21.5 iMac display blue screen after installing Win7 and boot camp

I installed Windows 7 on iMac, it reboot fine.
But after I installed the boot camp 3.0 from Mac OS X 10.6 disc and pressed the restart buttom, the computer restarted and displayed a blue screen before entering the Windows and then reboot again automatically.
Should I use the Windows 7 installation enabler before installing Windows 7?
Thanks

    What DVDs are this ?
If it is OSX Snow Leopard Installation DVD then yes this disc contains the BootCamp Drivers version 3.x and is needed after the installation of Windows to install the BootCamp Drivers.
With OSX Lion BootCamp is at version 4.x and the BootCamp Drivers have to be downloaded during use of the BootCamp Assistant in OSX.

Ok so i got this laptop in a few days ago here are the problems and the things i have tried. This laptop when it came to me did not have a hard drive, so obviously no OS. Upon installing a hard drive then trying to load Yosemite from a USB stick, I turn mac on, sleep light will blink 5 times then boot, Will come to normal gray screen then apple logo, will then load the OS install, but go straight to a blue screen with vertical lines. Tried different hard drive, tried different RAM sizes and speeds, tried different OS, tried CD instead. Have done numerous PRAM and SMC resets. trying Safe mode gets me a panic cpu 4 caller error then restarts. I have tried using a hard drive that had an OS already installed and will go straight to blue screen after loading. I have tried fsck -fy in single user mode. I do get that disk2s3 is write protected in single user mode, but im pretty sure that its the OS disk. I do not see a second hard drive in single user mode but i believe that because its not partitioned yet. Any ideas community?

Tried doing OS X lion by CD now, and will only get half way through load bar before the apple logo and loading bar disappears and then it will sit at a gray screen.

  • Blue screen after installing labview 8

I recently installed Labview 8 Professional Dev. Suite on to a Win. XP SP2 system.  The image before installation was stable.  After the installation and reboot, the system blue screens (I have been unable to read the exact message on the blue screen) and reboots.  I was able to boot if I selected "using last know configuration" option in the Windows XP boot options, indicating that the problem is driver/registry related.  After I use the last know configuration, I get an error message "nidevmon.exe - Application Error.  The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142).  Click on OK to terminate the application."
I tried to repair all of the installed NI products without any success.
Device manager shows all devices installed properly without any conflicts.
Please advise on how I can resolve this installation conflict.
    Thanks.
    --Jeff

Hi, I am experiencing the same problem.  When my system boots up I receive the "nidevmon.exe could not be initialized" error message.  When I try to manually start the program after startup, I still get the same message.  I am running Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] and have also updated my system with the latest patches.  I have the ni USB-6008 device.  My system is an IBM Thinkpad T40, 1.5Ghz Centrino, with 512MB ram, and 80GB hd.  I have installed labview 7.1 and then NI-DAQmx 8.0 that came with the card.
Furthermore, the hardware does not succesfully install on my system.  After I install the software, reboot and plug the usb device in, the hardware wizard pops up.  However, in the end, I get "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)".  I suspect this has to do with the nidevmon.exe not initializing.  The ni hardware appears to be fine, I have successfully installed the devices in another system.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the ni-daqmx 8.0 software several times, and even downloaded version 7.5 from the web, however this did not solve the problem either.  I would appreciate any suggestions..
    Thanks,

  • Blue Screen after installing WRT600N

I have been running two wired high-end machines for over a year with an old Linksys 10/100 wired and wireless B Router.  I wanted to get the wired and wireless speed a bit faster so I bought the WRT600N mainly for the Gigabit switch and the USB port.  I went through the install wizard and got it configured.  But I am having numerous issues with this new router that my old trusty Linksys router never did with the same configuration.  I will enter different post for each issue if I can’t find help searching the forum.
    1.        I started to get the following:
           Blue Screen error:  “IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUALL”
    a.       I first started getting this error on the machine running the Linksys Advisor software.  The Machine is running the 64 bit version of Vista so I thought maybe the software did not like Vista or the 64 bit version.  This machine is wired to the gigabit switch on the WRT600N.  But then my other machine got the same Blue Screen Error.  It has a gigabit Nic and is not running the Linksys Advisor.  This second machine has been stable and has never had a Blue Screen on XP or Vista 32 Bit.  So when it got this same error I ruled out that my Vista 64 bit machine had a problem with a piece of hardware or a specific software application.  With both of these machines with gigabit NICs that ran fine on the old Linksys B router now getting this Blue Screen Error a bit longer than a year after I installed Vista.  And I have added no new hardware or software to the Vista 32 bit machine for years other than Windows Updates, but this machine doesn't have Vista SP1 install where the 64 bit machine does.  The 32 bit machine is a Dual Xeon CPU machine that is rock solid.
So does anyone know what might be the issue here?  I have been in Technical support for years before I moved up to Director of Product Management and Marketing but I still keep up with the latest new software and hardware and after working on this for a few months I believe it has to be this new Linksys WRT600N router, but if someone else has seen this and fixed this and it is not the new WRT600N please let me know what you did.
Lastly, I searched the forum and read all that I could find on this error message and nothing was helpful in my situation as these aren’t laptops moving from network to network they are desktop machines.  I also did some Google searching but no luck.
Oh, and by the way I don’t know if the router is misconfigured or broken but my old 10/100 seemed faster on file transfer/etc. than this supposed Router with a Gigabit switch.  Anyone have any ideas on that please let me know as well.
I am running WPA-Personal, maybe the encryption is slowing things down…. Who knows….
Thanks for any help and since there is no new firmware I figure this router may still have some bugs and maybe this might be one.

