hiding toolbars) on mac currently is either impossible or really hard. I did my research and tried things but couldn't get it to work for me... And this got to the point where it was "dealbreaker" for me for two reasons :
- On this small screen, the toolbars take a bit less than 10% of the area, which is quite a bit. Plus I really like to navigate fullscreen, I feel I can immerse way better in the websites with no toolbars (that sometimes are at high contrast with the page colors etc...)
- I'm developing a webpage-based psychology experiment that I want to be able to pass on this macbook air (at least for the first tests), and as it involves some immersion in the content, it would benefit from fullscreen.
So I switched to Chrome (which does this "real" fullscreen) for these reasons, but I generally prefer Firefox and would be glad to switch back if real fullscreen was an option. My question is, have you found a way for it to work ? If not, can this be turned into a feature request (is it relevant, how do I do that) ?

I'm currently on OS X 10.10.2, Firefox 37, but was also unable to get it to work back on OS X 10.9. Also it seems that this issue has been around for a long time, I would love to just have an option for the type of fullscreen I want, not having to rely on a temp fix (which I haven't found anyway)...

I use it for extra windows that aren't full screen that have a media player, so I do not want to open new tabs.
I also have a shortcut key (I use the code in PrefBar) to toggle the toolbox area on/off and can thus make the toolbars quickly appear.
If you can't hide toolbar on Mac in full screen mode then this could be a possibility.
I don't know if there are extensions for Mac that can hide (toggle) toolbar and possibly toggle the Tab bar.
If you change the selector then you can toggle individual toolbars instead of currently toggle the entire navigator toolbox.
