24" LCD ACD dead on Nvidia geforce120 on pc

Hi. I installed the Nvidia Geforce 120 in my pc in order to use the 24" ACD. The card works fine and upgraded my performance with my old 20" Apple DVI display, but the new monitor is cold and dark.
By the way, does it even have a pilot light?
I played with the plugs, resolution, booted in safe mode--nothing.
Any ideas? Thanks!

It was another case of D.O.A
I took the monitor back to the store and the new one worked beautifully on plug in.
I haven't figured out how to disarm the monitor's speakers and let my own play, but that'll have to wait untll I catch up on time lost:
Apple quality control? I probably spent 25 hours or more fooling with the dead monitor, trying software, video drivers, researching on the web, asking tech people I know, etc. My lowest professional hourly rate is $30 x 25 = $750, exactly what I paid for the monitor (including tax).
Chalk it up.

Hi, Ive noticed a few dead pixels on my G20 notebook. What is the procedure, by how many pixels must be dead, before Toshiba will service/replace the G20 notebook?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
Unfortunately, the only way to fix such issues is a display replacement.
    Please check this Toshiba document:
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB5400ZD0002R01.htm
There you will find a information about a maximum permissible number and type of pixel fault that your Toshiba LCD monitor can exhibit per 1 million pixels

  • No Warranty for LCD Pixel dead for a new Laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-EZ1523

    Hey,
I bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-EZ1523 Laptop in Oct 2009. In January 2010 My motherboard went dead so I have sent the laptop to the Toshiba Depot Center initially they said they will repair it and send it within 3 - 5 Business day but they took nearly 15 days to ship it back.
Once I have received there is the big surprise. One of the pixel on my screen is dead and I tired calling the Toshiba customer care at 1-800-457-7777 and the transfer the call to Depot center which takes nearly 40 to 50 mins to get an engineer on the call for which we need so much of patients.
Today I requested to transfer the call to the Case Manager and when I told her about the problem she again tells me to call the depot and file a case with them and the UPS for the damage and she also mentioned that there is no warranty covered for the LCD Screen.
But when I shipped the laptop to the Toshiba Depot I don't had any dead pixels. Im tired calling Toshiba can anyone help me out.
    Regards,
    Prem.

I got problem with my Toshiba tecra A9 laptop. There is thick black line at the corner of LCD, I contacted 2 toshiba service centers but they paased me to the Toshiba support. They said that Toshiba will not pay us for LCD repair and asked me to call toshiba support and ask for their autorisation. I also called toshiba support several times, but they just make me confused. They said randomly some bizzare phrases: the service centers should aks us for autorisation no., LCD did not coverd by warranty, You made a physical damage, contact another service center, we will contact you within this business day...
The reason I have bought Tecra model was that toshiba called it as bussiness class, and offered a 3 years limited warranty!!! But the warranty is a whole fake to cheat with the clients. They even do not care about business and dont understand how our professional life is depends to our laptop. such a shame for them.
They pay some employees to talk with you several hours, just to deny their warranty and don't give you a good service!
I wonder how they calculate the repaire cost of LCD. I already find wensite which offer the LCD just for 95$. There are lots of replacement guide all over internet. I will suggest toshiba that I can service them for LCD replacement for as low as 150$. That would be a good business for me and a big deal for toshiba! At least Toshiba will not loose their clients.
From my side, I will start to aware all student around me at university to never trust Toshiba quality and warranty services and do not risk their professional life with the toshiba product and services! It seems that Dell is going to be the leader in customer services and hence in future market!

  • Iphone LCD screen dead spot

Hey I have an iphone that I got from a friend as a gift never activated it but it seem as though it has dead spots how do I replace the LCD screen and will apple take it back. I don't know, I had it for a while without even looking at because to be honest I liked my blackberry. So how do I go about getting this fix; do I have to pay extra to get this fix or is it unfixable. I don't have a reciept and my friend didn't keep it. So should I bother with this phone because I'm not going to activate or bother signing up for a plan if this thing isn't going to work.

