24/7/365 shift schedule assignment in Outlook 2010

I would like to show a shift schedule (day, afternoon, midnight turn) in outlook. I have the schedule in Word tables and would like to find a way to import that instead of entering all the data from scratch. The employees work a 7 day shift that rotates.
7 straight days on both mid and afternoon shifts. Days off occur on day turn. Any ideas?

There doesn't seem to be a buildin feature to import the shift from Word tables.
There should be a way to import from Excel though:

  • How do I grey out outlook 2010 & 2013 Signature Options

    Hello,
I know by using the administrative templates for outlook 2003/2007 that you can disable, or grey out the ability to make changes to your signature. Our company is looking to deploy a template signature, and we want to have the ability to disable users from
changing their signatures. We are using Office 365 for e-mail and outlook 2010/2013. Obviously if the user wants to edit their signature to each e-mail they write (manually) we can't control that.
What I am looking for is a way through group policy, local registry settings or something else that will allow us to disable users from changing signature settings. The only setting similar to this for the ADM Templates for 2010+ is to completely disable
signatures, which we obviously do not want.
Please let me know if you have any other ideas/suggestions.
    Thank you!

You can disable many commands using DisabledCmdBarItemsList - this is in the GPO under Outlook  > disable Items in user interface > custom
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\15.0\outlook\DisabledCmdBarItemsList
String name: TCID1 (where 1 is incremented for each command you want disabled)
The value for the Insert Signature command on the ribbon in forms is 5608 but I didn't see any other signature commands on the list - and it doesn't disable the right click, choose signature command. A spreadsheet with the command id's is here - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=6627

  • Siebel F9 : Activity not assigned to contact - Outlook 2010

    Hi,
Our environment change for a new version of Outlook (from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2010)
In my tests with F9 fonctionnality, I have exactly the same issue as doc ID 1556458.1
After sending email, activity is not assigned to contacts anymore.
As I see in doc ID 1556458.1, I change in OFT file "Set oSession = CreateObject("MAPI.Session") to "Set oSession = CreateObject("CDO.Message") but have the same result.
In log file, I see that parameter "Field: Email To Line" have the name of the contact instead of email...
    Here specifications of my environment:
    Siebel 8.1.1.10
    IE8
    Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 SP2
    Client MS Outlook 2010
    Thanks for your help.

  • Regarding shift schedule

    Hi all experts.
I hv a querry regarding the shift schedule.. i hv various shift schedule.like shift A- 6am-2pm, shift B- 2pm-10pm, shift C - 10pm-6am, shift D- 8am-5pm etc.. now i want a new shift schedule for e.g. shift E- shift Ashift B, *shift F- shift A shift C*.. can this be possible? if yes, kindly guide me how it will be done.
    Thanx n Regards,
    S.Kumar

Yes it is possible. You can add these additional shifts in the DWS and assign it to the existing personnel subarea groupings fpr Work schedule and DWS or may be the different grouping as per the requirement.
Then create PWS using the new shifts in the table V_T551A, assign public holiday calendar and generate work schedule rules in the table V_T508A.
Can u be a bit more clear on your requirement so that the personnel subarea groupings can be decided?

  • Bypass Proxy for Local Addresses - Office 365 connection/ Outlook 2010

This is a strange one.  Connectivity to Office 365 within our netwotk works fine although very slow for outlook 2010 client to initially connect. Once connected, it works ok.  I have done a netwotk trace using netmon to see if i can identify
the reason for the slow startup (2 mins minumum for profile to load and for outlook to connect to exchange). The trace tell me that my local pc tries to make a direct connection to the office365 external IPs first, then tries the TMG proxy. Once it hits the
proxy, it kicks into life and works.
So it looks to me like it thinks the external IP address of office 365 is an internal address and spends it time trying all the ip addresses until it trys the proxy.  At this point, the
Bypass Proxy Server for Local Addresses is ticked.
As soon as i untick this box, all traffic heads directly to the proxy and of course it connects like lighting.  The exchange settings proxy is set in outlook for "on fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP" (tick
is on) and the same for slow networks.
I cant for the life of me work out why it tries to connect directly to the external IPs first and not connect via TMG until i untick the
Bypass Proxy Server for Local Addresses
Would love any ideas that may assist.

