23" display developing columns of color artifacts visible on desktop

I have a 23" ADC (clear) display connected to a ATI Radion 9000 Pro which was shipped with my Dual G4 1.42 GHz Mac. 2 GB memory.
Recently images in windows such as iPhoto began showing verticle bars (columns) of color changes when placed over specific areas of the screen. It looks as though the image was pressed over a raised bar and a colored pencil rubbing was made. The columns are visible on the desktop alone for certain of the Apple Abstract desktop images. There are now about 4 or 5 of these columns across my display. The Sticky dashboard widget is also a good detector of this oddity. When dragged around the screen, a yellow Sticky shows the columns as faint magenta blurrs; a green Sticky will show some of the columns as a uniform gray column when over an area. The Nederlandse Radio Widget shows some columns as DNA like columns of alternating thick and thin bars. This behavior is independent of application, but seems very dependent on the color the window is attempting to show. The bars never appear in a white window like MS Word or TextEdit. It is independent of OS too, because I've booted from alternate versions of OS X on different hard disks as far back as Jaguar and the problem is consistant. All suggestions welcome.
Dual G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

After going through two Apple 23 inch cinema displays, I threw in the towel and purchased a ViewSonic 23inch cinema display. I am very pleased with it. Absolutely none of the backlight bleed that was a problem with the Apple monitor. They accepted the return without any restocking fee, leading me to believe Apple is aware a problem exists with them.

  • ACR 5.2 camera profiles and Nikon D700 color artifacts

    Using LR 2.2 or Photoshop CS4, conversions of D700 NEFs often result in peculiar color 'artifacts' (posterization?) in certain images, when using the new camera specific profiles like Camera Standard (or particularly Camera Landscape). Typically, the Adobe Standard or ACR 5.2 profile don't exhibit this behavior, at least not with significant changes to saturation and contrast.
    An example of this can be seen at http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3400/3179948383_cfda478eb8.jpg (LR 2.2, Camera Standard profile). Question is whether these sorts of results are expected? I'm otherwise quite happy with the new profiles. Thanks,
    Mike

    Mike,
    1. You may be happy if the problem goes away with the lossless compression, but it would be a nice service to the D3/D700 owners' community to
    b prove
    this. There are many photogs convinced, that the lossy compression does not cause visible loss (Nikon created a myth about this issue already with the D70).
    If you can create pairs of shots demonstrating the effect and would not mind my using your images, I would spread this on other forums as well, as I did with the D300.
    2. Re WB:
    i normally
    you can accept the WB interpretations of different raw processors, but not if the issue is just the WB. The fact, that the displayed color temperatures are close, does not mean much: the color temperature is not absolute. I don't go so far as to say, that it
    i should
    be different between CNX and ACR, but you can not rely on the number.
    Even the snow is clearly reddish in the ACR created JPEG. You may complain about ACR's WB conversion, but that is a separate issue. In order to compare the colors, first the greys have to be made grey in both conversions.

  • Gausian blur color artifacts

    Can you please tell me why i get these horrible color artifacts when i use gausian blur... is there a way of blurring an image without them? is there something wrong with my computer? ...i blurred this image at 12 pixels gausian blur. the picture is zoomed at 800%

    You're blurring the image so much that you're seeing the edges between values. This can be exaggerated by your document profile, display profile, and some (especially cheaper and laptop) displays.
    In 16 bit/channel images, you can some see quantization because the display is only 8 bit, even though the data in the image doesn't actually have any visible steps.
    It isn't an artifact - just a consequence of creating really smooth color gradations, and your eye is good at finding edges.
    This is called "banding" or "quantization", and can be minimized by adding a small amount of noise back to the image.

  • In ColumnChart, how to stop displaying small column for zero value?

    I'm trying to create a ColumnChart that does not display a column when the value is zero. The chart currently looks like this:
    This is a stacked column chart with red values representing Faults and green values representing Throughput. Each hour has an explicit value of zero for Faults. I don't want to see any red lines when the value is zero. Is there any way to accomplish this?

    Answered my own question!!
    The solution is to set the stroke for the ColumnSeries to {noStroke}, which I defined like this:
        <mx:Stroke id="noStroke" color="0xFFFFFF" weight="0"/>
    Note that if you define {noStroke} without a color property, black is used by default, which means that those columns that do appear show up in black stroke outline.
    If there's a more elegant solution to the problem, please let me know...

  • Photoshop CC 2014 No Longer Displaying Blue In The Color Picker Or Workspace, Only Purples.