I've had my iPhone since August with no problems. I love it. Just this morning the very bottom part of the touch screen became unresponsive. The rest of the screen is fine. It's like the sensor in just that part of the screen has gone dead for some reason. Of course this also happens to be the part of the screen where you "slide" to answer a call, and also access the phone, mail, safari, and iPod icons. Also the "slide" to unlock the phone is located in this area. Basically this malfunction has rendered my iPhone unusable. I have turned it off and on, and also reset and restored it through iTunes. None of that works. It appears to be a hardware issue and not software. I wonder if this is a problem that will occur widespread in iPhones after several months use, or if my problem is somewhat isolated?
I'm frustrated as EVERYTHING is on my iPhone. I have an appointment tomorrow at the Genius Bar to have it checked out. Thank goodness I'm near an Apple store or I would be even more frustrated. I also have everything updated and saved on iTunes so it will be easy to personlize my iPhone again once the problem is fixed.

  • Pavilion dv7-4285dx: cannot BOOT/POST to external VGA and internal LCD is dead (cracked)

I have cracked the screen of my HP Pavilion dv7-4285dx so badly that I cannot read anything on it. I am trying to boot to an external monitor on VGA port, but never get a signal.
I have tried the monitor switching key, but that doesn't do anything. I have tried disconnecting the internal LCD from the motherboard - no different. I have tried a CMOS reset by removing the laptop battery, removing CMOS battery, disconnecting power supply and holding power button down for >1 minute, then restarting with just external LCD attached, but STILL no video on VGA port.
The video adapter is okay, as it boots to Windows and then I have video on the external monitor.
Although it's good that I can use the ext. monitor once Windows boots, I need to have video at boot time to make changes to BIOS.
Does anyone have another suggestion of how I can get the BIOS to detect and display to external VGA at boot time?

  • Is my LCD screen dead?

I dropped my 8GB 2G iphone in the sink last friday. I dried it off and it seemed to be fine except for instead of sleeping, it would just turn off and the lcd showed streaks of water. A couple of times after turning on it had a white screen with vertical liines and it would take a bit to turn it off again.
It is under warranty with applecare, but they won't replace it. They offered me the option of buying a new 3g for 199, but I don't want to do that. I hoped that it would keep working and just dry out further and be okay.
Then, on Monday, I went to wake it up and it had a completely white screen and then shut off. I've tried resetting, draining the battery completely and plugging it in and it still doesn't work.
My computer still acknowledges it when plugged in, but the screen stays black. It seems to me that since the phone backs up, updates, still communicates with the computer that it's the lcd that's the problem and a replacement Lcd/digitizer would fix my problem. Am I correct in this assumption? Does anyone have any other suggestions to fix the phone? I really appreciate any help you can offer.

Yes, I fried the screen. The iphone itself still functions and connects to itunes perfectly, but without the use of the screen interface the phone was useless. I guess I'll just keep it as a museum piece. ha.