We have been in discussions with Microsoft over the last few days on this issue - which is seen with Outlook 2007 versions onwards.  Extract from resolution communication from Microsoft:
The issue you have raised is known as it has been reported and when you have a proxy set in Internet Explorer and “Bypass proxy settings for local addresses”, Outlook will attempt to connect to Office 365 directly – like the bypass rule would apply.
Because the direct connection is blocked in the Firewall, Outlook needs to have the connections going in Timeout before attempting to connect using the Proxy.
Your network trace proves the issue.
Microsoft have scheduled a fix for Outlook 2010 in February 2014 cumulative update. A fix for Outlook 2013 will also follow, but Outlook 2007 will not be addressed because it is in Extended Support.
There are two possible workarounds for this behaviour:
First, and I wouldn’t recommend it, is to allow Direct traffic through the Firewall to Office 365.
The advantage of this approach is that it will be done centralized and it will impact everyone immediately.
Information about the O365 IP addresses
There are two downsides to this behaviour:
    1.  First you need to maintain the Firewall exceptions as IP from O365 server can change without notice
    2.  Second, winhttp traffic may go through both proxy and direct and this can cause unforeseen behaviour.
The second approach is to use a proxy pac instead of manually setting in the proxy and the exceptions.
The advantage is that you will have centralized method to control how winhttp traffic goes and the issue will not be experienced anymore.
If a single pac does not be fit, you can configure proxy pac files for each site requirements and use an IIS server to store it.

  • Can I sync my iCloud calendar with Outlook 365?  I upgraded from Office 2010 and now it doesn't sync.

I upgraded from Outlook 2010, and now it doesn't update in Outlook 365.  Thinking I can't do it, and it's a pity, cause I want it all to integrate on phone and on desktop.  I'm running Windows 7 and Office 365.  The iCloud app works fine with Internet Explorer, but I can't get the calendar to update.  Any suggestions?

Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.
Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

  • Migrating to office 365/Win 8.1 from Office 2010/Win 7.0 the Outlook Personal folders are missing.

In Office 2010 I had emails archived into private data file personal folders/subfolders under Outlook 2010. My Office 2010 installation was wiped out when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. The outlook.pst files are still available. When I installed
Office 365 on my Windows 8.1 system, Outlook 365 picked up the .pst and populated the Inbox and Sent folders, but the archived email personal folders are not present, and also the contacts folder is empty. I haven't been able to figure out where on the hard
drive the personal folders were actually archived (in Office 2010 ) or if Office 365 will even support showing these personal folders.

Problem solved. I found a separate .pst file in my backups that contained the personal folders and the contacts. This file wasn't in the Win 8.1 documents\outlook files folder. So two .pst files are needed; one for the emails and the other for the personal
    folders.

  • Outlook 2010 : Scheduling Assistant not showing participant's timeline, stuck on updating and won't finish

Since last week when i tried to schedule a meeting, i am not able to use scheduling assistant to view the participants time. It will just display a gray bar with 'Updating Schedule Information" and it goes on without displaying anything. The
same goes for my calendar.  I've added few colleagues' calendar and previously i was able to view their time, now it just says 'updating' with the spinning animation.
    I tried to :
    - start outlook in safe mode, not working
    - Create new profile with my account and restart outlook. No luck
    - enable logging on Outlook, but there is not <date>-<time>-fb.log file created when i tried to view a colleagues calendar.
    but,
    - Start OWA and view both calendar and scheduling assistant, works fine!
    - on my colleagues laptop, added my account and it works.
It seems to me Outlook Calendar is not retrieving the information from exchange server. Sending email and receiving email works as normal and i can see my outlook status is connected to exchange server.
Any idea how to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
According to your post, I understand that there is an issue when using Scheduling Assistant in Outlook. I noticed that the issue doesn’t exist in OWA or on your colleagues computer.
Please change a new computer with your domain account to login to check whether the issue persists. If the issue doesn’t continue in new computer, the issue may be caused by some third-party programs in your original computer. We can disable them and perform
a clean boot in Windows for the computer to have a try:

