238 songs purchased from the iTunes store will not play.

I downloaded 238 songs based on "Best of" lists without previewing any of them beforehand. As it turned out, when I attempted to play a song, it would not start going. I tried double-clicking the song, pressing the playing button, and selecting play from the controls list. I have the computer authorized. It is 1 out of 5. I don't know if it could be the case, but I have 3 computers authorized from an old account with a different e-mail address and an old credit card number I no longer use. Since I got a new computer, I simply created a new account. It also could be that I don't have a working sound card, but that would just mean that I couldn't "hear" the song, not that it wouldn't start to play. I bought a shuffle expecting to put these 238 songs onto it. What is going on?

Hello there,
I have had a similar proble and the details are as follows:
Towards the end of the process of setting up the account there was a window that flashed momentarily saying somthing like "an authorixation file could not be installed". However, the next window stated that the account set up installation was successful.
Now that I have purchased a few songs I cannot listen in itunes nor download them on the iPod because (after I enter my password) a window with this message appears saying:
Beg Quote:
" itunes
There was an error sharing your authorization information on this computer.
The required file was not found or has a permission error. Correct this permission problem and try again, or deauthorize this computer if the permission cannot be changed."
End Quote
I have tried to "Deauthorize the computer for the Music Store Account" but the same window as above comes up and I am back where I started.
I would appreciate Customer Support on this and I look forward to a reply from the itunes Music Store so that I can utilize the services I signed up for.
Thank you and best regards,
Judy

my pc crashed and erased my itunes songs purchased from the itunes store. How do i get that content back without having to purchase them again?

I have somewhat of a similar problem. After iTunes last update, I am missing some of my purchased files of music, ringtones, and TV shows. Possibly movies, but just thought of that and did not look yet. Seems everytime there is an iTunes update, something happens, but usually an easy fix by just deleting music files from CD's that I loaded onto iTunes and no longer recognized after an update and reload from the hard drive. This time I do not have a current back up of all the music, ringtones, and tv shows I have purchased.
So I am also wondering how can I redownload purchases without being charged when there is no file left on the hard drive. It just stays listed in iTunes though.

  • A number of songs I downloaded from the iTunes store are not playing the whole way through.

Some of the songs are only playing for a couple of seconds, them others I have purhased around the same time are playing the whole way through. Is there any way to fix this?

    Hey maddielou2,
Thanks for the question. The following article outlines a resolution to your issue:
Songs in iTunes may not play back completely
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4357
Occasionally, if a song purchased from the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC was not downloaded completely, the song may not play back fully. The song may abruptly stop during playback, and iTunes may start playing the next song in your library or playlist.
    Resolution
If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
    - Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
    - Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
    - Download your previously purchased song from this list.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Is it legal to use a song purchased from the iTunes Store?

I'd like to put a song on my website. However, that song is a song which I purchased from the iTunes Store. Is it legal for me to put that song on my website?

No, it's not legal, not without a license from the owner of the rights to the track, usually the record company, to provide it on a web site, and such a license would be difficult to obtain and probably prohibitively expensive. Use of tracks for any purpose other than your own personal playback is also a violation of the terms of sale of the iTunes Store. If you want music on your web site, I'd suggest composing and performing your own, perhaps with GarageBand, or buying a track from one of the services that offer royalty-free licences.
    Regards.

  • Items that I brought from the itunes store will not sync to my ipod, and I can't download them on my ipod.  What do I do?

I used to be able to download the items from the itunes store on my ipod, but that isn't an option anymore. I'm not sure how to get the items on my ipod.

Because you can set Restrictions on age/content and one song might be age restricted.
What happens when you try to redownload directly to the iPod by
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Audio and video tracks in movies and tv shows purchased at the itunes store do not play in sync on my desktop PC - can anybody help?

    Any thoughts?

