21.0.025 for 5800XM? Am I the only one in the wor...

Hi,
I recently paid the full price for a 5800XM from my mobile operator "Mtel" but received a branded phone (how kind of them, #@!*!@***!## :robotmad. My phone has software version 21.0.025 and will not update via FOTA, Ovi suite or whatever.
I'm now starting to feel as if I'm the only person in the world with such outdated software. Are there many othes who cannot update past 21.0.025 ?

I've heard that there are a lot of complaints in the UK but I must say that you're lucky to live in a Western European country. People complain and things happen.
Where I live it's called Bulgaria, which may sound a bit European but they're still a little fuzzy about the meaning of the phrase 'customer service'.
My operator Mtel are a bunch of super arrogant @##!@# and no, they don't have a forum simply because it would become a collection of complaints. You can however send a complaint through their website (nicely hidden from the rest of the world) and when you do that they'll downplay your complaint referring you to their call center for 'technical help'.
Of course there is no one at the call center who knows what you're talking about so they will refer you to their Service center where ... you guessed it, they will tell you that the phone cannot be updated...

Get Info for Multiple Albums message (but only one was selected)

Please can someone help? I was so full of hope when moving from Windows to the Mac but my hope is rapidly turning to despair.
I have spent several hours putting many of my favourite music CDs into iTunes. All was going well, but suddenly when accessing the “Get Info” of a particular album in order to add Artwork I got a message like “Are you sure you want to get the information of MULTIPLE items” (my emphasis). (The error message may not be word perfect because I clicked the “don't show again” box and haven't seen it since.)
But the point is that I definitely did NOT have multiple items selected. There is nothing I can now do to select “Get Info” for a single album, and as a consequence I will never be able to add Artwork again when necessary.
I looked through the Internet and found references to the com.apple.itunes.plist. However although I can see this using Terminal I cannot find it using Finder! (Why not?)
What on earth is going on? This is no better than Windows, and in fact rather worse: I tried to delete iTunes, since it is obviously corrupted in some obscure way, with a view to re-installing it. But I can't even do that because it is “needed by Mac Os x”!!

You still can get info for multiple items. Checking the Don't show this again box simply stops iTunes from telling you that you have selected multiple items. It will still get info and edit the info for multiple items.

Because by default, Finder searches do not show system files.
But the "problems" you are experiencing are not really problems (just not knowing how it works) and you don't need to mess with that file.

This construction seems to be approximately 10% faster than a regular select into on 9.2.0.7.0. But I think the code is less clear for maintenance than a regular select into. When I look at the code, my first thought is it is going to loop through some records, and on second thought it is not. I don't like that, but it is a matter of personal taste.
When you don't have problems with that or when you really need that 10% on the function, it is perfectly ok.

Please let me know the settings:
for App has to pay only one currency invoices.
ex. we have invoicess with 3 currencies like INR , USD and GBP but the APP has to pay only GBP invoices.
local currency is INR.

Hi,
In T Code F110 , go to free selection screen, select the "field name" - Currency (BKPF-WAERS) from "Document" and in the Values, you can enter the INR or any one or multiple currencies by putting , for seperator. Now you can run the program asusual.
In this case, documents will be selected for payment only your currency mentioned in the field "Values"
There is an exclude check box also. This excludes the value mentioned over there. In your case, do not check this box.

Anyway I found that my SIM card is not working on 3G.
I replaced my SIM to other one and it works fine even without apps on the "USE CELLULAR DATA FOR:" field.
Still don't know how to add apps on this field.

Cannot download 3.06 ovi maps for 5800XM after hard reset. Any clue what's going on?

Similar problem on my E71 phone after upgrading the firmware to 300.21.012
I.e., when I start the application - it closes in a half way. Uninstalling is impossible.
When I start Nokia Maps updater - it says:
"Error. Cannot update licenses. Missing phone info: IMSI or IMEI cannot be obtained (20)."
Possible reason:
I've used Nokia Maps - Ovi beta before updating firmware to 300.21.012. After firmware update, I've updated Nokia Maps successfully with Nokia Maps Loader from the computer under Windows XP. But later I've restored phone info from backup, from another computer which is runing on Windows Vista. After restoring backup - I see my messages, etc., but Maps don't work at all (as written above).
Connecting through another computer (which runs under Windows Vista) - it says: "There are no new updates for your phone! Manage your maps and voices with Map Loader". But when I start Map loader - it looks as previous version loader; and allows only load voices, not maps. And still I can not start Maps in my E71 phone.
So how can I start using Nokia Maps again?

