23 CinemaD is Flickering like crazy!

After 2 years, my lcd is starting to flicker (like a soft strobe light). I tried a different computer and same result. I switched monitors and no flicker. Obviously the monitor. Heard a lot of talk of bulbs and inverters, but no one's symptoms appeared to be the same. Anyone?

Upon restarting my computer (which runs OSX 10.6.8), one of my 23 inch Cinema Displays is flickering like crazy. Please help!!!

I use two 23" apple cinemas displays with my MacPro. Several times in the past, when I've restarted the computer one of the monitor is flickering as soon as it powers up. One of those times I shut the computer down again right away and restarted and the problem went away. Another time it stopped after sitting for a while. But it has just happened again....and this time, no matter how often I restart, or how long I've let it sit, the monitor continues to flicker. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Adobe After Effects CC 2014 flickering like crazy!?

Can someone tell me why this would be so? The screen keeps going nuts when I scroll then starts glitching out and going black randomly. Worked in CC fine. Before you ask I updated to the latest GPU driver. Are my settings wrong or....? Cheers, in advance.

CC was working fine until 2014. now i have the problem on both. i uninstalled cc 2014 but still get the flickering on cc and 2014.
all drivers are up to date.
i think After effects reloads it self when it flickers.

AE freezing & flickering like crazy

Every so often when I make an edit or import an asset, AE goes NUTS, like it has St. Vitus dance. Usually it settles down after a minute and works normally again, but sometimes it crashes dead. This never happened to me in CS5 or CS6.
Yes, my graphics card is updated as of a week ago (nVidia GeForce GTX) and CC updated the apps two days ago. I'm running on a Core i7 Win 8.1 PC with plenty of available disk and memory.

Anyone have an idea what's going on? Each of my projects has about 6 Premiere Pro sequences dynamically linked. I wonder if that's part of the issue.....

It doesn't seem to me that this is CPU related, but GPU related. It has happened on every GPU I had at least since CS6, in completely different machines, the first one had an AMD 1090T CPU and the current one an Intel i7 3930k with 32 GB of RAM.
This happens to me consistently every time I use the Element 3D plugin, which uses OpenGL extensively, but I remember it also happened while using the Raytracing renderer native in AE. It seems to me that the reason for this flicker is because there is some process created by the GPU that creates an additional window, but it shouldn't. When this happened in CS6, I could see that the AE icon in the taskbar would create an additional square, like when you have a program that has multiple windows open such as Internet Explorer. However, since AE doesn't allow multiple instances, this shouldn't happen.
However, I don't see this double taskbar icon since CC 2014, although the bug remains the same, after each save or autosave, the moment I try to move the cursor to another position it stalls for several seconds (the more complex the scene, the longer it stalls) and the flicker happens for as long as it's stalled.
To me, the cause of the flicker itself lies in a windows focus problem, it's like a new window is created and request Windows to focus on it, but then return to AE, so it's like doing Alt+Tab about 30 times per second. Of course, I'm not a programmer, so my guess could be way off.

Anyone having issues with iPad2 screen opening and closing like crazy on it's own?

My iPad2 screen just started opening & closing on it's own like crazy. Like it has a mind of it's own. Driving me insane. Just typing this out will take me over two mins. Anyone know how to fix this??

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?

The new OS is burning through my data plan like crazy and here's why. Imessage uses your data plan and not your texting plan. So every time you send a text message to someone with an iphone it uses imessage and it uses your data, not your text plan. I couldn't figure out why I was burning through so much of my data plan so quickly. I called Apple and they said, no it's not the data plan doing it. I called AT&T and they said, yes, the imessage uses data instead of your texting plan if you are texting to another iphone. Also, the new OS runs your apps all the time, even when you aren't using them. So if you are not near wifi your apps are running and burning your data plan. The AT&T guy took me through the steps to turn off the apps. You can still use them but they won't be running constantly. Seriously Apple, you should let people know this. It does say it in the fine print on the website "data rates may apply" under imessage but most people will never read this. So my data plan started on October 10th and it's already at 175 megabytes and I only have a 200 megabyte plan. I've never used more than 50 to 75 megabytes in a month. Apple get it together and be honest with people and tell them. Quit denying the problem. Most people have probably not even discovered this yet. Wait till you get your bill.

