24 bit live external remote versatili

Hello!
I was just wondering if there was any patch available so that the remote that comes with this sound card can be used to control windows media player at all?
I figure if the buttons on the side of my computer can be programmed to do so, the input from that can do the same? Even if its just to pause and play tracks..
cheers!

The Admin of one of the Revolt Fan sites says that revolt get error's all the time, because of my creative soundcard. He helped another person with it, and that person had to change moherboard! I am not sure what a motherboard is, but i don't want to change soundcard. This Soundcard Works soo good. Revolt supports EAX, but the admin says that i should turn it off. It will cause file damage/deleting (only in the "levels" folder)? when getting error message. I Am not sure, what he said because it was a month ago i talked about it. And Also: It is not Exactly Revolt that i am getting errors from, but a kind of patch, that RST (as the Adminstrator is named) made for all who wants Extra features and Windows Vista playing. I will ask him about what is going wrong and what that is required to play it with the "Phoenix R3" as the "patch" is called. If you want, i could take screenshots of the settings of my Soundcard and the settings that revolt supports.

  • External/Remote Images no longer appear in Design View!

    Hi,
    First post here.
Suddenly external/remote images in Dreamweaver CS3 no longer appear when viewed in Design View.
All I get now is grey boxes!
I have tried toggling 'Display External Files' on and off, made sure Cache is off (tried it with on too) and nothing seems to make a difference.
If anyone could help please, it's so annoying
    Thanks,
    James

I'm an experienced web designer, 10+ years so you will have to trust me my code is fine.
It just shows the grey boxes in place of where the images should be.

  • 16-bit color w/ Remote Desktop Connection?

I am using Remote Desktop Connection v1.03 on my Powerbook. Whenever I connect to my PC, I can only choose 15-bit color quality, however the program I want to run on the PC requires 16- bit color and thus won't run.
On the PC itself there is no problem, it displays millions of color at 32-bit, but I don't get this option when connecting remotely. It is running XP sp1 with I believe a 32mb GForce card.
I have also tried tweaking the RDC options but nothing seems to work.
Does anyone know how I can get 16-bit color through Remote Desktop Connecxtion?
    15" 1.5ghz Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

16bit colour is the default maximum colour depth for RDP connections to a windows terminal server. You can increase this by editing the local group policy object on the windows machine.
Go to start->run and type gpedit.msc
Browse to Computer Configuration/Administrative Template/Windows Components/Terminal Services and edit the "Limit Maximum colour depth properties" key. Set it to enabled and select 24 bit. Click OK close group policy editor. You should now be able to get 24bit colour over RDP connections.

  • SB 24-bit Live: Audio to speakers and external record

I'm trying to set everything up so that I can record gameplay to later use in movies. Currently the setup is just from the computer out to a VCR. Everything works fine video wise, but I'm unsure how I can setup the Soundblaster 24-bit Li've! External to output to the two sources (Normal speakers, and the VCR to record).

  • My Book Live Duo Remote Access

I currently have an iMac and use Time Machine to back up my desktop to a My Book Live Duo External Drive.
My Book Live is supposed to allow for remote access to files. When I click on WD2go app, I can see the public shares as well as the Time Machine Share. However, when I try to see the files in the Time Machine Share remotely, I don't have files that can be accessed.
I know the back up is successful because I can see the files on the external drive when I am on the desktop. Does Time Machine put the backup files in a certain format such that I can't see them remotely on my iphone or ipad.
I also have a Windows desktop that also backsup to My Book Live Duo. I use the WD Smarware to backup that desktop. Unlike the Time Machine backup, I have no problem see and accessing the files backed up through WD Smartware.
Has anyone else experienced this problem??

I'm seeing the same pattern; Updated my system to 02.43.10-048 (from 02.11.09-053) and got a message with just ??? in Event Title and Description and nothing in the event code. An hour later I get a message about temp returning to normal (event code 2003). Everything was fine for about 30 hours, then I got ??? messages every 30 minutes followed by an event code 2003 for about 4 hours (middle of the night, no activity on the drive) yesterday I started to get a series of these with a scattering of notices of successful firmware updates (and corresponding reboots) with no change in the firmware version. We turned off auto-update. Just adding data to the thread at this point, the system is at home and I'm in the office so I can't do any real investigation on it.