  • NVIDIA and external monitor

    W520, Windows 7 (64 bit), NVIDIA Quadro 1000M 2GB DDR3, purchased November 2011.
    Problems (related?):
-External monitor remains unrecognized when connected to W520.
-NVIDIA not recognized or working.   Maybe reason external monitor not recognized?
Tried to connect this computer to an HP2511x external monitor (via VGA direct to the computer or through docking station) but the monitor is not recognized.  Last made this connection about a year ago and it worked fine at that time: plugged the VGA cable into the W520 and the external monitor connected automatically, in duplicate mode.  The HP usually is connected to another computer and works fine, and the VGA cable was tested recently and is good. Tried the options at Fn/F7 and windows key/P:  the HP monitor remains black.
Studied the external monitor issue in forums and learned about the NVIDIA comments.   In follow up, I learned that the NVIDIA device is not listed in my Device Manager, under Display Adapters or elsewhere.  Right-clicking the desktop does no bring up the NVIDIA Control Panel.
When I do a search for the NVIDIA Control Panel, this message appears:
“NVIDIA display settings are not available.   You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA  GPU.”  This appears whether VGA connected to the external monitor or not.
I attempted, several times, to download the NVIDIA driver from the NVIDIA site via auto detection.  The auto detect page instructed me to download Java, but Java is already loaded and current.  So I entered the NVIDIA info manually, which eventually lead to this message:
    “NVIDIA Installer failed”
HD Audio Driver – Not Installed
    NVIDIA WMI – Not Installed
    nView – Not Installed
    Graphics Driver – Failed
3D Vision Driver – Not Installed
So, I went to the Lenovo website and downloaded:
“NVIDIA Optimus Display Driver for Windows 7 (64-bit) - ThinkPad”
After a restart, right clicking the desktop still does not show the NVIDIA Control Panel.
    The Device Manager shows:
    -Intel(R) HD Graphic Family
    -Unknown device
I clicked on the Unknown device and read:
    -Device type: Display adapters
    Manufacturer: Unknown
Location: PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0
Device status: Reinstall the driver for this device. (Code 18)
Then I clicked the Reinstall Driver button, which lead to this message:
“Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.  Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.  NVIDIA Quadro 1000M”
I went through the above processes several times to be certain that I did not miss something.
There is a GeForce shortcut on the desktop and when clicked, leads to this message:
“GeForce Experience encountered an error and must close.”
    Tried rebooting to BIOS:
    BIOS>Config>Display: the options are:
-Boot Display Device (ThinkPad LCD) default
    -Graphic Device (NVIDIA Optimus)
-OS Detection for NVIDIA Optimus (enabled)
Changed display to Graphic Device, tapped F10 to save and exit, then save, before computer goes into normal mode.
Try Fn/F7, duplicate, then extend, then projector and in all cases the HP monitor remains black, unrecognized.  Message on W520 screen:
“Unable to connect to a computer.
    No projector was detected.”
So, back to reboot> BIOS>Config>Display were I find that the setup reverted to the default.  Changed display to OS Detection for NVIDIA Optimus disabled.  Save, reboot, Fn/F7 and again no recognition of the HP monitor.  Reboot, BIOS etc, and the display option is back to the original default.
What do I need to do to get NVIDIA and the external monitor working on this W520?
    Thank you.

    Hi RR
    1. Ensure your BIOS is set to NVIDIA Optimus for multiple monitor connectivity.
    2. Download and update your Intel and NVIDIA driver from it's official website. Clicking Intel and NVIDIA will link directly to the download page for latest driver.
    3. If the 2 above succeed, but Fn+F7 still can't display your external monitor. Try right click Desktop > NVIDIA Control Panel > Display > Set up multiple displays. (The only workable method for W520 - Windows 8.1)

  • Macbook Pro Display Blank/Black - Replaced LCD

Hi all - I recently started working on a Macbook Pro for a coworker that had dropped their MBP. The LCD was broken, but the computer was still functional, as I saw that the OS booted normally. So, we ordered a replacement LCD.
The first LCD was dead (or so we thought), so a replacement was given by the LCD distributor. Same deal.
Dead monitor, I have tried the following unsuccessfully:
    -reset PRAM
    -reset PMU
-new inverter, new cable - neither worked
    Any thoughts?

OK--so this is an original MBP. You are in the late 2008-early 2009 section of the forum, so I am going to request that your post be relocated to the original MBP section.
Have you tried an external display? If you get good graphics on an external, it will be further conformation that the graphics chip is OK.
I am puzzled as to why the original display worked, but two separate replacements did not. I have heard of the brightness indicator getting stuck all the way to the left, so that the display remains black. Can you see the desktop at all by shining a bright light through the apple? If so, maybe you could go to System preferences>Desktop and see if the slider is stuck, and if so, move it to the right.
    Good luck!

  • LCD or Inverter?