    Photoshop CC 2014 is no longer displaying blue in the color picker and on screen, only purple, violet, magenta, etc. I think it started about 3 days ago. Our current model 2.9 GHz iMac with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024 MB Graphics Card and 8 GB RAM is calibrated to 100% via Spyder 4 Express, and reflects that in every application except Photoshop CC 2014, so I know it isn't the monitor. Blue is the primary color we use in many of our designs, so this is of upmost importance. I really appreciate any help you could provide, If this isn't fixed ASAP, I don't know what we'll do.
    Thank you so much!

    Ok, so old files are purple, but new files are blue.
    I took a screenshot of my Photoshop work are using Cmd-Shift-3 and it places the screen shot as a png file on my desktop, which I upload with my reply via the Camera icon in the forum reply toolbar.
    I loaded a new RGB/8 file, set the bottom status bar to indicate the color profile (sRGB) and made sure the file tab on the top is visible, so I can see it is RGB/8. Then I used Cmd-shift-k to show my Color Settings before taking the screenshot. The point is to try and see where the problem is coming from, so make a screenshot just like mine with your old purple file.

  • Display mutiple columns in a drop down

    Has anyone found a way to display multiple columns in a drop down field? For example, I want to populate my drop down with an ID type field and associated DESCRIPTION1, DESCRIPTION2, DESCRIPTION3 and DESCRIPTION4 fields:
    10100101 EXTERNAL COMBUSTION BOILERS ELECTRIC GENERATION ANTHRACITE COAL PULVERIZED COAL
    10100102 EXTERNAL COMBUSTION BOILERS ELECTRIC GENERATION ANTHRACITE COAL TRAVELING GRATE (OVERFEED) STOKER
    This was possible in Form Designer 5 - you could add one to many columns in a drop down and choose which columns to display, set a column width, and choose which column was the "text" property and which was the "value" property of the drop down. For example, in my sample above the text "ANTHRACITE COAL TRAVELING GRATE (OVERFEED) STOKER" would display in the drop down and the value "10100102" would be saved as the value.

    The closest you can come is, taking from your example, you add the item "ANTRACITE COAL TRAVELING GRATE (OVERFEED) STOKER" to your drop down. Then in the binding tab you give that item the value "10100102".

  • Change Column Header / Column Background color based on a value in a specific row in the same column

    SSRS 2012
    Dataset (40 columns) including the first 3 rows for Report layout configuration (eg: the <second> row specifies the column background color).
    Starting from the 4th row, the dataset contains data to be displayed.
    I would like to change the background color of the ColumnHeader/Column based on the value in the same column in the <second> row.
    How can I accomplish the this requirement? (this must be applied for all the columns)
    Thanks

    Hi Fasttrck2,
    Per my understanding that you want to specify the background color of all the columns/column header based on the value in one special column of the special row, right?
    I have tested on my local environment and you can add expression to condition show the background color in the columns properties or the column header properties.
    Details information below for your reference:
    Specify the background color in the Column header: you can select the entire column header row and in the properties add expression in the Background color :
    If you want to specify the background color for the entire column, you can select the entire column and add the expression, repeat to add background color for other columns.
    If you want to specify the background color based on the value in the specific columns and row, you can create an hidden parameter to get the list of values from the  specific column, specify the Available values and default values by select "Get
    values from a query", finally using the expression as below to get the specific value you want:
    Expression(Backgroud Color):
    =IIF(Parameters!Para.Value(1)="1221","red","yellow")
    If your problem still exists, please try to provide some smaple data of the report and also the snapshot of the report structure to help us more effective to provide an solution.
    Any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • How to Display 10 columns in first page,next columns in second page in smartforms in sap.

    In internal table having 30 columns of data.
    i have to display like
    first 10 columns in first page with page no :1
    second 10 columns in second page with page no :2
    third 10 columns in second page with page no :3
    how to develop this.
    please how develop this in smartforms .
    please help .

    Hi,
    You dont have to divide the data.
    You must be using TABLE node in your smartform to display the table.
    Copy the node 2 times more so that the total table nodes become 3.
    Now, change the headings in each table according to the column you want to display.
    Change the fields of the workarea in the ITEM lines accordingly.
    Add a COMMAND node after each table and set it to go to next page.
    E.G :
    Suppose I have a table with 6 columns and I need to display 2 columns in a table then page break.
    Work area name is WA.
    Then first table will have headings : FIELD1 FIELD2
    Items will have field     :     WA-FIELD1 WA_FIELD2
    COMMAND NODE : Go to Next Page
    Second table will have heading : FIELD3 FIELD4
    Items will have field     :     WA-FIELD3 WA_FIELD4
    COMMAND NODE : Go to Next Page
    Third table will have heading : FIELD5 FIELD6
    Items will have field     :     WA-FIELD5 WA_FIELD6
    So, same table with same work area will be used 3 times, displaying different set of columns in each TABLE node.

