24" iMac crashes and goes "BOOP! BOOP! BOOP!"
I have a 1/2 year old 24" iMac. For the past couple weeks, I've had a few experiences where it will suddenly crash (screen goes dark) and it makes this REALLY loud "BOOP! BOOP! BOOP!" sound. And when I say loud, I mean "hear it from across the house" loud. It is really loud, and really alarming. I have no idea what's causing this, although it almost always happens when it's playing some sort of film clip, like a trailer on the Apple.com trailers site. I have to hold down the power key behind the screen to get it to start, but then upon restart it seems to be fine... until it does it again. Anyone have an idea about what's causing this? I'm baffled. Thanks very much for any assistance.
Hi David,
I have the same problem...On my end I think that it's related to my
digidesign hardware,...It's something with the digi coreaudio.
Maybe there are other coreaudio devices that conflict with the apple
drivers...? Chk Activity monitor and see if coreaudio is RED.
After uninstalling ProTools the imac has been running fine...
Knock on wood...

Hello,
I have an issue where my iMac crashes and reboots 9/10 times when I log my wife's account off. I'd like to get it resolved as it is very annoying. We switch between accounts all the time and everytime it crashes I lose a bunch of info from my account. Can anyone help me understand how to fix this issue?
After the reboot a window tells me that my system has recovered from a seriour issue (sounds much like Window$ to me...) and a crash report is show:

Imac crashed and will not boot up
So my iMac crashed and will not boot. The power will come on and when it switches to the boot sequence it powers off. I bought Black Tie protection at Best Buy but when I took it to them they shipped it to Apple. The problem was never fixed. Apple said it was a software issue to reload the OS. Well i did that and not even a day went by and it is doing the same thing. Any suggestions would be helpful...
I agree with BGreg that you should run Apple Hardware Test , however run it in Extended Mode. If no errors turn up run it several times. It's a lengthy test so be patient. Also here is what Apple says about your symptoms in Gray progress bar appears under Apple logo during startup.
I hope you have been backing up your system, if not then if you can boot into Safe Mode as suggested you should immediately backup using either a clone or Time Machine. That should be the #1 priority to preserve your data. -
IMac crashing and restarting randomly
Starting this morning my iMac has started randomly crashing and restarting on its own. This has happened 3-4 times today. It seems to happen when the computer is going to sleep or waking up or something around sleep. I have no idea how to even begin troubleshooting this issue. Where do I start?
I checked the system.log and see this message repeated over and over again:

Ipad 2 crashes and goes to "connect to itunes"
For several months now, my kid's ipad 2 has been unstable. Apps frequently crash and, worse, the ipad itself crash almost twice or trhice per month. Then, the display goes to the screeen with the usb cable and "connect to itunes" message. The only option is to restore the ipad with itunes. This is very annoying.
Any help?Your iPad is in Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions below to recover your iPad.

My late 2012 iMac 3.4Ghz i7 running 10.9.5 crashed on me last night while working in Safari (on the USPS site). After restarting the machine now randomly crashes and restarts. When I leave the machine after a few hours I always find it on the login window. I login and I get the message that the machine crashed and restarted. I booted to my recovery partition and did a repair disk and repaired permissions, but it's still happening. Can anyone help before I call AppleCare? Thanks!!!

Can anyone help? I'm getting very frustrated since last update my IPhone and IPad Mini keep crashing. I will be in e middle of games or browsing or making a phone call!, and it crashes and brings up the black screen with the white Apple in the middle. It take a few mins to open again!!! Very annoying. May have to Restore??
First thing to try is a reset: Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

IMac crashing and freezing continuously
Since 2 weeks, after years of 0 problems, my iMac is continuously freezing or crashing when I use Apple software (Mail, Software Update, Garageband).
I've installed Kaspersky and even reinstalled Mac OS Lion, same problem.
It goes away temportarily when I restart cleaning the PRAM. or turning off the extensions.Boot from your installer dvd and use Disk Utility to repair/verify your drives.
Remove Kaspersky. -
Iphone crashes and goes back to main menu
my iphone has begun crashing when i play music and then try to go to the phone or safari apps. the whole phone doesn't crash but the music stops abruptly and it goes to the main menu instead of where i want it to go. i've seen a few other posters with this problem but wanted to let others know that it's not so isolated an incident.
If resetting and power cycling the iphone does not resolve the issue, you might want to restore the iphone.
Here is a link to an article on the Apple support site the will help in restoring the iphone.

How to fix iPad 3G frequent crashes and going to reboot loop
II'm having problems with my iPad 3G iwi-fi it always crashes while using and sometimes it goes to a reboot loop. I tried everything reset, pressing the home and power buttons, and even restored it many times but still the problems can't be fixed. Is there someone knows what to do?
If anyone has faced this issue and was able to fix it, I am hoping from you to share your fix.
If no fix is there, so i can take it to be fixed since it is not under warranty, and wehre i live it will cost a lot for fixing -
IMac starts and goes off after a few seconds
My iMac turns on and after doing the usual sound goes OFF! Any advise?
Hi,
Check for Login Items Open System Preferences/Accounts then select the Login Items tab. Delete any files or apps you have listed there. And go to /Library/Startup Items. Move any files in the Startup Items folder to the Trash.
If login items aren't the issue, probably a good time to boot from your install disc, run Disk Utility to verify and if necessary, repair any errors on the startup disk.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
(In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first from the installer menu)
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*
If you cannot boot from your install disc, try booting in Safe Mode

Original iMac crashes and doesn't start
I have the original iMac from like 4 years ago, I do not have the original software disc, I have newer mac's with the install disc, theses are intel, dueo disc.
I get the happy Mac chime when I start, I did run the original hardwear tester CD, everything is fine (it did take a long time on the memory test)
computer hardly ever starts when it does it crashes soon after. (dark grey dialogue box in center of screen)
Could this have anything to do with installing newer intel core dueo disc after completly erasing the original system softeware ?
Could it be that the memory has gone bad ? I've reset pram, switched and removed accessories, etc etc.First, you should identify your iMac model more precisely. The "original" iMac had a translucent blue-green case with a CRT display inside, but it does not sound your model is THAT old, especially if it was new when you got it "4 years ago."
Here is a list of all the iMac models.
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/index-imac.html
If you can identify your iMac model precisely, or at least more closely, you will get more helpful responses. One key distinction is whether it has a PowerPC (such as "G5") processor, or an Intel processor. You are posting in the category for the iMac G5 (PowerPC not Intel). -
My iPod Touch 8GB 4th Gen, 6.1.3., has recently been crashing/going slow in a lot of applications and while typing. It's also been failing to download/save images from Google Search. I'm thinking of either restarting/rebooting it or just buying a new one. What should I do?

Contact the developer/go to their support site if only one app.