  • Outlook 2010 Scheduling Assistent - No free busy information can be received.

    Folks:
I have recently upgraded to Outlook 2010 running on Windows 7 x64.  My email is exchange based. My machine is not a member of the domain my exchange server is in.
I access it my a stored credential.
Everything is fine except for Scheduling assistant.  All the folks invited to a meeting (except for myself) show up as "No Information Available".
I have found plenty of posts that suggest this is also a Outlook 2007 issue, and that creating a key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar\UseLegacyFB
(value 1) solves the issue.  (Example:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/c765605d-27a7-4784-993c-925394e2e09f)  I did create the key on my Outlook 2010 machine - but in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar
key.  It is not resolving my issue.
Does anyone know the Outlook 2010 solution to this issue?  Note:  I have Administrative privilege on my Client - but no privilege on the server.  I need to get
Outlook 2010 to interface with Exchange 2007.
    John

    Hi John,
Thank you for using Outlook IT Pro Discussions forum.
From your description, I understand that you are using Outlook 2010 and Exchange account.
There is no free busy information when using scheduling assistant. If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.
First, you must be using an Exchange server and everyone must publish their free/busy information.
Check from File > Options > Calendar Options > Free/Busy Options.
Make sure the month value for publishing is not zero.
Also, I found a similar thread here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-GB/exchangesvradmin/thread/5991f3b6-f0cc-432f-82c6-f24da0a42862
You can also try the suggestions in that thread to recreate the web services virtual directory
    ===============
    1. Remove-WebServicesVirtualDirectory -identity "Servername\EWS (Default Web Site)" -identity "Servername\EWS (Default Web Site)"
    2. IISReset –noforce
    3. New-WebServicesVirtualDirectory
    4. IISReset –noforce
If this problem persists, it might be related to some settings on the Exchange server side. You can also post this thread in Exchange server forum:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-GB/exchangesvradmin/threads
Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything I can do for
you, please feel free to let me know.
    Best Regards,
    Sally Tang

  • Assigned to multiple users not displaying in Outlook 2010

    Hi All,
First time on here, so please be kind.
Running SharePoint 2013 with Outlook 2010 and when I connect a Task list to outlook it only displays the first assigned to user in Outlook.
Thank you in advance for any help.

    Hi,
It doesn't support multiple users in "Assigned To" column to sync with Outlook by design, so only the first user in the “Assigned To” column can be synced to Outlook.
Here is a similar thread which is about SharePoint 2010, but it is the same about the Connect to Outlook feature in SharePoint 2013 (if Sync to Outlook feature is disabled in the farm):
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/14ce1155-8bdf-43d4-9a3d-7183feb4bd56/synchronizing-sharepoint-2010-tasks-with-multiple-users-in-assigned-to-with-outlook-2010?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious
For Sync to Outlook feature, only the tasks assigned to you will be synced to your Outlook.