    Hello,
I have an iMac, 20" (LCD Display, LVDS, LG) / 2.0 Ghz (intel Core Duo) / 2 GB RAM / 500 GB Hard Drive / SD / AP / BT. [EMC 2105-Late 2006].
Making a long story short, my Hard Drive died of old age, and it did so after 3 good years of solid work, was a weird week, first my external One Touch USB drive (yes the one for backups, died too) I was lucky and just at the last second was able to save my music and photos, etc. you might say I got home safe "barely".
Anyhow, following that the internal drive started the characteristic "click, click" I immediately tried to back it again into another drive no such luck again, just in the last minute it gave me a good 6 hours and was able to clone it with super duper (real life saver).
After which everything was working fine, I used an old fire wire HD I had around and used it to boot, everything smooth and then I thought "hmm HD's are not that expensive, internals that is vs a new external I really should just upgrade the HD with a newer and that will be it".
    Yeah right!, Think again!
I go buy a new HD and then start opening the iMac wow, what a nightmare with the shielding and the metal enclosure for the LCD, took ages to open that being really, really careful well, finally I did, all cables were fine, swapped the HD with the new one, everything was great.
Re-Assembled the iMac and bummer, no LCD, I plug in my external drive and monitor, and surprise you see video (on the external monitor via cable), OS X loading normally, the iMac behaving as if nothing was wrong. iSight works, wireless, you name it except the LCD, buy OS X detects it and you can even see the desktop on remote desktop sharing.
So I search around the net for possible causes for this, and find that the data video cable can often break if not careful enough or misalign, so I open it again check it again, and again, even the inverter, and all is fine, just no activity what so ever on the LCD simply dead.
So I buy a new cable and replace it, same result no nothing. Now I am thinking I am not going to replace the LCD itself, but I can try one last thing reset the SMC and PVRAM so I did, nothing all the same.
So my last resort now is the inverter before I give up, I was wondering if some one had experienced something like this LCD issue, and if so, was it inverter related?
Please let me know if you can, would mean a lot, this machine was working fine just hard to work with a little monitor after getting accustom to the 20" and it's resolution, hope some has lived something similar.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And sorry for the longest / shortest story ever.
    Thanks a lot in advanced
    Cheers
    Sam

    Hey Kenichi,
Thanks again for taking the time to give me some light, and share some valuable knowledge, now I think I am getting closer to defining this, some of your ideas hit right on the nail.
    Kenichi Watanabe wrote:
When that second display is connected, and you open System Preferences Displays pane, does Mac OS X acknowledge that you have two screens? You can tell because there will be an Arrangement tab on the Displays pane, if there are two screens being used by Mac OS X in an extended Desktop. Even if the inverter is bad and not supplying power to the CCFL for backlighting, the built-in display should still be functioning as far as Mac OS X is concerned.
That is correct OS X is acknowledging that both displays are working and it detected the correct resolution for each, since I used the mirror feature it resorted to the lowest monitor res. 1024x768 OMG LOL.
But yes they both are recognized and as far as OS X fully working.
If two screens are being used by Mac OS X, then it could be the inverter. With the iMac running, shine a bright light on the display. If the LCD is working but just not being backlit, you should still see the display showing an image.
I did as you suggested and what a revelation, really, worth of Dan Brown, I mean, I was stunned to see the image, truly as a ghost shinning through the glass in the darkness of the room, exactly the same as with my external monitor which I also turned off, for this test. Only without any "light" sort of speak. A ghostly image without light that gives hope, how ironic is that?
I am guessing my data cable is working, LCD is working and that is good, if the inverter is the most likely cause then I can buy it and hope for the best any further advice?
If you see the image on the screen, it is most likely the inverter, although it is possible that the CCFL (the lamp or lamps that provide the lighting) is not working.
I am assuming the lamps can not just die all of them with what ever killed the inverter or could they?, BTW what possible cause could have damaged it?
Since this problem coincided with you opening up the iMac to replace the hard drive, I think it is less likely to be the inverter, CCFL, or the LCD. You may have already, but I would physically redo all the steps necessary to remove the hard drive, to ensure you did not forget to do some step in reverse when you reassembled it.
I thought the exact same thing yesterday and before posting I did exactly that, I disassemble it completely including the hard drive and sensor, all of it and put it right back, the result was the same. (If I am making a mistake, man at least I am consistent, I do it over and over).
At least now I know the LCD does output images just not light. And I also know the data cable that I bought and replaced does work.
I even disconnected the inverter from the LCD both connectors checked the cables and reconnected them back again to no avail.
After that I did the reset of PVRAM and SMC. Same results now I will say image in dark, no light.
So with this new info is it possible to narrow down a possible diagnostic?, is it a good choice to replace the inverter?, or is there anything else I could or should try?, for instance, I have some doubts about the shield an foil that encompasses the LCD, if it is not making perfect contact or is teared a bit, can that cause for instance a false ground a short, or a failure to close a circuit?
Any way thanks so much for your time and valuable input. I Highly appreciate it, you have returned a bit of sanity and hope to me.
If you happen to have more ideas please advice.
And thanks again for all your help thus far.
    Cheers

  • Screen 99% Dim - Dead

IBook G4 bought this January worked fine until a few hours ago. It went into a sleep mode and now when it wakes up, the screen is barely visible. Any ideas? I can barely see the buttons and I know that it's reset fine. I've reset multiple times, performed PMU reset, performed battery out power down reset, close and open reset. Everything I could think of. Any help would be appreciated before it ends up in the lake at the end of a nice toss.

