24 Hour Clock on iCal

My Time/Date Preferences on system preferences are set to the 24 hour clock and I thought that this flowed through to my iCal times. My times on iCal are now AM/PM. Is there a way to get it back to the other clock?

Well, this setting is in the International area of the system preferences but rather than setting your region to your local area, you need to customize how the time is displayed.

  • Silly bug: iCal notification w/ 24-hour clock includes meridian qualifier

This is a silly bug that QA seems to have missed:
If you use 24-hour clock setting, iCal notifications will come up looking like:
    Meeting: 16:00 pm
This is downright redundant, and it's repetitive too!
    iPhone   Mac OS X (10.4.10)   8GB

does it really do this? I haven't noticed, now i have to check/pay attention!
I also use 24-hr clock, and if true, that IS annoying! :X

how do I change ical out of the 24 hour clock so my events say 2:00PM insetad of 14:00

    melodyfred,
Quit iCal, go to System Preferences...>Language & Text>Formats>Region: and set/reset the appropriate region.
Log out/in or restart and iCal should display the a.m./p.m. format.

  • HT2513 24 hour clock issue

I can not get my ical on my Macbook pro to show the time in the 24 hour clock. I reset the computer clock and did a restart, both my iphone and ipad show appointments in the 24 format...any ideas

    Frank,
Check your setting in System Preferences...>Language & Text>Region>Times>Customize...
You will note  Short/Medium/Long/Full fields. I am not sure which one fills iCal, because I have all of mine set for the 24 hour clock. Fill them all as I did or experiment with an individual setting.
Remove the AM/PM and enter/drag Hour/Minute to the time field.
Quit iCal before making the changes, and log out/in, or restart before opening iCal.

  • 24-hour clock (vs. AM & PM)

    I use iCal Version 3.0.8 (1287).
    iCal allows AM and PM.
    With my Mac I use the 24-hour clock (1 PM = 13, Midnignt = 24).
But I do not know how to with iCal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately because many USA persons are used to AM/PM and they actually have a problem with a 24-hour clock. My American-born wife is a good example: my mobile works with a 24-hour clock; if she asks me for the time, I read it and sometimes I answer 17:35 (or whatever in the PM). She -college graduate who also worked as an economic researcher at the University of Pennsylvania and at Columbia University- still does not get it! Obviously she does not care enough to learn it! Except for the military, I guess that many people are too lazy

  • No 24 hour clock in Calendar?

I use a 24 hour clock in everything I do, but it seems to be unavailable in iCal. Is this the case, and if so, why?

    Peter,
Quit Calendar, open System Preferences...>Language & Regions>Regions: and set/-re-set the appropriate Region. Also, make sure the "Time format:" in that preference pane is checked for 24-Hour Time.

  • Hate AM/PM, is there no way to change to 24hr clock in iCal..?

I would really prefer to use a 24 hour clock for my appointments in iCal, how do I change it from AM/PM..??

Good answer..! Didn't realize the time digits can be clicked on and changed to a different format. That did the trick, now I'm in a 24 hour world again..!
    Thanks..!!

  • 12 Hours clock in Exchange after migration

    Hi,

After migration the declined meeting request show their answere in 12 Hours clock.
Servers and Clients have all 24 hours clock.
How is it possible to change that?
Your request was declined because there are conflicts.
    The conflicts are:

    Hi Tech,
Base on my knowledge, the time formats of this message will follow the system time format.
If your system time format is 12 hours clock, the message will be the same.
In addition, 12 hours clock will include "AM" & "PM" words, however there are no these words in your message.
I recommend you check your system time format again, the following screenshot for your reference:

Obvious power issue effecting all back plane jks. Popping HOURLY (clocked) thru speakers, lites up lamp on doc scanner. Has blown power supply once. "Genius" diag NTF twice B4 power supply blew. Still have same trouble. I made very CLEAR to Genius Bar that it was a hardware issue after they continued to trouble shoot software. I was referred to tier 2 who told me they only worked on SOFTWARE. Does anyone know a more qualified shop who can fix an OBVIOUS mother board issue tracing back to the power supply? I had the same issue with a 20" with 7 visits & had to literally take a video of the trouble before they could figure out the trouble was the video card. From reading the sheer number of posts of the same trouble descriptions going back to 2007, it's all too obvious the path to MSFT is being taken.