  • RMBP, Windows 7 64 bit, thunderbolt external drive

I finally figured out how to install and run Win 7 off of my thunderbolt drive (seagate).
the rMBP requires a FAT partition to be created on the interal SSD.  If you use bootcamp utility it creates a huge 20GB partition.  I was able to create a small FAT partition on the internal SSD and then proceed to install and run win 7 off of the external thunderbolt drive.
    PROCEDURE:
    1.  run diskutil command:
    Code:
    diskutil list
you will need to know if your internal SSD is disk0 or disk1 (in this guide it was disk0
    2.  Create the small partition:
***my ssd is a 512 GB drive, you can break down the partition here ***
    Code:
    diskutil resizevolume /dev/disk0s2 494G MS-DOS FAT 5G
    3.  Within Mac, create a single msdos partition on the external thunderbolt drive.  (GUID or MBR)
    4.  for the rMBP, use the Bootcamp assistant utility to create your USB windows 7 installer from an iso and also with the bootcamp drivers.
    5.  Reboot and press the option key at the chime.
    6.  Choose the windows installer
    7.  at the drive screen of the installer you will see your 2 drives. drive0 maybe the external.  Format the external drive ntfs and then install to the drive.
    8.  On reboot and eventually install bootcamp drivers.
    Trial and error:
I tried install without internal partition and received 0x8030024 error which in some of apple forums can be overcome by removing the main drive.  I did this but installer would freeze.
Good luck.  If you need any help let me know.
    see forum for complete disscussion
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1414769

I have a related question. I have a 2012 top-of-the-line iMac with Thunderbolt, and I already have the internal SSD partitioned into both Mac and Bootcamp running Windows 7 64 bit. The internal hard drive is also partitioned into both mac and PC hard drives  I just added a 4 TB external Thunderbolt drive (Seagate Backup Plus using the external Seagate Thunderbolt adapter/dock), and I do NOT want to install Windows bootcamp on the external drive - I just want to partition it so that the Mac has access to 2 TB and Bootcamp has access to the other 2 TB. Using Mac Disk Utility, I can easily partition it, although I can't format the PC side into NTSF. However, when I startup using Windows, it doesn't seem to recognize either of the external hard drive partitions that the Mac side already recognizes. The Mac side even assigned little icons (automatically) to both partitions showing the Seagate harddrive docked in its little Thunderbolt adapter/dock. The PC side didn't assign icons, and didn't recognize either partition UNTIL I WENT INTO PC DISK MANAGEMENT AND FORMATTED THE PC PARTITION AGAIN, as NTSB.  Now the PC side recognizes the Windows Partitions, but still doesn't recognize the Mac partition - it says that partition hasn't been formatted yet. Oddly, the Mac side still recognizes both partitions even after I changed the PC version. So what's going on here? Does Windows require some sort of Thunderbolt driver in order to correctly recognize an external hard drive that Mac Disk Utility has formatted? I didn't have this problem on the internal hard drive that come in my iMac - it's recognized easily by both PC and Mac.
I am using only the Windows NTSF partition on the external hard drive at the moment. I transferred all my Steam games to it as an experiment (about 350 GB). The games are running just fine, but it seems that the frame rates and speeds are slower than they were on the original internal hard drive. I bought the external Thunderbolt drive because it was supposed to be faster.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks!

As with the original issue, your problem is likely with the Edge server. The first thing I would do is check all of your ports and DNS settings.
Remember that Edge may use somewhat unique ports for AV if you, or the federation target, used a single IP address. If you haven't, see if you have that unique port open on the firewall. If you used a single IP address, ensure that the federation target
has the correct port open also.

  • Solved Crackling Problem in Windows 7 (SB 24-bit USB External, HP Pavilion dv6 1124-ca laptop).