Backlights of your LCD are dead or try raising the screen brightness.
Take it in and get the screen replaced if raising the brightness does not work(which it more than likely won't).

  • Cannot Ctrl+Alt+F1 after nvidia-173xx update

I have recently discovered that I cannot switch into "terminal mode" with the latest nvidia-173xx drivers (nvidia-173xx-173.14.25-1 and nvidia-173-xx-utils-173.14.25-1). Whenever I do Ctrl+Alt+Fn, the screen goes black with no terminal prompt. Then the only thing to do is Ctrl+Alt+F8 (F8 instead of F7, as it used to be) to go back to the X11 session.
This happens also if I logout from KDE and select "Console login" from within the KDM menu: the screen just goes black (after flickering a bit): in this case the only solution is to wait for KDM to kick in and display the (GUI) login screen.
An other thing I discovered is that, when I shutdown/restart the computer and the X11 session is terminated, the screen goes back to terminal mode but the display (and all those messages about services going down) is dimmed down.
The temporary solution for me is to go back to the previous version: nvidia-173xx-173.14.22-4 and nvidia-173-xx-utils-173.14.22-4. Here everything is fine (going to console mode, screen during shutdown, etc.)

I wasn't able to find any relevant messages in Xorg.log.  Another piece of information that may be relevant: the framebuffer resolution is set to "vga=773" in GRUB (which, I think, automatically disables KMS).
I'd rather be able to upgrade my nvidia driver in the future. Have anyone experienced the same problem? Is there any workaround it?
    Thank you very much.
[Edit] I forgot: I am on i686, the monitor is an LCD widescreen and the nvidia card is an old one: FX 5200 [/Edit]

Hey, I can confirm this, albeit with a different driver.
I have upgraded nvidia drivers from 190.56 to 195.36 and I can't switch back into console once X is started. The boot output is printed correctly though.
There is also another issue: If I don't set vga= in the boot options, my boot output hangs at "Waiting for udev uevents to be processed [busy]" (see: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=92189).
.After a while X will start, even without vga= parameter.
The problem definitely doesn't exist with 190.56...
Maybe time for a bug report to NVIDIA?
Problem also stayed even if I exchanged vesafb for uvesafb.
    Cheers
    Bastian

  • 16gb iPhone, 2x exchange experience due to dead pixels :(

I got 8gb iphone 12days ago from at&t store and found out 16g one was released 10 days after the purchase.
I got it from apple online store with overnight shipping because I asked apple store and they said they don't know when they will get shipment. I wanted to get new iphone and return one right after before 14 day warranty period, so there went my $16 overnight shipping fee. I paid $40 for restocking fee, too.
After turning on new 16GB iphone, I was dissapointed. Even before activation, I could clearly see a very bright spot in the black background, while holding the phone 50cm from my eyes. it was between the center and lower-left edge, closer to the center. it was visible on boot up and even in spring board. It annoyed me too much and with dead pixel testing tool, I could find 1 more big dead pixel and one not so big dead pixel(could barely see unless you look at the screen closely)
So I called apple and they told me to go see a genius in offline store. I made appointment and went there next morning. I just showed him two big dead pixels and he said I can use my warranty to get new one. We activated new phone together and before leaving the store, I connected to dead pixel testing website to see if there's any. I was very unhappy to find that it had 2 dead pixels around the center and a dust stuck in the lcd that appears as black dot on the screen. I showed it to the genius and he said every lcd has dead pixels and he can't get me another one because of those 2 dead pixels and a dust.
He told me the first exchange was just an exception he made. I was unsatisfied, first, because the 8gb phone I returned had absolutely no dead pixels, second, the 16GB I had before was better than this exchange, so I ended up with even worse one after paying $100 for extra storage and $40 for restocking fee. I know friends who have iphone and theirs have no dead pixels. I don't know how often deadpixels appear on iphones but what I knew was my 8gb phone and friends' iphones do not have dead pixels.
Ending up with even worse one, I could not leave the store. He called the manager and manager also said I can't get another exchange. I told her that I would not ask for another one even if next one is not satisfying but she said no. I was just standing there thinking about stuff, I even asked her if I can get the 8gb phone I returned yesterday because it was in perfect condition. She said if it's returned, then it is processed and I can't get it back.
Then she said that I can return this 16g one. I told her that I don't want to spend restocking fee again. She told me I don't need to pay that, contrary to what genius told me before. I just decided to get a refund and buy another one, but I wasn't mean enough to get a refund and buy one from them right after. I went to the other apple store nearby and got one. This time, there was no dead pixels, but just one tiny dust on the right edge on the screen which look like a tiny black dot. I decided to just live with it, because it's on the side and it just looks like other everyday dusts on the glass that I usually get, plus I'm tired.
Are deadpixels common in iphones? How's yours?