  • Blue screen after installing windows update

I get this error message after I install the windows updates. I have the K8n Neo Platinum with Nvidia Nforce 3 250gb chipset. I am running XP X64. The computer runs great until I do the windows update. I have tried changing setting in the bios but that don't matter. Here are 3 pix. I had to take them quick so they aren't very good. I am right now re-formatting again so I am on my other computer.
OK how do you add pix from a digital camera on this forum??? ,
Here is what it says. stop: c000021a (fatal system error) this session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000263 (0x00000000 0x00000000) the system has been shut down.
It then goes into a reboot mode and comes back with the same blue screen error code.
    Help

I e-mailed MSI tech support today also about the problem. A month ago I did the same thing. The tech said "oh I haven't heard of that happening before"  So thanks for the link. I can't wait to get the "haven't had that happen before" DUUHHHH again. I will just link them. A month ago I wrote went through about 10 of the updates. Doing a re-install, updating and see what happens. I wrote down a couple of them that cause problems. It was just way to much work to time consuming so I just stopped.
I don't quite understand that voltage thing with the processor. I would think you should be able to set the bios to "fail safe setting" and it should run and do everything.
It don't look like they posted a fix for this problem. But I didn't install any of the security updates anyways. I wonder if it is just my Motherboard or what. There must be someone out there who is running x64 with one of these boards.
    thanks again.

  • Blue Screen after Installing Drivers Windows 7

So I am running Bootcamp 3. I have installed Windows 7 Home Premium. After I install the drivers from the Apple OS X CD and restart I get a blue screen of death. I can reboot in safe mode. I can boot into Windows normally but it crashes after about 45 seconds.
I have tried this on two identical Mac Pro. When it crashes it sites Cache_Manager.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I have tried this on two identical Mac Pro. When it crashes it sites Cache_Manager.
On a Bootcamped Windows 7 x64 system, that's likely to be the AppleHFS.sys driver. There's some troubleshooting advice in the following thread at Macrumors:

  • Mac Pro is booting to blue screen after installing a new Optical Drive

I am trying to install a new Pioneer 115D Optical Drive in the 2nd Drive Bay. After installation I turned back on my computer and it did not boot. I got to the blue screen and the computer just hung there. Any suggestions on what went wrong? I have read something about switching to cable select how might I go about doing that? Also Someone suggested to remove the drive lip. Does that need to be done before installation? I watched the OWC video and followed the instructions there but there was no mention about removing the lip or using Cable Select. Thanks for you help.

You have to remove the tray lip before putting the drive in the computer

When you reinstall the drive holder, make sure it doesn't slice or pinch any of the cables.

  • Mac Freezes on Blue Screen After Installing Updates! Help!

    hi
Have just done the updates that were available for my wifes mac mini. All went well and it said restart to complete. I did this but when it restarted it would not get past the blue screen, the mouse cursor is there and moving but thats all.
Now my problm is i haven't got a clue about mac's, the wife is away and don't want to tell her that i've managed to trash her Mac as she has got quite a bit on there. If it was windows it would be fine as am happy with that but it isn't and i am stuck!!!!!(read dead if i can't sort it out before she gets back!!)
Now what i want to know is how can i basically get it back to where it was before installing the updtaes or can i get back to a state of working without deleting anything progs installed etc? With windows you can use there system restore after booting in safe mode. Is there a way i can do it with the mac or something along those lines.
i know this is probably a pain post but i am stuck
Cheers in advance for any help
Mac Mini 1.66GHZ INTEL Dual Core   Mac OS X (10.0.x)

The only way to get back to a state before the updates is if a backup was made.
As for booting in safe mode, you can try holding the shift key.
If that works, it says that some attached peripheral needs an updated driver. Remove all third party peripherals, and see if it boots.
If It doesn't boot, it is likely the directory is damaged, or the hard drive is very full, or the hard drive might be dying. You can also try zapping the PRAM:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
Unfortunately there is no way to tell the difference between the above possibilities, and if you use a directory repair utility on a dying hard drive, it may speed its death. How valuable is her data to her, and is it backed up anywhere?