  • Problem with Assigning Policy button in Outlook 2010 and Exchange 2010

First of all, I'm posting here because I'm not sure how to post in the previous version of Exchange forums.
Secondly, I'm re-posting this from the Outlook forums as I'm not getting any responses there despite of views.
    Hi,
I'm having an issue in Outlook 2010 where I can't assign personal policies to folders. I have setup personal tags and added the mailbox to the right policy. I have also ran Start-MangedFolderAssistant in Exchange 2010 Shell against the mailboxes.
When I go into OWA, everything shows up perfectly, I can right-click and assign policies at will, but when I open Outlook 2010 then the Assign Policy button never appears. I force added it to the ribbon and I can see from there that the button stays grayed
out irregardless of where I click in the folder structure. I have even assigned the mailbox user Owner rights to all the folders to see if it will  make a difference.
If anyone can help me solve this problem I will very grateful, I'm pulling my hair out here and I'm certain I could just be missing something very obvious somewhere,
It might be worth mentioning that the company has been using .prf files to configure Outlook thus far, I'm
looking to eliminate that. I'm not sure if that will have any effect on my current problem.
    Thanks for your time.
    Nico

Thanks for the reply Max, that's a pretty good link.
Like is I said though, I have the policies all set up in the Exchange configuration side of things, when I use OWA all the options for applying tags appear. It's just in Outlook 2010 Standard that the Assign Policy button stays grayed out.
    Thanks.
    EDIT:
This has been solved, looks like version problem with Outlook.

I tried Office 365 and didn't like the way it felt so I uninstalled it and now my Outlook 2010 will not function property. 2010 will not send or receive emails
I get a message when I launch 2010 that reads:
There is no email account associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.
Everything worked until I added Office 365 and then uninstalled it.
    HELP,

    Dear Fred,
In Outlook 2010, check the Sync issues folder - to do this click the small folder icon in the bottom left hand corner)(under
the other folders in the Home tab). Here you can see the Sync related issue are getting logged. Get us the error info what you notice. Please try to install Microsoft Office Outlook Connector:

  • I have a rotating shift schedule that I work. Is there anyway to have this schedule on the home screen of my iphone so I can just open it up?

I work a rotating shift. I would like to post my shift schedule on the home page (screen with all the apps) so I can access my schedule easier. Is this possible?

You cannot post a shortcut to the calendar app. There wouldn't be a way unless you access this schedule via Safari, where you could post a shortcut.

  • Office 365 email deployment using Outlook 2010 and PRF files

    Hi,
I've been struggling to get Outlook 2010 setup with a new Office 365 deployment. I would like to use custom PRF files to get the new Outlook profiles configured. I have more than 100 users.
One of PRF files I'm using is shown at the end of this message. Each user will get a custom PRF file with his/her information already configured (mailbox, server name, etc...). I've obtained the corresponding Exchange server using:
    Get-Mailbox <email> | select ExchangeGUID
I've attached the domain at the end of the GUID and then that's the Exchange server. It matches what you get with Outlook using Autodiscover.
Using these PRF fies I'm able to create a new default profile and set all the parameters as if I had create the profile manually. Two problems here though:
    1) I don't know what to change in the PRF file to set the Logon Network Security to Anonymous Authentication under the Security tab (Exchange account properties)
    2) When Outlook asks me for the username and password, it won't take it, and I know I'm using the right credentials. If I create the profile manually (not using Autodiscover) and I use the same configuration parameters in the PRF file, everything is ok. I have
already run all the updates and tools that come as part of Setup Desktop in Office 365. Actually I get the same results with Outlook 2013.
I'm looking for some help here or ideas how to roll Office 365 without having to go user by user and creating a new profile and waiting for Autodiscover to finish :)

Wow, even if we were to find out what to add to the PRF, it turns out each user mailbox has it's own unique server name (aka Virtual Connection Point). I cannot believe two departments of Microsoft aren't talking to each other!!!! ..... wait, that always
happens. 1 week later and probably 100 hours later I am just going to create a simple how-to for each user.
Here is the link I just found explaining the "virtual connection points". http://www.blackmanticore.com/2c209fbaa93ae6cf8f8dac5b50281f2e
I'm sure NEXT YEAR Microsoft will catch up with itself and add this option/feature in the Office Customization Tool to create PRF files that will actually work with their services.