Purchased movies from iTunes are automatically available on Apple's cloud, but not as part of your purchased storage; purchased movies are stored free, since you can redownload them any time (unless the movies are no longer available).
    From Apple:
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your device using iOS 5 or later. Once you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch .....
    What is backed up
You get unlimited free storage for:
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books
Notes: Backup of purchased music is not available in all countries. Backups of purchased movies and TV shows are U.S. only. Previous purchases may not be restored if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
Some previously purchased movies may not be available in iTunes in the Cloud. These movies will indicate that they are not available in iTunes in the Cloud on their product details page in the iTunes Store. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer available in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
You get 5 GB of free iCloud storage for:
Photos and videos in the Camera Roll
Device settings (for example: Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts)
    App data
    Home screen and app organization
    Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS)
    Ringtones
    Visual Voicemails

Why do songs that I purchased from the iTunes store get "chopped" after a few seconds of playing?

You will not get recharged if you download them from the Purchased section of the iTunes Store and you are signed in with the Apple ID they were originally purchased with.
iTunes Store > Purchased (in the Quick Links section on the right) > Music

You copy them from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.
The iphone is not a backup/storage device.

Ok. So my iTunes started acting up a few months ago. ALL of the songs I purchased from the iTunes store stop in the middle of the song and then go back to the begining (I keep it on repeat one song by the way). Please help!!! (Windows 7) I would really like to hear my songs all the way through, but I can't . I tried the "Convert Protected ACC files to Purchased ACC files fix" but it DIDN'T work. I don't know what to do. It does it when I transfer the music onto my Classic too.

What do you mean "doesn't recognize"?

  • TS1424 I downloaded a song that I purchased from the ITunes store, but the song does not play properly.  How can I re-download the same song without having to purchase it a second time?

I downloaded a song that I purchased from the ITunes store, but the song does not play properly.  How can I re-download the same song without having to purchase it a second time?

I could not find an option to "report a problem".
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • I recently subscribed to iTunes Match.  iTunes is trying to match and upload songs not purchased from the iTunes store; however, it keeps shutting down before it finishes.  Has this happened to anyone else?

I recently subscribed to iTunes Match.  iTunes is trying to match and upload songs not purchased from the iTunes store; however, it keeps shutting down before it finishes.

Turn off iTunes Match while holding down the Option key (Shift for Windows) then quit iTunes. Open it after a few seconds, and turn iTM back on.

  • TS1424 iTunes skip the first two songs of the album I just purchased from the iTunes Store?

Why does iTunes skip the first two songs of the album I just purchased from the iTunes Store?
I previously checked that the download was complete.  (Had plenty of time, but checked nonetheless it was done.)  I have closed and reopened iTunes several times.  Frustrated.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • HT1386 When I update my IPad to the IOS 5 system will I lose my apps that I purchased from the ITunes store?

I have an IPad 2.  I want to update it to an IOS 5.  Will I lose my apps that I purchased from the ITune store?

What you should do anytime that you update the device is to transfer purchases from the iPad into iTunes - File>Transfer Purchases - and you should backup the iPad as well. When you update the update the device, if something goes wrong, you can restore from the backup.
However, iTunes should ask if you want to backup before you update, but just in case create the backup yourself before you update. The backup contains your app data and settings  - so make sure you backup first. If something goes awry when you update, with regard to apps, you can download them again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought them with.
If you have any other important files, you may want to transfer them to your computer as well, prior to the update.
    Transfer purchases.

  • I'm getting this error message  "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the iPod '___'s iPod.' Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?" I have authorized the computer.

I just purchased songs on itunes, I can play them on my windows 7, but when I try to sync the ipod, I get the error "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items on "Stephanie's ipod" Would you like to authorize this computer for purchases from the itunes store.  When I authorize it, it says it is already authorized. Then the process starts all over again. Help.

You can't change the Apple ID that the Authorize dialog comes up with by default. It's showing you that Apple ID for a reason: it means that the items you want to play were purchased using that Apple ID and therefore you need to authorize your computer with that Apple ID. Changing the Apple ID given completely defeats the entire purpose.
If you don't know the password to the given Apple ID, then you will no longer be able to play those items.
