220V to 110V adapter?

I just moved to Seoul and want to make sure I don't fry my computer. I got a plug that goes into the power adapter and then into the wall (which is a 220v power source).
Will the power adapter convert the power? The last thing I want is to fry this baby into oblivion.

No most likely that plug is just a converter so you can physically plug into the outlet.
Don't worry, your power supply can run on either 110 or 220. Look at the little sticker on it.

You only need a plug adaptor as long as the voltage is between 100 and 240 volts.

Travel adapter 220V to 110V

I'm traveling to Mongolia with a 3GS and need to know if all I need is a simple plug adapter or whether I need a plug adapter and step-down voltage converter for my iPhone. I understand the concept of a plug adapter simply allowing a different plug type to access the same voltage (220V in this case), but I worry that the charger and iPhone won't be able to handle the 220V when its built for 110V power here in the US.
Any thoughts?

I also raised that question some months ago. If you have the latest plug from Apple, all you will need is the plug adapter. I always travel with both....the plug adapters and a voltage converter in case I, or someone in my group, have an older appliance.

Without knowing your iMac's model number it's difficult to say. Not really sure how much the cord has changed over the years if at all.

There shouldn;t be a problem plugging in the iMac as the power supply automatically switches for the line voltage and frequency. Just make sure the outlet in the US is the standard 110v/60hz.

Convert 2320 MFP printer from 220v to 110v

I have some HP2320 mfp printers that were mistakenly ordered to operate on 220 volts. How can I convert them to operate on 110 volts? Is it only the power supply that must be changed to accomplish this? If so, I have some defective 2320s that I could take the power supply out of.
I could use a step up transformer but prefer not to take that route.

I do not see a listing for the poser supply, but the fuser has different versions for the 110V and 220V versions. See the HP parts site and search for the laserjet 2320.

Can I use SCXI 1000 (110v US model) in 220V 50Hz country?

Somebody is selling SCXI 1000 with couple modules to me at a very good
price. However, it is a US model(110V) while in my region we use 220V
50Hz. Can I use a fransformer to convert 220V to 110V and use
with this chassis? Are there any know issues? This will be used for
hobby projects. Not a mission critical task

Let me start my response by saying that most likely there should not be
any problems with using a transformer. If I were you, I would
purchase a voltage adaptor that also changes the frequency of the power
supply from 50 Hz to 60 Hz. Neglecting to change the frequency
could cause problems in some devices that have power supplies not
intended for 60Hz VDC power (this could lead to a noisy DC power line).
With that said, the newer SCXI chassis can handle the different
voltage levels without a voltage adaptor, but you are supposed to
change the fuse inside the power supply to a lower amp fuse if you
switch from 110 to 220. You should be able to determine what
types of power you can connect to the scxi-1000 (110V/60Hz or
220V/50Hz) by reading the labels on the back of the SCXI chassis.
If the labels on the back of the SCXI chassis make no sense, feel free
to reply with the info from the labels in an email and I can help you
decipher them.

Somewhat much later query but I do have a related one. I've purchased my iPad 2 in India in October past. Using an adaptor for Canada I seem to have no problems charging it. Now I'm travelling to Chile and I see there is a 'similarity' in the two prongs on the electrical cord which came with the iPad (India) AND a similar pair of dual prongs used in Chile. I note Chile also uses a 3 - prong (horizontal) outlet. Query - Should I have any concern re the different currents used ; Canada 120V - 60 Hz versus Chile 220 - 50 Hz, or as noted earlier the iPad takes care of that with its built in converter. Yes. But to be sure look at the small writing on the charger. It should say 100 volts to 220 volts or similar.