  • Mac Mini mid 2011 Windows 7 64 Bit crashes to blue screen after install of Boot Camp Drivers

    Hello.
I have installed Windows 7 64 bit on my Mac Mini mid 2011. After the install, I install the Bootcamp Drivers and then after the restart it starts to load and then crashes. Is there some trick to get it to work, It runs fine if I do not install the drivers, but not much works on it.
Thank you in advance for any help.

    Hi,
Same thing here - but on Mac mini mid 2010...
I have installed the newest drivers downloaded via Boot Camp Assistant 4.0 (from Lion 10.7.1) on Windows 7 64-bit but the updated graphic driver causes my both screens (monitor - MiniDisplayPort and TV - HDMI) to go black, and eventually computer restarts or freezes.
I did some checks reinstalled whole windows, narrowed search to graphisc drivers and can confirm that up to BootCamp version 3.3 (nvidia ver. 19x.x) everything is fine but drivers from Boot Camp 4.0 (nvidia ver. 26x.x) simply render Windows 7 in 64-bit variant useless.
I look forward to some sort of solution or update from Apple as soon as poddible...!!

  • Blue Screen after installing 2nd HD as Slave

As soon as I installed a 2nd HD as slave, I get the occasional blue screen, with the following:
    MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION
    Stop: 0x0000009C (0x00000004, 0x805366F0, 0xB2000000, 0x00070F0F)
I have had no problems for the past two weeks until I installed this 2nd HD. By the way, the 2nd HD is relatively new, I have used it in another computer and has never given me problems.
Here are the steps I took and what I observed:
    1) I BOOT using the 1st HD (PRIMARY). I disabled the 2nd HD from "Device Manager". (Basically, I am trying to isolate the two drives)
    2) Everything is fine. I can work and play games while I am using the 1st drive.
    3) Next, I BOOT using the 2nd HD (SLAVE). I disabled the 1st HD from "Device Manager".
    4) Problems begin. I get that Blue Screen - sometimes during the BOOTING, sometimes while I am working in windows.
It seems to come down to something going on with the "slave channel"
I have installed the NVIDIA CK8S Parallel ATA Controller (v2.5) as well as updating to (v2.6).
    Here are my system specs:
OS: Windows XP (All updates, excluding service pack 2)
    AThlon64 2800+
    MSI K8N Neo Platinum (MS-7030)
    1 GB OCZ PC3500 memory
    ATI x800pro
    Western Digital WD800JB (Primary)
    Western Digital WD800BB (Secondary)
    Audigy 2 ZS
    Please Help!

well, as I suspected you have 18amps on the 12v rail, same as me, I get those same errors when burning a DVD from an ISO, (got the BSOD 3 times actually), doing the same thing, and the other day I got it while surfing, I have a high quality PSU, a thermaltake 480 but unfortunately it has also 18amps on the 12v rail, so I'm waiting to duplicate the BSOD and take out some parts to see if the problem remains...
I did this the other day to check how much current I was using.. I don't believe this is not even 90% accurate, but at least to give you an idea..
    AMPS
    7.73 - cpu
    0.30 - mother
    0.25 - system fan
    0.25 - 2nd system fan
    0.25 - PSU Fan 1
    0.25 - PSU Fan 2
    0.25 - cpu fan
    2 - 2x ide HDD
    0.85 - DVD Drive
    0.75 - DVD RW Drive
    13amps  === Total
Now, if you have a 18amps power supply remember that those specifications could be under ideal conditions, (no heat, etc). I assume that what mine is really providing is something between 13 - 15 amps, yours could be even lower, do you have another PSU you could try with? (I don't, so I haven't had the chance),
Also, if that doesn't help, try removing all the other components from your system, and leaving only the most basic stuff,,,e.g. remove fans (leave cpu fan of course), cdrom, dvd, floppy, video card, etc etc, leave just the two harddrives.... please let me know if that solved the problem for I'm also thinking about getting another PSU.. but wanted to make sure before..
