Today's release includes a major improvement to the file conversion process, clarifications for VAT-exclusive pricing, and enhancements to the shopping experience.
PDF Print-Ready File Normalization
A quick search of the internet reveals nearly 100 different tools an author can use to create a PDF file of their manuscript. Some are free, very basic converters while others are costly and feature-rich creation tools. The availability of so many tools to accomplish the same task results in PDF files of varying quality being uploaded and sent to our print partners.
With this release, we will begin analyzing and normalizing both interior and one-piece cover file uploads to detect errors in Print-Ready files during the book creation process. Analysis and file normalization will correct formatting errors in uploaded PDF files by automatically flattening layers, removing transparencies / hidden annotations, and correcting trim size. It will also identify and alert authors of problems such as low resolution images, unembedded fonts, and line art or fonts that are too small to print clearly.
As a result, authors will receive more useful information about their files when a problem is detected. Additionally, the resulting print-ready files will be created using a single standard resulting in higher quality printing.
VAT-Exclusive Pricing
We continue clarifying VAT-exclusive pricing on Lulu.com. In addition to seeing VAT-exclusive prices on a book's product page, shoppers will also see this messaging in search results and in the shopping cart. Authors will be made aware of VAT-Exclusive pricing when they set and/or modify their book's price.
Other Enhancements to Make Life Better
To reduce the number of shipping errors caused by incorrect State/Province entries, we removed the default value from this dropdown list in the shopping cart. Users must now choose a state or province to proceed to the next step.
When applying a coupon code or changing the quantity of books in the shopping cart, users may now either click the update buttons in the shopping cart or simply use the Enter key on their keyboard.

This release includes some great improvements to our module templates, new features for our email marketing system, admin interface improvements, a few infrastructure updates and lots of bug corrections.

Features and enhancements
Modules improvement
Starting with our September release, we have enabled users to use a html page or a static template as a module list template (layout) for all modules that are using templates today. The new addition allows partners to create different views for the same data for a personalize experience. To use this new functionality, just create a new module template and update your module properties by specifying the template to use.
Ex: {module_blogsitepost,2 template="/ModuleTemplates/Custom/MyTemplate.tpl"}
Note: although you can use any extension you feel comfortable with, we recommend using a .tpl extension for two reasons: help locate the template better and avoid having these templates being displayed in Page list.
Email marketing application improvements
This is release is packed with new features and enhancements to our email marketing system.
Dynamic modules in email campaign - you can include modules (a subset of 19 modules) in the Email Campaigns content; the system will render these modules right before the campaign is sent, making sure your customers always receive the latest content;
Fresh, new email templates - the release includes a set of new of new email templates that look much better; along with these new templates, the template selection page was re-done to show better thumbnails;
Improved recipients selection - we have improved the recipients wizard step, replacing the checkbox list with a smart search and select control; additionally, with this release you will be able to select multiple lists (including Customer Reports) to exclude from your campaign.
Improved campaign status screen - before sending the campaign, you will now be able to view the exact number of recipients before sending the campaign (Note: reports and list requiring a long time to compute will be approximated); additionally, while the campaign is sending, we are displaying a meaningful status, that indicates that the campaign is being sent.
Email clients reporting - the campaign report screen has also been improved to include a report showing you the email clients used to read your campaigns.
Admin console improvements
We have updated our new admin user interface and replaced the insert module and insert tag panels with the new Business Catalyst toolbox almost everywhere. With the new toolbox we'll make it easier for partners and business owners to insert and customize module or tags into pages, templates or system emails. The toolbox user interface will opened by default for partners for faster access to tags and modules.

Some FTP improvements (better error codes, performance, etc) and SFTP support
DNS improvements (support for setting up Google Apps email out of the box, several bug fixes)
When you change your email address on adobe.com, it syncs automatically with BC

Thanks Mario, what is missing from the post and this notification is a fundamental pieces of information "TIMES". This is not just your info but also the release by Jackson Palmer on the blog - totally missed there also
We need to be notified of the sceduled timing of this release not just a vague date which is not specific globally
25th but we are global - what time specifically 0100am PST is very different to 1030pm PST , the latter being 26th in AU
Why - because campaigns scheduled for around this time can be impacted, and also if the sites go offile during the maintenance window campaigns can be a wasted exercise.
Previously mid week schedules have been a matter of heated discussion, yet the support guys say that schedule ahas not been decided upon
Not planning is planning to fail, and we have witnessed that all to ofetn in the past. BC unfortunately has a history of failing to plan and inform, and this does little to activate confidence in the community.
I have discussed with Dragos on numerous occassion how the missing ingridents at BC like communication, UX, planning and most importantly understanding from the customer perspective (rather than backroom coders).
eg at 645am 26th of Sept 2012 we have a email campaign scheduled ( and can be rescheduled ), the issue I see is without your maintenance window timings being published in a timely manner how can we tell if we move to a sooner or later timing. You have to agree it is disasterious marketing to blast out a campaign and find systems down when customers open newsletter offers and want to shop then.
If the time schedule is listed somewhere else even more shame that it is overlooked as an inclusion here plus that Chat team are not informed and kept up to date and the blog is just fluff sales and chest beating. That is not support of partners regargless of paid or free status.
To much time is wasted with this sort of unthinking about unpublished / incomplete notifications, Live chat guy wasted > 15 min of his and my time becuase they don't know either, how many others are being inconvenienced by fialing to plan and notify information to act upon, this communication in the blog is good info but by itself useless and creates more doubt and lack or faith. Just look at the "hope in the comments"