It's been months since v50 was released for 5800XM worldwide, but it seems Nokia thinks its US customers are least important of all.
What kind of **bleep** company cannot release a firmware at the same time for all models, just because it has a different 3G module?

I don't really got an answer for you but based on what I know...I think your versions have A LOT less bugs than the other ones.
I bought mine from Asia and I know people who got them in here (canada) and they have no problems at allw hile I'm suffering with constant updates and endless bugs and i keep having to mod **bleep**.

32GB memory for 5800XM??

I'm seriously considering buying the Nokia 5800 XM and I've read with interest the threads on the complications with the 16GB memory cards.
As far as I can ascertain as long as you are using a class 4, or above, memory card then problems should be minimal.
BUT - has anyone tried using a 32GB card with the 5800XM?
It's hardly a reliable source I know but if you research the 5800XM on Wikipedia it is stated that the phone is expandable up to 32GB.
I am an extreme novice when it comes to heavy technical issues and I have at least 20GB of music I would like to dump into the 5800XM and hopefully have room to spare for other stuff.
Is the 5800XM up to the task or would anybody have any other recommendations for a unit that is?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think what they are saying is that the phone was designed to accept up to a 32GB card when they become available. Even though none have been released yet, I believe the specs were known to Nokia at the time the device was released.

I have this doubt. I've just bought an external drive, especifically a Seagate GoFlex Desk 3 tb.
I want to know if it is recomendable to make a partion exclusively for time machine and let another one so I can put there music, photos, videos, etc that I should need to use or copy to another computer.
May half and half, 1.5 tb for time machine and 1.5 tb for data.

As I said, yes. Be sure your Time Machine partition has at least 1 TB for backups.
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to two (2). Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.

I have my own pc and sync to my own itunes program but our purchases still download to the same account and the money comes from the same account. Can I open a new account and not lose everything? I hope this isn't too wordy but I want to be as clear and explicit as I can for you.
You can't transfer purchases from one account to another account. Apple doesn't allow it.
You can continue to use your daughter's Apple ID in order to continue to use the apps that you purchased with her ID and you will need to use her ID and password any time that you want to update those apps. What you do want to avoid is having to download any of those purchased apps again on any other devices - if you create a new Apple ID.
If you create a new ID and then you sign into her ID in order to download a previous purchase- you will lock yourself out of the new ID for 90 days and there is nothing that you can do about it. So as long as you do NOT download any past purchases with her ID - you will not lock yourself out of the new ID. So you can keep using the apps that were bought with her ID, you can also update those apps using her ID (you have to sign into her account in Settings>Store) but you can't download past purchases without messing things up with your new ID.
When you download a past purchase with a different ID - you associate that device with the different ID for 90 days. This is one way that Apple hopes to cut down on pirating of apps - friends using other friends IDs in order to download apps without patting for them.

The bottom line is that you can create a new ID, still use her ID - judiciously - but you really want to avoid downloading past purchases with her ID. Transfer all of those purchases into iTunes so that if something happens and you need the purchased content again, you can just sync it again rather than downloading it.

Time Machine does not do individual accounts. It records the complete drive. So if you were to use her TM backup on your Mac it would make your Mac just like hers. Both yours and her account on your MAC.
Just copy the missing files over from her Mac to yours. If there are differennt programs on each then they would need to be installed on both.

Target for a .pdf with the link target _blank does not open in a new window.

I have a simple html document with links to .pdf documents all set to _blank but only one opens in a new window. The others open as _self. Changing the target doesn't seem to make a difference.

The Template .dwt file is only used locally by DW itself, there's no reason to upload it to the server unless you intend to share it with someone. You have to upload each individual page that the Template updates, every time you update the template and propagate that change across the child pages.
It would probably be better to use a server side include. That way, you could update one file then upload it and all of your pages would automatically carry that update...