  • Display more columns in ESS "Time Accounts" table in "Leave Request"

    Hi all,
    does anybody know how to configure the display of columns in the "Time Accounts" table in the ESS-WebDynpro "Leave Request" ? I currently see
    Time Account /  Deductible to / Entitlement / Remainder
    We would like to include other columns and can't find to manage this in the WebDynpro ess~lea (we're using EP6, SAP_ESS 100 SP19) - all 12 existing columns are already set to "visible" in AccListView. In implementation of method format() in FccAccList all values are assigned, but the columns get not displayed...
    Please could you advise, where and how this can be customized?
    Is it to customize in backend or WebDynpro or ??

  • Colums aren't displayed in column chart

    Hello,
    I have a problem with Xcelsius. It's not displaying the columns of my column chart in the preview and in the excel-export. The legend is being displayed.
    Thx for answering,
    Simon

    Hi Simon,
    There are n number of reasons for this.
    1. There might be no DATA provided
    2. The data provided might have huge variance like 10000,2,3,
    3. The bar color might have got set to the same color of background. etc.,.
    To set everything back.
    Create a fresh chart with good sample data then change the value range of chart.
    Ensure that in the Properties of chart-> Behaviour tab-> Scale -> Manual scaling is NOT selected.  Let it be automatic.
    Please revert in case this doesnt work.
    With best wishes

  • Displaying Alternate row as colored in Cross tab

    Hi,
    I have a report where I need to display alternate rows as colored.
    There is some data in detail section followed by a cross tab in the report header section.
    While I am able to display alternate rows as colored in Detail secction for displaying alternate colored rows in Cross tab data I need some help.
    Data in cross tab is like this
                  history geography
    Tammy   90          60
    Sid         80          50
    Julia       70        40
    In cross tab for displaying alternate colored rows ie for alternate student names  I am using two formulas
    - for displaying row values I am using this one
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar d;
    d := iif(d=100,255,100);
    color(255,255,d);
    For displaying alternate colored inner cells ie marks  I am using this formula
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar c;
    c := iif(c =255,100,255);
    color(255,255,c)
    I got these formulas after doing Googling
    My cross tab is present in report footer and in the generated report it comes separeated in two pages.
    In the first page data for Tammy and Sid is displayed while Julia is displayed on next page.
    Now the Tammy is coming as yellow colored and as expected Sid is coming as white colored. However Julia which is on next page is coming as white , but logically it should have come as yellow. On the other hand my column data ie marks column is coming fine. Data for tammy and sid is coming as alternately colored and data is Julia on the next page is coming as yellow(as data for Sid is in white)
    I am not able to understand why this is happening and what is the correct way to do alternate row coloring in cross tabs

    Where is your variable c being reset.
    If in page header or group header and you have repaet group header on new page then c will be reset on each page.
    If In groupheader try adding this to reset formula
    if not inrepeatedgroupheader then

    try yourself with this VI. Consider the "active cell" indices are I32, so they can be negative.

  • Photoshop CS6 selection, shape, and text is causing colored artifacts on screen

    The Photoshop CS6 (13.0.4) selection, text, and shape tool causes colored artifacts on screen. I'm running on a retina Macbook Pro updated to the latest ML release. I have disabled GPU acceleration. I have also tried starting Photoshop with no plugins but this does not help.
    I have created a video which shows the phenomena
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VG5ayC3WmKA

    SOLVED. After two days of intense debugging I've identified the issue as an interaction between the ICC color profile, integrated GPU, and Photoshop. The ICC profile was created with an i1Display Pro using the i1Profiler software. The issue occurs when you create the color profile using the LUT setting. Creating a profile using the matrix setting seems to be ok. In summary, these are the specific conditions that cause the issue (for me):
    1) Using a color profile created with the LUT setting with i1Profiler and i1Display Pro
    2) Using the integrated GPU (discrete GPU is disabled in Photoshop Performance setting)
    3) Running on Photoshop 13.0.4 (13.0+ all have the issue) on a 15" Macbook Pro with Retina display
    Creating a new profile with the matrix setting OR enabling the discrete Nvidia GPU will also make the artifacts go away. The integrated GPU using the LUT based color profile does not seem to have any artifacts in any other photography and video editing software that I've tried so Photoshop is playing a role. The nature of the artifacts also change from Photoshop version 13.0 to 13.0.4. For example, in Photoshop 13.0 the Marquee Tool has no issues while 13.0.1+ has artifacts.

    People are not prone to answer questions that are not really a problem. You want to know something about a free product, install it and see for yourself. In any case spreading your question around is not going to help you, the people who know about ADF are still going to be looking in the ADF forum. If you don't get an answer there, what chance do you think you have that you'll get one here where it is off-topic?
    I'll close with a word of advice: you generally pay for quality. If you want professional looking charts, you'll probably have to look at commercial products.