Release not triggered in PO

Hi,
I have used the class PO_release.This class is having the characters as doc type,pur org,net value,pur grp.
I assigned this class to the release group.One strategy defined based on this group.
In CL20N i have maitained the values for the characters.
When i trigger the PO release is not working.Please be informed that PO createdbased on the values maitained in the CL20 N transaction.
Kindly let me know why release not triggered.If i miss any settings let me know.

I would say try this -
Remove all characteristics from class.
Then maintain only 1 characteristic in class and maintain characteristic value and match the value with the PO.
Try doing some dummy changes in PO and check whether system triggers release strategy.
If it is maintain values for other characteristics one by one and check the release.
Hope it works.
Thats how I manage such cases.

AC 5.3 Release Note Inquiry - Is it included in an Support Pack for AC5.2??

Hi Everyone,
In release v.5.3 release notes, SAP noted that the logical validation of "not to allow approvers to approve their request" has been added.
Does anyone know if this functionality was included in a Support Pack for v.5.2 version? Or would we have to upgrade to v.5.3 to benefit from this functionality?

Since it was considered an enhancement, it was included in the next release, and not as a SP release for v5.2.

ISE version 1.2 patch 6 release notes

Hi Everyone,
I notice that Cisco has released patch 6 for ISE version 1.2 yesterday.
I am trying to locate the all the "resolved" issues for patch 6; However, when I look at the ISE release notes

After updating to Lightroom CC 2015, it will not launch when I click on the icon. A window gets up: "__crtCreateSymbolicLinkW" not found in DLL "MSVCR110.dll". Same failure occurs when I start Photoshop CC.
LR 5.7.1 Starts without Problem.

Photoshop CC 2014.2 release note ?

I've updated Photoshop CC 2014 this morning to latest release, via Creative Cloud application, and It seems impossible to find the release notes for this new version.
On the tooltip, there was a link to http://www.adobe.com/go/photoshop_152_info that lead to nothing... :s
It's quite frustrating since it seems new interesting features were implemented....

We've recently moved from Windows XP with an older release of Crystal to Windows 7 (64 bit) with Crystal Reports 2011. Where can you find what issues have been fixed? Despite finding a link with the text "Support and Feature Pack Release Notes" on the web page SAP Crystal Reports 2011 – SAP Help Portal Page, the document is for SP5. Where can you find issues known and fixed in each of the service packs (and known and not fixed)? I also looked at Analytics Knowledge Center and picked Crystal Reports and 2011 and the only release notes other than the initial release is for a FP3, which as near as I can tell is nowhere to be downloaded so I assume the SP1 replaced that...

I agree and find it odd, but then, there is only the most rudimentary and superficial 'notes' -
iTunes 9 also includes many other improvements, such as HE-AAC encoding and playback, more flexibility with Smart Playlists rules, simpler organization of your media files inside an iTunes Media folder, and more.
Nothing like "fixed bug with using..."

Arabic and Hebrew features InDesign CC (2014 release) not accessible

Hello,
I need to create a lay-out with Arabic content in Indesign CC (2014 release). After checking how to go about that via the help-section (online and PDF) I have to conlude that the help does not help me any further.
It says I need to, from the paragraph panel options, set InDesign to the world-ready paragraph composer in order to have the text direction etc. features enabled. This, however, is not the case. The panel still looks like before and I get no Arabic / hebrew features.
This is the same for the character panel, wich also does not give the shown options for Character direction as shown in the Help screenshots.
I have followed all the suggestions in the help section.
I have also tried setting the default paragraph editor to World-Ready via the preferences, and then restart the program, but still no success.
Please advise, it's urgent.

Every change of plugins is resetting preferences.
Each language has its own preferences. But you move or copy them manually but you might adjust them afterward, because everylanguage has not the same functionality. At least not on the same place.

Hi William,
It worked!
Allthough I did not understand that, from the CC panel, I should install the entire app again. Thought this would go through the preferences window, but I noticed that, when changing the App language in the preferences, the app-list in in the panel changes.
Only thing is now: all the preferences and personal workspaces are gone:-(
Adobe realy doesn't make it easy, unless you're into IT, wich i am totally and absolutely not;-)