While watching a bought television show on my iPhone today I found a "pixel anomaly" as Apple calls it. It's not a dead pixel (black or always white) or stuck (I tried a pixel fixer video) but seems to be a dead sub-pixel (the red, green and blue that makes up a pixel). It appears lighter which makes me believe one of the colors is dead. It's a single messed up pixel but it is in the center of the screen. I'm torn whether or not to press the issue on it considering most pixel policies. I know that Apple is really good most the time with their displays. I'm just wondering their thoughts on a single sub-pixel.
My experiences with the genius bar hasn't been that great so I'm wary of dealing with them.

  • Toshiba 40E220U 40" is Dead !

My Toshiba 40E220U 40" Class 1080P LCD is dead, will not turn on,,, no lights, sounds or anything when I hit the power switch.  You can here the  plug  'click'  when plugging in, so 'something' is drawing current. I got a used power board and tried that,,,, still nothing,,,,just wondering If I should try the controller board, any  thoughts on how many times I try to fix this TV before setting out at the curb ? This showed up after a thunderstorm,,, so it may have gotten a 'zing' of  lightning,,, even though nothing else in the house was affected,,,, nothing,,, plus it got through a surge protector , which I am not a real fan of anyway, as they cannot prevent a surge that comes into the house from a nearby lightning strike, that travels into the house via the neutral/ground .

yup,,,, that is a solution, perhaps,,,, very hard to find anyne who will repair TVs anymore,,,,and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I can get another power board for 30 to 50 bucks,,,,,,, but,,, my first attempt at that was an Ebay board for 25 bucks,,,,,,now  not saying Ebay is a bad place for parts,,,, but with electronics,,, it is always a crap shoot,,,,,I was in a sense, using the money to pay a repairman, to 'try' parts instead,,,, so far not working out,,,,,
the controller board is a littel more $$$$$$$,,,,,, but in my shade tree mind,,,,,, since it will not turn on,,, and the on/off switch being part of the controller board,,,,, I was leaning towards that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, was hoping someone had this same problem and had a fix that worked for them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
thanks for all your tips,,,, not sure what I will do yet,,,,

  • Bluetooth does not work on mac book pro 2010

    Hello there,
I have been trying to pair my MacBook pro with my new sound box over bluetooth but in vain. It just doesn't work. I have gone through all kind of forums, howto's and articles but nothing helped. My MacBook Pro (late 2010) just doesn't pair. In the past with old operating OS X  systems it was already difficult to make it pair with discoverable bluetooth devices but it once worked with a jambox. Now nothing helps.
One additional information to the Etre Check below: I have changed my old CD-ROM drive for a SSD drive, so now I use SSD to boot up my Mac and the old HD drive mainly for not frequently used data.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
    Best,
    Xbal

The Logic Board is the Main system board. In the Windows world better known as the Motherboard. Except with Apple Mac computers the CPU and the GPU are Soldered to the logic board and if it is a Retina screen model the RAM is also Soldered to it.
So replacing the Logic board is like replacing the compete system and costs accordingly.
But there isn't much else you can do if you can't get that switch unstuck. Or just go without sound from the built in speakers. They aren't that good anyway.