If you are using a free wifi connection, there are no data charges with iMessage. But in an area where you did NOT have a wifi connection, of course it used 3G and of course you got charged for it (or had it count against your plan limits).
I'll ask again - without a wifi connection, just what did you think was happening? How did you think your iPhone was able to magically send a message WITHOUT using any data connection? A little bit of rational thought would have made you realize that there was no way, over a 3G connection (which is a service provided by your cellular service provider, NOT Apple), that you can send or receive ANYTHING without your service provider's plan picking it up.
Nothing abut iMessage has ever hinted that it can, in any way, bypass your service provider when NOT using a wifi connection.

My text flickers like mad on NTSC monitor

I burned a DVD and tested it on my computer LCD screen. It looks fine.
But when I tried it on an NTSC monitor, the intro text flickers like mad.
OK, the fonts are a bit small to squeeze everything on, but it should not flicker as much as it does.
My font face is plain Arial.
The rest of the DVD is OK.
(ps: I did the text in Motion, imported it into FCP and rendered it out ProRes422 HQ). As I say, it looks great on my computer monitor.

this could be your problem
the choice of the text has to be compatable with the rezolution of the CRT - thin horizontal strokes cant be resolved properly and results in flicker
a good rule is to size text so that 30 lines of text can be displayed in the screen hight- if it doesnt fit, throw out some of the text or put it on a separate screen

Flash Player is causing my Web Pages to flash like crazy Need help!

Already checked the Event Viewer. The only thing I could find is this critical level event
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
This only happens when I am running a flash video in IE10. In Chrome everything works fine. I downgraded flash player to 11.4 but with no luck.
From the event viewer, the reboots started from sometime in september.(this is my parents' pc)
I think I found the problem. I changed my video card, a 9600GT, a few months ago with a GT630. I switched back to the 9600GT, and it looks like the issue is not happening any more. But it's still verry ackward for the issue to happen only on IE10.
I'm still testing to be sure that the video card is the problem.

Mouse pointer flashing like crazy

Since the last Flash update, Firefox crashes once or twice a day. According to the error reports sent, Flash did cause those crashes. Now there’s a new bug: the mouse pointer flickers like mad. I know it is Flash, because I killed the process in the task manager, and the mouse returned to normal. It’s not likely to be Firefox’s fault, but I thought I should still report it here to get it on record. Maybe Adobe will remedy this latest, highly buggy version of Flash.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).

I was printing last night and my HP6500 all-in-one started blinking like crazy and now even the test print page wont print. Control panel says it's fine, which obviously it's NOT.

Yikes...a 200 error...while the official KB for that is not presently available, the usual fix is to reload your OS...something during the update did not go right.

Download dictionary within Kindle app causes Notification red LED flashes like crazy

I'm not sure if it's a Kindle issue or BB10 OS issue, but it was kind interesting on my Z10 when it happened.
I've installed the Kindle app from appworld and I downloaded a free book, touch any content would prompt to download a dictionay for it, confirm it and the Notification red LED started to flash like crazy until the download was completed.

Ipod speeds up like crazy - iphone 4

I have an iphone 4, and am having a problem with the ipod function. After about 15 min of use (always when I'm running) the songs start speeding up like crazy and sometimes it won't even stop when I press stop, pause, etc. Anyone else have this? Any idea how to fix it? Obviously it makes my ipod function unusable - it's messing with my pace! Please help....

The name of the phone under devices shows up correctly, as "maryann's iphone", but in iTunes it shows up as the 4 not the 5. Even the phone icon is for the 4. When she unplugged it and plugged it back in, it said her iPhone 4 was up to date, everything is referring to the 4, which is the old phone. Probably need to get that changed some how I'm thinking...

Google Earth 7.1 - planet is spinning like crazy

Hi,
today when I opened Google Earth, the window came up, the overlays loaded and then the planet startet to spin like crazy. Everything I tried did not stop the spinning. It spins fast and constantly moves from north to west and back to north. It is unusable and I have no clue, where that is coming from. I googled the problem and could not really find any usable info, that's why I am posting it here now.
I have rebootet my machine, deleted the app and redownloaded it from Google to no avail. Still doing the same crazy thing. I just used it last week a few times and all was fine. I have not done any hardware changes or hook ups to my iMac since then. For all the years I use Google Earth, I have never had anything like that.
Any help would be appreciated.

Check your USB devices.
I had the same problem and went through the whole delete and reinstall the application rigmarole, including preferences and everything that I could find, even in the hidden /User/Libray folder, and nothing worked until I Googled the problem and found the answer: that by unplugging my (rarely used) USB steering wheel, quitting Google Earth (easier said than done as it was very sluggish in responding) then restarting Google Earth, the application now works perfectly.
Relief!
So it seems that, in my case, a USB device was sending the earth into a spin.