  • Can Web Intelligence display time in 24-hour clock format?

I would appreciate your kind help in answering this question:  How can I change the time format in a formula so as to display time in the 24-hour clock format?
Presently the CurrentTime() value format looks like this  :  02:26:25 PM GMT-04:00
Instead, I want it displayed in the 24-hour clock format like this  :  14:26
I'm developing Web Intelligence reports in the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.2 InfoView environment.
I searched several places for an answer to this question, but had no luck.
I searched the BusinessObjects Enterprise InfoView online help document (i.e., Web Intelligence Java Report Panel); I also searched two web sites: the Experts-Exchange website, and the BOB www.forumtopics.com website.
I figured out that there is built in conversion function FormatDate() that can convert a date value into a text value, as for example :  FormatDate( CurrentDate(); "mmmm dd, yyyy" )
However, I have not found an equivalent time function that would convert a time value into a text value of a specified format.

    Anil,
         Perfect;  you answered my question!
The only thing that I had to do differently was to leave off the quote marks from the string "HH:mm:ss" when I entered it into the Custom Date/Time box of the Number Format dialog window.
While on this subject of the Number Format dialog window, I saw that the Date/Time box already held the following string value:
                    FULL_DATE
So, thinking that I should leave that value alone, I entered the string "HH:mm:ss" in the box labeled "Undefined" next to the Date/Time box, instead.  That didn't work.  It just caused the webi report to display the CurrentTime() value as a long date, like this:
                   Friday, July 9, 2010
So then I replaced the string "FULL_DATE" (without the quotes) with the string "HH:mm:ss" (first with and then without the quotes).  In the first try, the report displayed the time as "14:20:34"; in the second try, the report displayed the time as 14:20:34.
         Questions:
         Can you please tell me:
         1. What is the meaning and usage of the label FULL_DATE?
         2. In my attempts to get the time formatted the way I wanted it to look, I filled the Properties list (of the Number Format dialog window) with junk labels such as those listed below.  How can I delete these labels?
                   FULL_DATE; "HH:mm:ss"
                   FULL_DATE
                   FULL_DATE
                   FULL_DATE; "HH:mm:ss"
         3. What is the purpose of the box labeled "Undefined" next to the Date/Time box?

  • Leading zeros with 24-hour clock?

I have my system preferences set to 24-hour clock.
How do I get the times to display with leading zeros?
For example, 06:45 instead of 6:45?

As I said before, you need to explore. I was able to add it in less than 30 seconds.
Let me try to explain. It is easy to do, but more difficult to explain.
Go to Sys Prefs/Int'l/Formats pane. Choose Custom in the Times area. Choose Medium in the Show drop down menu. (Medium seems to be the one used by OS X for the menu bar clock.) Here you can arrange the order of the different components as you like. Notice they have little arrows indicating drop down menus. Most of the optional formats offer a leading zero.
Even though you have formatted it in the Int'l pane, you must choose for some of your formating to show in the Date & Time/Clock pane.
    Good Luck.

  • Hour clocks?

II'm looking to have a pie chart where I can show a one hour clock
i am helping out at a radio station and need to have an accurate template of when presenters play songs, talk, play ads and so forth. Is this possible in Numbers?
sorry if it's a dumb question. The iOS 8 version which I just got on my iPhone 6 plus has me amazed! Just hoping some one can give some simple
    instructions for this novice!

Select both columns and insert a pie chart.
Select all segments (shift click) and set no fill.
    Set  Stroke to line
Labels choose data point names, not values
Adjust distance from centre to put labels outside the circle.
Copy the whole pie and paste. On the duplicate, remove wedge borders, hide labels, rotate 15 degrees.
    Overlay the two pies.
I hope this screen shot shows.

  • 12 hour clock

    hey all-
i just finished this tutorial from flash kit on how to
produce a 12 hour clock. i have it kinda figured out and was hoping
for some guidance on a few bugs. 1) how do you account for the
"0's"? say its 4:09pm. my clock reads 4 :9pm. how do you make it
where the single digit hours are to the rightside (sans 0 to the
left) and the single digit minutes read with a 0?
    2) the month seems to be off, any reasons?
you can find the fla here:
    www.chollowaydesign.com/clock.htm
    thanks!

the month starts a 0 not 1 so january would be 0
    for your minutes just say
    if(minutes<10){
    minutes = "0"+minutes;
    well something like that