I'm one of many users who has had problems with the sound crackling problem with their sound card after upgrading to Windows 7.
I was previously on Windows Vista running 5. with 24-bit, 96000Hz sample rate Studio Quality with no problems at all. When I upgraded to Windows 7 RC, Windows was able to automatically find a driver for my external USB sound card, but when playing music, I always got a constant crackling sound coming from the speakers while trying to put the card in anything above 2. or and when putting it in 24-bit 96000Hz, the crackling only got worse. Installing the Beta drivers on the Creative site didn't work either... still had the crackling. I searched around for the past several months for solutions to no avail.
Then today, I was surfing the HP website (I have a HP Pavilion dv6 24-ca laptop) to see if they had added Windows 7 drivers to their support site and they did... and so I started downloading all available Windows 7 drivers for my specific laptop. When I first installed Windows 7 RC, it had installed it's own drivers for everything (on-board sound etc.). After replacing the Windows 7 installed "High Definition Audio Device" drivers with the HP supplied "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC" drivers... I'm not sure if the on board sound driver has anything at all to do with the crackling on the Soundblaster but I replaced the drivers anyway. I also installed another driver called "AMD USB Filter" that was supplied by the HP website for Windows 7 which is another driver that I thought might help with the problem. Other drivers installed were "ENE CIR Reciever Driver" and "Realtek Card Reader Driver" but those have nothing to do with the sound card.
After installing the drivers from the HP website, I no longer get the crackling from the speakers when playing in 5.. I am also now able to select 24-bit 96000Hz sample rate without crackling as well I am very happy to have finally solved the problem. So to anyone having similar problems, I suggest you check out your manufacturers website to see if they have any drivers available for you... I have a feeling the AMD USB Filter is what solved the problem... but who knows.
Hope this helps other HP users!

Try this video let me know if it helps you out.

If you can hear the music through the speakers but not the headphones I would suggest using an AUX cable because seems the sound isn't being transmitted over.
Just a friendly note here. Don't buy the wireless turtle beaches I have the x32s and I'm continuously buying batteries !

  • Windows 7 64 bit USB external hard drives lose its connection and stops working.

This is a very serious error for users of WIN 7 64 bit only.
I have read hundreds of posts about this problem an not a word about it from MS.
We have tested this problem on four different computers and three different external hard drives using Win 7 Ultimate.
    Even tried the RTM version.
If you connect "Any brand" external USB hard drive to "Any brand of computer" using Win 7 (64 bit only) and try to copy a large file like a movie from the internal drive to the external USB drive it loses the connection to the USB.
We even reverted back to Vista 64 bit on two computers for testing but Vista 64 works fine.
This occurs on all computers with different USB drives.
We have tried all the suggestions posted and none work.
It seems from all the posts that other USB devices are also having similar problems with the 64 bit.
Below is a more about this problem.
    http://windows7tipsonline.com/USB_Problem.htm
If anyone knows how to resolve this please post a reply here.
    Thanks

The link only refers to USB problems with nVidia chips, so it's not a universal problem.  I have Win 7 x64 RTM installed and I just transfered 2 4GB DVD files and 1 18GB backup file from my internal SATA drive to my external USB drive
with no problems - no time-out!
<text>Since nVidia chipsets seem to be the culprit, nVidia and the motherboard manufacturers need to be told about the problem so that nVidia can correct the problem and not
Microsoft.  If it's a nVidia chipset driver/software problem,
Microsoft is not going to fix anything since it's not a universal problem.</text>
I think this answer is a smoke screen, here's why. The issue of a USB HDD losing its connection AND not being recognized on a booting Win 7 x64 in any of its incarnations is a Microsoft issue, not nVidia. I have three PCs (actually 4 but one is in storage so
doesn't count) to see firsthand what happens with this issue. One, is a maxed out Toshiba with Windows Pro x64. Every now and then, it asks to format any number of my USB drives. I have Seagates, Iomegas, Western Digitals, and an OLD Maxtor. The Toshiba OS
will from time to time claim the Iomega and WD drives need formatting or have a wrong parameter etc. It doesn't do this with the Seagates or Maxtor. does the Tosh have nVidia chipsets? Yes. OK, now I attach these dives to my Dell Inspiron run by Windows Vista
Home Basic and intel Graphic Chip. The HDDs fire up right away. OK, I stick them into the ASUS G75VW-RS72, a DTR notebook on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. The machine has nVidia chipsets. Sometimes the HDDs fire up right away (Maxtor is never a problem), sometimes
they don't. What do I do? Unplug, replug-sometimes works sometimes not.  Turn off the computer, turn it back on-sometimes works sometimes not. Unplug and put into another USB port-sometimes works sometimes not. Unplug and leave unplugged for anywhere
from 10 seconds to half an hour-sometimes works sometimes not. Switched to different external enlosure or the same or different brand-sometimes works sometimes not. Remove the HDD and put into a NetStar portable dock with its own power supply(http://www.vantecusa.com/en/product/view_detail/295).
Result? The computers NEVER, not EVER, even ONCE demonstrated an issue with the drive. Other times, I remove the HDD and employ a converter (http://www.sabrent.com/category/hard-drive-enclosures/USB-DSC5/). Result? The computers NEVER, not EVER, even ONCE
demonstrated an issue with the drive. So I think the evidence suggests Windows is finicky and Microsoft is passing the buck on this.

