I intend to trade my flickering 27inch imac in for the 21 inch iMac. Any flickering on the 21 inch?

Unfortunately, the 21.5" iMac is plagued with defective display issues as well, including the one I recently received. I'm waiting on a replacement - my first in the "iMac display lottery". I'm just hoping it will be a good one.

Shockwave Player is strictly 32-bit only.
Most games on Facebook and Zynga use Flash Player, not Shockwave Player.
Flash Player is 32-bit and 64-bit, but you need to run it on a 64-bit browser.

when i publish my site and vew it the page on the web it just comes up with the file name w/ the ,swf and the "mising plug-in" message below. if i click on the file name it displays the flash file but gigantic (the entire height of the page).totally perplexed!

Other iMacs had a slot on the back where a cable lock could be attached. Do the new iMacs have this? I can't seem to find a picture of the back near the power cord anywhere.

Go to Apple's Website, look at the specs for the iMac. Then go to the Final Cut Studio page on their site, and look at the system requirements. If they meet, then yes. If not, then no.

Does Lenovo G500 have any wifi problems?

Hi guys, 8 days ago i bought an Lenovo G580, the laptop was great, fast and everthing but it had one problem as many of you know, the wifi connection.... So i returned it and got my money back. I've now found another Lenovo, and its an Lenovo G500. My question is do any of you guys know which wifi card it has?? And is it better or worse than G580?? The specs of this laptop is Intel Core i5-3230M (2,60 GHz)4 GB RAM (but im going to buy one extra 4GB ram) so = 8GB RAM1TB HDDIntel HD Graphics 4000

Friday 18th 2013, daughters laptop crapped out, went to Fry's electronics ad purchase the Lenovo g500, brought the laptop back to her dorm and proceeded to connect to her ASU internet, all the signal bars showed a strong signal (BUT) said limited connection, and we called the tech suppport at ASU and they tried everything, no luck, we also called Lenovo and they couldn't get it going either (WOW) !!! Went I this forum and tried the suggsted changes, disable Mcafee, power battery, ETC. and spent all night Friday trying to get this laptop going and no luck. OK now it's Saturday and called the campuses I.T department, they said there is no reason why you can't connect, even as a guest you should have no problems. No luck so now I so frustrated since the school or Lenovo couldn't getting going so we took it back to exchange it Yesterday (Sunday) the 20th, and the same problem with the ew laptop, so my daughter and I took the laptop to the schools I.T deparment and they tried to get it going, these are I.T. guys, and they couldn't get it going either, they tried a few updates and still no luck. they did their CMD prompt magic and still no luck, showed limited connection, same stuff Lenovo suggested. Now my daughter is in tears now!. She's a bio medical engineering student and in her third year maintaining a deans list quota isn't easy and every minute counts, and needs her laptop. Well we did another round of tech support with the school and Lenovo for hours and neither one could get it going (WOW,WOW) Now dad here is very disappointed, even though I realized it wasn't the schools fault, or the new laptops fault, but I had to come to the realization that Lenovo knows of this problem since there are many posts I found regarding this issue and no fix. Last effort I called Lenovo one more time and spent an hour with them and still no help (BUT) they told me to call this number (1-877-453-6686) and they could help us get the laptop running (LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL PERHAPS?) But the light went out quick!, they said if I call that number I would be charged for the tech support, I'm (LIVID) at this point! Two and a half days of heartache, so I made one last ditch effort before I took the laptop back in the morning for a refund so I installed the latest broadcom update and disabled Mcafee and restarted the computer and instantly my daughter's computer was connected to the internet.I know what your thinking , why didn't I.T, or Lenovo mention that particular update?, and I did have to use another computer to get the update and transfer it to zip drive to install I hope this helps anyone in the future, man that was a brutal experience

Hi I got an iPad 3 for around 5 months ago and I did not have any display problems... i bought it for reading books on iBooks and when I open PDF to read and when I full zoom in letters and words then it was so clear and no pixels were found but today

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

20 inch iMac screens ok.

From what iv read only the 24 inch iMacs have the condensation problem.
So if i got a 20 inch will i not have to worry about it.

Welcome to Discussions - you are right, the three beeps mean no RAM banks have passed testing, you will have to take the computer in to have it repaired. Hopefully, you will be covered by Apple Care. Any faulty RAM will cause the computer to malfunction, adding more RAM won't help.

Have hardware problems associated with the new 27 inch iMac been addressed?

I realize that this question may have been answered on another iMac post, but my wife and I thought we would quickly post the following question just in case there are some similarly quick answers:
We are thinking about acquiring one of the new 27 inch i7 iMacs. However, several initial problems have been reported with the new 27 inch iMac, e.g. screen problems, startup problems, etc.
According to Macworld (about 2-3 months ago), Apple finally acknowledged these hardware problems.
How do we know that acquiring one of the new 27 inch iMacs is a safe bet now…? Meaning, have these problems been addressed…? Has there been another announcement from Apple saying that these manufacturing processes/problems have been satisfactorily addressed…?

Have you run all the newest updates at the new Lenovo update site. It is up and running and took my computer a while to update including a new bios.
This helps but will/can make it worst for a while.
My Take:
If you laptop is new OR you have just installed a good bit of software OR did anything to move alot of files around on your drive it will take time for Vista to re index the files. Being that the processor is slow it will suck up resources that are required for the touchpad or even the keyboard. Mine would even freeze the keyboard and you could type and nothing would happen and then all of a sudden everything you typed pops up on the screen.
I have found that when ever you "upset" the indexing it is best to just leave your computer alone and let it do it's thing. You will see alot of hard drive and processor activity. After this stops, all is well and you should not have any more problems.
This is my opinion on what is happening and I have noticed the same on all three of my X301 units one with normal hard drive and one with 80gb SSD and 128gb SSD. Basically the slower processor is fine 90% of the time but seems to bog down a bit when asked to do too much.
Try this and see. Leave you laptop up and running for several hours, make sure it is set to not go to sleep and come back and see if it does not make a difference.

Re wifi:
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