  • SB Live External with Vi

    Hi Friends,
? I installed Vista and my SB li've card didn't work so I bought a USB Li've External. It came with a Vista disk. I use my sound card to mostly play along with midi or mp3s. I can't hear the line in. I can turn on Playback Monitoring but my input signal?is about /4 of a second behind. I have downloaded updates and nothing changes. I also have no mixer to change the volumn of midi or Line in. I have searched the archi'ves and found a few references to the subject but no solution.
I must be missing something. If you could point me to the info or the right thread I would be much grateful.
    Thank You
    Jerry

    Hi.
I have exactly the same problem.
    My specs are:
USB Sb li've 24 bits external?
    Intel Celeron M530
    2ghz DDR2 Ram
    Intel 945 Chipset
    Windows Vista Basic 32 bits
    Latest Bios and Drivers installed
With the latest Creative vista driver (.0.0002) and the latest audio center (.0.2)?i can't activate mic/line in monitoring under "mixer section".
In the support page (download section),?if you go to the Audio?Center download details,?it says to check out the sbusb.sys driver version under device manager...well, there is none of that in windows/system32/drivers and if you extract the latest driver there isn't?a sbusb.sys file?in that pack either.
Also the latest creative smart recorder just records loud noise if you choose 24bits and wave file options (this happens with the latest vista driver).
    So i guess this is?an huge?driver bug.
I wrote to creative support a few days ago but no answer till now.
BTW, with the previous vista driver i had mic/line in levels to?control under Playback section (windows vista sound panel) so i could control the incoming signal. But that driver is buggy and it causes random playback and recording distortions.
    Hope someone can help us.

  • SB Live External Problems finding & using a good acoustic Piano soundf

I recently acquired a 24-bit SB Li've! external soundcard which I use with my laptop computer and midi keyboard for playing piano-type music. I'm a newbie, so bear with me here. I'm trying to find a decent, full, rich-sounding, sampled acoustic grand piano soundfont. The free one's I've downloaded from the Internet are apparently too big because I get error messages like "not enough memory" and something about "cache size." The electric piano soundfonts I purchased and used from Sonic Implants work very well. I really like them. So, here's the question: Where can I get a good, rich acoustic piano soundfont that will work with my SB Li've! external soundcard? What should I do? Thank you. --sixtoeightfeet

Can you/You can set the cache as "dynamic"? You get the settings panel opened by pressing the MIDI Devices -button.

  • New installation of a SB Live External on an HP DV6000 notebook with Vista H

Hey GuysJust loaded up my new HP with an external 24 bit SB li've and when I go to the mixer panel I was expecting to see (along with Master vol and CD Audio), gain controls for Line in and Micrphone. But there is no sliders for either. Has anybody ran across this problem yet?I really need to be able to control my microphone and a line in through the mixer for Muting and such. Kinda disappointing that it's not on the mixer when the inputs are on the device itself.

Hi Nishant... I have exactly the same problem... and I read what you wrote in Tom' hardware forum. For all that you wrote and all the tests that I have done I came to a conclusion, it is also a problem of compatibility between the BIOS and bigger capacity Disks... Many years ago when installing a bigger HDD in an older computer that I had, the computer would do the same, wouldn't start for the same reason. I found out that the BIOS didn't support higher HDD, however, partitioning the disk and formatting it with FAT 32 File System made the disk be recognizable by the BIOS. I did the same with my dv6000 (5th or 6th time it boots) I booted from a CD with the Acronis Software for disk installation and after installing the Disk with 1 single partition with FAT32 the problem was gone... My problem is that my recovery CD from HP partitions and format again with NTFS =((... so Im going for Ubuntus instead, now, when I plugged the battery (which hadn't been used in months and seem to having died) it started having problems again... that BIOS is just too very picky, these guys from Phoenix Technologies tried too hard to make it start super fast so that they sacrificed Quality in the BIOS setup.
I would suggest you try partitioning and formatting with FAT32 File System if it doesn't work the only way to make it work would be to find a good BIOS ( that HP hasn't provided) or else try to find an editor and play with your BIOS which is quite risky. I'll keep trying to make stable though I never give up! if you find anything I will appreciate any additional good results in your case -- erik_apl at yahoo dot com dot mx
